Just didn't want the doc to hear the clinking of glasses and beer bottles. Or the music! They always look at you funny when they hear that. Then they get distracted and start looking around the room. Don't want that if you be gettin stitches.

I'm out and flatter than a pancake.
My PS said all looks good and this should heal up fast now. He also said then we can go back and rebuild!
Going to eat and get a cocktail! I've earned it today

Cocktail sounds good. I'll have one with you! Glad it went well - let the healing begin!
0 -
4........good news.........enjoy that cocktail, and whatever you eat........on 2nd thought.......drink your meal.......LOL

Kracker I will slip my broom in and then if the farts and other ofendertainment gets too much we can go off for a little ride. I am sure Rae would really enjoy some fun.
As a friend always said, loud and proud or silent and violent!!!

4sew, congrats, and I will be happy to join you and Slow for cocktails! (notice the plural!). Hoping you heal quickly and uneventfully.
Alyson, keeping you in my heart and hoping the best for the storm. I have lived in tornado territory most of my life, and have seen how devastating Mother Nature can be, so hoping she is kind to you.
Now ladies, I can see there has been quite a discussion about who is entertaining, who is or is not going to get on the bus, who wants whose blood, etc. I see that I have several options here: I can go into "dean" mode and deal with each of you individually and then as a group, I can go into "peacemaker" mode (I am quite good at that -not bragging, just seems I have a gift for getting groups to work together), I can just sit back and have a jolly laugh, enjoy the fireworks, or I can jump in stir the pot a little (I am also VERY good at this, probably better than peacemaker!).
From my perspective, FK, you just simply MUST be on the bus. It is only logical. You are an integral part of this group, one of the foundational members, you have so many talents that we all appreciate (well, except maybe the farts). I especially am looking forward to your socializing up and down the aisle because that is so much fun, and I don't really have the energy to do that myself, so you see, you really have to help me out here. And I think you absolutely MUST bring that broom along for various side trips that maybe some want to go on but others may like to just stay put in one place for a short bit.
Now for Ducky. I can see you are just so excited about this trip, and you are really stirring the pot with FK, so I may have to remind the two of you to "play nice" together. Once we get this on the road, I am sure things will settle down. You are doing a GREAT job coordinating the list, and I think starting in the Southeastern part then heading north to pick up everyone is a good plan. Then up to Canada, down the West Coast, across to Australia .... did we have anyone from Europe or other areas? That is quite a lot of traveling to get everyone on board, but then maybe we should head for Alaska first, then PR, then we could start dropping people off in the very same order that we picked people up in, so everyone actually gets to do the WHOLE trip (if that makes any sense).
I know FK is bringing her own food, but I haven't heard anyone else comment about this.
And we definitely need the servers that have been lined up. I think we should also make sure someone or several someones are assigned to keep the toilet facilities sparkling. A long bus trip can result in a pretty offensive water closet!
Drinks. Another issue. Some aren't drinking alcohol, and usually I don't, but I think I am gonna enjoy any food or drink that sounds good on this trip, so we need to be sure we have a well-stocked pantry for on-bus consumption. But we should plan to enjoy the local cuisine wherever we travel as well.
GmaF, Slow, Red, and everyone else here - you all seem to be behaving yourselves pretty well so far, just keep it up! We have got to keep Ducky and FK in line here .... I think this trip was their idea to start with(?) so let's make it a great one!
Any departure date yet? I haven't started shopping or packing yet. Then again, maybe I will pack light and just buy stuff along the way as I need it, that way I will end up with a whole new wardrobe!
Hugs, y'all!!!!

Hey Slow - whenever you get up here, hot chocolate sounds great (or one of those lovely cocktails) - but mostly I drink tea. I always have loved coffee - but I love it with cream and cream and I don't get along really well anymore. We had a falling out a few years ago and have never truly made up again.
I cannot keep up with this (or any other) thread. I can't spend too much time on the PC, as my arm/shoulder gets TOO PAINFUL!!! But I do read and laugh and try to keep up that way.
44444 - don't worry too much. It'll all work out. The problem with having a plan is that (as you've seen) plans fail. No plan - well, that's harder to fail at... I had a DIEP - that was quite the trip. If this cancer $%^& comes back, I wouldn't do it again. Does the PS say that the fluid is from your arm? The PS told me (when I had drains in) to STOP DOING STUFF. He said that was the reason the drains would never stop. Finally after 6 weeks he pulled them, as he simply couldn't leave them in any longer and I had to do compression. I probably should have written down all the crap that happened to me (as hubby kept telling me to), but I didn't and now a lot of things run together in my totally inadequate brain.
Oh and if y'all won't let me on the bus (I'm a really good navigator, I tell you!!), then I'll just stand and cheer as y'all go by.

Psssst. GmaF, Slow & 4, we seem to have Linda totally fooled about how good we are behaving. Don't tell her about the magic restrooms. Or the unicorns. Thanks.

Gardengumby, I have the same problem with things running together in my brain. I kept a chemo log for the first year of my cancer journey, and continued it long after chemo, then quit doing it because it seemed to be just the same old thing, day after day. And the days continue to run into each other. Nice to see you checking in occasionally, sorry about the grief your arm is giving you.

Also, Red, GmaF, Slow, 4, and anyone else out there - I AM WATCHING YOU!!!!! Don't you go getting too cocky!
0 -
Linda.......sounds like you have a great plan.............maybe you should handle the "travel" part of the trip............Slow is handling the food I think, and someone else, but can't remember who............yes we can stop anytime and enjoy the local cuisine...........
By the way we are not going to Australia...........Aly is in New Zealand.......my mistake..........so check that off the list.........I can't read a map, and have no idea where all the states are, other then knowing where the ladies live.............when it comes to getting everyone there.............I am hopeless, but you sound really good in that area...............
As far as FK goes...........trust me......she will be on that bus............or I will tell Veggy, and she does not want that to happen...............already told Veggy once...........and plan on telling her again.........She can have the job of "social butterfly"..............she is use to that.......she comes from Brooklyn you know, and was the only female in a room full of poker playing men...........hmmmm so she knows how to "work a room"...............
So get packing ladies.........keep in touch.........and soon we will be going...........we just need a date...........
Red..........give us the high sign when your done Rads...............
Ok, I'm done..........

Can't speak for the others, but I'm very well behaved!

Ladies I have been busy, Thanking many of you for the warm reception to the bus and the thread. Tomorrow is the (2nd) largest St Patty's day celebration in the country...so I say...who is in for partying like it's 1999??????
Convergence on Southwestern PA would be awesome, thrilling and downright topsy turvey!
Get your green on ladies for tomorrow (yes I know it's early) we are all IRISH!!!! The magic bus is going green and non ya have anything to say about it except to grab your gear and beer, beads and cheer and carry on like no tomorrow. So pre-departure is going on in PA for as long as anyone likes. We have a whole week to celebrate those darned green (or orange) people!
FYI...we have an "amphibian-like" boat mobile that is known as Ducky tours....seriously??? Looks like Ducky gets the first turn at the wheel...........
Look out for that cloverleaf!!

Now then ladies dats just vat we need a Green Paddywagon!!!
0 -
But maybes we could travel like this?
0 -
Ok goilies! I have changed the plan! I called Scottie and on April 1st at noon Eastern time he is going to beam everyone to the bus. Then we are all starting off together and , hmmm, I don't know, April Fool's Day just sounded like a logical start for this group! So get packing!
It's a magic bus, so if you have seen the show, you know it can go anywhere and turn into anything we want, like a submarine. So when we are down under I say we take a trip to the Great Barrier Reef!
Since it's magical, it pops from place to place so we don't lose travel time. So everyone post one place they want to go and I will make a schedule. Then Slow can plan the food and find local Fare to sample! And Kracker can plan her entertainment. We can book a gig In each spot for our comical Gypsy Talent Show to earn enough to pay whatever tab we run up in that location.
I got the servers, chauffeur and porters, and custodial services covered. Everything will sparkle and be right on time! Oh and I added On Bus Spa Services!
And for the rads girls or anyone with appointments or commitments they must be present for, Scottie will beam you from the bus and back. You won't miss a thing!
Now, go get packing. 4 suitcase maximum and 20 pair limit on shoes! Personally, like Linda, I plan to shop along the way!
0 -
I've decided to bring my magical suitcase. Whenever I want something, I just reach in and voila, there it is. I'm not a lover of retail therapy, so I won't be doing a lot of shopping, but if I do, I just put it in the suitcase. Kind of like Mary Poppins and her suitcase.
I would like to visit Australia and meet Chrissy. I know she will put us all up for as long as we'd like. Aly has had face time with her and I'd like some too.
So can you put Australia on the list please?
0 -
You guys are really preparing......plan sounds great to me...........what a fun trip this is going to be........April Fools Day sounds like the "only" date for us..................LOL..........
Hey FK......your limited to 20 pair of shoes...............LOL.........better not bring those CFM shoes.....remember the Chippendale guys are gonna be there, and you might just turn them on...LOL
0 -
You got it Red! I also think we should stop in everyone's hometown so we can give tours of our favorite stuff. Probably shouldn't perform there though, especially in those smaller towns. After all we gotta live there when this trip is over!
I think we should plan to be gone until labor day! With Scottie beaming us back and forth for essential meetings and appointments and Fire Krackers broom for side trips and emergencies, that should not be a problem, EH? ( that was for you Red!)
0 -
LMAO...............44444444444.........you got a plan girl....................can't wait..............think FK will allow us to use her broom...................
0 -
Lol 4, I try not to use it too much when I am writing, but we really do say it quite a bit in Canada, eh? More like a request for agreement than a question or statement. You used it perfectly!
0 -
My kids, especially the oldest is fascinated with Canada. Likes cold weather and thinks he wants to move there. I say he will shovel once and want to come back south!
I suggested he look at schools there, but maybe I can ship him to you next winter for a trial run, Eh?
