Cindy, fingers and toes crossed for your hubby too. Thanks for your supportive comments on the job search.I hope your LE improves.I still have problems sleeping on that side sometimes.

I found out today I apparently missed my appointment with my MO in December.Oops how did that happen? Well since my MO wanted me to call and let her know what the eye Dr says I finally did today.I get to see her next Thursday. That will give them time to order blood work.I haven't had any labs done since May 2013.

Well, I haven't posted here in a VERY LONG time but I have been reading and praying for you all.

Cindy, I am dealing with trunkle LE also. My arm is not majorly affected, just achy and tender on the upper inside. I have been very pleased with my therapist and her ability to teach me what to do at home to keep the swelling and pain under control. I have come to the place where this is just a part of my life. I do my massage EVERY day and am very careful about lifting and such. I wear my compression bra when I know I am going to exercise or do yard work or with flare ups. It is annoying to say the least that I know it will never go away, but I am blessed to be cancer free and so I try to concentrate on this.

My latest issue is that my breasts are SO COLD! It seems that my implants just don't warm up easily.  Oh well...if that is all I have to complain about, I must be doing quite well.

I pray all is well for each of you today, especially those who are continuing to deal with major health issues. Please know that I am "in your pockets" at all times.

    Love to you all,

    Vickie

PS  We are expecting our 14th grand baby this fall!!!

Hi lovely ladies. Sorry it's been awhile.

Turns out antibiotics did nothing to help me. I went back to my RO and he was bewildered. He sent me back to my BS yesterday and he looked perplexed too. He did an ultrasound (hurt so bad), but it showed nothing. Yay!   He is ordering a dye MRI to get more answers. Here we go again.....:(

    Thanks  for listening.  Love ya!

    Laurie

    XOXOXOXOXO

No fun Laurie!  Did the ultrasound hurt because your infected breast is that tender???  That paints a picture.  I hope the MRI gives you some answers, something easily fixed too.

Vickie, that is so exciting about your new grandchild!  Not so exciting about your cold implants.  Isn't there a way they could warm those up?  Little immersion heaters or something?  So good that you are so smart about massage and taking good care of yourself.

I finally broke down and got compression hose, but wearing it hurts. Maybe it is more uncomfortable because of my constipation problems too.

Cindy I am praying for good news. Hope to hear from you soon

Isn't your tummy feeling better yet, Kate? Maybe a ring-a-ding to the GI for finetuning that med?

Compression hose is so stylish (and probably carefully hidden under at least one of those long gowns at the GG).

    Hi ladies,

Too much to catch up on but hoping that you find some relief Kate...so sorry about the constipation. Nothing more painful! Hugs!

Cindy, praying for you for your hubby and your LE issues. I did not have nodes done, so not worried about that thank goodness but I was told anyone who had rads is still at risk? Not sure that was accurate.

I have to run as usual, but wanted to pop in and say hello and tell you how great you all are! xoxoxo

Hi April good to hear from you.

Brookside, no my tummy isn't feeling better. I just was at the GI specialist, Monday.. She told me to take a double dose of Miralax, but I haven' had a BM for 2 days. I emailed her a couple of hours ago, to ask her what I should do.

Kate, make sure you drink lots of water.I think the Miralax sucks all the liquids out of you and sends it to the colon.I heard that at least.Don't Quote me on that.

    Hi all

Kate- hang in there- that compression hose seems to do just that compress and tightly.  If its too uncomfortable can you do leggings as sort of compression light? Of course in the heat wave you are having that is probably not practical  Coming to the OC this weekend hoping the weather holds it was 70 in the Bay Area today - very nice yet disconcerting.

Laurie I hope the MRI gives answers to whats happening in the soft tissue in there-keep us posted.

Cindy- sure hope you are okay and know you will pop in like a whirlwind when you can

    Thanks y'all!

    Fingers&toes & prayers :)  you guys rock :D

We cruised in early and arrived on schedule...visit went well. Hubby's cystoscope went well. Dr felt blockage was not urgent and may delay until June (more finger&toes crossed please) when my MRI is scheduled. Of course hubby will fly back if it becomes urgent.  It was my first time to watch on the monitor ...very cool.  It was a big relief to not face another surgery...dr did work the scope to move the ridge a bit...hubby was grimacing...anazing our bodies.

Hubby surprised me on way home...he's been pushing for a motorhome and I've been saying road trip with suv or our truck & get a trailer. Made a few stops and then cruised home in loaded hybrid suv...will ship to TX..already have airline tickets.  Surprised...but I didn't think we were diesel pusher people ...trailer or tent camping along the coast...I can do.  Road trip with planned condo stops I can do...Disneyworld & Fenway park game here we come!

Going to ask my BS about trunk LE and tender breast...fluid just fills the area between incisions and left side.  Only 7 mos out from rads so not sure if normal but oh so tender.  I want to sleep on my side and tummy!

Kate thanks for sharing the warrior coat!  Hope you are getting some relief.  Maybe in late June or July us California girls ( wish they all could be california girls)  can meet up!

Laurie - ugh so sorry...sending good thoughts.

Happy Dancing ! We have seen...cardiologist, dermatogist, ear nose threat, infectious disease, 2 urologist, 2 surgeons, MO, RO, BS, mammos, MRIs, echos, cycts cut out, infusions, PT, cystoscope, and assorted lab work...we are done!  Hubby relived no hernia surgery no bladder surgery :). Ready to play!  Just need to digest the suv manual...at least they downloaded my contacts...next program garage remote ha ha!

    (((Hugs)))

Hi all, I wasn't able to post for 2 evenings...laptop just froze,
I am off from teaching - my first class is in 12 days.  But I do have another job at the college so have been in shorter hours since Jan. 2.
Kate, glad for your news but sad for your discomfort.  I hope you find relief soon and that your surgery will get a green light.  I saw you sparklin' on the runway...
I have been on other threads where we talk live during American Idol and Voice. Has anyone done a chat room? I have done on other sites and it goes so fast.
Cindy, I hope you and DH have good news at the med center.  You deserve a break...and safe travels.
I hope the LE doesn't rear its ugliness after the PT is done.
April, don't stay away so long!

DH is under the weather and it is not likely we will get to DD#1 any time soon.
Hope everyone's keeping warm...I saw a robin on my campus today.

You and hubby have really been through the wringer, Cindy.  So gerat that the line has shut down and you and your shiny nw SUV can drive off into the sunset (sunrise?) and f'get about it all.  I guess the next stop (after you manage to tech yourselves into the garage) is an awesome trailer?  And then a roadtrip to see us all? (Yippee!)  I just wish that lousy lymphedema would leave you alone.

Joan, I tried the chatroom when I first found this discussion board.  So many people were talking at once, and I was brand new, then found this thread (and a couple of others), and that was just it.  So, are there different rooms (American Idol specific, or Radiation Recovery specific, for instance), or is it still a free for all?

Wyo, Cindy, and Joan thanks for the support.

WyoI will try to endure the support stocking a little more each day.  Yesterday I wore it for 4 hours. Today I will try 5 hours. Today it is going to be 80 in Santa Monica as it was yesterday.

Cindy I am so glad hubby doesn't need surgery. I am sorry you are having breast problems. So glad you bought a new SUV. If you don't mind me asking did hubby's bladder tumor grow back? Is that why they were considering surgery?I sure hope not. Sorry to be so nosey, but since I have bladder cancer I like to know what to expect.

Two weeks from today they are taking out my ugly bladder tumor out. I have a pre-op appointment Friday. I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 21st, and an appointment with doc on the 24th. Doc prescribed Bentyl for my abdominal cramps and they are working YEAH The rash on my back is gone YEAH. I still have the palm rash, but it doesn't itch so I am ok with that

Kate, things are looking up a bit!  I gather you're still blocked, but if the cramps can be controlled, you must feel so much better.  I'm delighted that the itchy rash on your back is gone and your palm rash isn't itchy!  It is great that you're on the path to this surgery at last.  You have been SO patient and powerful.

And we need to start choosing your date and gown for the Oscars!

Cindy, wonderful news that your husband's not as blocked as it seemed, and how exciting about the new SUV and some cool plans!  Better than an RV in my book too.

Oh Kate, that's good news for you.  I am thinking positively for everything and everyone involved.  I am glad the cramps are diminishing and the rash is gone.  Rest up, pamper yourself and set up a plan for recovery...

Brookside, I agree -- chat rooms are a free for all and everyone is typing short messages that arrive one after the other.
The American Idol thread is a regular thread where participants post (I can find the link for new season if anyone wants it).   It's open to anyone but it takes awhile to gather a following.  It takes longer to type than to read so if we are on line at the same time, it is easy to keep up.  That would be good if we wanted to add the Oscars thread and post "live".
Are the awards shows live in all time zones?  I hope so.

Kate - good news:) counting down til that t is out of there!  We will be bedazzling the princess warrior coat and getting ready for a major girlie pocket party!  Gosh, it will take us 2 weeks to get all glammed  up...hair, medi, pedi, makeup, chic couture, and sparkle accessories oooo who will be red pocket ready:)

Hubby's neo bladder is interesting. It's made from a piece of intestinal tract.  The opening to the urethea keeps building excess scar tissue...and blocking the opening.  Dr hopes it will settle down, but this seems to be an every 5-8 mo issue.  MRI shows no tumors:) cancer gone!  It's just his body ...keloid issue...so now the thought is to not cut, but use ballon to stretch the neck opening amazing.

You will do well...a TURB right? Or a bladder reduction? Fingers&toes crossed...right Josie, and y'all's !

Runfree, Joan and Cindy thanks for the support

Runfree, I want Bradley Cooper for my date. I don't think George Clooney will be there. As for my gown a design by Armani or Caroline Herrera, preferably in Teal or maybe mint green.

Joan, pampering myself before surgery and after surgery is a great idea. Saturday I will go shopping for pre-op, Then when they take off the catheter sometime after surgery I am going to buy something else too for post- op.

Cindy two weeks of doing girlie-girlie stuff sounds great.. Next week I am getting a man-pedi. Two days berore my surgery I am getting my hair colored and cut. My own hair still looks too thin ( thank God I am noticing it is growing back) so I will wear a fall. I am going to ask the surgeon if it's ok to wear a wig to surgery. I have a full hair wig besides the fall.

Cindy, I am not having a Turbt. I am having a partial cysectomy. My tumor is high up, so I don't need a radical cysectomy. A partial cysectomy removes the tumor, and part of my bladder. I will still be abkle to pee the normal way. Thank God I won't meed a neo bladder or an ideal conduit or any type of bag at all.. I am so glad your hubby is cancert free. Enjoy your new SUV

Joan, hope your hubby gets well soon.Did you maybe share your cold?

    Glad your computer is behaving.

Cindy glad to hear no surgery for your hubby.Sounds like you treated yourselves to a new vehicle on the way home.Must be nice.I'm jealous.Good for you.

Kate, glad you have surgery soon.I'm sure it will be a relief to have it over with.I hope that Miralax is working for you.

Joan had the right idea.Rest up and pamper yourself Kate.

I had a surprise lunch guest today. My eldest daughter Sarah. She and I had a nice visit. She lives with her boyfriend. They are talking about moving out of his parents basement and renting a house from his family. They have several rental properties. And the best thing would be they won't let her take her ferret. She will have to sell it.I am a animal lover but they just stink. She agreed they won't miss the smell. And she wants to take her kitty that she left here when she moved out.Only problem is the kitty is very attached to the dog and even has been caught giving her a deep massage which puts the dog to sleep.

Hi ladies.  At last I am caught up with reading past posts and I have a good idea about what is going on with everyone.  Kate, glad to hear you are doing okay and that you don't have any blockage.  If you want to try natural things, prunes and raisins work like a charm for my family members.  It helped my dad too when he was having trouble.  I have been busy settling his estate.  I am finally finished with that, and now I am working on the move to Florida.  Cindy good for you on the SUV.  If you head to DisneyWorld I am going to have a place within two miles of there.  We should definitely get together.  You are due for some fun and so are we!!  Glad your DH doesn't have to have any more surgery.  My husband had a green light laser treatment for prostate a couple of years ago.  It has been a great cure for him.  He didn't have cancer, but a huge prostate.  I drop my car off tomorrow to be shipped south, and we fly out on Saturday.  I love the chat about the Golden Globes and the Oscars.  My ex-daughter in law won an oscar for a screenplay she wrote a few years ago.  My son was married to her at the time, but she went all Hollywood and they divorced.  He is happily re-married and just had the most adorable baby boy.  I finally got to hold my newest little grandson on Sunday.  It has been a few months of ups and downs.  I can't wait to get into some sun and warmth.  Bunkie, you need to get back to your happy place, somewhere out west.  I will be keeping up a little better from here on out.  I am getting my to-do list caught up at last.  Welcome to the new ladies here, and glad you are nearing the end of your treatment.  Healing seems endless, but eventually things get lots better.  Glad to catch up,  GiGi

    Hi all

I am not savvy on the award shows but it was all the talk on BART today so I better educate myself haha.

Kate- as a long-time surgery nurse I have a thought on the wig for surgery- even if they say yes I would reconsider.  Couple of reasons, as you probably recall they put that nice paper hat on and cover all your hair up before you wheel in.  Once you are asleep there is a lot of moving and positioning and I would hate to think of the wig sort of moving around under that paper hat.  When you wake up and they take that hat off in the recovery room you might have a wig malfunction.

    just my 2 cents.

I would also add that hair (your own) or a wig is known to harbor bacteria so no sense adding anything "extra" to the mix

Wyo ok, curiosity has finally gotten the better of me.....where are you in the Bay Area?  I was raised in Oakland, went to Cal, raised my kids out in Danville and now live in Sebastopol.  Oh, and I worked for a number of years in Richmond, then Antioch then many years in SF ..... If you're on Bart, you may well be on the east bay side.....

Gigil, glad you're getting estate things taken care of.  I've just spent 4 months trying to get moms house and antiques that she did not take with her to assisted living settled and know it can be quite difficult.  I'm glad you're getting to head out for Florida.  A well earned rest.

Kate, it would appear you've got things well in hand, but I must add I second Wyo's comments about wearing your wig in to surgery.  Just remove it when they come to take you down to surgery, then you can pop it back on in pristine condition once you're awake.  Now the princess coat though, I do think you need to wear that!  And anyway we're going to need all the large pocket space.  But....I must let you know that we can't see your hair from in the pockets, so no worry there.

Josie, such a funny mental picture of the dog and cat...makes sense though.  Maybe DD will get a dog too.  And you can get a cat.  Oh, this is getting too complicated!  I wish your daughter well with her plans.  It is nice that you had the visit.  they seem to get further and further apart as they get older.

DH is still sick and it looks like our holiday visit to DC will not happen on the long week end.  I had a head cold thing for 2 days and it all went away.  I have chronic sinus issues though.  this afternoon I started to feel impatient, restless, cold, and tingly.  I hope it is not a bug sneaking in.  I have made drug changes and any of those symptoms could be from the drug.  I have some tingling in my leg, twitching almost, and the bottoms of my feet feel tingly.  Not painful.  I tried to figure it out but gave up...cannot relax arms, legs, it's so weird.  I want to take something to relax but I feel I have enough drugs in my system already.

Gigi, so good to hear from you...how long will you be in FL?  Good choice!  I hope your time away gives you time to remember lots of happy family memories.  Of course, you'll be here from there...

wyo, it sounds like your advice comes from lots of experience.  Now really, does anyone ever get out of surgery looking good?

hi Joan, if you're still up, try 1 aspirin or Tylenol or Ibuprofen on your way to bed.  For me, that will calm the restless legs and lessen in the burning in the soles of my feet  and lower legs.  Hope it helps you.
