Lisa, the pictures are gorgeous as always. I just love the pictures you post!
Hightide and Kathindc, I don't think I've welcomed either one of you and I'm sorry. Glad to have you both!
Your posting so soon after your cataract surgery relieves my mind, Hightide. I have that looming over me also and think I just may do it sooner rather than later. However, I'm not having any effects from the cataract at all, or I don't think I am! Guess I could be compensating unconsciously.
Mary, your GS is such a cutie! I love to see little boys with hats like that.

Kathy,
Thank you for the welcome. I have been lurking and trying to read the previous posts...still working on it. Ya'll can be very entertaining!
You would be amazed at the difference in your vision. I had mets to both retinas and the radiation accelerated the formation of cataracts. My vision was very blurry.
But correcting the blur wasn't so startling. It was the return of color. White is dazzling and blue is just gorgeous. Our lens get yellow with age and it is so subtle you don't realize it.
The repair only requires a local and about 20 minutes. Easiest thing I have done in a long time. Being NPO was the hard part. My morning coffee is an emotional experience/crutch.
Is that poor elephant crying? I still can't watch "Dumbo" with out kleenex. Gets to me faster than "An Affair to Remember".0 -
My eyes have been playing up of late and it is downright annoying! I did make and keep an appointment with the optometrist to get them checked out thinking that my glasses may be the culprit but according to him, my eyes are very healthy. He did say that the vision has changed but not enough to change my lens prescription.......grrrrrr........what a pain. I am still having issues but can do nothing about it.......I guess it's just another little reminder that I'm ageing!........who said that?....me ageing?......not on your life! Can you tell I'm in denial?!.......lol.
Have a good day all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Chrissy - I am in denial with you. I am still wondering how I can have a daughter that is 40. Love you.

My mother told me she didn't feel old until I turned 70...

My father was about 93 when he decided he might be old. He will be 98 in April and is quite sure he is old now.
As for eyes - there was a time when silently, several of us in the office where I worked were wondering about our eyes. No matter how often we cleaned our glasses, things still seemed fuzzy. (I was using my mother's advice always to clean your glasses before calling the optometrist). I came out of my office complaining. Two men and the secretary said the same thing. Then she realized that she had kindly been buying for each of our little offices, really good tissue - with lotion in it. The lotion was making a mess of our glasses! Chrissy, I hope your problem is that simple to fix.

Lassie I to buy the luxurious tissues with lotion and for that reason never use them on my glasses. I buy the little glass cleaning towelettes from the optomotrist or use a microfibre cloth to clean them. Sadly, this leaves me with nothing to blame but age and medication I guess......sigh. Oh well at least Im still walking......lol.
Love n hugs all. Chrissy

Hi Gals: and thanks Sheila for asking about me...
Life has taken an interesting turn for me...Long story short; two trips to the er. the 2nd one, a massive heart attack: the arteries by the "widowmker" were thinned, and not carrying the blood correctly.
I wrote you a PM Isabella. sorry I missed your birthday!
I had the heart attack after I PASSED a stress test. they now know the pain/.bloating i have complained about since chemo was the cause.
During surgery, they had to use IVP dye, which i'm very alergic to, and they think i've had a stroke, along with the heart.
The stents in the heart were successfull, but my speech is slurred, and thinking isn;t the best.. but i'm not so sure thats new lol
Life is going to change again, i'm afraid, but have no idea how, or how much...
Mur has gone back to work, so i'm home alone and choking some, but cant live with a nurse. Gonna see if one of my friends will come to lunch a couple of days. He's an old friend who's wife has died and very well may like to. He's a whiz at the computer, so may help me get my new tower up and running,. talkings hard, typing easier, even with neuropathy!
Hope you all are well.. I sabella, i haven't caught if they've straightened out your pain yet..any progress?
I've missed you all, i'm afraid my visits will be spotty for awhile longer, i'm very weak from the surgery et all..but know, i've thought of, and missed you all.......3jays

Lisa, as always you photos are stunning!
Nancy, how on earth did you force the booming of the paper whites? They are beautiful!
Isabella, how are you feeling? I sure hope your pain has subsided some and you are at least comfortable.
I'm sitting in my chair with my iPad on my lap and typing while I watch and listen to a program on the story of the Taj Mahal and the Prince who built it. The good thing about this program is the accolades that are also given to the craftsmen that actually did the building and decorating..........it is truly fascinating and stunningly beautiful! The Pietre Dura work is amazing! Now that is one place I would love to be able to see first hand!
Hoping you are all having a great day!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
thanx Ladies: all is well now. I got a call from Chrissy this morning, and your postings made me feel so much better. Love and miss you all.3jay

Isabella - did the ER doc ever get anything sorted out for you? Hope your surgery is scheduled very soon and that you have been able to get some relief from the pain. AJ

So glad to hear from 3jays. Now we need to hear from Isabella!
AJ, I'm so happy about your DGD!
It was a strange day here in NC today--2 rounds of snow, but nothing stuck. I went to the grocery store around noon amid the most beautiful snow I've ever seen. Huge fluffy flakes! Then another round (some actually stuck to the deck) this evening, but all has stopped now. We had the clan for dinner tonight with fried chicken, country style steak, rice, asparagus, and homemade angel biscuits. No dessert though. DH decided that he would give up sugar for lent and not to be outdone, I did too. Sometimes I make dumb decisions.

Kathy - Kendall is so excited that she still get to go on the trip with her class to NYC and DC. She is enjoying shopping for a new dress to wear to the Broadway play they will be going to see. She is all smiles these days. We are so blessed to have her home and things getting back to their new normal. Thank for all your prayers for her and the family. It has been a long haul and she still has some healing to do, but at least she is not in the hospital anymore. 37 days was enough! AJ

Chrissy, LOL, i think it is real funny that they call it forcing the paper whites to bloom. All you have to do is put the bulbs in water and in a sunny window. But during this dreary season before spring really gets here it sure is nice to see something blooming.
Lisa those poppies are beautiful. So you grow them and shoot them? Multi talented for sure.
barb, good to see you popping in.
AJ that is so great that Kendall gets to go on her class trip. Just being with her friends will bring healing.
what a treat 3 jays to get some real talk time with Chrissy. That certainly must have brought a smile to your face.
my mouse is not working so since I cannot scroll back and forth, I have lost one post, so this will be short. I still am not seeing exactly clearly and then I caught a heck of a cold (?) so I am back to coughing, I did get started on anti bs very quickly, so hopefully this to shall pass.
nighty night lovely ladies
