Arlene, I only had 4 rounds too. I am one week out tomorrow from my last Chemo. I am still trying to get my head around "being done"... Everyone is so happy for me but of course, all I can think about is ...was it enough? I am hoping I can get on with life and at least try to enjoy every day. I have to say, having to deal with the no hair thing, makes it hard to forget the cancer. I am going to give it my best try though!

    Congrats on your last! 🎉

Sizzle, it shouldn't take long for your hair to start coming in. I've actually kept mine short because I get so hot quick now, plus it's curly and wavy still and short is so easy and quick. My husband actually prefers it short. I don't even blow dry mine in the morning anymore because if I do it gets really frizzy and it looks like Kramer's from Seinfeld. LOL!! I just put some gel in it and go.Congrats on almost being done!!

Greenae= My MO said 4 to 6 was fine. If I had to stop at 4 that was Ok. So,do not worry. many people on this board have done 4.

Luvmy dobies= My only advise which may not be correct is see another gyno.If you are this upset. See someone else and see what they say. Stay Calm!!!

I emailed my PCP and she said she heard this specialist speak at a seminar and she thinks she knows where she is trying to get me, so I'm going to make an appointment with my PCP and see what she has to say. She may be a good pain doctor but her bedside manner is absolutely horrible. Or at least it was with me! She's supposed to be the expert at UNC. Every doc I've encountered while treated there have been awesome except for her. I'm really sore and I guess it's just from the trauma of her jabbing me up there. I've had a lot of exams from one end to the other and this was by far the worst! If anyone is near UNC and wants her name PM me if you want to avoid her and I'll give you her name.

    Welcome Odds!!

    Hugs and prayers,

Thank you, all! And Sizzle, I hear 'ya. Where do we go in our heads? Is it over? Methinks not. More surgeries, revisions, screenings, doc visits. It's a new world, and is going to take some getting used to. But We Are Strong, and We Are Here!

    Love, arlene

The nurse called me back after leaving a message telling her how uncomfortable I've been and she said the doctor said I was probably sore from the exam and to give it some time. Well if I'm hurting tomorrow I'll just go to my PCP and have her remove it and refer me to a regular Gyno. I took two extra strength Tylenol and an Advil and hopefully I can get some sleep. I thought about taking two Hydrocodone pills but those can constipate me. Ugh. The pain feels like it does when you either put a tampon on wrong or like when you pull one out and it 's dry. It's like a pressure type pain between the anus and vagina, if that makes sense? Almost like a tampon that's too big.

Luvmydobies: Please look for a womens physical therapy location in your area. These clinics are run by WOMEN and treat only WOMEN. They know all things to do with the pelvic area. (sometimes more than MDs) Whether it be urine/ stool incontinence, pain during sex, low back pain/hip pain, burning in the perineal area....in general all things female related. Your PCP can send an order for this and the PT ladies can develop a treatment plan specific to your issues. From how you described things, it sounds like you would be a perfect fit for this type of care. Check to see if you have ATI in your area...I know they offer a womens clinic. I had very good care there. My mom is currently seeing them for a pelvic fracture(she is 81 yrs old and rolled off the bed) and having good results. Best of luck to you. You deserve to have the best care possible with good results and a happy life.

hello to the new ladies...wish you didn't have to be here.

To those experiencing the weight gain....UGH! I was diagnosed when I was at my physical peak. I gained 22lbs. Steroids, major decrease in activity, eating poorly and of course chemopause/menopause. Most of it is gone now, but not all. And I'm finally accepting of it. It is what it is.

Today is my Cancerversary.....6 years out and feeling good. Living life and grateful for everyday. Onc released me in November 2014 and I have no plans of ever going back.

    Hugs to all.

Arlene, thanks for the hugs! I can't take a high dose of NSAID because they hurt my stomach so when I'm really hurting I'll take two extra strength Tylenol and one Advil and it helps. I slept ok last night and don't feel quiet as sore this morning.

Navymom, first off congrats on six years!!!! So happy for you dear! Thanks for the info about physical therapy! I really appreciate it and I'm going to ask my PCP about that when I see her. I'm heading to the Doberman rescue this morning. It'll be a good distraction! I won't be able to get in with my doctor anyway and she doesn't work on Friday so hopefully I can get in with her Monday. There's a slim chance I could see her this afternoon but I doubt I will. Maybe they can work me in but I'll have to call at 8:30 when they open. Thanks again!! Big congrats!!

Sorry I haven't been on. Been dealing with several personal issues.

First treatment was May 20th as planned. Infusion went smoothly. Later that day I had long lasting hot surges with lots of sweating. They said this was due to the steroid they gave me. Lost my appetite, but no nausea.

Today was my follow up to that first treatment, and many good results. FIRST my genetic tests came back negative all around! I feel so blessed to know that this is not something I am passing on to my sons. SECOND the MO said that I handled the treatment much better then most people do. THIRD I confirmed I have Aflac coverage for critical illness and I'm just waiting for them to process the claim. This has taken a HUGE burden off me emotionally.

My next treatment will be June 2nd. Another AC round with steroids and other anti nausea meds. The steroid will be cut in half as I had major side effects from it.

The plan for today is to go for a walk, and try to mow the yard (in small sections). My MO said as long as I don't exhaust myself I can do anything I want to.

Angel excellent news that all went well for you and without the added problem of money worries which will help enormously.   The walk will make you feel good but don't over-do the lawn mowing.

Navy so good to hear from you.  Six years wow that is great.  I thought Titan was the longest but six years is wonderful.  How is that wonderful boy of yours, is he home.  My concert is coming up again and I will be thinking of him. Linda must be coming up close to you as well.  Such wonderful news.

LUV I think I would try to see a Gynae Specialist or try the physical therapy that Navy suggested. Either way I'm glad that you are not so sore today, maybe it will just take the pessary time to settle down.

Angel, I'm glad to hear that you are handling AC so well. That's great.

AnotherNYC, I hope your surgery goes well. I have another BC friend who is dealing with the exact same issue right now and will be having her surgery in a couple weeks. Wishing you a smooth, speedy recovery.

I go in tomorrow for a regularly scheduled checkup with my breast surgeon complete with 3d mammo. Keeping my fingers crossed for an "all clear".

Hi ladies, I check this thread all the time, but I can't remember if I ever asked if I could join you. I blame chemo brain. I was diagnosed 3 months ago at age 34 with TN, had a BMX the monday after the Friday I got the news. Now I'm half way done with chemo and beginning to consider what life will be like after treatment. Does anyone know how many of us TNs there are here on this thread? Thanks so much!

Angel so glad you're doing so well!!!!

I saw my PCP and she took the pessary out. It was too painful! She didn't agree with the doctor's method at all. I told her how barbaric the exam was. I asked her about physical therapy and she said she would do some checking and let me know. Thanks everyone

this is not related to breast cancer but tomorrow I'm having epidural for spinal stenosis. I can barely walk any distance and my leg kills me. I had to jump hoops to get in the pain management clinic. I'm currently taking gabapentin and Percocet. They constipate me so badly but I take a dose of miralax at least twice weakly and it helps to keep me regular.

Simple I have you in my pocket too and hope you continue to dance with NED.
