You look cute! Are u really at work? So you are a procrastinator too?

Chevy- you were so right! We gave a dog of ours his allergy meds with cheese... found out after extensive testing the poor animal was allergic to dairy, lamb and some grasses! You guessed it we gave him lamb and rice dog food and he nearly itched himself to pieces. I felt bad. Our cat zoey eats 2 food only catfood, salmon and sweet potato. Her skin cleared up after that. I can't hear for beans either. I love my Costco hearing aides but I probably need to go in and have them up the volume.
Well the train ride was GREAT!. I got some funny pictures of our hold up! Super cute. Such a relaxing beautiful ride up the Hood River - views of snow capped Mount Hood, orchards in full bloom, the biggest lilac bushes ever, baby lambs frolicking, geese and their gosslings along the river. Stood in between the rail cars with the wind in our faces and soaked in the scenery. We stopped off at a town and had ice cream in the sunshine - 75 degrees. What a great day, picnic lunch on the train. Walked around Hood River and hit all the art galleries afterwards.. OMD.. such talent and so fun. Kids had fun, got some very cool rocks at the museum where we stopped off. Long drive 4 hours in the car..oy!
Hope you all enjoyed this day. Patty it seems incomprehensible that you could yo-yo back and forth with the same issue for months now. I would be seeking a second opinion from another bigger hospital. I feel so bad for you. Has anyone heard from Blondie?

Loveroflife - Why, thanks! I try to dress up when I'm at work - lol!! I'm just doing a few things from home that I didn't finish up on Friday. I am almost done with them now, so I am turning in! Definitely can be a procrastinator sometimes! Nighty-night!
Rosevalley - glad you had a great time on the train!!

Damn, had a long post, hit the I pad & lost it. Smaarty, another colorful, creative work of art.
We had an offer on our home. 25 years here, & time to move on. Scary, but this house is huge. We need something smaller & with a little more privacy.
I had an infusion of Zometa yesterday. Not as bad as the first 2. Either that or the yucky side effects will hit tomorrow.
Hello to all here, Patty, hugs & best wishes for better days. You are a tough one. Love your attitude, nice that you & DH got some time together.....
It's late......night all...
Oh Sas, love your new find & your sassy, snazzy purse. You are a uptown girl now...I knew you would take me shopping with you. I love to go thrifting out of town, or in a bigger community. Small town, not much variety. Trying hard not to accumulate more stuff. I quit ( retired ) after my Cancer dx & treatment. Lots of time to wander.
Almost lost this post...yikes...night...

Jazzy... I DID have that problem with my inner-ear one time years ago... So did my Mom..... It was an inner-ear infection, and THAT also caused dizziness.... It got so bad one time, I was holding onto the walls, just trying to walk....
I could HEAR okay, but the dizziness will drive you nuts! Got so bad one morning, I just went outdoors, held my head over my garden and got sicker than a dog! IN MY GARDEN.... mind you!
It all goes away on it's own... But THIS hearing loss hit me, and just stayed.
Loverly! LH&P means Love, hugs, and prayers.... you little dickens! I didn't know that one either.... Ha!
You sound like a really loving Mom to that 11 year old!.... When my first Grand-son was 11, his Mom, put him on the plane to meet ME in San Francisco.... Their driveway was covered with snow, but Brandon shoveled the whole thing out, so they could be sure and get to the airport!
I was visiting my Dad then in San Francisco, right after Mom passed away. And I wanted Brandon to meet "my Dad"... So we ran to the airport to meet him, pick him up... I WAS FRANTIC! I was so afraid he would get lost!.... But we had a great time together!
I took him all over to my favorite places! The crookedest street, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, The Persidio, Golden Gate park, and Dad's old buddy Jim, this crazy black neighbor of his, showed Brandon how to kill those huge snails with salt! I was mortified! Brandon thought that was the best thing EVER!
Then Dad and Jim would meet at the grocery store, and just YELL at each other like they were MAD! Screaming that Dad was an old white honky B-tard, and Dad would call HIM a good-for-nothing-black-thug.... And all the time, the checkers at Safeway would be rolling on the floor! They were used to this... I just HOPED all the other customers thought this was as funny as THEY did... Brandon thought they were the best friends EVER!
And they were...
I can just see Brandon's head falling over on his chest, sound asleep, on our drive back over the bridge to Dad's house.... We went over to Alcatraz, and that trip was magical.... seeing things through those 11 year old's eyes.... Funny how something reminds you of your precious memories....
Rosie! It was YOU with the Costco hearing aids... ! What kind did you get? I have the Bernafon Veras 9... which they no longer carry... A "newer more whatever" model now.... they say... But they will always service your hearing aids, and give you more "domes" etc. AND hearing tests... They say they last 5 years or more! They have great prices, also.
Glad you had a fun train ride! I took Brandon, when he was 7, and we drove up in the mountains, and rode the Georgetown Loop Railroad! It was amazing! Then on the way down, we stopped in Idaho Springs and climbed through an old mine, and watched and old time "cowboy gun-fight!" Hah!
Sass, I read your new thread, but I really couldn't contribute anything of any meaning to it! I mean I am hardly one for technical knowledge even on THIS thread...! And I don't know nothin' about meds and pharmacies, and their role in my life....
I can barely keep track of the 3 threads I post on! At my age, simplicity is mandatory.... Ha! Shut UP Cammi! I mean it was hard enough to learn how to pole-dance, without learning technical things... It would be like going to school again.... and you all know how THAT went!
Good Morning to everyone else! Nascar is on today.... YAYYYYY! Have to get my work done, so I can relax and watch "the boys" going 180 miles an hour in a PACK, and trying to come out on top..... And running at that speed for 400 laps! .......

Chevy- You are a NASCAR fan? My oldest is a diehard NASCAR fan. When she was 17 she got Make-A-Wish and she wanted to see a race and meet Danica. Well I got to tell you they flew us out to the Indianapolis Speedway for not only the Brickyard race but the Sprint race. We watched from an airconditioned box, full buffet for all the returning Make-A-Wish kids. They had a full house of kiddos! My daughter got to see Danica's car, go behind the scenes, meet Danica, hugs and photo shoot. She died and went to heaven ;it was the most fun for a 4 day weekend. My DD stood down at the fence waving all the cars on in her Brickyard tee shirt -hilarious. Danica was so pretty and sweet with my DD. Then to remember it all they gave her a lovely scrapbook of the event, photos and all laid out. Luckily health wise after sliding downhill for a while, she has plateaued and is maintaining balance with meds.. not on the transplant list. She will be eventually. We feel blessed for now!
Yep I heard Costco aides were good and after owning Phonac 5K and a bunch of others I settled on the Resound from Costco and I LOVE them! It was under 3K for both and they clean them and maintain them for free and the first year you get a warranty loss and coverage for free- that is worth 300 from ESCO. I would recommend them. Never had a membership before buying their hearing aides.
HAve a good day ya'all be well. ((((Hugs to all who need them!))))

I was just doing some work on my ancestry and I got the shock of my life, because ancestry.com is having a weekend where you can look for records of family members who emigrated to this country, I was to find out some more information on my mom's mother's side of the family.
0 -
mommy, don't leave us hanging, what was the shock ?
Rose, I read your post 3 times before I understood that your DD was ecstatic with her wish. I got stuck on the verbaige. I was in a little panic, trying to understand. I am slow this weekend. The zometa on Friday, might have fried my brain. .....lol.....

We never knew much about my maternal grandmother's side. All we knew is that my great-grandparents came here from Germany before WWI. So today while I was on Ancestry, I looked up their immigration records and to my shock, I found my great-grandma Anna's father's first initial and my great-grandfather's father's first name on the record. I also was able to confirm my great-grandmother's original destination upon arriving in the U.S.

M0mmyof2 - very cool stuff! When my Mom had to go into a nursing home with Alzheimer's my brother had to submit my parents marriage license for benefits. We found out that the "anniversary" they claimed was not exactly as we all thought and had been told about. They had actually married 3 months after my brother was born! Wow! Now we all laugh about it..........do as I say I guess! Cheryl

Chevy and all the thread on Wallgreens breaking the law will only go on for a few posts. Not even a page likely. The intent is to get the word out. If you feel so inclined to say something that would be nice.
Beachie

Mommy have fun

Wow ladies - I'm out for a few days and there are like a gazillion posts!

Patty - I'm sorry you're not well again! Maybe I'm completely off here, but there's been a lot a research lately about how gut microbes influence everything from diabetes to depression. Is it possible that the treatments you had (chemo and others too) have completely wiped out the good microbes. It happens a lot more often than people thing. The problem is nobody knows how to treat that other than with probiotics or yoghurt.
I see everybody else has been pretty active. I loooove the purses

Why was I out? Because it was my 'good week' (second week after chemo). And I spent it cleaning the house and scrubbing since I couldn't do it lately and we were going to have a house guest this weekend. It's the Long Beach Toyota Grand Prix and my DH and his friend who is visiting are big fans. I can hear the cars doing the laps from my house!

Went to go listen to music on a patio this morning with a friend with these young folks playing. As I walked up they were playing The Doors, but had a whole repetoire and were very fun. The three fellows and 2 gals harmonized well together.
Great morning of music, food and a friend who joined me for a visit. Love the simple joys like this!

It's often the simple things in life that give us joy.

Finding that bit of information on my maternal grandmother's side of the family was amazing. The only family that my grandmother said her mom talked about was Great-Grandma's sister.

Smarty - Wow - that quilt is beautiful!! I keep wanting to make one from my DD's old t-shirts, but I have a long way to go.
Holeinone- congrats on the contract on the house!
Jazzygirl - Glad you had a great time!
Mommy - congrats on finding that info on your family!

Holeinone- some times this site is possessed. evrything just vanished. Don't worry about the Make-A -Wish post and not understanding it, It was mostly to Chevy about how sweet the NASCAR sport is to cancer, terminal & life threatening disease effected kids. The drivers and all, go all out. It was a very special experience. Since there were many kids there, obviously Nascar folks enjoy making the kids have a great time. It's not your chemo brain... I just talk too much.

I kind of tune out a little, when everyone shares a special remembrance between each other, i speed read those posts since I wasn't there. I skip the glass, since I am not into collecting patterns. I like the photos and check out the pictures and love the quilts and shared art. I pour over the animal postings since I love critters and gardens.. good jokes, funny stories. Good luck moving. I HATE packing.. ugh. Have a nice week. Blondie sounds better. Hope Patty is on the mend. ibgal- sounds like your week off is going to wear you out! Hope company is fun. Jaz- i love hearing good street music! nite!

hbgmysite- You are new as of April 19th to BCO and do not have diagnosis posted of BC or treatment. It makes a difference if you are taking BC meds, antihormonals, etc as they effect sleep. Chemo and radiation effects sleep. If you are newly diagnosed, but have had insomnia for 10 years then I would follow up with your PCP and ask for a sleep study to check out possible causes. At the beginning of this thread are listed many links to read on this topic. Start checking out the information there first. Good luck.

Finding that info on my family was like finding another piece of the puzzle.

Rosie! You're the only one HERE, Ha! Yes, I gotcha! The race got rained out .... I hope it's on this morning... I read about that, and also about Steve Byrnes.... who works with Nascar... the Bristol race was dedicated to him.... He had neck and head cancer, and thought the chemo beat it.... but it has returned... So everyone is praying for him and his family.... DAMN!
Oh never mind.... seems they finished the race last night, and FX Sports, and I missed it! It was supposed to be on Fox... Oh well... I get to read all the highlights on the computer... Ha!
I saw the Make A Wish on FB! Great bunch of guys.... Danika is doing alright also! I used to watch her when she drove the Indy Car.... I think Nascar is just as challenging... maybe more-so.... but I got interested in racing about 13 years ago.... Saw my first Sprint cup race in Phoenix... But it's more interesting to watch on TV... Because you get to see it ALL... replays, pit-stops, and hear the announcers talking to everybody... Yes, I'm a gear-head! Our Daughter even took us to Daytona one year... Saw that amazing TRACK! Went through their "museum" and went down to the beach to see where it all started... Have you seen that bank on that track? It's almost got those guys SIDEWAYS! So what were you saying?

Spookie! Where ARE you? I'm trying to stand guard of this web-site...thread.... and I'm all alone...Ha! I need re-inforcements... and coffee....
