Welcome Sabel! I'm usually a lot more fun, but it's been rough lately.

Congratulations RAK! I love, love, love babies!

FK, I hope all is well. Usually when you disappear for a day it's not good news. I hope that's not the case this time.

    I love the milk carton!

I'm sure that the nuthouse is my new home.Happy Family members have suggested that I've belonged there for years - so much for living with your kids as you 'age'. Just as well: they can be boring

Grandgirls, on the other hand, are an echo of meLoopywithout restraint. I have two excellent examples of grandparenting - both gorgeous girls. The older young lady finished her last exam in her second year of university today. Are we all happy for her? You bet!! The younger one is a very impressionable 14 who is earning straight A's in her first year of secondary school. Her mom, our daughter, has told the family that this girl is average. What??? She's doing better than you did at her age.  Of course, II will say nothing about that to her daughter.

Poppy, you don't need to be cheerful if you don't feel like it. Today is a good day for me, but I have bad ones too.

As a retired secondary school teacher, I have seen boys similar to your son in showing no interest in doing what they/he should.

I have to wonder here whether he knows his mom has breast cancer. If you've posted this, I'm sorry I missed it.

Our sons (mine included) have a very special relationship with their moms. When Mom isn't feeling well, they bring the tea and maybe a dry biscuit. I've never been so grateful for a stale cookie delivered with a beautiful smile. Thanks, Dr. Fraser (orthodontist).

If our kids hurt, Mom hurts too and the reverse is true as well, I've learned.

I wonder whether he would benefit from sort of 'counselling', but not the ordinary type - a kind where his voice is heard?

Oh, just one minute, Ducky. I don't mean to brag, but I am all those and more.

The Mile High club? How many times??? Same guy or different guys? This is a case where one guy wins! Other guys??? Not good.

I know I should be on the Bottle of tamaxifen thread writing this.. But. ugh.. it's 2.20'am in the Land of Oz , and I am awake for the 4th time tonight , just burning up.. It's strange, only happens in bed of a night.. I'm fine during the day... Now, I don't know what the solution is.. I don't want to throw the little white pill into the fire.. just in case it is actually helping me.!!

Lucy...........by burning up I assume you mean hot flashes, and not a fever..........

Arimidex, or Femara never did that to me, but then again when I went through change I never got a hot flash then either......not one........

I was never on Tamox....cause I was years past that drug......actually my MO was going to put me on that after I quit Femara, but I have had 6 deep vein blood clots.....so it was a no no for me.....

So we are trying Arimidex now, and it is doing the same SE's as Femara did..........will do the 30 I filled, and then will probably stop again..............

imageimageimageFK your right......that shit stinks, and it lasts a long time..........especially bad when you go out and then come back into the place...

Hopefully a nice day would work....you could open your windows......but then you have to deal with all the shit outside that kills our allergies.......guess its a lose, lose..............worst thing is its probably the formaldahyde (sp?) in the backing....................they say its not used anymore, but I don't believe that for one minute........

I know you want me off the pill and I do too.......just want to give it a chance, but I am losing my patience with it..............

Re-arranged my family-room this morning........can't blame those aches and pains on Arimidex.....LOL..wanna see........image

Welcome back Kracker!! Glad your appointment went well. Such good news about the weight. I guess those recipes are working well!!

Ducky, that little guy is just adorable!! You have so many Grands, I think you should just give me a few. hahaha
I remember when we were little my Italian Grandparents used to pinch our cheeks. Why did they do that??? It used to hurt so much. I would never do that to a kid!!

Lucy, I still have hot flashes. They drive me insane. I purchased a tower fan with a remote, and I have it set up right next to my side of the bed. I spend all night turning it on and off. But, it does help considerably.

Ducky, I love the way you arranged your furniture! It looks very cozy. You have the same color walls as I do. I have carpet though and hope to have hardwood or laminate on the bottom floor someday. I HATE carpet.

I love looking at decor. My DD had me get a Pinterest, and I could spend ALL day looking at decor and yards.

DH and I just got back from Sam's Club. He is moving pavers to our backyard today. He only has to move about 280 of them. lol I hope he can walk when he gets finished.

    Happy Saturday to all!!

Sitting here trying to figure out what to make for dinner that I can make enough to put away for later this week, especially for after the surgery so if I don't feel like cooking, we can just pop it into the microwave to heat up.

Beef stew freezes well. Also any kind of soup.

Ducky, where do you sit when you're on BCO. In that rocker chair?? Then whenever you're on, I can picture you sitting there!! We should all post pictures of our BCO SPOT!! Mine is a rocker - mine reclines and rocks at the same time.

I too am changing things around...downsizing this little box

imageSlow......here isi the chair........and the view I have from the chair when I watch TV........feeling down today........beautfiul shore day here, so of course I think about my husband and how we would have left last night to go down, and would be doing all shore thngs today......just he and I before all the craziess began...........

So instead I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself and thinking how blessed all the women are who got to grow old with their husbands.....had I wrote the book.....it would have had a different ending.....

My anniversary is May 5th........we would have been married 59 years..................We only got to share 35.......

Guess i better turn off my Bose and stop playing the 50's Oldies......only makes it worse.........

Well anyway here is the chair.....guess I got carried away whining.......sorry..........image

Now why did I know that your chair would be purple??? I was thinking that before you even posted it Kracker!!

Ducky, I love your wall until with all of the photos. I'm sorry you're feeling down today. You were certainly robbed of your time with your DH. My sister is going through the same as you. Her anniversary is May 6th. The two of you have so much in common. She lost her DH to Parkinson's just a few years ago. Definitely not what they had planned for their retirement. You lost yours so young though. It just doesn't seem right. You can whine away any time you want. That's what we are all here for!! We keep each other going.

I will take a picture of my "spot" after I'm done cleaning my house today!! haha In an attempt to return to life of the living, I'm having my nephew over for dinner tomorrow to celebrate his birthday. I guess it's time to stop being a hermit. I think I'll even get out of my jammies tomorrow. hehe
