Happy Birthday, Jo (or is it belated birthday yet??)! Here are some fresh flowers from my garden for you:

Tossing in family drama. No intentional drama, just the way things work out. My mom is a Winter Texan, lives near Jo actually. Was driving back to her home in IL and stopped by to see me for a few days and take care of me for a while since I am having a hard time getting my garden in between chemo sessions. Well, she developed complete heart conduction block, so ended up in the ER yesterday with a pulse rate of 30, got a temporary pacemaker yesterday afternoon, and likely will get a permanent one today. Meanwhile today I have chemo. Called in my troops - my sisters are helping out, one came up from the south yesterday, will tag-team with one from the north in a few days. I am blessed, but Lordy, I could do with a little less stress, a little less coming-and-going in my house!!!! Am heading to the fire tonight with a full bottle of whiskey!!!!
Ducky, that little Grayson is just precious! Thank you for sharing her triumphs with us! This is the stuff that makes life worth the living, isn't it?

Yes our Grayson adapted nicely to her Upsee......we were so thrilled, being concerned she might not like this new experience, but now she asks to go into it...........she says "Daddy let's dance".........there are many volunteers to walk with her, but she has to start out slow, and build up her stamina for being able to do it longer...........her "core" is very weak, so she cannot stand upright for real long........all that hopefully will come later..............thanks for your thoughts..........

Piper..............OMG.....you brought tears to my eyes when you called her "our little mascot".......I'm not sure everyone knows how much the love and affection from this website, and this thread means to me and my family..........they see everything you all write, and are overwhelmed by the love.......
One day we have to meet.........we are in Pa., so maybe we can make that a "deal"......thanks again, and "hey" enjoy your "beer"............LOL..................my husband use to say "nothing like a cold one".

Since I checked in here a few minutes ago, I went from tears of joy over Grayson's new lifestyle...to LMAO over Ducky trying to get the extra spotlight with a double BD celebration...
Seriously, Jo, Happy Birthday, the first in retirement...can you remember your life before work? I hope and pray that this year brings you all that you need and much that you want...and joyful unexpected blessings. Yes, thank you for starting this thread, and for being there when I first came to BCO. You were a special and beautiful sister on Stage 1 Sisters and I did hang on your words - usually filled with practicality and wisdom. You've always made me feel peaceful ... you are just that way ... and it's special. I hope we meet up someday!
