Marjiemom-I had similar issues with fungal infections under my radiated breast. I now use athlete's foot powder under my breasts every day. No lie. And the infection hasn't been back.

Marjiemom, a good athletes foot spray or powder everyday. As to the why? I haven't experienced this.  I did soak alot in Aveno Oatmeal baths, and still do every so often.

Can someone tell me if hot flashes can be quick like when you get real nervous all of the sudden - I stopped the gabapentin and got the heat sensitivity back.  I'm baffled.

marjiemom you might want to talk to your Dr about Diflucan.  If you have a systemic yeast infection you need to treat it from the inside out.  I have had to do this when I had a patch of yeast on my back that would not clear up.  I finally broke out with a vaginal yeast infection and it two a couple of rounds of Diflucan to get me all cleared up.  Also when my Dad was doing chemo he had mouth thrush really bad which is a yeast infection and his MO had him on a low does daily Diflucan

This problem isn't related to moisture - had it start under the breast where I always keep dry with powder - now it is on the upper slope above the bra - go figure?  I will try the athletes foot powder - maybe that will help . . . sure is a nuisance! Thanks for the suggestion.

Completely unrelated spot, but when my Ds was young, he got impetigo on his upper lip. The doc prescribed bactriiban. I kept putting it on nd his skin was pink and didn't get better. I took him back to the doc and he said the bactriban killed too much bacteria. It killed the bacteria that should have been there to kill fungus, and now he had a fungal infection on his upper lip. Gave him an anti fungal cream and it finally cleared up. I wonder if you have a bacterial infection instead of fungal? Just a thought.

Morning gals...So for the fungal infection do you think Gold Bond Powder would be good?  Also I have a prescription for Fluodinonide, (sp?) for the terrible itching I used to get on one leg.... It finally went away for good, after I took Tamoxifen... I don't know why.....Doctors for 5 years kept trying to give me something to make it go away...I think it just quit on it's own...

I also used Domeboro solution for itching.... Or maybe like Kay says, something like an anti-fungal cream?  Try everything....throw the book at it.  Wink

Yes little Kantalope.... I fell of the danged 2 foot step stool...from the top step.....but I didn't hurt anything....Must be made of rubber!  Just my shoulder hurt that night...Sure scared me though.  Glad I didn't fall on my head!  My Dog just layed there sleeping like, "Could you keep it down a little?"  Ha, ha!

It's only 4 degrees here...and so icy!   Missed you too Princess Kantalope, but knew you were tied up with those boys...(literally?)  Glad you are back to normal...I mean as normal as you can get, and playing cards with the boys.... And honey, I don't even OWN a pair of high heels anymore, ha!  The closest I get to that are my Crocs!

     Tongue out xoxoxo

Hi grannydukes I eat Wasa multi-grains with peanut butter almost every day--to lose weight!!! I hope your stomach issues are temporary and you can get back to regular food.  My mother also used to tell me to put on a few extra pounds.  She said it made a person look "healthy."  In her little village in Hungary the "healthy" girls were the most sought after because all the boys thought they were wealthy--because they had enough food!

Thanks SAb---unfortunately my stomach issues have been with me for a very long time...and as time goes by it only gets worst.i will tell you that nerves play a large role in all of this.....if i get a desturbing phone call i run right to the bathroom......its just the nature of the beast...thanks tho...im getting to love the peanut butter.

My local Nob Hill market has a grinder and the peanut butter is so good--no fat, no salt, just ground up peanuts. If they were organic I would be all set.  Whole foods is too expensive and too far...

I did try the all natural peanut butter.damn it was bad.disgusting and it tasted like shit....my friend tried to give it to the dog who eats anything even he wouldnt touch it...and i paid 8 bucks for a jar of it...yuk!!!!!!!!!!

my onco know exactly what i eat and she is ok with it...i take lots of vitamins,i do eat organic licorice, eat a spoon of coconut oil every day, drink a glass of almond milk and once in a while i eat the grass fed beef and chicken.....im getting used to it and she said keep up with what you are doin....my blood work is great!!!!!!!!

I also eat a small handfull of dark chocolate covered ACIA or blueberries daily...what a diet.and i still gained 10 lbs....thank you GOD.

granny-lol I guess I just like to eat sh*t! And I spread my sh*t on cardboard, which is what those Wasa taste like.  And I wash it down with green tea that tastes like grass that your dog used!

LOL! I know what you mean. I am beginning to get used to eating cardboard too. And I tolerate green tea. I think I will make a cup right now. Saw my PS today. This really tickled my funny bone. I thought I had some scar tissue or maybe fat necrosis at the bottom of my reconstructed breast. It felt really hard. Well there was a reason for that, it was my rib! LOL, but in my defense, it is out of place with the other side. That really gave me a chuckle.

gotta laugh at the shit we eat...i was/am the worst eater in the world.when i tried the almond milk i was at a 26 yr cancer survivors house.she said try it.she knows how i am....so i took a tiny cup and drank it.well i told her not bad but certainly not good.her answer was you dont have to like it you just gotta eat/drink the damn thing.you should see what she eats and drinks.some of her drinks look like sludge...I do believe you are what you eat.....just wondering why im still here!!!!!!!maybe its the vitamens and the ensure...and of course the peanut butter!!!!!!!!

Good Morning all.  There is a new thread on here called 2011 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium...  Things are being posted about what is being presented there this year.  A few interesting things.  One is that new studies show that partial breast radiation (brachyatherapy) has a higher risk of complications and local recurrence than whole breast radiation.  Also the people at Oncotype DX have develop a new test to predict if those with DCIS will benefit from radiation.  Another study being presented if the use of biophosanates in premenopausal women to reduce recurrence rates.  I have thought this one interesting as my MO put me on biophosanaates because of studies he had been reading.  I have not found many women on the boards that are doing this protocal.
