Hi girls! I'm finally home! Long day in the city after a long day travelling but all is good and I'm safely planted in my arm chair with my very swollen feet up in the air.......lol.
Happy 100th Birthday to your Aunt Nancy! Wow! What a great age to reach. I love those rainbow roses, they are sooooo pretty........I hope your Aunty liked them.
Oh dang! I can't remember what every one wrote on the previous page and we all know what happens when we try to go back and this little duck is a wee bit too tired to rewrite.......lol.
Catch you all tomorrow when I'm a little more awake.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Awe thanks girls, you make me feel so loved. I have had a lovely two day celebration and it is set to continue until Saturday.......lol. DD #2 has organized a special breakfast for me as I wasn't able to see the girls yesterday. I'm quite happy to keep the celebration going......lol.
I have finally down loaded the pics from New Zealand and thought I'd share a couple.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Beautiful photos, Chrissy! What a beautiful country it must be. And yes, by all means prolong the birthday celebrating!!
Such a dreary day here, and DH is suffering from a stomach virus. Knock on wood, here, that it's not in store for me too. I'm trying to be both comforting and cautious!
Tree is up and decorated and I did some shopping both yesterday and today but still have a bit more to do. Never was one of those who got it all done early and at this point I obviously never will be!
Hope all are well and having a good weekend!

Hello all. Long day at doctor. After taxol infusion, I saw the onc, and after 8 treatments, my markers are up, not down. So, I will be switched to Gemzar/Carboplaten starting next week. Guess I will start my research after this post. I am disappointed, but am optimistic about the new treatment. At least my hair should grow back. I sure hope they don't run out of drugs before I get back in remission!
Also, am doing more diagnostic on my colon. There is a reason for my problems, and it is most likely bc there, also. If it's colon cancer, I can be treated for both at the same time.
I'm really searching for something good to say about today before I report in to my grown kids. What a roller coaster ride!

So pleased to have my piano home.

Wilsie, bugga! as we say here when things aren't what we expect. This disease is just so darn sneaky and hard to get a grip on.......I sure hope the new treatment gets you right back into remission!
Aly it sure looks good in it's own home......lol.
I have been asked to join a Provus club here in my home town and attended their Christmas Luncheon today. It was a lot of fun and it meant that I got to meet a lot more of the local women as well..........I think I am going to enjoy the socializing immensely! They meet once a month and organize speakers and outings as well so we shall see how it goes.
Thanks girls for your comments on my pics.....it sure is beautiful over there and I didn't even get out of Auckland!.....lol. That just means that I have to go back again......darn!.....don't you just hate that?!
Kathy I sure hope your DH is over his stomach upset....nothing worse! I, happily, don;t have to go shopping as adults in our family don't exchange gifts just cards and now my grandchildren are growing up, they prefer money.........easy for me and better for them as they get exactly what they want.......love it!!!
Not sure if I will bother with a tree this year as we are going down to DD #2 for a few days over Christmas and it just doesn't seem worth the effort.........but there again, I do have this snazzy popup one that just might suffice.......maybe I will after all.....lol.
Have a great day all! Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, you sound like you feel great! The trip must have done you a world of good. I haven't even managed to get my Christmas wreath down from the attic. It's strung with lights and dh usually puts it on a timer. I bought one of those lighted artificial trees two years ago when I was having the family dinner here. But I probably won't bother with it this year. I do have a pretty red poinsettia that I won as a door prize. Christmas always comes so soon after Thanksgiving that I'm just not ready for it!
We'll have a family dinner on Christmas day at the home of one of my two sisters. I'll cook a number of dishes to take for the potluck dinner. There will be some presents for the children and for my mother. Everyone buys her a Christmas gift and a birthday gift since her birthday is the 27th. DH is making pens for each adult in my family. They're really pretty. He has gotten interested in "turning" on a lathe and is making the pens out of some different kinds of wood, like walnut, oak, cherry.
I admire people who continue to have Christmas spirit even as they get older. I have that "been there, done that" attitude!

Hello my friends. I haven't been on for a few months. I hate to write this out and make it true..........I have some sort of lump near where my first lump was. Same breast, same quadrant, upper outer, just higher. I also itched, just like I did with the first lump 4 1/2 years ago. It is the middle of the night here. I will call the Doc first thing to see if I can get in for a mamo today. Shit!shit!Shit!
My back still gives me great problems, the bone is healed, the muscles spasm so bad after just a couple minutes of walking. I have a little tens unit and need to use that more. I have honestly been just at home. Just a recluse, even from you all.
I am pretty scared, trying to tell myself it is a reccurance and nothing more.
I am going to go read about reccurance.
Love Ginger Barb

Gingerbrew, Good to see you again. You've been missed. I hope your lump turns out to be nothing, but understand the fright while waiting to find out. Hugs. Please let us know how it turns out. I wouldn't read too much until you know what it is. No need to increase the worry.

Gingerbrew, ditto to Wren's remarks. I hope your worries are unfounded. Hugs.

Oh dear what happened to my post, obviously its off somewhere in cyberspace.
Big hugs Ginger, get you to a doctor asap. Sending loads of love and prayers.
Hope everyone has got all there preparations for the holidays done.

Ginger, good to "see" you, but darn about the lump. Hope you can get it checked out soon and it is easy to handle.
Wilsie, oh poop about the markers!!! Let the new chemo work wonders!!! It is the season for miracles, after all.
I don't have lots of holiday spirit, either. I have a friend staying with me until her new house is ready. She can move in next week. She has the decorating gene. She has put up outside lights and then inside lights. Then she got me to get my decorations out of storage and I have managed to get a few placed. I have to admit it certainly is cheerier. Now she has designated Friday as tree buying day.
Tomorrow I get to go to the city and see my BS and get my mammo. oh fun! My DD is going too, and we will make a shopping trip out of it. My appt is late in the day so we will stay off island for the night.
I am still so tired all the time. I think I am going to try that new med. LDN (low dose naltrexone) It has to be compounded by a specialty pharmacy. It is suppose to boost my immune system and increase endorphin production. The doc who is prescribing it says she likes her patients who have had cancer to be on it. I'll keep you informed.
The holiday parties have begun! I just keep a smile on my face and nod a lot. It is so hard to hear with all that crowd noise. lol

I agree with Nancy, Wilsie. Hope this new chemo will be a Christmas miracle for you!
Barb, I so hated to see your news and hope you can get seen tomorrow. Will be praying and sending many hugs to you. Here's hoping for a cyst and that's all.
Alyson, I suppose I'm about 3/4 finished with Christmas prep, shopping, etc. House is decorated, tree is up and so far no broken ornaments from the grandchildren. DH on the other hand broke 3 while we were decorating it.
Went to the Carter's outlet today and bought clothes for gkids. The clothes, a toy (a Cabbage Patch doll for Anna) and books is all we're getting for them.
Good luck with the mammo, Nancy, and enjoy your day with your daughter. Do let us know about the new drug when you go on it. Sounds interesting.
Chrissy, have you wound down yet from your trip? Trips, especially one like you had, are so exciting it's sort of a let-down returning to our real worlds!

Gingerbrew, I hope you can get in to your dr soon. Waiting for news really sucks! Sending prayers and hugs!
Wilsie, I sure hope your new chemo does the trick! You wil be in my prayers too!
Mac, Good luck with your mammo. I asked for mine to be scheduled after the holidays. Told my BS I needed to be able to try and forget all this crap for a few weeks. I hope the new meds help you!
Wishing you all well. Love and hugs to all, lilyrose

Ginger I'm in!!! Keeping everything crossed that everything is okay. So glad you have managed to get things moving so quickly!
Kathy I'm still a bit wound up.....lol......I had such a lovely time with Aly and Auckland is really, really beautiful. I would find it very easy to live there for sure!
Nancy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you as well that your Mammo is clear once again.
It must be that time of year as I too am off to the city in the morning for my annual Mammo as well as my bi-annual DEXA but the fun thing after is the Christmas Dinner for my Chat group tomorrow night so that should be loads of fun.
Take it easy all and hopefully we all will have good news.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
