Tang no one is just saying that, it take just a few minutes and u leave and don't feel a thing, It's more trouble getting dressed and undressed and dress again than the whole thing. Just have to hold still for a bit, that was my hard part, cuz they had music on I like and I was moving my feet to it. U'r not enclosed at all and the first couple of weeks u'r fine,  then u just get tired that's it. Good excuse to take naps. Unless u'r getting different kinds of rads. So that's it. U have to make sure u tell us after OK?

they  told me that mine was going to take a little longer, thats why mine is scheduled for last patient of the day. Not sure what that means....I always think of all my questions after the fact.

I never actually timed the sessions. Seems like maybe 15 min? Waaaaaay faster than any thing else in this ride. And about once a week there would be new tats, or pictures or something to take a bit longer. I have arthritis in R shoulder, it refused to move after session, techs always had to help me up.

Tanadang, maybe because you have been through SO much fu€*ng crap that they need to take extra time & pamper you.

Said it before, but rads were easy peasy for me. I did have a nervous breakdown ( almost ) but that was from the 6 months prior, It truly felt like PTSD, I had just barely got back on track from 2 years previous...I spent 4-5 months in bed in 2011, needed one third of my colon removed. My health seems like a train wreak, my immune system shot. Of course we internalize everything, what did I do wrong...why am I such a freaky worry wort....no glasses on, be back after pizza...

I know what you mean HOle-right  before dx I had finally gotten a job after being unemployeed for 5 years, house forclosure, late in life pregnancy..let's see oh and finding out dh had come close to cheating. anyway, there's alot more that has happened but things were turning around. Then BC came and here we are. I truly wonder how much stress had to do with dx. probably never really know, but I think there is some sort of connection.

Smaarty- sorry- i must have either missed or my swiss cheese brain forgot that this is your SILs place. I thought it was yours. I did not mean to be insensitive to the situation. I am sorry he is having such a difficult time.

Tang, you can do it, rad is for some easy for others not so easy but one thing it goes fast, fist week you will think it's slow but after that it will be over before you know it. Yes stress has defenetly some connection with our bc. I truly believe it.

tang..hope it all goes well tomorrow..sending hugs and prayers

FB...hugs and prayers your way too :)

Had a great time with my daughter in Michigan, and she came back with me. Went home today on the train after we did the tomato throw at soldier field...I will post a picture when I get them loaded. We were a mess. I really didn't think I would get all messy. Was prepared and had a change of clothes...but how hard is it to duck from a tomato...right?   Well, it was tomato mush.....they were all in a couple of large circles, and looked like they were trying to make wine...they were all crushed. So you had to scoop them up and toss the pile of mush...very funny.. I love doing silly things...this had to have topped the silly list. We were covered in the mess. They hosed us down after...lol. Freezing cold water...I am happy my hubby and daughter don't think I am nuts with these crazy ideas.

Chevy, we raised convicts In a small 10 gallon tank. Had to take the male out cause he would eat the babies if we didn't. So the mom was alone in The tank with her babies. I remember watching her move them all the time. Picked them up individually and spit them out into different locations in the tank. To bad they can't reason....there is no one in the tank to hurt you...relax...but they just go on instinct

Hi to all, and hope everyone is doing well.

    Sweet dreams

Tang it might be long cuz of the back part and the first one is usually their aiming place so they take a little more time but all in all--don't even compare it with chemo, nothing like it at all.

Susan it's so nice that u'r DD cam home with u--how long is she staying?

Enerva that pic is funny but so true--My sister or cousin and I talk forever on the phone and we keep saying  Oh I forgot what I was going to tell you, then whe we remember we just have to say it right away, then the other one forgets what they were say. We talk sometimes for 2 hrs and it probably could have been a 1/2 hr talk.

I have to go to the drugstore tomorrow and pick up a few of my personal things--hahaha nothings to personal anymore tho.

hi all! Been trying to keep up but impossible for the next couple of days. Can't wait to catch up.

Past couple of days have been tough. Out to parents most of the week, interview Thursday (didn't do well, wasn't in the frame of mind to sell myself), back Friday, took Dad to sign papers to move Mom. Yesterday, running around for last minute items, up till 3 am mending and labeling everything. One hour sleep, Dad got me up to drive Mom to ER - she was doubled over in pain from UTI. Very stubborn and belligerent at hospital, wouldn't take meds, screaming, cursing, at one point took a big male nurse and attendant to restrain her. Stressful 5 hours, got a bit of a nap. Washed 5 loads of laundry, packing up things and into the car when she's not around. Never thought I'd see my mom so mean. Dad knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's doing the right thing but it still hurts.

Tomorrow after we take her there, plans are for me to go with him to dining hall. First time he'll be eating alone. Tough day in store

Thanks to all of you for your love and support! Especially Miss Sassypants phone call (missed out on the People of Walmart though).

Tang and FBB, sending prayers your way.

    Wishing everyone a great week!

2nd, my heart goes out to you during this emotionally and physically draining time with your mom and dad. Probably best that you couldn't sell yourself for job interview. You are exactly doing what you need to be doing right now. Hopefully soon, your days will settle into a routine. Your mom sure has some fight in her to push back a big male nurse and attendant....feisty lady :) hope you get some sleep tonight.

Speaking of sleep, I'm trying out a sleep app on my iPhone that tracks sleep patterns. It's a free sleep tracker app and it apparently uses motion to determine how well a person sleeps. I'm sure Chevy and Cami will have a field day laughing about motion detection. Anyhow, the phone stays plugged in and face down on the mattress. I will see the sleep graph in the morning and let you all know.

    Sleep well owlettes.....

So what you are SAYing is...........  You take your phone to BED with you, and strap it probably on your leg, and  it then records every time you wiggle?  It sends little beeps into the Mother-board, to record your movements...   And THEN what?

Cammi, we could have a hay-day with THIS one............  So apparently you have to sleep alone, for a proper reading?   No men, dogs, cats, nothing else!!!

Actually I've seen that advertised on TV!  DANG, the things they come up with!   So just tell us what it says, and we will try and sit here with a straight face, and pretend...... with a straight face STILL, that we know what you are talking about.

We can do that...........So if the graph is all over the place, that would mean you are jumping all over the place, and not sleeping properly.     We will be waiting.

Okay JWow....  Can you tell me WHY if I  CLOSE iTunes, I have to always SIGN in again, AND it tells me to "authorize" my computer all over again?  Now I just minimize the progam when I am through, and never close it!   Is this okay?  And do you shut your computer down every night, like I used to, or just close your programs, and just get up and walk away from your computer?

Do I have to "close" my browser like AOL every time I am finished?  I guess I'm asking if you are supposed to shut everything off after each session....

This new Dell is so Quiet!  And I finally found out where the CD's go, and how to get that little door OPEN!

Also, can I re-connect my old computer and copy some of the programs in my "Documents" to a CD, and HOW?  I know how to put everything onto a flash drive, but that did not work...  Some transferred and some didn't.  ... but I just wonder how to put certain programs I have saved onto a disk that I can transfer to this computer.  I know how to "burn" music to disk, but not programs....  When I insert the disk, will there be a prompt, as to "what do you want to burn onto this disk, and give me choices?"

So I guess that's my current qwest....

Susan!  You raised "convicts???"  MAN I'm glad I read the rest of your post!  Cammi, did you keep reading after she said THAT?  I mean wait until Phyllifromthebighouse sees THAT one!  Ha, ha!  WOULD be sort of different....  maybe even FUN????

Okay, I raised Betta's, are those about the same?  The Male is the one who kept all the little babies in tow, but they all finally disappeard!  I was feeding him freshly hatched brine shrimp, but they were about as big as the babies, and I think he was confused?  I'll look up Convicts, after I post this...  The most amazing thing was watching the male Sea-horse give birth to the babies!   My Daughter's still remember that....   !   But I really enjoyed my Tanks when I was younger...  I have downloaded "Marine Aquarium" for my computer, and it's really beautiful.... and much easier to take care of...Winking

Tang.....  don't worry....  just relax..... after a few times, you will feel more confident about it.  I'll bet you are the last one of the day, because then you will all have a party?  You will drink yourselves silly, and just carry-on with no abandon....  I read that somewhere.

Well girls, it looks like I am going to grow old utterly disgracefully after having a police car take DH and I into custody this evening at the front of our local hospital.

He and I were there this  morning for a meeting with the social worker and our daughter to tell her that she won't be coming home to our house when she finishes

her rehab after the stroke she took five weeks ago.  I have been having panic/anxiety attacks about this lately and felt like a major meltdown was coming up fast so, after spending all morning

looking for my vallium tabs to calm me down before the event, I went there without.  Our daughter didn't know what the meeting was for and when she was finally told, asked if she was going into a local nursing home. We assured her she wasn't and she was ok with going into an assisted/group living residence.  After all that worry on my part, she didn't shed a tear...not that I expect that to last...it will probably hit her all of a sudden and then we might have some fireworks.

So....tonight we went up there to see her through her evening meal as we do every day...hubby dropping me off at the door before driving around to find a parking space, by which time I am with Kellie in the rehab unit.

When we left, hubby went ahead to get the car while I took my time with the aid of my walking stick.  I stood on the front steps waiting in what seemed to be a wind tunnel with a light cardigan to keep me warm.  He took so long I went back inside to the foyer and sat in a chair to wait.

The next thing I see is him walking toward the front door with no sign of the car anywhere to be seen.  I got up to meet him at the entrance, only to hear him say, "The car's been stolen!"

Oh My God! What? Talk about being slapped in the face with a dead fish!

I got my cell phone out and told him to ring the police which took about ten minutes and was told they'd send a police car shortly.

Well, it took about thirty minutes, during which it started to rain and I nearly froze to death so we went back into the foyer to get warm.  I was also fuming that DH had left the car unlocked or something equally likely to stop our insurance company from paying out....while all the other consequences of having no car tomorrow slammed into my brain.

The 'car' arrived with two young constables so we went back outside to give them the relevant details until the cold forced all four of us inside the entrance again.  When they had written all the facts down they asked us for both our car keys as apparently they can tell (when/if they recover the car) which key opened/closed the car the last time.  This also tells them if the car was left unlocked or not.

They told us a bulletin had been put out on the police radios along with a photo of a similar looking car on their 'net page, so they were already looking for it as we spoke.

All that done, they offered to drive us home, which we accepted because we needed someone to jump our five foot high fence to get us into our yard.  We only use the remote controlled garage door opener to get in...a problem DH doesn't want to deal with even if we have a power outage.  Those things only dare happen to me...never him...it's so embarrassing asking the neighbours to jump the fence when we have a gate in it that needs a lock with a key for such times.

Anyway...the nice young men cleaned all their junk out of the back seat of the twin-cab, four-wheel-drive vehicle, putting it into the paddy wagon on the back.  Hubby and I climbed into the back seat with as  much dignity as we could muster in front of a crowd of smokers who were sitting in a pergola-type shed close to the road.

One of the young cops suggested going back to where hubby said he parked the car for a quick 'look-see,' as he backed out of the parking bay specifically designated for Corrective Services Use Only.  Hoping no-one I knew saw us with the police in the well lit foyer of the hospital and then being driven off in their vehicle, I was a tad glad to be leaving.

We turned right at the hospital gates to go about two hundred yards to where Hubby said he had parked the car...when a car very similar to ours caught my attention.  As we got closer, I read the number plate and was gobsmacked to see it was the same as ours.  The constable in the passenger seat also recognised it as ours, so the driver pulled up ahead of our car to do a U-turn and have a closer look.  My husband meanwhile was denying it was ours because he had parked further up the street.

The driver pulled up directly across the road from it and, grabbing a torch, crossed the road to give it a closer inspection.

Yep...it was our car alright...parked exactly where hubby had left it...even though he was convinced some-one had moved it.  We made a very embarrassed apology to the policemen and then a hasty escape with DH arguing all the way home the car had been moved.

Until he remembered, when we were at the hospital earlier in the day, he HAD parked it further down the street...but not this time.

    Sheila.

Aussie Oh, our memories sometimes fail us. Glad you found the car without further event :)  About 15 years ago I left the DS's highschool gym. I was going to drive DH's car home. He had gotten a new company car recently. I realized in the parking lot I had no idea of make, model ,or color. There I am in the parking lot with the remote opener/locking device. Pointing it in all directions. Walking row to row. Finally a car's lights turned on. I was glad no one around. .......BTW glad to see you here :)

2nd, my heart goes out to you xoxoxo,    It surely is a tough time in life. As exhausting as it is, mentally and physically, when they are gone, you have such a sense of peace and calm cause you were there, and cared so much.  Hope you get some peaceful sleep. Take care of yourself too :)

Cami, I laugh with some of the things I post, cause I know you will have a fun with it:).   A long time ago my daughter and I went out to get a goldfish, like all little kids have , and came home with a salt water aquarium !!  Sometimes I shouldn't be let out of the house....lol

Sas, are you all better with your stones??

Tang, hope your day goes well, thinking of you

Aussie, lost my car in a parking garage when I was 8 months pregnant..started crying and called hubby. He had to drive an hour to me to look for my car. It was on The top level, OPEN to the sky. Now how did I miss that. Never went to the to the top cause I KNEW it wasn't there. Good thing my hubby didn't believe me. Guess he knows how I don't pat attention to things...lol

Smarrty, a BBF is buying a computer later today I told her about your Slimline and she looked at the specs. She's pretty sure it will meet her needs. She's traveling to Melbourne to Best Buy to look at it and others. The price is a real draw. QUESTION: She does Taxes on computer and stores her customer data on computer. The specifications looks like the slimline will support everything she has to do. What is your opinion?...............FYI for consideration on Foobs. I did saline implants. I have some ripples. PS explained that if I had the silicone implants, that wouldn't of occurred because the silicone is factory filled and sealed. Whereas, the saline are filled on the table so are difficult to fill to maximum to avoid ripples. Not sure if he was blowing smoke. My whole experience with him was questionable.  I didn't know about Whippetmom(Deborah) and her Sizing 101 thread, so, wish I had.................Bradley is adorable :)

sass, the new PC better be able to handle tax programs, I don't see why not it's plenty big enough. I'm more worried if my programs for quilting and embroidery will work, mostly because of Win8.1.  I haven't had a chance to take it out of the box and haven't looked up to see if there's patches or upgrades that I may need.

I have silicone foobs and with the weight lost there's now a lot of ripples. I will be glad on one hand when the next surgery is done since these ache a lot now. But not looking forward to it either because I think this time it's going to be more painful and a harder recover due to more pocket work and the sling. This will be the last time I try this. If the new ones don't work out, then I'll go flat. I can live without boobs.

Thinking of you guys with upcoming issues to deal with. Tang, be sure to let us know how it went.

Maddy, Hugs, sorry about the interview, but i second what Paws said about the interview, what would your parents do without you at this time. A new job right now could drive you over a cliff. Yes, i love talking on the phone with you too:) It's so nice to put a voice to a name :) The bestest is to be able to meet in person. Can always hope.

Had lovely talks with Littlegoats and Dutchy Sunday afternoon, then went to Carrabba's. Great talk, then great food :)

Sugar Cookie, I love your descriptions of how you smell. My sniffer doesn't work well except for noxious smells--no fun on that one. But I do remember being able to smell all the things you describe. Your descriptions always make me smile :)

Dh and I made up a word for when we couldn't remember what we were talking about  "Splat". It made us laugh.

Have to sell new car b/c the seat reactivated old hip injuries. Bummer. It's a sweet little Prius 5. I will go back to a Toyota Seinna. Waiting for dealership owner to call back to see what we can work out so I don't loose to much money.

Aussie that story was so vivid and funny, what a crack up that was. Glad that it turned out good, but it was funny.

Susan Thanks for asking about the stones. I forgot i was to make phone calls to set up ultrasounds. The episode is finally over. The pain with each urination subsided since  beginning of event wed july 2nd and officially ended a day or so ago. That was longer than the last one by + - 7days. The pain sequence is very unusual. PCP had no clue. Neither do I. I'm guessing it has a name and when I get to the nephrologist or GU doc they'll know. But with all the stone patients I've had over the years, I've never heard of a similar complaint. Also, never read of it. New learning experience that 's one of those CHIT WHAT'S THIS. It's happened with all three, and I do now it's related to the nervous system because i saw an anatomical picture that show the nerve pathways.

Did you say you were posting a pic of the tomato toss? :) Sounds like great fun!

In Grand Rapids did you know any Kelley's or Gallagher's? Sorority sisters. Lost contact with them after college, but it'd be fun if you knew them. Kelley's dad was a judge.

Smarrty, thanks, I've passed the info to my BFF.

Chevy I'm supposed to be able to take pics and movies with this little computer, but it will be awhile before it's high enough on the TO DO  list.

Tang Waving Good Luck today. :)Bluebird Hugs

Pattypepper it's okay . It wasn't code, but much of it was old history that's better to remain old history.

Spookie That reminds me of another memory. It was SOOOOooooo embarassing. Dear Brother was picking me up at the airport. I see him in a car. Thought he didn't tell me he got a new car. I get in and say "Wow when did you get the new car". This fella turns to me and says "Lady I don't know who you think I am, but would you get out of my car".  I was stunned speechless. He was a dead ringer for my brother

Aussie, I was laughing at your story about your 'missing car'. Don't ever let your husband off the hook about losing the car...so funny, a story you'll have in your family to pass down and laugh about later. One time I was at the bank and came out to find an elderly man leaning against my car calling someone on his cell phone because he couldn't unlock the car door. I explained to him that he couldn't unlock the car door because it was my car...his was parked a few feet away from mine. Certainly glad the police didn't show up.

So, the new sleep app showed I slept 5 hours, 36 minutes and woke up 3 times. You've right Chevy, it doesn't account for animals or other people in the bed, so really not all that accurate.

    Hugs to all today....
