Lisa, I would love, love, love to live in or around San Diego. It's just fantastic there. Where do fishing fanatics go to feed their addiction, though?

Chrissy, so glad you got a good verdict from the dr.  I know you'll have a good time at your DD's engagement party, despite all the driving.

Lisa, I love the pics you've been posting.  The yellow rose (my favorite)  is exquisite!  And what an absolutely beautiful baby your son was! I'll bet he grew up into a handsome man!

A church friend of mine who has pancreatic cancer is near death tonight.  She fell and hit her head last night, resulting in a brain bleed, and is now in intensive care on a ventilator.  They plan to disconnect the ventilator after her sister (in route from California) arrives, or that was the last I heard.  She's been sick for almost a year and has really suffered with this.

On a happier note, hope everyone has a great weekend.

Lisa, your son was a handsome baby and I am sure he is a handsome man.  Happy Birthday to the two of you.   You did good!  I am curious about the photo of the mountain and surf.  Was that taken from the bridge to Coronado?  You are a fantastic photographer!

Beautiful baby Lisa! My twin boys will be 45 this spring. Isn't it just amazing that time has gone by so quickly?

How does that happen?! I think there is some kind of magic to having a baby and, in what seems like a flash of time, they are grown ups.

Lisa, how is the ocean fishing there?  Do they catch much - do you know?  My hubby is a fishing afficionado, and one of our criteria about where to live must include salt water fishing...  :)  And right now we are in the hunt for where to make our new home.  (Just sold our house - and moving into an apartment for a few months while we re-center ourselves...)

Oh boy what a weekend!!! DD had her official engagement party on Sunday but on Saturday I drove over to pick up my SIL so she could attend as she doesn't drive. So one 300 kilometre round trip...........Sunday we headed off to the city, spent a wonderful afternoon with the happy couple and catching up with family and friends, then, after a slight detour to take DD1 home as she had a couple of wines, we headed straight for Wallaroo to drop SIL off and them head home. Total driving for Sunday? A very tiring 500 kilometres! Thank goodness it was a long weekend here and I could just rest yesterday.

Lisa I remember that view but not that much snow on the mountains...........what can I say, lovely! I keep telling DH how nice San Diego was but I'm not sure if I've convinces him to make the effort and go for a trip.......lol........it's hard enough to get him to go to the city from here which is only a couple of hours away..........lol. He is a bit of a stay at home person.......sigh!

Hoping you are all well and had a good weekend.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

    Lisa, that's lovely!

Glad you got through with all your weekend driving, Chrissy.  Sounds like it was a very nice party, and I'm sure everyone's getting all excited.  When's the date of the wedding?  Do you have your "mother of the bride" outfit yet?

I so wish we'd hear something from Isabella.  Isabella is a FB friend, and nothing's been posted there.  She's said before that her daughter's on FB, but I've no idea of daughter's name.

My friend with pancreatic cancer died Saturday morning and her funeral is tomorrow afternoon.  The visitation was tonight but we didn't attend  because DH was sick.  (Hope he just has one of those short-lived viruses!) If he's not well enough to attend the funeral, I'll go alone.

We kept baby Aiden for a couple of hours yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Friday will be the test, though.  DIL's mother is coming to teach DIL more about computer billing for the business she has, and we'll have both boys for the first time.  I imagine 3 year old DGS will try to keep DH outside with him all day.

Lisa, another beautiful flower! I want to wake up and look out your window tomorrow. LOL

Chrissy, hope you have rested up from all the weekend driving! Great that it was for a happy occasion.

Kathy, I am so sorry for your friend.

I have heard from 3jays. She wanted me to say hello. She has some good days, so that is really, really good.

Well, I went to the city today to see my dermatologist. I was going to try to convince him to move me to yearly check ups instead of every 6 months. But they found two spots to biopsy. One is on my neck and the other on the back of my shoulder. BAH Humbug!!! I have to go back next week to get the stitches out and discuss tx options. Hopefully not surgery again.

Kathy I am sorry for your loss.

MacAttack  I need to go to the dermatologist myself. I hope you dont need further treatment.

My father in law was in the hosp to get a pacemaker and they discovered yesterday that he has  metatastic gallbladder cancer. It appears it is rather rare and he probably wont be with us very long.  He is 87.

DH scheduled a long weekend back home for Easter.  I checked with airlines about what compassionate fare would be when the time comes and it is in between advance fare and last minute fare would be. A lot but less than they could charge you last minute.  The man survived a long bout of myasthenia gravis and now this.

I finally made appt for the sleep study and for onc check up and dexa scan. Now if I could get the practice to answer their phone or return calls I would schedule the neurologist for the normal pressue hydrocephalus review? or whatever it will be.

    Love you all

Ginger, I'm so sorry about your father in  law.  I don't believe I've ever heard of anyone getting gall bladder cancer before.  Hope your husband can find a reasonable fare to get to see him.

Let us know about the sleep study.  I remember my sleep dr. prescribed a short acting sleeping pill called Sonata for me before mine, since it's hard to get to sleep in a strange place, hooked up to electrodes, etc., but my sleep study was back in 2004.

Nancy, well at least you'll stay on top of things going to the dermatologist every 6 months.  I'm due to go back to mine for another skin check too.  The last time he removed a cyst from my back and didn't quite get the anesthetic shot right--had to keep telling him to put more in.  So, not looking forward to seeing him again.

My friend's funeral was good, or at least as good as a funeral can be. It suited her.  She'd been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last April.

The ACC basketball tournament starts tomorrow so I'll be in my element then.  Love my basketball.

Kathy - sorry about your friend, glad the funeral suited her.

Ginger - sorry to hear about you FIL, hope you can find a good fare for you DH to go see him.  Have you checked with Southwest Airlines, they generally have lower fares.

Chrissy - hope you have recovered from the long drive. I know you enjoyed the party and getting to see everyone.

I am going to have a head CT done whenever they can get it scheduled.  I have had this stupid headache for 2 months now!  I cannot get rid of it, if the CT does not show anything then they will be sending me to the neurologist again.  This headache is making me insane, literally!  I managed to burn my thumb and my index finger today pretty good on the tip of my crafting iron.  I unscrewed the tip and it fell on the carpet and I reached down to pick it up before it burned the rug and burned my fingers.  Oh well, what is one more klutz day for me?

Hope everyone has a good evening and get some rest tonight.  Love and Hugs. AJ

AJ, having a headache for so long sounds like a nightmare. I hope you get the scan scheduled soon and can get to the root of the problem.

Ginger, sorry for your FIL. I have a hard enough time falling asleep in my own bed, the sleep study sounds alwful. But the things we have to do to get better can sometimes be mighty strange.

Kathy, man, I hate when they (dentist, too) don't get the Novocaine or lidocaine dose right! I know that the reason I go so often is to catch stuff early, but wasn't expecting it this time. I go to a teaching hospital, so my dr had a resident do the biopsies. He kept saying how brave I was and I was like this is nothing after what I have been through in the  last year. Enjoy the basketball. Our high school team just lost the state tourament in the last 2 seconds, heartbreaking!

I too wish everyone sweet dreams and restful sleep.

AJ I am praying for you right now. That headache sounds like, well, a danged headache and two months is just a bad deal! Get that CAT scan and maybe they'll have something for you. If you want to get in faster go to the ER and tell them you fell on your head. You will have that scan pretty darn quick. Not totally kidding, but trying a little, hoping to get a smile from you.  This disease sucks!

My DH has tickets for Easter weekend with his frequent flier miles. We are trying to understand what we need to do for when his dad passes, thus the inquiries for compassionate fare last minute tickets.  His Dad is getting a pacemaler tomorrow and the Doc told the family that his condition makes the surgery more risky. He is a sick guy his blood pressure drops and he passes out and falls over so he needs the pacemaker. They found the Gallbladder cancer by accident.  I don't know how they know it is metastatic without having done surgery yet?     I think they said maybe three months?

My husband is an intense, cerebral person so with me sick this is really getting to him. He is snapping at me for speaking incorrectly. He is a wreck. I feel so bad for him.

I have an appt for April 11 for the sleep study and all my other BC check up stuff mammo, dexa, blood and Doc earlier that day.   I still cant get the Neurologist on the the phone to make an appointment. The phone is always going to recordings. grr. Your choice is call 911 or leave a message that isn't returned!

    Love you all

Ginger, why put your poor FIL through the pacemaker surgery if he only has 3 months? I had one put in last summer and it HURT like hell!!!! The recovery is fairly quick but it's painful. The scar was about 6 inches and that had to heal too! I'm on a lot of pain meds (narcotics) and they released me from the hospital because they said I had stronger meds at home than they were going to give me! With all my morphine on board I was still in pain. I can't imagine how he will do. They give Oxycontin for pain afterwards so that should tell you how much it hurts. My heart goes out to your family at this time.

AJ, I feel so sorry for you with a two month long headache.  Can just imagine how horrible it is to be in such constant pain.  I do hope you can get scheduled soon and really hope the CT scan shows nothing so you can go to a neurologist.

Ginger, I also wondered about the pacemaker when your FIL's prognosis is only 3 months.  From what Barbe said it doesn't sound like his life would be made any more comfortable.  Hugs and prayers to you.

Barbe, it's good to see you here again!  I see you on FB, but I've missed you here.

DD learned last week that they're expecting a girl.  After 2 DGS, I'm absolutely beside myself at this news.  Actually, I've already been buying some girl clothes just hoping.  Today was DD's birthday and the "gang" came over for dinner tonight.  Lots of fun.

I'm so concerned about Isabella, and wish we knew her DD's name.  I know Isabella has posted about seeing her DD's FB pages so if we knew her name we could check there.

Lots of love to you all and hope we all have a happy Sunday.

    Hi all

I am worried about Isabella as well. She is on fb but I can't find her daughter. I am hoping she has got into hospital with her back and just can't get to a computer.

We are celebrating St Patrick's day with wonderful rain, the first since early December, so good.

Kathy you must be delighted about the prospect of a grandaughter, they are fun but so are little boys.

Barbe good to see you here.

    Big hugs for all

Lisa, gorgeous flowers.  My poor flower bed got torn out when we had to have our sewer line redone.Frown  I must say the city tried to save most of my flowers.  My DH never liked it but I loved it.  I am giving him back his grass.  Whoa, I just realized I'm not allergic to my flowers.  I'm allergic to grass, weeds and tress.  Oh well, I already told him I would put sod down but I was going to have a small flower bed.

Just lost my entire post I was writing.  Windows decided to configure updates just as I was about to click submit.  GRRR!

Anyhow, I love the flower pictures, Lisa.  Not much blooming yet around here except daffodils and Bradford pears, and wouldn't you just know there's a freeze warning for tonight.  This is the way our weather is, 70's one weekend and 40's the next.  It;s supposed to be cold the whole weekend, and rain too.

It's spring, though.  I've sneezed about all day!  I do take a claritin daily year round, but my spring allergies go right on.

Yes, I am excited about a granddaughter after 2 grandsons!  I adore both of them, but it will be a nice change to buy girlie clothes and toys that aren't plastic miniature chain saws, leaf blowers and the like!

I too hope Isabella finally got into the hospital with her back.

I hope so too, Isabella has suffered long enough with her back.

A baby girl is so nice. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. Now I have 2 boy dgc and 2 girl dgc.

You can teach the girl to sew and play dolls with her and except for a certain stage around 2 1/2 they play quieter. Ask me who has a 2 1/2 yr old dgc right now who is practicing making trumpeting screeching elephant sounds. It is a stage and then it will be peaceful for about 8 more years until preteen hits. But AH those in between years are heaven.  Mine is able to stitch now on hte little 1945 sewing machine I got her. Cranks out a nice ittle chain stitch.

    Laters all
