Kracker, I'm hoping the trip happens too! We've got to do this while we can!! It will be so much fun - I'm so excited at the prospect of meeting you all!! You'll have to make a list of the things you want to see while you're here.
IamNancy, I'm with you on the house thing. I can't wait to sell this house and get something smaller. I think we will be here for at least three more years though. It's just too much to maintain.

Ducky & mostlymom, I understand what you're saying about Facebook. I think the whole information gathering just annoys me. I've been a Facebook holdout for years. My sister LOVES Facebook. She's a Facebook junkie!!

alyson you and chrissy are both so lucky to see each other. chrissyb has talked me down several times, and i loved loved loved reading her adventure on BCO! she was just great, and all the women she met, and i would love to go see you guys both too, i have allways wanted to go to australia and new zealand too.

hi all, I'm here mostly on the weekend anymore, time seems to evaporate during the week. Yes, we are planning a trip to California next June, not sure of date yet. (We being a group of ladies from the Let's Post our Daily Exercise thread. 2015 will be our fifth annual get-together!) I'm booking through my mom's timeshare. The first week of June is sold out and I have to wait until next week before it'll show me dates for the second week in June. Alyson, do you know when you're going to be in San Diego? It would be great if we could get to meet Ducky & FK! Kathe, next time for sure, eh? Beppy, pls let me know if/when/where you visit WI next year, I would drive to meet you! ♥ u ladies

we would like to downsize our dwelling too. we have a shop down stairs where we make stuff, it is filled with tools and materials, and stuff I mostly dragged dragged home, not him. and over the years, we have accumulated a buncha stuff. so, one day, just a few months ago, i think we were walking around the house together, and we said at about the same time, "we have too much crap!" because, even if we like it, we don't have time for it all. and we are never gonna get around to doing all the things that only a few short months ago we thought we had time for. we are not hoarders exactly, we just are artists and we use things for inspiration. i even have a collection of knot holes i have saved, because i wanted to make a small table, and drill out holes, and add the knots to it! toldja i was a weirdo! but the knots represent where a branch was, and they have a kind of beauty.... morning to all the best souls in the world

We downsized - our house now is 1/2 the size of our last one. I really like the smaller yard and house. Originally we had planned on a fair bit smaller than what we ended up with. This house, though, has a family room and living room. I wish it was just a great room, as we never use the living room, so it ends up being wasted space. Overall, though, it's a good house. I'll post some pics one of these days...

We downsized from a big old farmhouse we rented in the country to a tiny house (800 sq ft) we own in town. Most of our stuff is in boxes in the basement. We'd like more space but it's convenient and cheap.

convenient and cheap are two really good reasons to live somewhere... If we had any less space we would have had to sell more stuff - and we were starting to get to the stuff that I really didn't want to sell.0 -
Slow - where in So Cal are you exactly? I think I've told you I am from Riverside originally. We will be in Upland sometime in June next year. We are going to seemy brother and his wife. I am also going to meet a bco sister I started emailing about 4 years ago. I am sooooo excited. Gotta know when this party with FK, Ducky and the other goddesses is going to be and where. We don't have set dates for our travel plans yet.

FK, there are so many people going GF these days, GF menus are everywhere. But apparently not on AmTrack. I just checked their website. Start making a fuss now, maybe they will by next summer!

Jo, I am in Murrieta. I thought we could have a big party at my house- I'm doing homemade Italian food for everyone. We will also cook something GF for Kracker. Hopefully we can coordinate with the exercise girls. It would be fun to have a slumber party - in case anyone had wine or drinks with dinner. Then you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. I have two spare bedrooms that I've offered to Kracker and Ducky. One has a queen size bed and the other a full size. I also have a queen aero bed that's very comfortable. I've got two couches and two love seats. Maybe I could get some more air mattresses if everyone wants to stay over. Kathe said she will be staying over too.
Kracker, my husband and I will learn to cook GF meals when you're here. I want to make sure your tummy is good while you're in California. I don't have a solution for the GF on the train though.

Yes! We need a date. Anytime in June is good for me. We have a trip planned to go back east, but we won't do that until September. If it doesn't work out that we can't get everyone together at the same time, I'll just have TWO parties!!!
IamNancy, I want to have a yard sale too. I've got this need to clean out everything and get rid of all our junk. My husband likes to save EVERYTHING. I want to go through all my closets and just chuck it all!!

i wanted to have a big garage sale, but the house sale went so weird. It looked like it was going to fall through so we went to California on a business trip. It closed when we were down there. We had to get home find a place to rent and move in less than 5 days. No time for a garage sale. What didn't go to the rental went to storage. For awhile we had a pod (stuff we knew we wanted) plus 2 additional storage units. We sold or goodwilled a bunch of stuff. After we bought a house and unpacked we found more things to unload. I figure our kids can throw out the rest of what they don't want after we kick off....

Wow think it is so awesome that you are planning a trip....to see people in person is so cool....I loved spending time with Joan, Ducky and the Kracker, we bonded in a cool way...it was too short, we need to do it again...wish we could before it got cold. One of my regrets not that I really have them but it is not having a pension, cause I love to travel and that is what I would be doing now that I am feeling good.Happy Saturday
