Lisa, that's great news!!  I know what a relief good news for us is and I'm happy for you!

3jays, glad to see you posting.  And I'm glad to hear that even if you didn't pass the pulmo tests, it isn't mets!  Double good news from you and Lisa.  Hope you can get out to the pool soon too.  I too have messaged Isabella and I'm worried.  We don't even know her real last name since she said on an old post that York isn't the real one.

DH is going fishing this weekend at Fontana Lake, way up in the mountains of NC.  He always worries that he won't have any clothes when he gets back, because I do feel a trip to Goodwill is in order.  He has clothes that are older than dirt and I can be ruthless.  Wish I could be the same with my own clothes!  What is it about us women that makes us think we will one day fit into something we haven't worn for the past 10 years?

DD had another ultrasound today and it's definitely a girl and no evidence of cleft palate or lip, so everything looks good.  Our family vacation at the beach in June will be her last hurrah since the baby's due in August.

Kathy - my theory has been that if ever get back to those smaller sizes, I deserve new clothes. So it's out with anything that doesn't fit right now. Now my "problem" is that I actually did lose a bit of weight and can't quite believe it will last so haven't gone shopping recently.

My only excuse is that I'm an idiot!  I sent Isabella a pm the middle of April and got a reply.  She spent 6 weeks in the spinal unit of the hospital and apparently found no relief to talk about.  She signed herself out and is back home.  She has had difficulty signing on to BCO so not sure when we'll hear from her.  Thank you , chemo brain!

Thanks susgul!  At least we know Isabella's still around, and that's good to know!  Wish they could have given her some relief for her back, though.

Yay Lisa! That's great news! Doing the happy dance!!!!!!!

Susgul thanks for letting us know that Isabella is okay although her back is still giving her hell. I sometimes wonder what medicos think about when they know someone is in excruciating pain and actually do nothing to alleviate it?......GRRRR!!!!! Hope she can get back on line soon as I miss her daily stories.

3jays! Yay girl! Sorry you didn't pass that test but really hope you are starting to get out to the pool and the sunshine.

Well heading off to the city again on Sunday night as I have enrolled in an all day ribbon embroidery class that starts on Monday........I am so excited! I'm doing okay teaching myself but there are some techniques that need to be seen to master so I bit the bullet so to speak and made a few phone calls and found that my favourite stitching craft store does the classes......yay! Um.....I did forget that this weekend is the annual antiques fair here in Burra and my SIL always spends the weekend with us soooo, I think I'm going to be a very busy little bee from now until Wednesday next week.......lol......at least I won't have time to get bored!

    Love n hugs girls! Chrissy

Hi all! Phew I've had a really busy weekend and am now in the city at my DD's. heading off to my all day ribbon embroidery class tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.

Got to DDs just before dinner and we had a huge discussion on the finer details of the decor for the wedding........mmmmm, I now have a further forty odd crocheted hearts to do and then make them into dream catchers both as decorations and wedding favours.........guess my fingers are going to be super busy over the next few months.......please hope that the time does not go too fast!........lol.

Well need to get some rest as I'm truly exhausted tonight and I want to be well rested for tomorrow.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, I hope your class went well.  It sounds as if you have your work cut out for you from now until the wedding!

Where's everyone else been?  I've been bored all weekend with DH gone fishing and even the dog has rebelled. Something must have been prowling about in the yard last night because all Bud dog wanted to do was go outside and smell.  I never saw anything but took him out just in case.  It's been miserable weather, rainy and cold and not what May should be like.  DH will get back tomorrow and I'll be glad!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Kathy, the class was just super! I thoroughly enjoyed it and want to enroll for another in just a few weeks time. The ladies there were really friendly and everyone helped one another with tricks to complete what they were doing.......loads of laughter as well. Most of the projects were stunning!

I have another day in the city tomorrow as I have an appointment with the naturopath as well as I have to pick up the lace for DDs wedding as it has finally arrived .........nw that's a good thing as I was starting to worry that it wouldn't get here.

That no sugar, no dairy and no gluten diet my doc has put me on is showing goods signs....yay!.......I've lost five kilo (about 11pound) in just two weeks and I'm not finding it had to do either. I have plenty to eat and am not hungry at all.........in fact, I feel like I'm eating all day.......lol. Anyway, I sure hope it keeps going as then I will surely be slimmer for the wedding.

    Have a great day all!

Well, I don't know if it's because I'm an American by origin or because I'm now an Israeli, buut I need to ask - what in the world is a dreamcatcher?

    Click on the slide!

I found this one online. The Native Canadian story is that they catch the bad dreams at night and then I forget what they do with them but they make childen happy to go to sleep. I have several of them made by Natives who live nearby and one from a fly in community up north. They can be in any colour with lovely beading and whatever design inside the circle that the imagination allows.

Dreamcatchers are a tradition gift of grandparents to a new grandchild. So they will never have bad dreams.

I have a charm of a dream catcher, I love it..

Wren, I'd never heard that dreamcatchers were a traditional gift from grandparents to grandchildren, but that's sweet idea.  Might try to find one for my expected GD.

DH the fisherman got back this afternoon, sans fish but I'll take it!  It was lonely here without him, and last night the cable went out and took with it the TV, phone, and internet.  So, I curled up with a good book and enjoyed myself.

Chrissy, so glad you had a good time at your class.  Your fingers are really going to be busy from now until the wedding!

Hope some of you are having pretty spring days!  Here, all we're getting is rain and more rain.  I do believe the "drought" we've heard about for the past few years in NC is over.

Had bone scan yesterday, all seems fine so its just arthritis and fybro playing up.

Haven't posted much lately.  Friend is in last stages of BC unfortunately and it has really got to me. Sometimes I feel really bad that I have managed to come so far when others who had a better prognosis become stage 4. Friend's DH says its only time and she is slipping away.

Question for the Canadians, can you get gingernut biscuits(cookie) in Canada?

    Big hugs

Alyson - sorry to hear about your friend. It's always hard.

Yes - you can get ginger cookies here in Canada. I don't know about gingernut. I sometimes buy gluten free ginger cookies for my daughter.  Of course at Christmas you can get gingerbread people and gingerbread houses and - - - well, that is not what you asked!  If there is a specific sort you want, let me know, I will look and make a report.

Alyson, glad for the good news about your bone scan, but so sorry to hear about your friend.  I know it's hard, and sending you hugs.

I went with DD today to help her with her baby registry.  It was almost comical to see us trying to decide on a breast pump.  She's not putting that on the registry, but will need one since she's hoping to nurse.  This is her first baby and I didn't breast feed, so we were like Lucy and Ethel!

KAthy, congratulations on the approaching grandbaby! I didn't nurse my first but did the rest.  My DD and I both enjoyed and learned a great deal at LaLeche League meetings. They are world wide, highly respected, and very informative.  A lot of hospitals have lactation consultants now. LaLeche can start at any time in pregnancy and gives you a nice comfortable head start.  A nice blend of information sources.

I nursed all my kids, make sure she toughens up her nipples before the baby is born so they are ready. She can use a washcloth in the shower to pull on the nipples. Believe me I wish someone had told me for my first baby!

Thanks Ginger and Lisa.  I'll tell her about La Leche and also the washcloth trick!  It wouldn't be too early to start getting the nipples toughened up since the baby will be here in about 3 months.

Hello everyone, I have been on vacation. I flew to CO to meet up with DD, and then we flew to Cancun, Mexico. I had a blast. I felt better since I am also on my break from AI med. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. We went zip lining down into cenotes, and snorkeling in underground caves. What a confidence booster! I'll post some pics if ya'll want to see?

Chrissy, I am happy that you found a fun class to help you refine your technique.

Kathy, congrats on the grandbaby to come.

I missed you ladies, I have to get back into a routine. I've been sleeping alot since I got home. wore myself right out, I guess.

Yay Nancy! What at trip you had!! Oh yes please, some photos would be great.......take it easy and refresh. I think it's so funny that we have to have a break to get over having a break.....hahahaha ha!

The class was great and I'm so pleased I attended, in fact I enjoyed it so much I think I'll go to another one. DD has asked that I make some crocheted hearts for the dream catchers so my little fingers are busy getting them done.

    Have a great day all!

Well girls, my fingers have been busy, busy, busy........lol.  I have been making the hearts for DD's wedding dream catchers and thought I'd show you a few.

I've already done some more and on Tuesday when I go to the city to be with DD when she has spinal surgery again, I will have time to put one together so she can see what the overall effect will be.  I'll take a pic and post for all to see.  I will be in the city with DD for the whole week so I'm hoping while just sitting in the hospital room with her I can get a whole lot more done.

Wishing all the Moms a  very Happy Mother's Day and I hope you all get spoiled.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy
