Whoa..............Patty, I heard that shout out all the way down here! What a fun weekend. Rocket launch was picture perfect around 12:15 Sat. Us mere mortals can't figure out why no vapor trail. It was beautiful. Lot's of kids for trick or treat. Most creative was a kid dressed as a diver in a shark cage with a shark attached to the top. The cage was made out of paper tubes wrapped with duct tape.
Have a GREAT week

But it was store bought coffee, b/c the coffee maker broke this morning. Always sumpin :0

Morning everyone. Hope everyone had a great halloween/weekend!
Sas-checking out those links now. They definitely need some work. I have an area mid chest that the Dr says may peel or become moist soon? Eh? So I just picked up some hydrocortisone cream cause it itches so bad and it's a lot more red than any other area in the treatment area. They keep telling me I have been through more than most when discussing the fatigue. I find that hard to believe, course I have no comparison except you guys and other people I talk to. They say most, by the time they hit rad's haven't had chemo, BMX, then rad's and working full time with 3 kids haha They're teens, but still kids. (once is 21 but such a pita).
Spookie-love the pics! Guessing she is a bit spoiled? Love the decorations!
I'll try to catch back up but whew, lots to catch up on here and everywhere else lmao
Enjoy your day everyone!
Chevy-hope you are doing ok.

I'm waiting for DH to be ready to leave for his birthday breakfast treat. A local plant nursery has a wonderful little cafe.

Sim, one morning during rads I woke up with wet nightgown. My skin broke and I was soaked. That got me a week off from rads, then boosts, then finished regular rads.
I asked for, and got, lidocaine ointment. Numbed the itches. He also wrote a script for silvadine for the burn. That's good stuff!!

saying goodby to an old friend. We used to have a pair that werebeautiful when they were in full bloom and made an arch across the steps. We think this one was about 25 years old. Was afraid that it would fall over now that the rains have started and it was diseased. All the kids used to climb in it over the years.

Been very productive today. Clean house and baked some cookie waffles. Yeah me

Oh Smarrty, loved a good climbing tree. One childhood memory sitting at the top of a very high & old pine, that I couldn't climb trees when I got old like 30. Lol still did. Now, I won't get on a ladder. Glad you shared about the trees. Old friends.............
Simplicity, I'll link a thread that has info I wrote on how to use silvadene safely. I linked to page one, skim through till you find the silvadene info. It's a good link to keep in favs b/c it has info related to a lot of wound care info.
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/44/topics/754935?page=1
From the search I did the other day re: skin care. Use of skin care anything hasn't been done to rule out whether or not they do harm during active rads except for petroleum products. The links only mention not applying anything for two hours before treatment. There was one Scottish study that said they're was no difference to how skin fared with use of stuff compared to a control group that used nothing. But one study is nothing without backup by repeat studies. The gal I talked to at the burn unit was familiar with multiple cases of ladies that were treated at their facility for rads burns and she only worked there for two years.
I had some other info here re: silvadene -----deleted it..............safety during rads is NOT established.

Oh no! So sad to see a tree that old gone, even though it's not mine. I am coming over for the cookie waffles after work.
Driving to work this morning was no fun. We finally have rain that lasts more than a few seconds. The problem with not having rain for over a period is that people foget how to drive in the rain. We had strings of accidents this morning so the commute was more than stressful. The freeway was like a parking lot and the surface roads were just as bad as commuters were trying to look for different routes to their destinations. Why did they have to chose the same road as me?? Someone needs to invent teleporting transportation. Was an hour late to work, but thankful that I came to work in one piece and that the IBS didn't act up while I was stuck on the road. That's my " broken coffee maker" story today😜
Ms Spookie, yes they are the newly weds. Every year she has xena in different costume and of course, she is always the princess or the like. Xena always ends up being the "beast" or the bad guy

the ones who got married here, and Sas and I got to meet you!!

O Spookie. That's awful. The PT lady told me my skin would become like paper mâché
Was it blood or that watery stuff from a blister? Bleh.Smarty, looks like it was a beautiful tree
Sorry you had to let it go. Lol I feel ya on the driving!
Sas-saw that. It's disturbing how little is known about bc and any affiliated effects like my AWS. Not much research. Why not? Ugh. Aggravating.
Haven't been sleeping well and can't nap. Becoming quite bothersome

Love the pics Jazz. I will be near a river once I am an empty nester. Love the river. Beautiful scenery! Glad you had a good time

Nice pics!!! Always fun to meet up!!!
Yes, it was just a clear fluid leaking, oozing. Messy. A sanitary pad would have been good to soak it up if I'd thought if it.

Yay Susan and Quennie, I'm from Detroit. The lake Michigan coast line is about the prettiest in the world. So, glad you gals got to meet. Great pics. Dear Brother was looking to move to Hawaii. Settled on north Michigan coast. He met a guy that moved from Hawaii, that said that coast was more beautiful then anything in Hawaii. Isn't that something.
Bought a coffeemaker----------too many hours comparing, got a Bonavita1900TS. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but great reviews all over the place. CNET best buy and SCAA certified. Almost makes me happy that I messed this one up. Hope the coffee is as good as all the reviews say.
Simplicity, that's why I was glad never to have gotten into the rads talk about skin care. Just observing I didn't think much had been done. Totally sucks. What has happened is to much in medical/nursing circles is non-FDA approved stuff things get promulgated without safety review. Then you have things that are approved and no research supports it's use. Miaderm is FDA approved and might be a fine product. But a fast review pulled out two chemicals that are iffy. YET, it says developed by a radiation oncologist. Take any chemical and subject it too radiation, what does it do to the chemical and it's reaction with the skin? What's it mean in the long term? Check out Jackbirdie's posts on Pinktober Revolution about the program Look Good and Feel Better. It was loaded with products that are cancer producing. She's on a crusade to get it turned around.
I can get ahead of this birthday instead of being behind and having to do a do-over. Spookie's is Nov 14th, please, mark your calendars.

Spookie has a birthday coming up? Should we have an on line partay?

Susan3, Was that carousel the one that was on Silver Beach in St Joe? I spent many a happy day there while visiting my cousins!

Yes, it is a blessing to be able to meet other BCO sisters. Nice pic ladies. Hey Queenie, is Susan as crazy as she presents herself? And Susan, is Queenie humorously sarcastic in person? Love the punk rock hair style.
Ms Spookie, what?!!?!! You are not talking about your lymphedema arm, are you?
Jazzy, oh so nice. Love the changes in color. Thanks for taking the pics for us to see.
Mommy's BD is this month also. If I remember correctly, it's on November 25th.

Vietnamese coffee maker only $4.99. No electricity needed. Just add coffee ground and hot water. You ought to get one for back up, Ms. Sas. Haha
0 -
Yep, mine is on the 25th

Well, I've been to Hawaii,, but not to Lake Michigan,, if it is prettier than Hawaii,, I guess I better get up there!
YAY for meet-up!! Awesome to "see" you both.

Lover: we tried to be polite. Beyond that, I admit nothing, except that my hair does do exactly that. And I'd gladly have lunch with Susan again.
GypsyJo: the carousel in the background of Susan's pictures is a comparatively recent one (within the last ten years?). But it harks back to an earlier amusement park that was on/at Silver Beach. I'll have to ask my neighbor of mature years when that was--I can't recall right off the top of my head.
Susan: (pretends to be stern) Did you make it safely to your destination?

Loverly, not my LE arm, rads burns.
SAS YOU BRAT
0 -
Yeah, but Glennie, not in the winter!!!
0 -
Spookie (glennie): yeah, selfies in the winter tend to be rather boring. Whiteouts even at arm's length.
0 -
Queenie, I'm originally from Cincinnati. Glennie is a Florida girl(I think) who lived up north a few years.
NEVER AGAIN🌴🌴👙🌴🌴.
