So...whats for dinner?

I made veggie pizza on boboli bread. I spread pizza sauce generously over it, added motzerella, and feta cheese, and lots of red, yellow, and orange peppers, onions, and olives. It was super tastey, and DH and I ate the whole thing.

Hope your day wasn;t a wash out.
Hauntie- I was also gonna say what michelle said, could be anemia, my dad had it real bad and started taking lots of vit b and magnesium after a few days he stopped having the restless leg syndrome. I hope it gets better and you are able to sleep tonight.
Carrie- I love blackened anything, fish, steak, chicken even my hamburgers once in awhile- Hope the chicken chowder helps with your DH grumpiness. ;-)))
Apple-When i went to ky last month i took 2 jars of the peppadews with me, my friends went crazy over them, my friend asked the manager at her local walmart if he could order some for her and he did, maybe you can ask your local grocers to stock it, if not i would be happy to send you a couple of jars, just let me know.

Re my RLS. These attacks are infrequent - weeks/months go by without one. I don't know what triggered it this week. I know I don't have anemia, since I just had blood work last week. I'm also taking potassium because I'm on diuretics. I just know I hate them and that I need to get some sleep. Especially tonight. I want to be well rested for Pickety Place tomorrow.I looked up some info on RLS that said pain meds can help. Those I have. I'm going to try it tonight and hope it helps,
The weird thing is that these attacks never happen when I nap during the day or early evening. Only when I go to bed for the night. I was out all afternoon with my cousin and I'm fighting falling asleep right now. I don't know whether to just fall asleep, so I can get whatever sleep I can or stay up, so hopefully I can sleep tonight. Although with my insomnia - napping/not napping doesn't seem to matter. I know if I sit down in my recliner, right now, I'll be out like a light. I'm leaning towards giving in to sleep.

Oh - I meant to tell you all what's for dinner tonight (if I can stay awake long enough to eat it). Leftover store bought rotisserie chicken and leftover pre made mashed potatoes And the left over HOMEMADE tomato and cucumber salad. Here' s the "recipe" for the salad - slice fresh garden or farm stand tomatoes and cucumbers in a bowl, drizzle on some oil, sprinkle with some italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Let it sit until the juices flow from the tomatoes. You can add a little vinegar as well, but my mother never did. My father could eat a whole bowl of this for dinner, with italian bread, on hot summer days. He likes his ice cold. I prefer mine at room temperature. The best part - for me (as with the family gravy) is dipping that bread into the juice. Maybe I'll just eat that right now and forego the chicken and potatoes?0

I gotta get me some of those.

RLS, is that when you are trying to go to sleep and you get the sensation to stretch your legs constantly? If so, that happens to me once in a while, very annoying.

Debbie - That's it. Maddening, isn't it.0

I read that it is the lack of dopamine in the brain, WTH is dopamine?
0 -
Debbie - This is from Psychology Today "Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain's reward and pleasure centers. Dopamine also helps regulate movement and emotional responses, and it enables us not only to see rewards, but to take action to move toward them." I read that In severe cases of RLS they can treat you with medication used to treat Parkinson's. Since Parkinson's is caused by a dopamine deficieny, it makes sense that lack of dopamine has something to do with severe cases of RLS.0

Hi ladies! I spent the day with the grandkids, we went to see The Lion King in 3D, and then we went to my SIL's parents for dinner. In the meantime, DH went to a golf tournament that took just a little too long, and my daughter ended up bringing me home because I was soooo done! I am planted on my couch and the only other place I'll be going is upstairs to bed. Need to rest up for tomorrow's excursion to Pickity Place.
Zumbagirl - your pizza sounds yummy!

Today was my mom's 85 b-day. Had a party for her at my sis's house. Real nice time. Several cousins had tix to the Phillies game today or it would have been a bigger crowd, but my mom really enjoyed it. I made meatballs, sausage and ribs, and everyone raved about all of them!!
Hauntie, I used to have restless leg syndrome. I actually was afraid I was going crazy. It was terrible. My DH told me ot put a bar of soap under my sheet. I thought it was a ridiulous idea, but it actually worked. I'm not sure where he heard it. '
Have a great reswt of the weekend everyone!!

I just wanted to pop in real quick so you all know I am still out there! We had a very busy day with the party and I am pooped. At 9:30 I am the only conscious being in the house with a pulse, even the dog is passed out. So perhaps I should try to join them! Although I don't usually head to bed early.
See you ladies tomorrow at Pickety Place, anyone I have told that I am going there says how wonderful the place is! 12:45 reservations right? Also, what is the dress code? Is there one or is it casual?
Hope everyone had a great day!

Laurie - can't wait to see you tomorrow. No dress code, you'll see people dressed up (especially because it's Sunday "after church") and you'll see people in jeans. Be comfy! And yes 12:45. We are planning on arriving a little early to walk around in the gift shop.
I'm going up early tonight.

Ladies:
I just discovered your wonderful thread earlier this week. Since I'm a computer dinosaur - can anyone help? I want to go back & read all from the beginning & have been doing a little every day. Now the site keeps opening at the last page (98) when selected from my favorites. I tried deleting from favs & re-selecting. No luck. Is there any way to choose the page you want to go to w/o going back to "1" or up to "98" and moving by twos & threes up or back to where I am?
Thanks

Minustwo- Hi and welcome. I think i understand your question but i dont think you can just punch in a page number as far as i know you have to do first or previous or the numbers inbetween, if im wrong im sure one of these wonderful ladies here will chime in- Happy reading LOL!
And again, Have fun tomorrow all you all at pickety place!!!

Laurie- Loved that picture,n so cute! are those the ones you adopted?

Minus Two - welcome, welcome!!! I think I understand your question, and I have a suggestion for you to try:
When you want to access this thread, approach it from "My Home" and it should be in the list of your favorite threads. I think it will show you the "unread" posts and when you click on the thread, it SHOULD take you to where you left off. I hope this works because this is one long discussion thread and I haven't figured out how to go to a specific page. Perhaps it's something we should suggest to the moderators!
I went to bed at 9:30 last night and I was asleep at 9:35...lol! Very uncharacteristic for me. Of course, that meant I was awake at 5 a.m....boo, hiss! So I am drinking my coffee and catching up on The X-Factor, which DH doesn't like. It's background noise while I catch up on all the good stuff on this site!
I don't think we are going to have a "lovely" weather day for our excursion to Pickity Place. It's going to be damp, 60% chance of showers and about 60 degrees. But I am 100% sure that the companionship, conversation and food will more than compensate. DH is supposed to play golf with JoyceK's DH but they may get rained out. I'm sure they'll figure out something else to do. They can strategize over golf courses to play when we meet up with them in Florida later this month.
