Chick-Send good wishes your way! My surgery was at 11 and I was home by 3 or 4 on Friday, the 4th. I did not take pain pills after Saturday night, and really only took them due to the lipo area. Total difference.

Evebarry-I had asked my PS about having botox to help the drop and fluff of the implants. He said he liked his high and tight and to drop and fluff naturally and thought that at $50 a unit, the difference wasn't worth the investment. I think in your case, your doc is putting the botox in when he does the mastectomy, correct? I am not sure it will help you then, but it might as you go forward with fills. I didn't have pain for my fills, so it wasn't a big deal, but I can see where it might be helpful to have them relaxed. I had a BLMX and didn't have many problems. I was on arm restrictions for 6 weeks, but after a couple, I had to force myself not to do some things. I would forget. I had a pain pump so didn't really need much pain killer after the first couple of days. Good luck with your decision. I don't think I would want to do one at a time, but I was the same way with wisdom teeth. Had them all out at once.

MTnester-800-900 ccs sounds like a lot for a C cup. I ended up with 425 Mentor high profiles, and I fill out my b cup completely and then some in a couple of them. He wanted to do 450's but the pocket wasn't big enough. I am really happy with the size as I wanted to be smaller than the large C/D that I was before. You might talk to whippet mom on the Exchange site. She is an expert and really helpful.

I had a BMX and TE's put in in Sept.  There hasn't been any infection, but scarring tissue has caused them to "stick" in some places.  The doctor hoped we could resolve it through fills, massage, etc., but no luck.  This week I'm going back into surgery so he can clean up some of the scarring tissue and replace the expanders.  I know it's different for everyone, but any ideas on the recovery time for this procedure compared to the original BMX w/ reconstruction?  Thanks for any replys.

Hello ladies. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Ann-Darling I'm so hoping your infection got better over the weekend. Let us know how your doing.

Chickadee-Yeah surgery is officially today (yes insomnia has struck again). I'm going to fly myself right into your surgery gowns pocket to keep watch over you while your asleep. Sending you lots and lots of hugs and good wishes. I'm doing pretty good, thanks for asking. Just marking off the days to my reinsertion, as time goes by I find myself less and less angry and just going with the, "Shit happens" mentality. Let us know when you can, how your going. Much love.

jbennett38-congrats on getting and exchange date, whenever you chose to do it.

MTnester-glad your home, sorry your so sore. I so know what you mean about timelines. I'm such a planner, but since the "shitty" surgery, I've tried to refrain from using anymore timelines. I'll also be right where you are about "catching lefty up" in a few months. Hope it goes quickly for both of us.

fluffqueen-You know I think I agree with you about the overfills/fills causing the rashes. Thats when mine began, after my last fill and it never was an infection, just tissue irritation and thinning. How have you been feeling lately? This day to day thing does get old doesn't it? I seem to be following your lead. I was all into a planned timeline until my Te was removed as well then had no choice but to take it all as you say one day at a time. Seems to make the waiting easier for reinsertion.

evebarry-have to agree with the other women-can not imagine doing this crap twice. My thought is, your going to be in pain anyway, why not get it over with in one shot. The only good part about the the BMX was that most of my skin left over the TE's was super numb for about 3 months afterwards so it made fills painless. And about the returning to work 2 wks post-op, you may want to rethink that. It can be done by a few as someoneelse mentioned, but most of us need a whole lot longer to recover. I have a very high pain tolerance and it wasn't pain that keep me under the weather, it was the weakness, drains, and exhaustion. Take it easy on yourself, no need to be wonderwomen. This is a major surgery and your body is taking a major hit. Just want to give yourself enough time to heal, physically and mentally. Good luck.

Mich_M-are you as sick as I am of someone telling your to be patient? No I have never been known as a super patient person, but comeon. If another person tells me to be patient or that I will feel whole again before I know it, I swear there is going to be blood.

Tatina-OMG, I almost did the same thing this weekend. Then another time I was in the middle of the grocery and this horrible thought crossed my mind that maybe I had left "Lefty" at home. Of course I hadn't, but it freaked me out that I actually had to think about that now. This shit is crap, Lol.

JaniceRH-WHOLE AND HEALED. Love those words, can't wait to be able to say them. Thanks for stopping by and sharing.

    momof3infl-good luck with your pre-op

hope2011-for me that surgery was way easier and I had and oopherectomy at the same time.

So have a question for you guys. It's been 6wks since Lt Te removed and when I massage the skin, there is one small area (at the bottom of where the TE sat) that has a bit of discomfort when I rub it. It's right about where the PS said the thining was and where the redness use to be. No redness at all now, lots amazingly normal, except of couse for the missing boob. This area also seems to be where the skin is the tightest against my chest. Have you guys had this? I'm worried that there is scar tissue forming which will make it harder at reinsertion. Any thoughts?

    Have a great Monday lovelies.

I finally have clear skin after being on antibiotics for 10 days. PS said it looks good and I got fills today. Catastrophe averted. Praise the Lord. I have both TEs and a couple more fills to go before rads. Thanks for well wishes, and I hope to stay away from "TE TROUBLE" now.

Have as good a Monday as possible. Smile

    All alive - Yay!

Chick - We are all with you!

survivor - glad you are hanging in, I know this is hard!

hope - TE put-back is easier than BMX/TE by far, I would say 2-3 weeks.  I had driving restrictions for 3 weeks but was fine before then, only with lifting restrictions - nothing heavier than a gallon of milk.

All systems are GO for Nov 30 surgery.  Nothing needs to be done on left TE, she says it looks great.  So just right TE replacement and that's it.  Sooo great that I'll have the use of the left side of my body. I didn't have to get bloodwork or anything!  Oh happy day:)))

Chickadee - Hope your exchange went well today! I've been thinking of you.

Rennasus - You can officially change my exchange to squishees date to Dec. 23.  I set it up with the PS office today! I'm getting squishees for Christmas!!

Hello all - hope everyone's doing ok today.

Good news momof3, well, relatively speaking of course. Still sucks that you have to have a TE replaced but great that your lefty looks ok.

Ann - that's great news! Fingers crossed that that's the end of TE trouble for you.

Dawn - re the discomfort at the bottom area of where the TE sat….was your incision below the breast?

Hey guys!  I have squishies!!  Surgery was about 2 hours.  DH of course was in the bathroom when PS came looking for him so all I really know is I have high profile 450's.  I am in pretty significant pain (that the pain pills are not making a dent in) so I have some ideas of how it went.  I think I had lots of scar tissue that he had to work on, especially in the one that has been in for 6 months.  I also think he pulled up some more muscle in an effort to get them closer together.  I have stitches on the sides (near arms) also to encourage them closer together.  I noticed bruising which is what makes me suspect that.  They didn't have a medium surgical bra (of course) so I have a large.  The small, although supposedly my size, was WAY to painful.  It is so nice to not feel those TE's under my arms anymore!  I am kind of surprised how uncomfortable I am.  It hurts to breathe.

Thank you all for all the well wishes today!  Although my TE trouble was relatively minor compared to some of you, you always offered me support, guidance, prayers, and friendship.  You are all a great bunch of ladies and I am so grateful to have hooked up with you!  I hope you don't mind me coming here often to make sure you are all doing OK and getting your implants!  Survivor, thanks for being in my pocket today!

chick - Yay!!!  So glad you are A-OK.  Sorry you are uncomfortable but hopefully it won't last long.  I am guessing it is probably from all the pushing and pulling and moving stuff around in there.  Do you feel kind of beat up?  I am so excited for you!

CHICKADEE: YAY! So happy it went well! Sorry you are in such pain. Maybe another "squishey" can respond with how normal or not your pain level is. Get some rest! And yes please don't disappear, we need you! ;-)

    Ann, AWESOME!

    jBennett: Done!

Momof3: Excellent that you are cleared for surgery! I go in the day before Thanksgiving. I have to have EKG and bloodwork.

Survivor11: You know I am still so numb even tho my BMX was10 months ago! So I have not experienced the scar pain you are talking about, even though I have a ton of scarring in there!

Hope2011: Sorry you have to have your TEs replaced. I will add you to the list if you'd like; let me know your date.

Awww Chick, I got tears in my eyes when you said that it hurts to breathe.  That's how I felt when TE's were first put in, that's exactly what I said.  I'm sure it will get better over the next few days. Rest and smile knowing you have made it to the end!  So proud of you, and was thinking about you all day.

Chick- It does get better! You will need the pain meds in the beginning so don't be afraid to use them. I think it does matter how much scar tissue there was but I found that the pain diminished so much more quickly than with the BMX. And what a great feeling to have the TE's out from under your arms. Hope you get some sleep tonight!

Yea chick has squishies! I hope the pain subsides soon for you.

Mom-glad to hear your good news. I hope the next weeks pass quickly for you.

Ann, what a wonderful relief for you!! A big wahoo!

I think I need to get more info from my ps this week so I can talk to whippet mom. I keep thinking the 720 I have on the right is huge, but what do I know lol. Oh I do know I worked all day-at my desk job, and I took a nap when I got home at 5. Too much too soon, but my options are limited right now.

Renn, I actual had my left TE exchanged for a new one last week. I'm encouraged by whoever said I will be 2-3 weeks recovery versus the longer recovery period for BMX.

You are all in my prayers, may you sleep peacefully and without pain.

    momof3infl-congrats on your surgeryn date.

chickadee-I have squishey envy. Got to tell you, that surgery gown pocket got really tight when those squishes went in. Sorry your in pain, take those darn pills and get some sleep. Keep us updated.

Dawn, it couldn't have gotten too tight because they are definetly smaller then the TE's were.  Fluff and DLL - when do they start to fluff out and exactally what does that mean?  Also I have bruising.  Did either of you have that?

Still hurting this morning.  DH took kids to school and I am going to have a friend drive me up to get them.

I had tons of bruising. I too am wondering about the "drop and fluff"? Mine look pretty good (although kind of flat and wide) but I have not seen any dropping or fluffing...what exactly does that mean?

Ginger-that is how mine look.  flat and wide.  When was your exchange.  Not that I am complaining.  They look good, just curious as to what is next.

Drop & fluff usually happens over the course of a few months, I believe. It isn't a technical term, but it refers to the implants settling into their pockets as the skin & muscle stretches to accomodate them, making them look fuller & lower. Wide & flat is normal at this point. I didn't have any bruising.

I had my initial exchange 9/23 & that side is noticeably fuller then the recently-replaced rads side.

Thanks DLL.  I am almost thinking that the pain and bruising I am feeling is probably what someone getting a boob job experiences.  I am still hurting tonight.  Thinking of giving up the percacet though because of the side effects that go along with it.

Chick: Take your colace twice a day! And drink a lot of water. (Pain meds are *very* constipating.)

Does your chest feel better then when you had the TEs? Does it feel any more natural? I am always aware of these TEs (or should I say *this* TE, since I am down one) and am hoping after exchange the sensation feels a bit more natural. Or will they always feel foreign?

I have been taking the colace, even asked him for a refil so I was prepared :)  And have been downing the water too.

So they do feel much more natural.  They even jiggle walking down stairs or riding in a carWink  I think he just did so much pocket work on me and that is the pain I am feeling.  I feel like a wimp, I really expected to not be in this much pain.  And it is just that, pain, not the same type of discomfort that TE's leave you with.

To top it all off (warning TMI) I think my monthly friend is going to start visiting me again.  So either stopping the tamoxifen triggered it OR I finally am getting all the chemo out of my system and the tamoxifen was never going to stop it.  The MO actually seemed a little surprised it hadn't come back yet.  Oh joys!

Chick- my exchange was 10/27 so it will be 3 weeks on Thursday. Everything is healing well but I do not have much stamina yet. I had a really rough time with the TE's and did not sleep at all for months so I think it is all catching up with me now. My left shoulder is frozen and the PS said no PT till I go back next week. So I am just taking it easy and letting this body heal a bit. Hope the colace kicks in and you get relief soon!

Renn- They feel much better than the TE's-no comparison at all!

Chickadee, I've not taken my pain meds, either (exchange was Friday), they make me sick.   It is only day 4 and I feel SO much better and am so much more mobile.   I was driving by Monday.    I have no "jiggling".   I hope after they D&F that I will get some jiggles.
