granny praying for your friend Phyllis

Went to my youngest son's and spend Christmas.  We had a blast but the best part is my GD is 5 and it was so much fun watching her excitment about Christmas.  She would not go to sleep Christmas eve so I finally went up stairs and had her go to bed with me so I could get her to go to sleep.  My son and DIL were exhausted  and could not do Santa until she went to sleep.  Took me awhile as she kept talking but I finally got her to sleep.  Poor DIL is pregnant with twins and due in 2 months.  She is big as a house but so cute.  I told her this is the only time her boobs don't look big.  Anyway GD puts out carrots for the rain deer and cookies and milk for Santa.  She was so excited the first thing she did was run outside to see if the raindeer ate their snack, then to see if Santa had cookies and milk and then she ran to the tree.  It was truly priceless.

I've never had a followup visit with my radiologist.  Once I finished the 27 rads I was done.  Is this standard?  I was thinking about that recently and my mammo came out good.

I finished rads in November and have a follow up 3 months later with RO. I think it is standard to check you after rads to make sure you healed. I was surprised when he also made the date for my mammo. I never really felt like he was going to do anything but the rads. I don't think I'll follow up with him beyond that. I was pretty shocked that my BS just dropped, no follow up with her since I left the hospital after sx. She said the PS would follow up. I had mx with immediate reconstruction.

I finish next week,The RO said I would see him in six weeks for a follow up and he would tell me me mammogram schedule. I am assuming it will be more than the once a year I used to do.Makes sense as we want to keep on top of this.Smile

ptdreamers - I saw my RO one week after rads for a "skin check" and I think that was to strictly cover his ass - mine was a moron beyond words.  My MO is the one who is closely following me and schedules my mammos.  I am on a once a year schedule and very comfortable with that.

My RO also had given me a prescription for a mammo the last time I saw him but nothing about a f/u with him.  I think I'll phone there to be sure that I don't need to see him for any kind of f/u.  He does work in the same clinic as my BS but I need to be pro-active so I'll call.  Can't let anything go to chance.

Fitz- My experience is similar to Jo's. No follow up with RO. Very quick meeting with MO every 3 months. Was told to schedule a mammo yearly. After my surgeries, once my 21 staples were removed, I never saw my surgeon again. In south, south, south, south Texas they don't do very well at hand holding. In, out, bye bye love. Lol. At least that's been my experience. I'm sure that there are some more attentive docs down here, I just haven 't found them.

Hi everyone.  My RO and MO are in same facility and work as a team...but my RO saw me one week after rads, then six weeks after and scheduled a 6 month follow up then - I see him Jan 12, have had the appt since June! My MO had been the one scheduling the mammo etc.

Ceez so sorry they don't hold your hand there....my BS literally held my hand at my first appt.  Another friend of ours on this board in Alice Texas couldn't get a doctor to send her for films....28 and stage four mets now.
