Stitching the pieces together

Aha! Someone likes the nine-patch!! Too fun! You should put something else in the pic to show scale so the other ladies realize how small they are. To me, the stitching shows how small they are.

and here's another of my favorites, a little churn dash that was made for a challenge. We were to use only two colors, any number of shades of those colors, but just two colors.
Notice my experiment with the disappearing churn dash bottom left? Even (especially) when I make a large quilt I like to do at least one weird thing, either reverse the pattern or leave out a piece of a block. Often I'm the only one to notice.

The way it's hanging it's very noticable! LOL, very pretty in pink! I like how you used your background fabric for your border too. It has never occurred to me to do that!

Oooo Anna, they are beautiful! I can see the scale as Barb says by the stitching. Such small nine patch! They really do pop!!!

My sister took out a second on her house and bought the big machine. She now quilts profesionally. I am partial to hand quilting, or even basic machine quilting, but the heavy duty stuff does make for a strong quilt.

Anna - Those are beautiful - what talent. I haven't done anything nine patch in years. I love the small scale - must have taken some time to do those.
My first king size quilt I made for my bed I hand quilted. It took several months but I got it done. I throw it in the washer and dryer and it is still holding up. I have had it for 10 years now.

I guess I forgot to turn the page when I posted.
Now I see all those beautiful quilts of Anna! Wow!
I was able to finish one more grandmother's garden block on the trip yesterday. I now have three complete. Only 77 more to go! At three done per week, I only have 23 more weeks until I am ready to put the background on.

I thought this was interesting on my Great grandma's quilt.
As you can see there is a snippet of a different fabric on the back. I wonder if she just ran out of fabric and needed a fill, or if this was her "signature".

I am hand quilting a full size now that has 63 squares. At 3 a day that is 21 weeks until I am done. I have 17 done now. Will try and post a picture later on.

Apparently the edges of the quilts that were used got roughed up with the man's beard!! You will often find patching along the edges for this reason.

JO - We would love to see some of your crafts. I'm not sure what happened with Photo Bucket and your PC, I don't have any trouble at all. You may want to try a copy/paste and see if that works.

I am with Jo, when I tried Photobucket on the computer at the office (when I was working), it got infected with a virus and was told by my boss to avoid that site and haven't tried it since. I have a snapfish account but when trying to post it doesn't seem to want to work. If anyone can give me some ideas on what to do, I would appreciate it.
and my queen mystery quilt is almost complete, I just lack hand sewing the binding on 1/2 of one side!

I have used photobucket for over a year and a half with no problem, but t is mostly for my own photos, not other people's.
You can upload your pics to Facebook and transfer them from there. I did that when photobucket was down. I also have my own website and I put pictures on there then transfer them here.

I seem to be having trouble uploading photos from any source. I guess my degree in computers doesn't include photo sharing .0

Poor DH. I had my little squares for my GG quilt all over the sofa. Scissors, paper hexagons, thread, etc. I packed each set of squares and hexagons into sandwich bags, then everything is in a nice basket on the sofa now. I think he is much happier. I had just had a momment of quilt craziness and had to reel it in.

Hello Everyone, Just found this threas. I am a fellow quilter. I have been doing it for about four years. Did some sewing growing up but this is fun. i sewed three quilts during chemo. It was the only thing that kept my interest long term. I do not do much hand quilting but have tried some machine stippling. Just starting on that stuff. I now have four quilts in pieces. I am trying to redo my kitchen and stripping the cabinets myself to save money. Love the thread. Quilting gives me a sense of peace and accomplishment. Happy sewing Dianne

Wow! I guess I spent so much time looking through the pictures, I posted after Faithie did. I am remiss on not acknowledging your beautiful birthday wish quilt, Faithie. Thank you! Thanks to all of you for your birthday wishes. I just ate a PB&J sandwich and don't think I have room for cake...yet.
