Yes Peppermint! 55 at night...! But we are under covers, so if it gets below 55 it comes on....It has warmed up to 32 degrees! And the sun is shining... Time to go outdoors without my jacket... things to do.... Ha!

Nice picture Smarty! You look like you are having soooooo much fun!

Smaarty - glad you loved your trip. Sorry about the phone mishap. Now you've got an extra. Bradley is adorable. Love the rug choice. Beautiful picture of you and your DH.

Yay Dutchie for your scan results.

Patty - Yay for your MO visits and lower tumor markers. Hope you got a good rest in.

JWoo - Loving the pics from England. I can't remember. Is your friend you're traveling with from there?

Holeinone - I know about shoulder pain. If only I would do my exercises. Getting in/out of coats and sweaters is hard.

It's been ridiculously cold here for North Texas. 42 today, 37 yesterday but didn't get as cold last night as expected; was expecting 20. Forecasting some light snow Sunday night. Rose - doesn't sound so good with all the tree damage.

Chevy - we keep our thermostat at 68 but the room I'm in says 66 right now and also the den where DH is. Sleeping under warm covers and electric blankets is one thing but that darned toilet is soooo cold at 3 am for a potty break. Having a cup of green tea with a splash of orange liquer in it. Yummy.

Went to glaucoma doc today for big annual visit. Seems I'm going to need laser surgery in January. My eyes do not drain properly inside which is adding to my glaucoma. Will do one eye prob. R since it's the worst and then the L a week later. In office. Says DH does not really need to be there but reminded doc I drive 45 min. into town. DH will be there at least for the 1st one. If for some reason I cannot drive home afterwards I will be up that proverbial creek so will prob. make him go to 2nd one too.

Uh Chevy I don't see no stinking chocolate cokes or mac/cheese on that link. What you smokin' girl?

Is everyone taking Friday night off?

    imageSleep soundly and peacefully everyone

  • JWoo – seriously awesome pics! Envious!

    2TA – sending you virtual hugs….

MOmmyof2 – how much snow did you get?

    Susan3 – I want those birdies!

    Teka – good advice!

    Hi, grammakathy!

    Hi, Sassypants!

Rosevalley – sounds like a wonderful trip to Florid. RE the falling tree…. I remember when we had our mountain house. DH was up there one weekend, and heard a huge CRACK and a big BOOM! The giant oak tree across the street had cracked and fallen over, just missing a neighbor's house. He called the neighbors who owned the property (they lived in southern California and he let them know) and in TEN MINUTES, all the other neighbors, plus the volunteer firefighters not only cut the tree completely down, but cut it into firewood, stacked it by the house, and completely cleared the road it was blocking. Such a wonderful community spirit up there.

Magdalene – I hate those "both ends" kind of digestive pyrotechnics…. Glad you are feeling better! May be a while before you eat another kielbasa, though….

Pawprint – what's happening with your Sleep Study? I FINALLY got my APAP machine re-set and am using it for most of the night. I started a thread called CPAP USERS – LET'S TALK, where we exchange ideas.

    Dutchiris – good news!

    Hi, Nettie!

Smaarty – LOVE the pic of you and DH on the cruise…. And Bradley is a cutie-pie! Waiting for more pics!!!

PattyPeppermint – Yay – good news!

HoleInOne - years ago I fell on my outstretched hands and knees. Got rotator cuff tears on both sides. The left one was so bad I needed a complete shoulder reconstruction, but I was lucky to get a top notch Sports Medicine surgeon who did it arthroscopically. It still took about 9 months before the pain went away. The right side was less torn up, but still gives me fits occasionally. Shoulder injuries are not for sissies!!!

Oh, Chevy – yes, I'm staying hydrated. I think most of my dizziness is from my head trauma last summer. Ick. Stay warm back there!

Luvmygoats – the toilet seats in our mountain house were deadly. They were so cold they could give you a heart attack. (For the longest time our only source of heat was wood stoves.) I kept meaning to get some of those knitted toilet seat covers from Walter Drake so I wouldn't keel over from shock in the middle of the night. As for your glaucoma surgery – I vote YES – have DH take you and bring you home!!!

    Luvmygoats,

You are so right, it's the motion of lifting my shoulder into clothing. Also cleaning, lifting. I am sore from physical therapy. I made an appt. with a ortho surgeon in the big city that specializes in shoulders. I, obviously do not want surgery. 2013 & 2014 I paid my deductible, ( $6,000 ) Chemo in 13, radiation in 14... So, I am hoping he will ex ray it & tell me it is tendinitis. That is what the therapists says, she thinks it is. She was confident that I did not have frozen joint. The $ is insane, our insurance is like everyone, expensive. DH was in hospital with staph for 8 days, our medical chit has taken over our lives.

Ok, I will quit whining......maybe try the green tea with the tasty stuff. I think I might have that up in the cupboard.

2nd, great cartoon....so appropriate, it is freezing here, beautiful snowfall this afternoon. The snowflakes were enormous, floating down. Ah, I am not excited for the frigid winter. Starting to look for a rental for a short time south. I would love to spend a week at the beach....

Blessings, thinking of you & Laguna Beach.. So sorry you are not healing as fast as you want. What is your Dr. Saying ? You sound completely normal, well, much more normal than a few of our ladies.....he he...Seriously, you are doing great by us... Time will heal you...

I am hitting the send button, before I lose this......Happy Weekend.....

  • Arghhhh. Just got used to going without my cane... my balance was getting better. Then last Tuesday, the dizzy spells hit me in waves. Thanks to meclizine and Valium, I was able to NOT get sick. Sick

But I sure was walking around like a drunk, running into walls and furniture. Thank goodness for my walker.

Today was pretty bad, but thankfully, my Acupuncturist worked me in after lunch. After some acupressure in my wrist (I asked her for no needles on my SNB side), some needles in my feet, and in my ear, I left feeling a whole bunch better. Praying that it stays that way!!! It's been five months since my Traumatic Brain Injury. I want it cured NOW.

Rain has stopped for now, but the weather guy is teasing us with possible showers next week! Will still be in the high 60's, though....

I'm just hoping for some nippy temperatures (and maybe some snow at the higher elevations?) for Thanksgiving. We have plans at a lodge near Yosemite. Woot! Happy

Nighty night, all my Owlettes! Stay warm wherever you are!!!

    xoxoxoxo

Blessings, we posted at the same time....I knew you were doing fantastic, your post are perfect.

I had my right shoulder repaired 10 years ago. Rotator cuff tendon tear, bursa sac torn to shreds. They sawed the end of the collar bone off. PAINFULL, you know. I feel kinda guilty going to a surgeon when I am confident that I do NOT need surgery, but if I do, I do not want to pay another $6,000 deductible. I am guessing I might end up having to pay that anyway, getting a Zometa infusion twice a year.

Now, I promise to STOP whining.....

Blessings are you able to yoga? I am going to get back to it. I too have been out of balance and I am suffering from some headaches and skin problems. I am with you I want to feel better like my old self. Try to rest and relax tonight. The days will get better.

hi guys, today I took the first step of going all natural. I'm more blonde than I ever been! I tried some wigs on while in Florida so decided it was time to quit dyeing my hair. Susan, I see you're lurking, trying your suggestion. It should take a couple of months.

I've got a million things to get done in the next two weeks and feel like I'm not getting anywhere!

I hope you all have a good weekend and nobody freeze

Morning goils! Littlegoats, Yes... I love warm blankets, and to have the bed heated up before I get in... preferably with about 6 guys.... then I get in, and sleep like a log...

But get those toilet SEAT covers... like the LID covers, and they are made of Terry-cloth, and fit right over the seat! THEN you don't have to fly up to the ceiling, and say bad words when you sit down!...

And you say a "splash" of orange liquor? SURE it is... More like a gallon of Amaretto with a dash of tea.

And the chocolate cokes and Mac and cheese were there! They were on the next page... :)

Morning Teka and Spookers.... Frozen? You don't know what frozen is... What IS it there...? 72? It is 20.2 right now.... still dark, and supposed to get more snow today.... But THEN, warming up to the 40's next week!

COLD, she says.... she don't know cold.... Cold to her is slightly chilly to us. Meaning you might have to put on long PANTS and wear SHOES instead of flip-flops.... and carry a jacket in case it gets down to like 70.

Blessings! So good to see you here! Yes, probably from that head thing. Wait until you get MY age, then you will have several MORE things to blame it on.... :)

Smarty, I just colored my hair... YOUR hair looks great.... I've been coloring my hair since I was 21... that was about 10 years ago.... and it's always been brown.... light, then dark... but always brown... So that's what I still am... I wouldn't KNOW who I was with a different color, or like shall we say WHITE? HaH! And I only do it about every 2 months... So no problem... That's why I say I'm rather glad I broke my hip instead of my arm.... I would have just fallen clear apart!

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004IAIHGC/?tag=flooidea-... I ordered mine from Carol Wright gifts, but Amazon has them too!

Also if you order them, I don't take the little "plastic ring" out of them to wash... I just spray, and let soak in the sink, and then squish them with my hands, in soapy water & oxy-clean, then rinse, and dry hanging on a line.... outdoors.... preferably when the temperature is above like 50!

Wouldn't THAT be funny? Putting on a frozen one, and not telling DH? Hah!

  • good morning ladies.

So glad to read what's going in with everyone. Not much new here. Love reading about everyone's exciting life. Pretty boring here. So ready to get back to some kind of excitement and joy in life. Pain be damned.

Hope y'all have a great day. Hootie hoo

Holeinone - I went thru shoulder PT this time last year. Not much definitive diagnosis, costochondritis of clavicle with shoulder involvement I think. Did 12 PTs. I've read the frozen shoulder threads here, not sure exactly where the cutoff between tendonitis/froz. shoulder is. Ortho might try steroid inj. 1st for you. At this point I can't afford to go back to ortho just to be sent for more PT. I've also read that shoulder strengthening exercises rec. for froz. shoulder and that's the exer. I have. Promised myself (!!!) that I will start doing them today. Eye surgery will cost $2400 all on us plus extra gas and maybe spec. visit fee. Am hoping that BCBS PPO says my negotiated rate is lower but clerk may have already spoken with them. Not sure. Will just wait for ins. to shake out - I've gone to him since 2006 so they know me well. At least he says I can postpone until Jan since I've met only a pittance of my deduc. this year - which is actually a good thing. At least glaucoma damage has not increased - yay for that at least. DH would have difficulty taking extra days off right now so Jan. is good for that. Yes - that twisting motion is the killer. I have some trouble getting to sleep finding the right spot but after that I'm good. Insomnia is not usually my problem unless I have big ole worries. Then I tend to wake up middle of night and worry for a bit. But be forewarned they do like to do MRIs on shoulders. I'd had a chest CT/bone scan last year so my ortho only did plain shoulder exays in his office why I do not know. Lucked out on the MRI but last year I would have met deduc at least but not anywhere near out-of-pocket amt.

Smaarty - that's the way I went gray - well mine is more white. Still has some dark underneath in back esp. I highlighted heavily then let it grow thru. I've been white for about 6 years now. I could not keep up with the roots and that was about the time I went back to work so it was a good time.

Whole 45 degrees here 10:45. We have had maybe 30 minutes of sun. Various weathers say my part of N Texas might get an inch of snow tomorrow night. Just wait and see. Nowhere to be Monday.

Blessings - one step forward two steps backward. Sorry. Glad acupuncture helped. Have you tried the acupressure bracelets? Have no clue how tight they have to be, if they'd worsen your LE.

Patty - hope your day improves. Hugs.

Aw Mommyof2 - So sorry about you kitty cat. That is the very hardest decision. He's know you loved him. (((HUGS)))

I swear Charcoal's still hanging around. Hubby and I have been hearing the bell on his collar that he wore and we brought home, hearing him meow and other things. Hubby thought he saw him run by the bathroom this morning when he got up. I swore he was standing in the entryway between the kitchen and living room when I got up this morning.

  • Oh mommy. So very sorry to hear about Charcoal. I have had 2 dogs in my lifetime I loved and treated like family. They both died from old age. Hurts like Hell. I swear I had a harder time than when some of my real people family died. ( shhh dont tell anyone that part ). Big hugs to you and your family.

Luvmygoats - good news thst your eyes have bit gotten worse. I would def wait Til jan for ins purposes if it was an elective procedure. Crazy how worry seems to come in the middle of the night and wake me. Everyone else in my family is sleeping quitely and my mind is racing with whatever is worrying me. Glad to know I am not alone in that. That's when I like to come on here and see who is awake. I know everyone says keep tv, electronics etc off to get back to sleep but doesn't work for me. Nope I like to come here and occupy my brain with the games and humor topics and def check on my friends from insomniacs! Than the worry fades and I can get to sleep. Or the pain medicine kicks in lol. Either way back to sleep by then. Thanks ladies.

Oh WOW Spookie! You must be freezing your little tush off! 48? I would be out in my garden! It's warmed up to 20.5 right now, and snowing. Supposed to get down to 5 tonight.... Better get a parka on Spookie, and your muck-lucks.... Ha!
