Hello ladies.  busy day today - vacuuming, steaming floors, laundry, dishes, all that stuff.  Hubby went fishing, but no fishies today.  Now I'm going on to sewing....  :)  tomorrow is acupuncture and detox hopefully followed by a pedicure.  I think I'll give myself a manicure.  Because of my lymph removal I don't let anyone else do those.

Have a lovely day, you lovely ladies.

blessings...very interesting....I am lucky that I don't have addictive tendencies. Stubborn tendencies , very much. I had a bit of a hard time visiting my daughter cause I was still on strike from all drugs..lol my daughter kept asking me how that was working for me..ha ha. I am not looking to get rid of all pain all the time. Just need to feel better while I am working...still don't chemically understand why acute verses chronic would or would not cause an addiction.

Gotta go for a scan Friday to see if Waldo is lurking any place other than my swollen nodes.

Chevy...st. Francis became st. Christopher from post to post...lol.   Do u know who u have ?

2nd..hugs to you. Hope the week settles down a bit to give you a breather :)

    Hi to all

GG. Steaming floors? I've thought about that. I'm not a germophobe but have heard steam cleans the dirt better. What kind of flooring do you have? I have laminate, some tile. What kind of cleaner?

We have tile and hardwood floors (hickory).  We bought the steamer at a home show.  the brand is Smart Living Plus (don't know what the plus is...  :)  I really like it, though.  Hubby and I have terrible allergies, so I try to avoid cleaners.  It doesn't, however, remove black heel marks - which is really frustrating as our kitchen and family room tile is white - and the black heel marks are almost impossible to get out.  got any suggestions???

I want to say acetone, nail polish remover. Chemo brain strikes again. It's actually a good solvent for lots of icky sticky things.

Isn't St. Christopher who you hang from the rearview mirror? What kind of car does Chevy drive - an armored tank?

My question too Spookie. I have Pergo and ceramic tile. Mostly need something for the ceramic tile - where the dog stays and where we take off nasty boots. The Pergo is only small amount in kitchen. Then we have the massive amounts of carpet. I saw the neatest floor in a friend's house. It was laminate planks looks just like wood. Lay in by single planks. I would love to pull up carpet and put that in most of the house but alas no moolah to do.

    Hiya Phyllo.

Does Mr. Clean magic eraser come on a mop head? Might do it to your dreaded black heel marks - bet you remember the floor wax commercials.

magic eraser is the best !!!!!

I have the laminate wood floors. They are very affordable and look great. Would not have them with kids at toy ages. When they get chipped, there is no wood under the chip. It's white. They have markers to color it in. They say  indestructible, but they lie !

I hated the carpet so much I PERSONALLY pulled it up. My DH is/was a contractor, so I had cheap labor costs. If you watch, Home Depot and Lowes are always running sales in the stuff. I love it, and will never have carpet again.

  • camillegal
    camillegal Posts: 15,710

Spookie u pulled it up yourself? Wow that a hard job. I don't blame u for liking wood floors, I only liked carpeting when it was new but then u'd have to try and clean those stupid corners and I hated that. It never looked good for long really, where as wood can look good easily.

It's getting dark out earlier and earlier but tonite I seem to notice. OK that's it.

spookie, I pulled up carpet from the steps...started at the top....guess what I ended up on...yep...good thing I didn't crack that tail bone..I bounced better then...lol

I've been trying to get DH to agree to pull up the carpet in our upstairs. It's probably just plywood underneath, but that could be painted. It's super dusty and hard to clean. The downstairs is oak hardwood and we just have an area rug in the living room.

  • camillegal
    camillegal Posts: 15,710

Wrenn that's what I was trying to say it's like carpeting just attracts everything deep inside even cleaning it., My room in the whole house is an add on and it has wood flooring and I have an area rug in the middle, but the rug was here and clean no one seemed to use this room much, if I ever have any extra money (Oh I'm making myself laugh) I would change it, but it OK for now o forever. LOL

Love that welcome, holeinone. Chevyboy, you sound surprised like everyone else, including my doctors, this was not supposed to happen. I had my first in 2001, chemo, rads and lumpectomy, 10 years later, the other breast, lumpectomy and rads. One year later, after a false alarm, MRI's biopsy etc. I decided to have a double mastectomy with implants, to avoid all of this crap. Now, just 2 years later another diagnosis, lumpectomy and now just finished 7 of 33 rad treatments. I must say I am not handling it as well as I did the other 2 times. I saw a therapist today, it helped some.

    camillegal Posts: 15,710

33333333 I can't imagine anyone handling it well, once is bad enough--I feel so bad for u, altho we really can't do much for u, we can be here so u can say whatever u feel like it and maybe do some venting, or just talking whatever we can do we'll try to help as much as possible. This is a great group and we do get silly from time to time, but there is always some serious going on too. It's whatever u want to share with us. Most of us are pretty open books here and when u'r here for a while the feeling of care and support are so here. So I hope u get comfortable with us.

wow, had to go back 2pages to catch up.   Welcome 3, sorry to hear you're going thru this again.

Interesting about carpet vs wood floors. Been thinking about pulling ours up. We had the whole house done 2 years ago but it's not holding up well. Waiting for Costco to tell us what they'll do about fixing it. I was always afraid of having wood floors since we're getting older. To me it's seems like it would be easier to slip and fall. Any problems with that ladies?

Blessings, glad to hear you're doing better.

Whatever you guys decide, cards or posting, I'm ok with. Hope you're hanging in there FBB.

OH, I  found out I have arthritics in the thoracic spine area but not down low in the lumbar region. At least now I know why it's been hurting. Guess it's a good thing I'm losing weight. Almost to 30 lbs.  We start eating real food in 2weeks. Yeah.

Ok, most of you are in bed so have a good day tomorrow, back to the apartment for me. We're finally getting close to being done.

holy crackers! i take a break for a few days and you ladies put 10 pages on!

2nd, Hugs to you and your parents. Sounds like you are having a really hard time right now. Looking for work is never fun.

Chev- iTunes- when you close it, you shut the program down, so if you want to access your account again, then you would need to sign in. You should not have to sign in though unless you are purchasing something. The authorization issue - is this on your new computer? Let's PM this- I will need more info from you and can send you some articles. You don't need to turn your system off every night, just put it in sleep mode.

AussieS- that is probably the funniest stereotypical "Man" story I have ever heard! I bet your DH never asks for directions either? Glad your car wasn't actually stolen though.

Enerva- Canada sure is beautiful! Motorcycles! I've never been brave enough to ride more than a couple of times. But, if i had a ducati- i would ride it! You have a beautiful head and your curls are lovely. I hope mine stay around!

Sas- i like that, "splat"- i may steal it! Sorry you are having to give your new car up. I hope your back isn't too bad.. let us know when you have FFBs card thread up.

Susan- tomato toss sounds like a blast! Your SIL must be crazy. Where does she think her daughter would sleep? sending hugs to you right now.

PawPrint- what kind of app are you using? I have been thinking about getting a FitBIt or something similar to track my sleep as well as my movement throughout the day.

Cam- hope you are not washing away! You can send that rain on down to Texas- we need it so bad. Smellin' like peaches, eh?

Nettie- that pilot joke was funny!

Luv- I get pedis once every 4-6 weeks. Your feet are usually neglected, and you deserve it. I'd ask around for referrals, but you can almost always count on an Aveda salon to be clean. I stayed away from them while in chemo though. I just did not want to take any chances.

    Spookie- cute car!

Patty- keeping my fingers crossed that your counts are not an indication of anything.

Holein1- Happy bday to DD and hope your anniversary was not too hard on you.

Tang - sweet photo! glad to see you are looking good! sounds like your rads tech is good and will be there for you when you need it. I got crampy in chemo. I am not sure why, as I was not having my period. And started taking tamoxifen before I started again, but every once and a while, I get cramps. I think our hormones are still cycling, just not at the same level. I should probably ask my MO

Smaarty- I will check on shipping costs- omg it is gorgeous!

Phylidilli- I hope that you are elig. for that trial! fingers crossed for you!

    GG- enjoy your day tomorrow!

3rd time Steph- welcome and hope that your fibro stays calm and your 3rd gets gone!

    4what? where you at?

Blessings- rest your brain- we are here for you when you can get back!

Wren- just pull it all up- carpet is so unhealthy! then you can paint whatever is under there and not worry about it.

    FBB- thinking of you.

I've been super busy working overtime trying to save for my trip to England,  and trying to see people and family,  and trying to get things done around the house. I wish I could take about 2 years of (with pay) to just get chit done! ugh!  Never enough hours or energy. Just started working with a trainer to get my butt in shape and get this fat off of me. I need to lose about 80 lbs, and it is time I started getting serious.  Detoxing off sugar is HARD!

Hoping we end up with some rain this week. Things are dry and hot.

    xoxo to you all!

    Good Morning gals!

Blessings.. I meant to comment on your post
yesterday, but I SAH didn't!....(that's short for sure as
    hell)............

Anyway what you said was all about our conception
    of how pain meds work!

I have never taken anything other than
OTC...(that's short for over the counter) even when I had the Lumpectomy.... I
could just get by with either Aleve, or Xstrength Tylenol....

Even for back surgery, I just took 600 mg of
Ibuprofen.... because I was just so afraid of what those other drugs would do
    to my head!

But with this hip thing, they gave me Oxycodone in
the Hospital, and I could take Tylenol in between the "every 4 hours" if I
needed to. It DIDN'T take away all the pain... and it plugged me up like you
    wouldn't believe.

So I just quit the prescriptions! Took Tylenol
or Aleve instead, and it worked well enough, and I didn't get plugged up, and
my head is still working straight.... shut UP Cammi!

It makes sense, that when you have to take more,
go get rid of that pain, your body just gets so accustomed to that, and doesn't
    help as much anyway!

So do I have the general conception of what you
    were talking about ... ?

I KNOW you will say yes, but Cammi is over there
    laughing her ass off!

Something has to be DONE about her.

ANYway Blessings.... nothing wrong with YOUR
    brain! Ha!

Littlegoats! Good for you! I always call the
providers, like our phone, and Comcast, trying to get the best deals! Even my
Sprint cell phone... I don't get all the fan-dangled features on it, but I
    don't need it anyway...

The gal said, "I'll give you the program that my
Mom has.... It's $15 a month, for 150 minutes... plus 20 cents per text!"

I don't even use THAT many minutes... because we
have a land line. So if we whine enough, sometimes it
    helps!

    Phyllipretendingsheisnormal........... Yes, I'll
be with you in your new "party" affiliation... ! The "Know Nothings"... I like
that... Cammi is an automatic "shoe-in."

    We "Know-nothings" have to unite... It's a
political party, right? Okay, that's perfect.

Okay Miss SusieQ..... Well Theresa said he was
St. Joseph, but I surmised he

was St. Christopher.... But I looked up statue
pictures, and he turns out to be St. Francis! And that's because he has 2
little birds on his folded arms!

She has about 3 rosaries on him... So I am truly
going to be blessed.... I just KNOW it.

Spookie, I use Bono cleaner for my Laminate... It
works really good.... probably as good as white vinegar and water.... I
    think.

You know what I love for cleaning? My Orlando
Daughter told me about that purple cleaner... Walmart has it for under $5 ... In
the Automotive section... I use it for scuff marks, and grease, etc. You
dilute it, and it works great...! It's called Purple Power, in a big white
    container.

I even use that on all my outdoor furniture,
    etc.

Oh Littlegoats! You made me laugh! NO,
damnit... and wait! St. Christopher is for travelers, that's why he hangs in
your damn car! "an armored tank?" Well, it FEELS like it! How about trading
your what-ever for my 99 Chevy Prizm with the damn stick-shift in it for
awhile? Heh, heh! I wish it didn't run so good... THEN we could go get
another one, if DH thought this one was on it's last legs.... like
    me!

AND we took up our carpeting, and laid down
    laminate! I LOVE it!

This is one picture, but we finally bought an
indoor-outdoor carpet, to set under the table and chairs! I mean you could
break your neck, bending over in those chairs, and sliding across the room with
    those roller wheels.

But I LOVE how easy it is to clean. It wasn't the
cheapest kind, it is cushioned underneath... and they "click & lock"
    together....

We pulled our carpet up also! And then cleaned
that flooring, and painted it, just because! My DD and I did the bedroom
laminate, but MAN, it is a little tough on knees, getting up and down, but we
were laughing so hard, trying to scatter the different lengths for fitting, it
sort of took the pain away.

Wren, ours was just plywood also, but that's
okay! You just fill all the nail-holes, pull up that strip with those nails
that held down the carpet, and CLEAN up all that STUFF from the disintegrated
carpet padding! Then after I cleaned that floor good, I painted it with any
    kind of left-over paint!

Or Cammi! You don't need Laminate.... Just take
up the carpet, and paint that sub-flooring brown... Or any color you want! A
    lot less work!

And then you have to put the base-boards down...
it's even BETTER if they are NOT warped! I stained them to match the Laminate
    first.

So good to see you are posting here 3333333333!
You have gone through a LOT! I just can't imagine! Just take each day at a
time.... My friend Jackie said this when she was going through chemo.... "Just
give me 10 minutes... Then when that goes by, 10 minutes more"..... It's just
    gotta be soooo hard!

But oh no! Cammi says we get silly? She is
teasing! Never silly.... Maybe, oh well..... yes..... silly is the word. But
honestly, we talk about everything, even stuff we can't talk about with
    family...!

So give us the dirt.... we can take
    it!

Okay Smarty.... We never slip and fall on
ours... I do that in the alley!

It is not slick, and we bought ours from a regular
flooring place, but you can look at samples on the Internet... I forget how
much it was, but it was a really good kind, but buying from a "warehouse" made
    it a lot more affordable...

    http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/c/Blacksburg-Barn-Board-Laminate-Dream-Home-St.-James-12BB-K/10023939

I FOUND it! This is exactly what we bought! I
think we put it down about 5 years ago, and no chips.... of course, what would
    walking around in Crocs hurt?

Oh THANKS JWow! THANKS for telling me about
"sleep" mode.... And iTunes is now in my system try, and I can just click on it,
    and it is there!

I bought that book, Windows 8 for Dummies...
appropriately enough...Ha! But I haven't really started it...

Been so busy setting up my stereo system our
neighbor gave us, and going through all their CD's and Tapes! I just LOVE the
    songs we have now~

GOOD GRIEF GERTIE! You talked to ALL of us on
    your post! I'm impressed!

Okay... onward and upward today gals!

As for u Chevy, are u in competition of some kind to see who can write the most on a post?? Yes I know it rhymes. U spent 3 whole minutes on statues, when all u had to do is ask me-U know I'd know--Ahem--and yes we figured u liked u'r floors, right off that little bat of yours so I'm glad about that, otherwise u would have ranted about that.  Sorry if I sound hard on u==wait no I'm not sorry but someone has to keep u in check.

Blessings I hope u got rest and every day u will heal.

FBB I hope u'r lurking and feel better.

OK time for me to open up my stuff for my crazy little job. after all I am a professional, and my 1-900 # is Oh no didn't mean the 900 number I meant another number--U know how I can't remember.

Susan I'm sorry u'r going thru this hard time. And I know what it's like to have loads of chemo, it's u'r life for a couple of years but they have some good stuff out there and u just keep on showing up when they tell u to, then one day it's over and they've accomplished what u wanted. Like I've said NED and remission are 2 beautiful words and u go on. Please don't look at it in the whole picture just go one trip at a time and let them keep track of it, and if u want to know the SE's of each one let them tell u--I personally didn't want to hear it and told them so. But whatever u'r going thru I hope u will share it with us, cuz sometimes we can help. I didn't come on BCO until all my junk was over, but I'm never sorry I've been here and wish I wouldn't have waited so long--there are beautiful people here. And when I had chemo I talked and LOLed with everyone and even tho I'd see them come and go I just talked forever --I think they were trying to really knock me out with Benedryll which I loved in my drip, but after a while everyone would keep me awake and I looked at it like therapy not chemo. A lot of people brought someone with them so there were more people to talk to, Personally I wanted to go alone--so it's up to you. But I know u will do fine, u've got a great outlook and this certainly helps. And use u'r humor as often as u can, it resonates thruout. I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm preaching but I guess I am---I just care.

cami,,young not preaching....but Ned and remission will, never b in my vocab. Not with what I have at this point. Buying time is my key phrase. There is always an adjustment period between switching treatments...obviously I haven't adjusted yet...lol.  But I will in time.....would rather vent to you guys than worry my family to much with what I am feeling. I just called my mom and told her what was going on and she started telling me about her grocery list. I said I had to go and she asked why...I can't believe I said this,,,but I told her I was looking for empathy, not her grocery list....I told her I would call someone else......I am sure i am now on the you know what list with her....ahihhhhhhh
