Shit happens especially when our kids have kids and their kids have kids..It seems everyone I talk to has the same story...who can't come,who don't like who,who wants to come but can't...same shit,different day.
My family used to come to PA for thanksgivings,,,not now they don't...I despise my Russian DIL...so my son will not come without her
My GS has a new baby so he is out
My GD lives in Fla.with my GGdaughter so they r out
And my DD lives in fla too so she is out
I'm to the point now I really don't give a shit...I did my job....im done caring who talks to who..etc.
That's my story and im stickin to it
Less work for me...I have enuf with cookin every day for myself with the GF
This is finally y time and im takin advantage of it
I even learned to say no....that was a biggy

Dear Ducky - I am sending hugs to you.. Traditions seem to go by the wayside quite alot. If it wasn't for my 2 grandsons that want to see grandma. - I'm sure we would be in the same boat...

Well let me chime in.. thanksgiving the dil Always goes 2 her grandmothers so i never see those gc, bhut my son always comes here we watch fb, so this year 4 ddinner it is me the twins til michael has 2 work n tommy, i wont see the girls or the other grandchildren.
4 Christmas a tradition was started about 7 years ago that dd2 would have xmas breakfast, now dd1 wasn't speaking 2 anybody 4 6 years. It is only my family that goes, the house is small n like 18 people go, sometimes the idiot she married has people stop over. Well i decided that i really can't stand being around him he is abusive to me n her anyway he threw me out of her house twice after calling me psycho bitch.. so i am notvgoing this year, dont want 2 b around him. My son n the twins r not going n my ex is only cause his nu wifey is making him. I will go n see their gifts when he is not there. Nobody comes over my house 4 xmas dd2 goes with his family all holidays, my daughter is speak ing 2 us now but she has a bf so they r together. Now 4 xmas dinner have been going 2 sons house 4 dinner, well dil makes dumb stuff, food i hate n george n inever eat. The twins usually go to their grandmother n their father is there n that part of the family. This year i will b sick on xmas n the twins will go, n i will b fine. Just sai not 4 nothing else, i am here longer than i thought i would b n every holiday i think is the last one 4 that particular one. They don't care or don't get it. N oh btw went 2 get a turkey n it was 24.00 4 a 12lb wth, didnt get it. That was the cheapest place around here. I am not cooking george (one of the twins )wants 2 cook it n my oldest son said he will help..i need 2 watch with the oxygen...i have no dishwasher but me.

GMa.............I am so happy for your good news, so sad for your bad news.........I miss my furbaby Mark so much.......but I did hold on to him too long.....he had dementia,was blind, lost his hearing, but I could not let myself end his life......but I had to..........he was a rescue along with his ant who was 13 when got th 2 of them........Mark was .......he lived to the age of 13.......here he is with his diaper ......LOL.....

Mommy...here goes.....I start to type and it all goes ok....in the middle of a paragraph I'm hitting the keys and it is crawling from letter to letter.....I type fast, so imagine how annoying that is.....right now I'm dong fine.....watch, and I will tell you when it starts......ok, it is slowing down now........LOL......WTF is going on..................ok........it happened agan..............nowherere else......just here....ok I'm pissed.........

Ducky, I'm no computer expert but maybe try a different browser? Mom's iPad came with Safari, which IDK.
We finally got a new PC running Windows 8.1 and actually like the ease of use once you get used to the tiles.
Not happy with having to pay a fee every year for Microsoft Office but WTH I paid once for many years of XP.

Yikes! Families are hard! I have been dealing with family problems pretty heavily for several weeks now, we started early! I am so glad I live in los ang with my manfriend for 15 years, so mush easier. But its still like, if somebody invites us, that is for sure the day we both want to stay home! We love our quiet little life! His family is not as crazy as mine is. I am sorry for hurt feelings all around. We should be thankful for every day, right? And we can pick and choose who we will spend time with on any given day right? And just love our people up how ever we can. In a way, I think families are unnatural, and the friends that we find are the true families of our hearts.
His sister is coming to our house for thanksgiving, she is a great cook and very funny! The only thing is, her house is immaculately clean and mine is not! So I am cleaning like crazy, while trying to deal with a family crisis of sorts at the same time, long distance! Yikes again! Our dinner that day will be very low-key, with a movie after. Phone calls and texts will take up a good part of the morning. And then I can sort of relax and get some other things done in december, I am hoping to be making some of the gifts i will give for Christmas....No drs appointments that I know of, altho I eed to call them with my suspiscions, and I have new onset of lymphedema that is now trying to go into my hand, its already now gone to my wrist...etc..

I did pm the mods several days ago. They are working on it. The cursor just really jumps around, and there were some threads that i couldn't post on at all! and it is a second or two behind, kind of a delay when I am tyoing. I am on my regular laptop I always use. love you all

Hi ladies - we're baaaaaack!!!!
I have issues sometimes with the site. I'll be typing and it will just stop. At that point I can't add anything, nor can I erase anything. One thing I have found that works sometimes is leaving this window and going to a different site for a bit. Then I'll come back and it will have freed up. Doesn't happen with anything else - just here. They have some odd problems.....

Got another reason that I won't be going to my mom's for the holiday is that we got up to the news that we are going to be getting snow Wed. into Thurs. Supposed to see half a foot to ten inches of snow!
