Thank you both for the support. So many wonderful women on these boards. We are all lucky to have each other.

I'm getting so much better at maneuvering these boards....I just read your story on the stupid thread. See what I mean.....a person can be down in the dumps and read one of your funny stories and you have no choice but to laugh. Too funny. Not to mention FK sweeping in on her broom. Think I'll start calling you Lucy and Ethel.

Lucy & Ethel is perfect for those 2!!!
Slow, I am with you the tired of cancer today. So I am going to think about other things as best I can: I had a wonderful art class this morning, MUST do paperwork this afternoon, have choir practice tonight, and somewhere in between have to get my guest room ready for a weekend visit from one of my best friends, and should get a nap if I want to remain functional.
Ducky, does your daughter enjoy camping? DH and I used to camp out in the winter, really enjoyed planning meals that could be cooked on a little backpacker's stove. We never built a fire, just used the little stove that worked on some kind of fuel - butane??? - it's been a long time and I don't remember - anyway, it was fun and a challenge. OK, so I am a little odd, I always look at challenges as fun. (Except the BC challenge. Not so much fun.)
We lived in PA for nearly a decade, then moved to upstate NY for the next decade, now we are in "the South" and although I do actually miss playing in the winter stuff, I do NOT envy anyone getting hammered this winter. This has been an especially tiresome one. Hang in there, Goddesses, March IS coming!!!!

Oh, yeh .... did someone mention pity party? Well, if there is going to be a party, let's get some decent food & appropriate beverages going .... me, I'm ready for the hard liquor today .... forget those little wine spritzers or whatever they're called .... and lots of fried snacks, like jalapeño poppers, onion rings, nachos ... and maybe some brownies ....

Linda........No not a camper.....she is a beach person, thus my home down the shore........
I am 78, will be 79 in April............I never remember a winter like this one......brutal......and it is just early Feb.......I am just hoping that the rest of the winter goes easy on us..........none of my kids have power right now, and it could be days.......
Mine went out the other day for 12 hours during a storm, but thank heavens they got it fixed, and had this happened today it would have been days for me too.........the fewer houses on the "grid" the further back you get pushed.........I have 24..........my one daughter 19...........it is insane......told them to come here to eat, but they said no.................."wonder who they take after"
Can't wait for Spring..........will never complain about the heat again.........

Good Evening Goddesses,
Uh oh - no sign of ducky and FK. Wonder if ducky lost power again? FK is that your broom I see poking out from the snow? What trouble are you both getting into?
Oh well, just as suspected no rads for me. Went to RO today for simulation and possible zapping and I have another lump at 3:00. Back to US. Soooooo, no Hawaii or PR for me for awhile! I'm a fargin' lump making machine. We are hoping it's a seroma from the core biopsy a few weeks ago.
Linda, I'm with ya on the hard liquor drink. Let's eat all the foods we aren't supposed to have! Chips and salsa, margaritas, pizza and ice cream. Party time!!! I'm tired of asparagus
Hope you're all staying warm and toasty on the east coast.

Good Morning Goddesses,
Today is a new day! We got about three drops of rain this morning - could this be an end to our drought? hehe I hope you're all feeling well this morning. I've developed a couple of new words. In fact, I think we should have our own language here on BCO. So, the words for the day are:
lump.a.noi.a
noun: lumpanoia
A mental condition characterized by delusions of growing lumps which causes excessive lump checking. It may be caused by too many treatments for breast cancer.
lump.a.noid
adjective: lumpanoid
of, characterized by, or suffering from the mental condition of lumpanoia.Let me know if you can think of others. I'm ready to take a trip on the broom!! I even bought some goggles, so stuff doesn't get in my eyes. Will you take me for a spin FK? Hugs to all!

Slow.........doing good.......not sure about Fire........have not heard from her.........
Grandson called today said he was coming for lunch.........then my daughter called and said she was going to stop on her way back from work training, and have lunch here.........so I was a busy person for about 2 hours......
Now sitting here doing nothing......bored out of my mind, and just wishing Spring would come soon, but like my Grandmother use to say when I would say "I wish".............her answer would be "Wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see which gets full first."..................so true........
So I will just sit here, watch "Bones", then "Shark Tank", and then whatever else is on.........not interested in the Olympics.............disgusted with all the crap and heard about the conditions our athletes are dealing with, and it has turned me off............not saying I won't watch it, just can't figure out why Russia............oh well

OMG FK come back...why lose power now? I hope the morning shows they were just working on the poles.
I made it through the week driving back and forth to work...nice warm car...no problems. It's Friday...so happy. I've been staying in so much I don't want to even get dressed tomorrow. But I will...DH and I have been housebound so long we will get out and do something.Badger, just napping? Thought maybe some here were hibernating. Don't blame them if they are.
Ducky, did they get their power on yet? So funny that they are now starting to come for food and showers. Grandma Duckie to the rescue...
You have a huge family!!! I wonder how many will come after me...more grandkids? great grandkids - maybe one or two in my lifetime from my older grandson but he's not ready for kids yet.
DD called me and she told me that her ex will have the kids for February break. He asked if he could (seriously) take the 2 kids (8, 10) to Sochi to the Olympics for their break. My DD researched and said no way...it's like a 3rd world country with no infrastructure to support the crowds. Let alone bad security. He told her he would go then she could fly with the kids and get a free trip to Russia and return when she wanted to. Just what she needs...she's sitting in 2 feet of snow in CT why would she go to Russia? Anyway, she set him straight. Cool idea but scary thought....
Guess we can't leave tomorrow...FK can't charge up the broom. Ducky, where's your pilot???0 -
Ducky, glad to hear you're doing good. Hope you made something yummy for lunch! My husband says that saying too, about wishes.
FK, sinus problems are the pits. Take a shot of badgers scotch and get some rest - plenty of time for trip planning.
Badger, that picture is great!!
Joan, I bet you're relieved your grandchildren aren't going to Russia. That's a scary thought with all that's going on. Sure wish I had grandchildren. My kids are 23 and 25 and I don't see grandchildren in my near future. Too bad - I'd be an awesome Grandmother!!! I'd spoil them rotten and then give them back. I see you're from Long Island. I was born in Rockaway Beach, lived in Patchogue for a few years, and then moved back to Rockaway. Been years since I've been back - I really miss the change in seasons until I see what you're all going through now.
Edited: Joan, just noticed that adorable girl in your avatar. Is that your daughter, or grandchild? What a cutie pie!!!

Well, THIS Goddess is having hot cocoa with a good friend and DH this morning, sitting snug and warm watching the birds at the feeders - my goodness, they are ravenous! - and watching the snow accumulate. Wish you could all join us - wait - I will have DH fix another batch of coca for all of you, and I will put on the cinnamon-raisin toast for a wonderful weekend breakfast!
Maybe get back to that trip planning after the weekend .... am just being lazy and loving today. Hugs, y'all!

Slow........I had homemade soup, which both my daughter and grandson ate, and then my grandson at 2 tuna fish salad sandwiches (loves it....) and I make it with celery, onion powder, mayo.......and it has to be white albacore in water.......2 glasses of sweet tea, and 3 ice cream sandwiches.........my daughter brought her own P & J......she is on medication which makes her nauseous, so she has to be careful what she eats.........but she loved the soup.
It was nice having the company, even for just a couple hours.........
Gonna get snow tomorrow.....iffy on how much....then another one on Wednesday into Thursday.........possible warm up after that..........
Another grandson leaves Monday for St.Louis, Mo...he will be living there for 2 years....took a promotion and a move with his employer......my daughter is very upset......
Another boring day today.
