trying to catch up yet again. This thread moves so fast! Sinus headache, 3 hours sleep, brain not functioning (worse than usual). Cool and overcast here, only about 60*, want to crawl back in bed for a couple hours sleep! but too much to do.

Saw this and thought of y'all (you know who I'm taking to):

Okay the secret is "Looking for the music in the blues". I was thinking that when I chose the avatar, but just made the phrase up. I kind of like it. Works.

I was going to change to a bluebird for FBB, and my file disappeared. So, I might be the Blues for a awhile

Hole-in-One  beautiful. Gorgeous family. OMG it seems like yesterday. Our kids are effectively the same age. OH I need a naap

I've finally made it here today----goofy day--Well my GF stopped by for coffee so we had some good stuff to talk about. It got how 86 and the kids turned on the a/c, I'm cold but I can always cover up which I am.

Oh LE mor fun that a pile of monkees all over u. I have a sleeve, hand and compressed stockings, which I rarely wear mor trouble getting them on and off and I learned how--I's no fun but I just tell people I'm not fat just swollen, it kind of works too. Not well but maybe someone believes me. But not working makes a big difference cuz I don't move it to much when it hurts some, I do do the excercises for it, but who knows.

Oh 444 I smell like chit today no shower, didn't feel like it. But tomorrow I'll have a fresh smell for all of u. I'm going to use my body butter instead of lotion. I'll surprise u with the name tomorrow--such excitement I give to all.

Sas how are u doing. We have a lot of glowing going on here. WTF.

I've been so so tired maybe it's the infection I have IDK--I just can't stay awake very long. I have to go to Wlgreens when Leslie comes back from the store. I've been using Neosporin for another infection on my skin but it not working--it's around my sides of my Vagina--funny word--it bleeds sometimes when it gets itchy and I thought now I'd use some baby powder, I think it's some type of yeast infection, but it's not inside it's only on my skin, I forget to show the Dr. which I did take antibiotics for it before-o I'll  try my own concoction, I see another Dr, in a couple of weeks so if I still have it I'll show it to her. If I know what I is, I would think any Dr. would know specially a GIST Dr. Whatever.

He Chevy I understood almost everything I read today, either I'm getting smarter or--no I don't want to insult anyone. Bwhahahahahaha

OK I'm going out then going bak to sleep and sometime during this adventure I think I'm going to throw up. I'm so visual for what I do.

Hey what's everybody doing for Mommy's day?

congrats, Teka!!  Where I go now, they give me the results before I leave the bldg.  MUCH less stressful!

Do any of you ever go back and reread your original diagnosis? I did today. Didn't realize how much of it I totally didn't understand at the time.  Still it's awfully depressing to reread, so I don't highly recommend doing so.  Turns out I had both ductal and lobular, and though I didn't have over expression of HER2, about 10% of the cells were positive for it.

SAS, I LOVED your response to your friend.  BTW, my Mom, aunt and grandmother never drank AT ALL.  All three had breast cancer, and 2 of them died of it.

Nettie - about that recipe for peanut butter rice crispy treats.......

    Ok.the recipe

    1 cup sugar

    1 cup light corn syrup

Put both in boiler, bring just to rolling boil (mixture will start to turn clear)

    Remove from heat. Add

    1 cup peanut butter

    Mix well. Add

    6 cups rice krispies

    Stir. Spread in buttered pan

Now this recipe can be broken down to make smaller amounts.

The portion I make is single serve just for me. I use:

1 tbsp sugar, 1tbsp syrup, 1 tbsp peanut butter and 3/8 cup of cereal.

Then I eat then while they are warm. Yum yum

Teka....YAY!!!!!!!!!  Congratulations!  Another milestone!  I dread them every year....

Sassy.... You sound just like my Brother.... He always says, "Let the music move you..." Just feel it...  but when I'm "blue", the last thing I want to hear is blue music...Ha!

I want to hear something like Kool and the Gang sing Celebration!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw1P7gdtAeY

    But I like your Avatar....!!

Oh NO!  Cammi had a "goofy day"..... SHE said it you guys.... I didn't!

Okay, seriously, I have Sigvaris knee-hi stockings, for my left ankle, which swells up like a balloon, when it has a mind to....  I order them online.... and I also bought that stocking contraption that helps you put them on!  Once you learn it, it's a snap!   REALLY helps my legs!   It also keeps you from getting clots....  so maybe this will help?

And I always use body butter, or heavy creams, mixed with that 40% zinc oxide from Super Target!  Sometimes I add Mentholatum, because it is "cooling" .... But Vaseline and  Bag Balm really helps also!

Cammi, my Daughter and I are really allergic to Neosporin.... just sayin!

Can you use that  Monistat stuff?  Inside and out?  That should work better....  If you take antibiotics, that WILL cause a yeast infection.... I know that one for sure....  So eat lots of yogurt also!

You have to throw up?  Good Lord, you are a HAND-full!  I don't know what else to do to help you!  But I love you even WITH all your faults!

Yes JWOW!  What a cutie you are!  I'm so happy you like your scarf!  You have to wear it everyday.... even to Walmart.... Ha!  And yes!  I love your hair!  I've heard from other women, that their hair DOES grow back curly!    Mine is as straight as a stick....  I didn't have chemo though, either.

Miss Smarty-pants!  You KNOW that chicken was for me...image  That's so funny, because I watch "our" squirrels every morning!  Them and the birds that we feed!  They have "feeders" hanging on our fence.... I'll take pictures.... and they are so funny, scrambling to eat, and chase each other away!    They stare into our kitchen window, with that hungry look on their face, and so I have to get dressed and take their tray of food out, every morning!

Okay gals.... talk to you in the morning! xoxoxoxo

You gals, stay out of the Tornado's!  They pop up ANYwhere!

So Teka.... have you heard yet?  I just HATE that waiting!.... Yes, me too GG!  I know before I leave the place...  I think that is with the "diagnostic mammogram.."

Oh sorry Teka.... We were posting at the same time.... That is really interesting about the vascular system and lumph nodes... I'll go back and try and read it better, and understand it....

Well the Rice Krispie treats never got made. Guess I'll go to town and get chips/dip and the mail at the same time. Nettie I'll give your peanut butter ones a try.

Lots of trees down and power out in Dallas proper and some damage SW of me. Lots of flooding in Dallas. We got only a little more rain this afternoon and may get a bit more.

Teka - yeah for the mammo results. I cheat and only go on days the radiologist is there. I do pay for that with an "office consult" fee.

JWow - You watch out too. This is some storm. I always think you're a west coast girl. Forget you're Austin area.

I haven't read my path report in well over a year. Buried in a notebook.

JWoo, cute pic!  See I knew Chevy could crochet or knit or sumptin other than exercise on her pole!  The scarf sparkles along with your eyes!  My last chemo was in August too.  I had curls to stay with, now they are crazy out of control!

Chevy, my favorite color is........just kidding!

    Yay Teka!

Cami, I am waiting for the surprise.  The nose wants to knows.

Hi Nettie, GG, Spookie, Smaarty, Sas and Luv!

Phylliewhoescapedagain!  Don't get excited over a trip to Hastings!  Although I haven't been in a long time. It might just be a happening' place now!

Ok, I'm off to deliver the muffins for the kindergartner's to have with the moms in the morning!

  • I am 3 years into my cancer journey and I had my nipples reconstructed yesterday, after Diep flap. I have an excellent plastic surgeon who wanted to sculpt and fix everything, lipo etc. I told him all I cared about was the fastest recovery time and to be done with all of this. I am tired of cancer.

Gumby, odd that you would ask about original path reports. I just re-read mine a few weeks ago. I saw the "PLOIDY'--unfavorable 1.79. Mystery. Goes from ? to 2.0. Indicated rapid cell division. Above_____(already forget, but stated in the research of the definition), associated with bad outcome. Figured my pushing everyone was really good cuz I'm still here.

Teka--sometime in the 90's a chemical was found that encouraged the body to make new blood vessels. angio-blood vessels, genesis --new. At the time it was seen to be a great breakthrough for heart disease and peripheral vascular disease(usually lower legs). But was very quickly found to accelerate tumor growth. It did help the oncology world understand how blood vessel growth supported tumor growth.

From that blood vessel ablation----destruction of blood vessels was researched as a treatment for certain types of tumors.

In the early 2000's, a friends kid went through a brain tumor. The very first thing they did was send the kid for this ablation procedure in a different state, to a guy that was one of few in the country. The child then went on for treatment. He is still with us.

No idea of why it's not used for more --stopped following.

So, tired hard to stay awake---not sure what's up.

But did find a new thing to induce sleep. Was scrolling pages to find something for someone-----not PCP----thermoregulation. The scrolling caused a sleep attack analogous to watching a time piece swing back an forth-----LOL.

I wrote a post to them. The sleep attack was so strong when I woke up and came back to the computer, I hadn't hit submit.

Yes, I made up the word -----Sleep attack.---Definition: Overwhelming need to sleep. Must lay down right now or I will sleep right here.

Chevy, Really what I'm saying was a bit of a revelation.  A word we use to describe being down is the blues. I'm searching in my file for a bluebird. Come across the avatar I have now. Hmm, can this accomplish two purposes. I'm blue, but in the blue can I find something else. The pic of blue--holding the notes of music. The color is associated with being down, the music can be associated with what ever we make it. If that be true, then I can have more control about being down. Hit a chord with me LOL . double entendre.

Lost my file that I used for avatars. I might be the blues for awhile. Going to be a problem when I chase a windmill.

Sas!  As fast as your brain goes from place to place and the amount of things you ponder and research, it is no wonder you are exhausted!!!

$$$$444444$$$$, I keep hoping that if I put the dollar signs around you with the shift key that money will fall all over you.  Isn't that fun.  Teka's Post about  "I want to sleep , but my brain won't stop talking to itself". I went to a hypno-therapist in 1980. Told him the goal was to get me to stop working in my sleep. Worked partially, I was better, but not all the way. LOL. Have no idea why it works the way it does. But can't wish it to totally leave me alone. I am slowing down.
