Kate - well done on two great milestones, finishing chemo and anniversary. I hope you aren't having too many awful SEs this time. Glad the port went well, are you having herceptin?

Trish - it is horrible when you have to wait for tests because of holidays, I hope you get in asap and get some answers soon.

I hope everyone gets a rest over Easter, we have kids things on at school this week and I have been struggling to keep up. Next year I am sure I will miss making Easter Hats and dyeing eggs.. xx

Chrissy, lovely to chat yesterday, and glad you are getting there with your knee.

Sue - would love to fly up and see your physio lol My chiro and I have been seeing eachother for around 14 or 15 years now, he knows my spine pretty well.  I have been on maintenance visits with him for a long time now - usually every 4 weeks whether I need it or not.  I find if I miss one, then my neck gets too far out of kilter.  With my lower back though, I think we both thought it was going to be ok after doing the exercises.  I do see him again next week though.

Will see the doc this afternoon and see what his take is on it all.  But I am in that zone now where I've stopped panicing and accepted it will be what it will be.  I'm even starting to think it's just another crappy se of Arimidex lol

Hope everyone has a great day

    Trish

Trish - just decided to cancel my physio appt and I told him about you and that I said you should fly up to see him. I don't like chiropractors as they string you along for ever. My guy sees you a few times and lets you go as soon as it's better and he actually fixes it. Do you get traction? I think that's what makes the difference. Richard does do manipulation which is great.

My pain is weird - it's ok once my naprosyn kicks in. Certainly not debilitating anymore. So I decided to give physio a wee break and see how it goes.

Trish - are you in Canberra at all over the weekend.  We have decided to raid the piggy bank and are spending Fri, Sat and Sunday at the Novatel (got a very good deal).

I am just so sick of the sight of these walls and am on the verge of cracking up completely, so even though my energy levels are pathetic I am determined to escape during my 'good' week. Hubby has been working 14hour days for the last fortnight and if we don't run away he will get stuck working on the weekend also.

Chrissy - so glad to hear you are up and about, that's fantastic. Kylie x

Kylie - I will be in Canberra over the weekend - just not exactly sure which day as yet, but should know soon.  I'll PM you my phone number, and hopefully we can tee something up :-)  I think a weekend away for you sounds like a great idea - you need to have a change.

Sue - my chiro is amazing.  As I said I've been seeing him for a long time now.  I had 2 very serious car accidents about 30 years ago within a month of eachother and both gave me serious whiplash injuries.  My neck was a mess.  I had physio at the time, but it didn't really help much.  My DH also has a "crappy" back and he was at the stage where his back would go out on him and he'd be flat on his back for 2 weeks at a time when that happened.  We found this chiro and now DH's back is still bad, but he no longer has to spend all that time immobile.  He sees the chiro every 3 weeks for maintenance, and believe me it works.  It's amazing that he can actually walk upright given all the things wrong with his back.

When I saw how amazing the improvement was, I went to the chiro to see if he could help me.  I went from having pretty serious migraines (cervical migraines from my neck) every week, and sometimes twice a week to now having one every couple of months.  I have 3 spurs in my neck and 2 of them are broken.  He doesn't string me along, he keeps me sane.  I tried physios, and no-one came near to giving me the relief this guy does.

You do have to find a good one though - there are some cranks out there.  After the mx I didn't see him for a couple of months, what with chemo and everything, and I could really feel the difference once I saw him again and got everything back in line.

If he can't fix something he says so - like this time, when he said I'd better see a dr.  So I trust him implicitly.

    Trish

Oh boy... My 3hrs at a day spa this afternoon was worth every expensive minute! I feel like a new person (except for the evening Taxol ache which is starting right on schedule).

We were supposed to drive up to Nelson Bay and have lunch with family on Saturday but I have had to change it to Sunday because having my Taxol/Herceptin a day earlier (tomorrow) means that Saturday will now be my bad day where I can't be anymore than 1min away from a bathroom :-( Bloody cancer!!!!

Trish - My guy is a keeper - been going to him for over 12 years. The thing I like is that I don't have to go for maintenance visits and I know my back is a mess according to my bone scan. I used to go to a chiro who kept me going back time after time until I questioned myself as to what I was doing and then I stopped. I can go for months or even more than year with no trouble and if I happen to put it out, I just go to Richard a few times and I'm fine.

Chrissy - I missed your post about walking - WOW - Steve just you are brave when I told him how you were going. Does it hurt to walk?? You'll have to tell me about the procedure - did they do any new fangled wonderful thing? I think I only need half knee replacements as the cartilage is only gone on the inside. I remember my mother said they put concrete in there - that was enough to scare me off, but I think they have better ways of doing it now.

Jenn - glad you had a lovely spa experience, just the ticket for you. I wish I'd thought of that while having chemo.

    Morning all

Trish hope things can get sorted. I have full sympathy and understanding as my back has been bad since I was a very young teenager. Had polio and it has had lasting effects on my health. My back is a mess and since BC its far worse. Constant pain is dreadful and you must get some relief Trisha.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend we are supposed to be getting a tropical storm but hope it misses.

Chrissy what news of you When will you be getting out?

    Big hugs

Jenn, I was wondering if you'd have your treatment today as tomorrow is a ph.  I hope it goes well with you.  You sound like I did when I was having Taxotere - couldn't go too far away from a bathroom.  ((((hugs))))

I saw the dr yesterday, and he agreed I need a bone scan, so will call them today as soon as it's 9.00 to make an appointment.

Kate - haven't heard from you for a while - are you ok?

Chrissy - hope you are still on track to get out soon, how are you going?

Hope everyone else has a good day.

    Trish

Morning girls!!!  I will be sprung from this place either tomorrow or Saturday but I think tomorrow is just a carrot......lol.......to make sure I push through with my effort.    Yesterday, Ian (my physio) had me walking the hallway just holding onto the handrail...............talk about a weird sensation!..........first forward and then backward.  Yup just like me I exclaimed 'backward' too....lol......that little exercise is to make sure I have the correct walking movement as in heel roll to toe bend the knee, lift and straighten for nex step, heel roll to toe and bend the knee, lift and straighten etc, etc, etc.  I would be just fine if this soreness would just pass......it sort of makes you hold back a bit coz you know its going to burn.  No matter, it is after all just a week so I guess I have to be patient.................and that is oh so very hard to do.

Sue if you want a full description of the op I'm happy to oblige but sometimes ignorance is bliss.  Please don't let the soreness put you off having it done if you need it done as they are very willing to give you all the pain meds you need it's just unfortunate for me that I can't take many but I'm still doing okay with all of it.

Jenn so glad you thoroughly enjoyed the spa treatment and it makes the dollars worth the spend just to experience it.  Hope your next treatment goes well for you and you really enjoy your lunch on Sunday!

Kylie I do hope you enjoy you weekend in Canberra!  Great that you will also be able to catch up with Trish!

Trish I do hope the scan comes back clear for you as do we all!  As the saying goes, it's better to be sure than sorry...................I do hope it's just osteo.  It just struck me that when you think about it under normal circumstances saying something like like would be a dreadful thing but here, it really is the lesser of the options.  Good luck on getting a quick appointment and results.

Kate, hope you are resting and taking it easy since the wedding and your last treament has suely knocked you out.  I'm please that yiou treatment was easier because of the port insertion and hat's the way it meant to be.

Racy, Aly, Gerri and Jezza I sure hope your lead into the Easter break is not too busy for you.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful, blessed Easter!

    Love n hugs.  Chrissy

Hi everyone. Well I have just arisen after 36 hours in bed. Fatigue hit me big time. I didn't know I could sleep so much! feeling a bit more withit today and I might be able to manage staying on the lounge and watch some tv. Gad I feel like a slug! Oh and I got thrush from the antibiotics too, first time I've had thrush since I was a newly-wed. So got the creme for that. What a misery guts I feel.

Trish (huggs) for you. I hate that there is always a constant worry about BC but lets hope that it is age, or wear and tear. At least getting an MRI will provide answers and hopefully peace of mind.

Chrissy, you amaze me truly. I am so pleased that you have pushed through with the physio and you might be out in the next couple of days.

Jenn, spa treatment sounds devine and just the best medicine. Glad you're doing OK too.

Kylie, yes, have a nice weekend away and Suzie and Racy, Gerri Aly and Jezza, hope you have a wonderful easter breack with your families.

    Lots of love xxxxx

Ok - booked in for Tuesday.  Will have to take a day's leave, as I also have a dentist appointment that day and I forgot that a bone scan has to be done in 2 parts.  First the injection of the radioactive material, then come back 4 hours later for the scan.

My back is very sore today, maybe because the dr poked and prodded a fair bit yesterday.  I think I'll also take a half day today and go home and start easter early.

Kate - good to hear from you.  don't worry about being a slug - you are allowed lol

Trish so glad your scan is booked and you managed to get in on Tuesday straight after Easter so that's a good thing.  Going home early to start your relaxing sounds like a very good idea to me.

Kate honey be a slug for as long as you need to be and don't feel guilty about it!  Rest is what your body is craving for at the moment so give it to it.

    Love n hugs girls.  Chrissy

Hope you all have a great Easter.

Have had a really quiet day as my RA was playing up so I rested most of the day after going for a walk this morning. Watched TV something I don't usually do during the day.

DD called in and left the children while she went to the supermarket so they have gone home and DH has gone to get some tea. So it has been a really lazy day.

Enjoy your hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Sue it feels better each day and once all the swelling and bruising settles I won't know myself.  I did actually walk with just two sticks yesterday and the physio said that he wanted me to do that just to proove to myself that my leg was stronger than I thought..........he was right......lol....it is!!!
