ptdreamers: My son got me a job editing and releasing press releases for franchise companies. I live on the west coast and need to be up before the stock market opens - hence, the 3:30 wake up and start work at 4 am. That also means, I have to go to bed somewhere between 7 or 8pm.

I would like to let you know that I have my pathology back from ovary removal, all benign. Now I have piece of mind knowing that I will never get ovarian cancer and have stopped the estrogen fuel. Hello menopause!!! Next step is to remove the fibroadinoma in the right breast that I have had for about 9 years now. Will wait for the next MRI to see if all ok with the cancer breast first.

Just wanted to thank all my wonderful sistas for all the prayers for my Ds.
He has an aneurism on his brain but the first dr feels like it has been there for a while and does not want to operate.waiting for second opinion.this could take forever as I am in a small town in pa and they take all their sweet time.second opinion is in a large hospital and it should be next week.as you probably guessed they hate me here cause I raised all kinds of hell till they took a ton of tests that was slow as shit.
The SUVs.is bad here and I hate the iPad but I'll try to check in when I can.
Once again thanks for all the prayers.
Guess you all know our meeting in NYC has been cancelled.
Love, hugs and kisses to each and every one of you

Granny - Will keep you, your DS and your entire family in my prayers. Let us know what the second opinion reveals. Good for you for raising hell. Unfortunately, sometimes that is what we need to do to get things done. (((HUGS)))

Finally got the copy of my path report from my BMX and there was something I thought was very interesting in it. In my radiated boob I had a hemorrage to the side of my my surgical sight under my nipple. Was not suprised by that as I am very prone to hematomas and my surgeon knew this and took precautions. I really did not bruise very much after this surgery so the fact that I had a hematoma large enough that my body could not absorb the blood and I did not show bruising was kinda weird. But the other thing is on the outer side of my breast where I did not have surgery I also had a hemorrage. I know this one had to be caused by radiation and the surgical area probably was to because when they did my CT for my boost I had healed so well they could not find my surgical site at that point. By the end of rads my nipple area was completley raw and I was in a terrible amount of pain and I think that is probably when the hemorrage happened. Interesting enough these are the two places that I was having such bad nerve pain that I was taking medication for. I guess the hard blood that was sitting in there was pressing on my nerves. Since my BMX I have not had any breakthrough nerve pain which I was having before so my MO has agreed for me to graduate off of my amitriptoline. Yeah one more pill to be gone. Also on my outer side of my breast my skin was still pretty darkfrom rads, but since BMX and TE's it seems to have lightened up a bit. I wonder if the clotted blood in there had something to do with my skin discoloration?
For all of you out there that are still in pain I feel for you. I don't think the Dr's every really figure out what is going on in our bodies as a result of radiation.

Granny glad your back we missed you. Don't feel sorry for me cause the BMX was the best thing I have done through this whole process. I just thought it was interesting that the hemorrages where in the same spot as the pain I was having. But also really weird that I had no noticeable bruises other than my skin looks much better now.

Good news Sherry! Granny, still praying for your son. Have been away from the boards, DH diabetes - and not being a very good patient. Funny how he made me be the perfect patient????
How is everyone?

Granny---so glad you are home...and I am still praying for your son...Dang, we all just need a break, don't we?
Just got back from my dad's last night...I was gone for almost a week (and MIA on the board), but it was so good to get away and just relax...
Now, back to reality...hoping and praying that you all are doing well...praying that all tests come back clean and clear too...

I hope I am posting in the correct forum. It was titled ' after radiation' and I have a question .
Did any of you (ESP those with cancer in left breast) have significant shortness of breath or breathing issues of any kind a few mos after rads? And IF so ...did it resolve/ details ??
Thx for any replies.Best Wishes to all!

Welcome purple32 - I had rads on the left and no I did not have any breathing problems. I did find out that I do have lung damage on that side from rads - go figure and my RO denied that can happen. I don't think CAT scans lie. I'm sure others will come along and let you know of their experience.

Purple32 - I too am left sided and had no breathing problems. I am 2 months post rads.
Jo - my RO told me that I would have a small spot were radiation passed over that part of my lung. He said it would show up on CT scan and I should always tell radiologist of this so would not be mistaken for anything suspicious.

I too got rads on the left side.
no problem with breathing.
Im 1 1/2 yrs out of the rads.
No one told me of the small spot either.

My RO did tell me as well, that a small portion of the lung (right side) would be hit. He said lung problems don't usually manifest till 6 months or a year later....if there are to be any.
I keep thinking this pain I have in the radiated area is LE, I'm wondering now if perhaps my lung is just pissed off?
Have an MO appt on the 28th for tumor marker results. Will ask her then.

I finished radiation March 15. About 1 month after, I started feeling tightness and sometimes some sharp pains. Mostly, when I wake up in the morning, it's super tight. I have to stretch that arm a bit and some days are better than others. It itches quite a bit. I put cream on it daily. I am surprised my symptoms are lasting this long after (2 months), but it sounds like this might be normal. Does anyone try pilates or other exercises? Anything help?

PinkChicago hello and welcome.. Unfortunately, everyone is different.. I am 10 months post rad and have nerve pain in the breast.. I'm medicated with gabapentin and a cream my pain management doc got made for me - It has an antiinflammatory, pain killer and lidocaine in it... I use it when I exercise, being that is when it hurts the most... I have just been able to wear a sports bra part time, within the last week, (I am still a DD) so this last year has really been a pain with no bra.. NOTE: I am an extreme case of bad luck, not everyone is as bad as me.. some just breeze through it and are back to normal sooner... My sister is one of them.. She did great through radiation and just had a few twinges here and there...
We are here for you and ask anything... someone will be able to help..

pinkchicago you might want to try some PT for your stretching. I have a very active yoga practice and my RO thought that would be enough and it was not. 6 months later I finally got my MO to write me a script for PT and it took 3 months to get my range of motion back. PT told me if I had come sooner I could have had it taken care of in 6 weeks. They said the sooner the better after rads. I also had the nerve damage and was on Elavil for it. I have since had a BMX and my nerve pain is now gone and I am in the process of weaning off of the Elavil.

pink - I finished my rads March 22. I too just started with feeling that it was getting tighter and still looks swollen. I have always had the nerve pain (even before cancer) so, while annoying, I'm used to it. I'm not itchy. Saw my RO last week and he said everything looks fine. Will see what a few more weeks are like.
