Hi all, ruthbru, I'm with you and down 2 and just hoping I can hold on to that going forward.

Late happy birthday Patoo.  Same weight as check in 2 weeks ago, but I'll take that over the holidays.  Cut out butter and cheese from diet because of the salt.  Put scattering of grapes, melon, strawberry, greens, peppers, tomato, cucumber on plate and including a healthy portion of low fat vegetable along with lean meat and very small potato.  I have to say with all the colors, dinner is pretty satisfying visually, and I'm starting to get over the salt with the help of Mrs. Dash, although I still pop a couple olives on the plate too.  I think most of my water weight is gone and now I have to actually diet and exercise.

Good for you Kimberly1961.  It only takes getting started and then staying on track.  Thanks for the happy birthday wish.

Quaatsi..................................yes I did when I was 28..............many moons ago.................I lost 32 lbs in 6 weeks..............people who had not seen me, didn't even know who I was..........I went to a bowling banquet, and our parish priest said to my husband "How come Ducky didn't come"..............my husband said "she's standing right beside you"..................he knew me well................someone else said "who is that person Vince is dancing with'"...............it was me, so yes it did work, but I don't know how safe it actually was.............at the time I would do anything to lose the poundage............................when I stopped, the "weight" came back on, and I had it in places I never had it before..................

I would absolutely not recommend it to anyone............I had to be an idiot to do it...........back then it was an injection you got everyday...........a 500 calorie diet (deadly), and my Dr. was livid when he heard I did it............................

so really think twice before yo do it.....................Dr. Oz. also says "no way"...............

Better late than . . . ?? Stayed steady this week, whew! I had gained 3.5 last week, but did a second weigh in (a couple more days post egg nog) and had lost 2.5 lbs of it. So I'm still a pound up, but am OK with that considering. Looking back, I've lost 3.5 lbs since Oct. Not a stellar performance, but moving in the right direction.

Glad you're back Patoo! I was missing you :-) Hope you had a good birthday.

Hey Ducky, I would pay $9 to attend one of your meetings just for the entertainment factor!

Quaatsi: Hang in there. It's good to be conscious of the weight gain, but don't fret over it. Once you get out of treatment and start recuperating things will begin to balance out. There's a lot going on in your body right now. I can so relate to your irregularity problem, I remember during treatment I was popping stool softeners like they were tic tacs!

Carole and Kimberly: Love the food talk! Pizza, mmmm. And that assorted plate of fruit and veggies! What a picture. I imagined it all drizzled with balsamic vinegar and it made my mouth water.

Nats: What a great hike and so proud of Mikey. I took our Jack Russell on a 6 mile hike up Mt Whitney once and had to carry her the last mile. Then the next day when we were going to summit she let us know in no uncertain terms she wasn't going to budge from her bed ha! Not even to say good bye for fear we would take her I'm sure. She loves hiking our local hills tho.

Ruthbru: So sorry you fell sick, but it's so like you to look on the bright side. You are an inspiration.

Lulubee: Thanks for the tip about JJill.

    mpeaches: Definitely doable!

Forgive me if I've missed anyone, it was a lot to catch up on, but sure enjoyed reading all the posts. Will do my best to stay on track so I don't have to babble on so much in one post next time. Keeping you all in my thoughts . . . it gives me strength xoxo

Thanks for the support gals!  I think I have a hiatal hernia and it gets activated when I get to the weight I am at-- which is why I want to not gain anymore and lose at least  a few to get out of this zone.  It surely isn't that I am eating that much to warrant the almost 20 pounds!  I have almost 4 more months of chemo left but I start Navalbine and end Taxol after three more tx!  Maybe that will help???

Love this idea and want to jump in but not as brave as some of you women to actually put a number for all of you to see how much I weigh.....but I would love to join and I see a few familiar friends here, mpeaches and Jenn.  So I guess from reading the last few pages it is Wednesday hump day weigh ins, huh?  I am dying to lose some weight as I have put on 14 of the 20 I have lost a few years ago do to planter fasciitis and not being able to do my walking.  So fingers crossed for a good number on Wednesday....

Welcome June !  Very few of us post our actual weight.  I do it because I can't remember from week to week how much I weigh.  It's some weird head game I play with myself.

Hi June!  Good to see you here too!  Many women don't put their actual weight, just whether they're up or down from where they started.  I figured putting my actual weight down makes me face it!

Ok, Ladies,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,guess where I was again this morning.......................I am unplugging my phone, changing the locks on my doors, and forgetting I have 1 of 3 daughters named Michele who insists on calling me like "Little Miss Sunshine", and leaving me a message.............(cause I ignore her call)............."Hi Mom, its Michele, I'll be over to pick you up in about 15 minutes to go to the gym..........................I ignored her voicemail, and she showed up, and tooted the horn................................"Didn't you hear me "toot"............I said "yes, but I was ignorning you until I heard you open the door".............I would have crawled under the bed when I heard her come in, problem was...........I couldn't fit under there.......................I told her that and she said "OK, GET YOUR COAT..........I'LL BE WAITING IN THE CAR"...................................Persistant Bitch......................She drags my ass out the door everytime she goes........................I hate the gym, and I told her today I am even beginning to hate her ......................She laughed her ass off..........................

Funny Ducky!  Gotta love DD - is she a chip off...  Jus' sayin' but she got it somewhere.

Welcome June.  Like others said, posting your weight is up to you.  I put mine sometimes also because I usually can't remember one week to the next (that may be a good thing!).  Also, this body is all I have so gotta love it no matter the size.  Don't think any modelling agencies are lurking here on BCo looking for me.  Smile

Ducky you crack me up after reading that post.  I wish I had someone who cared enough about me to drag my butt off to the gym.  Count your blessing even though you will be cursing her big time for each time she drags you out.....lol

I am contemplating joining Weight Watchers.  I have done it before and never stuck to it and the last time I lost 20lbs I just did it on my own.  I just feel like now that I am out of commission with my foot I need some help to get my mindless eating under control....wish me luck, not sure if I will or wont.

Well she's back to work today, so I'm safe, although I think she said when I got out of the car yesterday..........................."I'll be going Tuesday, so mark that on your "to do list".....................what "to do list"...............................I haven't had a "to do list" since my husband died............................my "to do list" consists of "doing whatever the hell I damn feel like doing, at the time"...........................Yell "my to do list"...................................and if I did have a "to do list"....................going to the gym 5 days a week would not be on it"...............now she came up with ..................."ok Mom, it is either "the gym", or cancer coming back, because you don't exercise.....'and what about your heart, you know the exercise helps with that too"............................"your choice MOm...........just say the word, and I'll stop coming to pick you up"................................I saId, "consider the word said"................................her answer...................sorry your not getting away with it"............" that wasn't the answer"............................."see you tomorrow night around 6pm"...............I am never going to win this one.....................you have no idea how I hate the gym..................no idea..........almost as much as I hate the "twit" at WW, who gets excited over my 4 ounce loiss. Ducky, I think your daughter has a future as one of those boot camp instructors!!  She's really good!!  Tongue out

    Mary.........your right, she could qualify.

Been in your neck of the wood several times...........when I was dating my husband (way too many years ago)...........his family would go "crabbing) in that area............we would go to Rockhall, Md........sometimes they  would refer to it as Chestertown area..............to a place called "Carter's".............this old man had 2 things...........row boats, and an outhouse................we would go at 5am, and they would drop a 300 ft. troll line in the water, and by the end of the day we would have 6 or more bushels of the biggest "blue claw Maryland crabs" I have ever seen....................I tell my kids the story today about the size, and they can't believe it.................after so many years, the "commercial crabbing boats"..........literally have cleaned out the "big crabs"........................sad, but true.

Also my grandaughter graduated from Catholic University last year with a degree in nursing, so I am quite familiar with that area too..................(this is the daughter of the boot camp instructor).........................she got a job right out of college in Childrens's Hospital in Philly in the neo-natal ICU................and loves it.

Just a little background, and a "nice to meet you" greeting...................now I am going to sit and figure out how I can get out of going to the gym tomorrow night.......hahahahaha

Ruthbru.................I honestly hate, hate, hate, going even though I know it is for my own good.................You would think I would be happy............someone picks me up, drops me off, and stays with me the whole time, so its not like I'm alone.

Now if I could just get her to do all the exrecise for me, and me not have to go.........that would be great...............hahahahaha.............just hate everything about it...................oh well, your right, she is going to win this one.....................

Ducky, can we clone your DD, one for each of us?  Or, you can pay me biggggggg bucks to take her off your hands.

Phone rang tonight...................when I answered my daughter said "I was just telling Kaileen (her daughter, my 22 year old grandaughter, who goes with us)....that you were probably avoiding my call and not answering.

Well this is how she began...................."Hey Mom, Kaileen and I are out front of the house, are you ready to go to the gym........................well I like to crap my pants.....................I said "oh no, why didn't you call.......ok hold on, I have to put my sneaks on, and I'll be right out"

All of a sudden there was this hysterical laughter, and she said "just kidding"................I decided not to go tonight"

I thought "yes, there is a God"................................and said to her.....................oh that just breaks my heart......sorry to hear your not going?.....................................she said "and Mom your "full of shit"................................I said "you got that right.

So we talked, and I went back to watching Jeoparty, and Wheel of Fortune............................................oh thank heavens for small favors............hahahahahha.

Now tomorrow I have to go see "Mrs. Happy at WW" that should be a hoot, after Spaghetti one night...........and Shrimp Scampi another..................oh Lord.

Ok, Ladies..............been up since 7am.............had coffee, and am ready to go see Mrs. Happy ...........will have the "good Wink or Cry bad news when I get back.............................I have 911 on Speed Dial, just in case I have a "fantastic" loss, and they can revive Mrs. Happy...............................yea, like that is going to happen...................I think I have been gaining and losing the same frigging 10 lbs since Oct......................and don't dare say "well its 10 lbs off...................................wish me luck.........

Down 2 pounds this week and only a mere 82 left to go.  It's like a treasure hunt to find things not artifically loaded with salt.  They even inject most chicken breasts with salt for cripes sake and it costs 3.00 more a pound to find any without the saline. That's just wrong.  Ducky, can't wait to hear about your WW weigh-in.

Stayed the same.....my excuse is that I have a 6 month checkup next week so have been 'nervous eating". How I wish I were a person who can't eat when under stress!!!

Darn - up 1.1 pounds. I've been gaining and losing and gaining and losing this %$#^ pound since Thanksgiving!  Ruth - what happened to our plan to drop our extra pounds into Lake Michigan????  Kim - I'm with you with salt - it flares my truncal LE like crazy and it's EVERYWHERE!!!  (Especially around the rim of the glass of that margarita I had last night at the Mexican restaurant - think that might have something to do with my gain this morning??  Undecided)

Patoo - when you're finished with Ducky's DD, send her off to me!  Tongue out

Okay I wish this was yesterdays weigh in but today only down 1.2 and yesterday it was 2.2.  I have gained about 14 lbs in less than 3 months and I am so completely depressed about.  I started WW on my own today, lets see if I can actually stick with it.  I hate diets as I never seem to stick to something.  Walking was the only thing that kept my weight in check and I miss it terribly.  Wonder if I will ever be able to get rif of this planter fasciitis and get back to walking.  Sometimes I wonder if I weren't on Tamox would I have this foot problem.  I guess I am so quick to blame this little white pill on everything wrong with meYell

June, I had planter fascittis too. Youch.....I bought some of those $50  Dr. Scholl's inserts.....when you go to Walmart look for the machine you stand on, it will 'read' your feet and tell you which inserts you should buy. And then, I wore good supported shoes all the time (even in the house, which is what my PA friend told me to do). It took a long time to go away. I kept walking and exercising even when I had it, and even though it hurt, because exercising or not isn't going to make a difference in how long it takes to heal...it will take time either way. I still wear good shoes with inserts all day, but thank goodness don't need to wear them around the house anymore.
