Here is a panorama of four photos I put together

mountains are so cool looking! I am sure if I lived near some I would get use to them, but we don't have any around here. So thanks for the pics, Lisa.

I was BORN in Vancouver, BC and missed the "assurance" of the mountains horribly when we moved East. They were like getting a hug every day when you walked outside the house. You never got lost, either, as they were always a good reference point for East!!

Barbe, same here, mountains...east, ocean....west

DH's family lived in Anchorage, AK. MIL got lost one foggy day because she'd been using the mountains as reference points. DH doesn't want to live where he can't see mountains. I, who grew up on the plains, feel hemmed in by them.

We're back from Charleston. What a great time we had, too! We went on a bus tour of the city the first morning and then in the afternoon went on a boat tour of the harbor. The next day we went to Cypress Gardens and went on a boat ride through the swamp. We could have gotten a canoe and gone out alone but I'm glad we went with a guide instead, because we had a great one. He pointed out several areas that had been used in movies, and a stone bridge used in "The Patriot", which was totally realistic but was actually made of styrofoam. It was hauntingly beautiful, with the moss hanging from the trees and alligators out sunning themselves. Protective coloration is incredible; you could be staring right at an alligator and not see it! They have a butterfly house there and I loved it. DH had the camera and took pictures which I haven't uploaded yet, but I will. We also went on a tour of an unrestored plantation with beautiful gardens, with all the azaleas in bloom. Charleston is a little farther along in spring than we are here and everything was at its peak. It was just a wonderful anniversary trip, but it's always good to get back home too!
Nancy, love the pictures, and Lisa, that lavender rose is gorgeous!
Have a good week, everyone!
Kathy

whew, I am tired just reading about your trip, kathy, but so glad you had a good time. It sounds beautiful!
We are getting warmer, but not too many flowers blooming yet!
Today I had to go online while on the phone with my DD and pick out sinks and toilets and tub/shower combo so we can get the inside of the house framed. Well, the bathroom anyway. It will be the only room in the house, beside the bedroom which takes up the whole upstairs. The rest is an open floor plan. decisions, decisions.
so the other day I got a PM on here from someone i didn't know, that was asking me questions about my diet. I searched for the member's username but there were no posts associated with it. So I let the mods know, they thought it was someone trying to sell me supplements. We gotta be careful everywhere!

What an unusual April in terms of weather. Our temperature got down to low 40's last night. The forecast was for mid 30's. This may be our last "cool spell." And it will last only a couple of days. Heat and muggies are in our future with a/c compressors humming.
DH and I are off to the New Orleans airport in the early afternoon to pick up his nephew who is flying in from Seattle. He'll visit us a couple of days and then join friends who are also coming to New Orleans. We plan to pick him up and then stop at Drago's restaurant which created char-grilled oysters. They are sinfully delicious with melted butter splashed on top and also some grated cheese.
Hello to everyone.

Wow great pic of the moon Lisa! I was sleeping through out the eclipse.
I am on my way to see my RO, just annual visit. Also an excuse to shop, and get the car serviced.
It turns out that the reason I'm not feeling as good as I was is....... constipation. It's probably from the diet I'm on. Only a month to go. But I can't do much about it while traveling. I'll deal with it tomorrow.
Carole, the char broiled oysters sound great. Have fun!
We woke up to frost this morning. But it is sunny now. We'll have to see if the little girls can wear their frilly Easter dresses this weekend.

I remember having a spring coat to wear over the frilly dress. They were jacket length and in pastels. Very pretty and necessary in Okla where spring is very windy.

Chrissy, this is the Rose Garden we passed by when you were here...
I stopped on my way for an ultrasound...

Hi girls! I hurt my back and could hadly move without pain but I got the guy who is treating my neck to have a go at it...........I must say, I wondered why when he started but by the time he had finished I was just about kissing him for the relief!!!!!..........lol. He also did some strapping with Kinesio Tape for my Lymphodema as an experiment and may I just say, I'M IN LOVE WITH KINESIO TAPE! My arm and shoulder are almost normal and that's the first time for I don't know how long.........yipeeeee! The amazing thing about it though is that is only taken a few days........guess who is going to get it done next time I see him in a fortnight?.........lol.
Lisa thanks for the great pic of the moon, I wanted to see it but by the time I remembered it was all over.....lol. Oh I remember that rose garden! It is so beautiful!! Those mountains are amazing! I thought we had mountains in Australia until I saw The Rockies........now those are mountains!! We, I have decided should call ours pretend mountains.........lol.
Kathy your vacation sounds exhausting but fun but I'll bet you are very glad to be home.
Nancy it's always fun to pick out new fitting for a house........It's all coming together and I can imagine your excitement.
Carole those oysters sound fantastic! Have an extra one for me........lol.
Have a good day all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, what a find...glad you are feeling better...

mac, (and anyone else) I use Sennokat-S EVERY SINGLE night. Just one. The S part is a stool softener and it's non-addictive. Constipation can destroy your system so fast!!!! I was on such high doses of narcotics I used to take 4 times that amount a day!!!! Another tip; in Walmart or another pharmacy you should find a "Women's" laxative. It works!!!! I tried everything when I used to get constipated and it wasn't effective. The women's product has something unique (don't know what it is) that truly does work. Always take a stool softener with ANY laxative or you'll hurt yourself!!! Then once stable, take the Sennekot-S.

thanks, barbe. I am just miserable today! I feel like I have a cold and can't stop coughing again. Then the "other" problem is still on going. When I feel well enough I will check out that senokot. I am taking miralax and extra fiber and colace. I haven't felt like eating anything today. I am drinking some herbal tea, laying on the couch and am about to take another nap. The dog is pacing because it is time for us to go for her run. maybe later.....

I either dreamed it during my nap that I just woke up from, or heard earlier on TV or radio that either Miralax or the other "M" one has a "womens" version!! Almost fell off my chair as I had just typed the above. Again....I might have been dreaming....I have weird and disturbing dreams, but this is a first about a laxative!!

I was dreaming about a laxative, too. lol I am feeling a bit better. It worked somewhat. I felt good enough and safe enough to go for a walk with the dog. Even though it was cold and breezy, it was good to get out in the fresh air. I will go back to the pharmacy tomorrow and see what else I can find to help. I'm glad you understand. Now I have a slight fever.
chrissy, I love being able to go to my OT and have them help me get straightened out. I'm so glad you have someone in your life like that. What is Kinesio Tape? I guess I can look it up. ha ha
I use a tape on my fingers that sticks to itself, so I can wrap them for compression and then I also don't bend them unexpectedly. My DS says I look like an old boxer. My fingernails look horrible, too. oh well!

Hi all
Chrissy, I use the tape a lot - it is great and I find it really works. Mac, it is the tape athletes use - you see then with it on legs and shoulders. It helps reduce inflammation. For LE it actually pulls the fluid away towards working lymph nodes.
Big hugs

thanks alyson, I learn so much here.

Lisa, the moon pictures were fantastic! It was cloudy here that night and we couldn't see it at all, so I was so glad to see the pictures. And the rose garden is beautiful, too. We usually have the first roses blooming around Mother's Day here. When I was a child, it was a tradition at church to wear a red rose if one's mother was living and a white one if she was not. Don't know why or how that got started and I never liked it anyway. The white roses always made me sad.
Chrissy, glad you got relief for both your back and the LE and hope it lasts until you see the therapist again! I'm glad the tape is helping so much.
We kept DGD last night overnight. Otherwise known as the "baby who does not sleep". She went down at 9:00 and woke at midnight, then practiced her "talking" and being charming until 2:30 AM before finally sleeping until shortly after 7:00 AM. The grandparents have been tired all day!
Nancy, glad you felt a bit better today and hope all are well.

We are watching the gkids tomorrow..think it is time for a trip to the zoo...
0 -
Hi girls!
Aly, yes I know you use it that's another reason. Was looking for someone who knows what they are doing so I could try it. I must admit that I will need to use the water resistant one as the normal one hasn't lasted very long........my skin is too dry and just flakes off so the tape is filling with dry skin and falling off sooner than it should. I just can't believe how effective it is in getting the lymph to move.
Kathy, 'the babe that doesn't sleep'? Yes I had one of those but thank fully when they woke through the night they just chatted to themselves until they fell back to sleep. Hopefully that's what your DGD did so didn't disturb you too much.
Lisa, good luck with your grands and a trip to the zoo sounds like a grand idea!
I have lit the fire for the first time this season........it's probably a little warm today but tonight is supposed to get very chilly and tomorrow when all the kids are here another chilly day. I lit it today to maintain the warmth in the rooms so they donept complain how cold it is.........lol.
Happy Easter to all who celebrate it!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Kathy, We had the red rose/white rose tradition for Mothers Day too. I wore a white one for my mother (passed when I was 4). One year I asked my grandmother who raised me if I could wear both. She cried. After that I always wore both.
It's chilly and rainy here. Our art teacher wants us to paint outside from nature, but way too miserable today. Tonight during dinner, I saw a strange green in our neighbor's tree. We went outside and it was a gorgeous rainbow. It looked like it started a block or two away and went directly over our block. It was the closest I've ever been to one. It was a double, but the second one was very faint.

wow Wren. That's very neat

One morning last week my DH woke me ( unusual for him) to tell me that there was a double rainbow at sunup. I did get out of bed to go and see but by the time I got the camera sorted they had both faded to the point there was not much left. He found it strange that there were two and the sky was clear........I told him that the moisture in the air was enough for the sun to hit the particles at the right angle to create the prism effect. I love rainbows!
