    Hi everyone!

Steph, I think it is awesome you are going to be a foster parent.  Those poor sweet kids need someone gentle and loving to guide them.  So many have been through so much.  You will be a wonderful foster.  You have a big heart....it shines.

Irw.....I am sorry you are now having liver problems.  Hopefully they can get it figured out quickly and easily.  I know it must be a real disappointment but hang in there.  Sending healing hugs to you.

Elizabeth...the volunteer work you do is wonderful.  Adding Make a Wish to your busy schedule is so special.  I plan to volunteer somewhwhere.  I am thinking "Angel Care".  They help newly diagnosed BC women navigate through the process.  Moral support, driving to appointments or just going for support, etc.  I have to look into the program and find out when and where they do training.  Oh, and of course a HUGE congratulations to you for having that port removed.  I bet that felt great.  One thing you no longer need.  You are free from it now!  Hurray.

I seem to have picked up a little flu bug so that is not fun.  Lots of vomiting last night, diarrhea today.  The worst part is the muscle aches, which oddly are only bothering my upper torso.  My upper ribs in the back are so sore.  I hung some laundry out earlier and just reaching to pin the clohes up hurt my arms and shoulders.  It seems so very strange to me.  My legs are fine!

Have a great day ladies.  You are all special!

Hi all, missed a few days and you have really got me trying to catch up!
Janis, are you kidding?  On top of everything else.....you have to get the bug??
lrw - you are right - there is always something....it never ends.  I hope that soon you will resolve the liver issue and have peace and rest.  I remember being so happy when my gall bladder came out; sometimes I forget I don't have it and gotta be careful not to overload with fats...harder to digest.
Elizabeth, MostlySew...and others....I agree - it is not exactly a celebration when we finish our treatments and then are left with uncertainty.  My med center staggers the appointments between the RO and MO so that I'm seen every 3 months.  That's kind of good, I guess.  I assume my next mammo will be in July.  Meanwhile, I think the A.I. (Femara now) is really dulling my brain and giving me more sad days than good days.   It's a struggle to get through the work week, and on the week ends I just want to stay home and do nothing.
Kate - glad you are feeling better.  What a long recovery for you.  Well, those of us who are east and central will have to refrain from spoiling the Bachelor ending for you before it airs in the west.
I am not sure, but I don't know if during the tell all show that the bachelor said he was very happy....was thinking that maybe he didn't make any firm decisions. He's a little suspect in my opinion, looking for that trophy wife to adorn his vinyard business. I have to remind myself that isn't the real world.....
    Gotta sleep....
Thanks for the empathy and understanding that is offered here.
Hugs to everyone....it's almost the week end!

Joan....I feel much better today, thanks!  Fortunately it was just a 24 hour bug.

I am really sorry you are having a difficult time.  I totally understand.  Your life is hectic with working through all these treatments.  Your diagnosis was just a couple of weeks after mine.  I still struggle with a large range of emotions.  I really wonder why I have such a short attention span lately.  Breast cancer and treatments take a staggering toll on the body and the mind.  One day at a time Joan.  You are so sweet, and always supportive of everyone else.  I am glad you are able to share your feelings here.  That is why we are all here....to support one another.  I hope each passing day you feel better, stronger.  Just remember you always have a cheering squad.  This forum has certainly helped me through some very tough times.  Big, warm healing hugs dear lady!

I hope everyone has a great day today.  Love to all of you!

Thank you Joan. It seems like the tabloids already know the bachelor finale. There are pictures surfacing on them, and the net of Ben proposing to Courtney. According to one tabloid he chose Courtney, and is already cheating on her. Am I missing something? I don't think he is that cute for women to go gaga over him.

    Joan,

Sorry you're feeling fuzzy minded and a bit sad. I do think it's some sort of reaction to all we've been thru and also the arimidex, in my case. I can relate to both those things, and I think I'm just a few weeks ahead of you...or maybe behind, I can't tell. Things I always could remember, like what I'm doing from day to day or something I'm supposed to be doing, I now seem to forget. It's sort of shocking, to say the least. At times I still hit the wall with tiredness, but I must say, I bounce back sooner, and higher, so I think that's great. Hopefully spring will be coming along soon and we can all get some sun and feel renewed. For the rest, I've heard that it can take up to a year or longer to overcome all this, so I figure we're all doing quite well......

Irw, sending healing hugs your way to help deal with this liver issue.

Janis, glad your bug was only 24 hours and you're doing better..

Ptdreamers, I still don't have any SE's from the Prolia shot, so don't expect any now. I am attempting to stay well hydrated as the nurse suggested, and maybe that helps.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

mostlysew, I'm thinking that my aches are from the weather and old age, not the Prolia shot.

I feel so good reading your lovely supportive notes.  I had my 6 month check - not sure if I posted - with the BS (on my wedding anniversary) and she was so positive and wouldn't let me dwell on the what -if - it comes back stuff....she said you will see, you are going to be fine.  She recorded NED on my chart.  It made me smile.  I forgot my foggy brain and pains for a little while....then I had a good week end with DD and family - 2 darling GrDs....4 and 1....we took them to the St. Pats parade and had such a good time.  Life is good.
thanks again for all the support...I really feel the love!  And I send my best thoughts and hugs to all of you.
Kate - can't wait to get home and watch -- I really have no idea.....but wouldn't be surprised if it went as you say....what about Reality Steve?  I think he was wrong recently.....ahhh the fun distractions in life....
    More later....

Kate, reality steve is a guy who has been correctly predicting winners for years....except recently.
I won't spoil anything for you but the show and after show are not disappointing.
    Enjoy!

Joan, I am so glad you are doing well.  Congratulations on your great check up and on your wedding anniversary.  NED is one boyfriend my husband does not mind me having.  In fact, he hopes NED will be in my life forever.  We are always here for you on both the good days and the bad days.

Joan I was very disappointed. We were duped when Chris said the most controversial ending EVER? We knew he would pick Courtney, and the tabloids hinted about problems. The fact that they are back together is not really controversial. I predict that they will break up some time this year.

Joan, I am so happy your appointments went so well and that you are finding yourself feeling much better.  That is great news.  Your weekend with family sounds so much fun!

My DH's son surprised us with a visit this weekend.  Russ is 38, divorced, amd brilliant and funny.  I really love him.  He drove here from Seattle and just showed up Friday morning.  We had a great time.  he took us out to dinner Friday night, which is such a treat for us.  In turn I cooked my heart out for him Saturday.  I made blueberry pancakes from scratch, plus bacon and eggs.  For dinner since it was so nice we grilled.  I marnianted chicken all day in a teriyaki marinade, and bratwurst in beer.  We had fresh broccoli, grilled squash, the two meats, and garlic bread.  Sure was good.  I love cooking for the kids...no matter what age!

My other child, Sampson (Golden Retriever) has been sick and it just makes me so sad.  Like having a sick child!  He started vomiting Sunday and refused any food.  The good thing is he was drinking water but looked so bad.  I called the vet yesterday morning and we went over everything he could have gotten into.  He did have a very teeny amount of Russ's leftover prime rib DFriday night.  Both he and Murphy did, I cut all the fat off.  I don't know.  Last night he did eat a tiny amount of cooked rice, chicken broth and plain nonfat yogurt.  The vet said it is likely something he ate and really not to worry for 48 hours.  I worried all day yesterday and so did Chuck.  If he eats today I will feel a lot better.  He has not vomited since early yesterday morning so that is good as well.  Kids!

It seems quiet here.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Take care everyone.

Janis, I spent the last year with a dog who could not eat table scraps.  She would get pancreatitis in a heartbeat.  We had to put her down a few months ago.  The one thing that worked along with the chicken and cooked rice is canned pumpkin.  Be sure not to use pie filling, because it has spice in it.  The canned pumpkin though is so helpful, and my dog loved it.  I used about a tablespoon each feeding.  Hope your Sampson is doing better.

Kate, I was disappointed with The Bachelor ending as well.  I agree with you, that couple will not stay together for long.  Why do they always choose the wrong person??  It never fails.  The men choose wrong more than the women do.

My husband has been home for a few weeks taking vacation time.  He has had some health problems.  One is Atrial fibrillation which is a heart rhythm problem.  The doctor said it is not life threatening, but it is not normal and will probably require an ablation procedure sometime in the near future.  It would be so nice not to have to always be thinking about health problems.  Getting older sucks!!

Hi GiGiL and Janis.  My dog (the one in my profile pic) has pancreatitis as well.  We give him 20mg of famotadine (Pepcid I think) every morning about half hour before his breakfast and it really helps!  Aren't we suckers for our dogs?

GiGiL, I am glad that your husband is home, but I am sorry about his health problems.  Anything involving the heart is scary.  I hope he will be fine.  You are correct about aging being difficult.  My Dad used to say, "Old age is not for sissies."

Gigil, I am sorry that your hubby is having health problems. The only thing good about getting old is spoiling grandkids. Courtney and Ben are a joke. He chose arm candy and there was no warmth or closeness about them.

    Janis,

Wow, your visit with Russ sounds so great.  I have a soulmate son who lights up the house when he comes home - smart & funny, always interesting conversation and lots of laughs.  Your cooking details made me hungry (for the first time in 2 days because I have been really slammed with an achey feverish flu-type thing).
II left work sick yesterday and spent all day and today lying around....have to go to work tomorrow and am not ready.  Don't want to eat anything....aches are gone  but am so tired.
Kate, I was not suprised at the end of the show...his body language with Lindz was awkward and like he couldn't wait to get away.  I loved the fact that they had some rocky times...imagine learning the truth about somebody that way....she said that every guy has left her so......
Gigi, I totally agree - the girls seem to pick the better person and work on it...the guys seem to get blown away by whatever trashy girl makes them feel the best for the moment.
That said, I don't consider it the real world at all.
I hope everyone is doing OK today....sometimes this recovery is tough.
    Nite all,

    Joan

Joan. I hope work went okay for you. Drink lots of water and rest as much as you can. Sometimes all we can do is lie back, rest and regroup. This kind of thing can hang around for 5 to 7 days.

Thanks again for kind well wishes....got to work at 8AM and realized I wasn't better...couldn't eat, but I made it through to 9 PM.  Feel great now.  I can go in late tomorrow morning and it's an easy day.
One good thing - I don't feel quite so bad from Femara this week.  I have spread out when I take meds and switched around times of day...that could be helping.
Kate, hope you are feeling well!
Wishing good thoughts for everyone still having issues with recovery and BC in general ... and puppy dogs and the issues of the day....glad we can share.

    Hi everyone!

My dogs get pumpkin fairly frequently.  I always stock up on it around the holidays when it is on sale.  They have never had any fatty meat so this was a surprise.  They eat grain free kibble with green beans every night. I warm up frozen ones, so no salt.  We are so careful about what they eat.  The odd thing is that Murphy vomited the day before......but once he got rid of it he was fine.  Sampson lingered and was down really only over 24 hours, but it scared us.  He has been perfectly happy since he got to eat his normal food again.  Thanks to all for the well wishes!

I went to my LE therapist Wednesday and I have to go get fitted for an LE sleeve with a different specialist Tuesday.  I may wear a standard size, so might just walk out with it.  We'll wait and see.  I don't have it in my hand so just the sleeve.  Mine is more breast, chest, truck, upper arm area.

I have been having some bad headaches but had had headaches all my life, so not worried.  I expect it is likely from the Arimidex.  I had a few episodes in the past month or so of nausea and vomiting which is new.  Again, I think the Arimidex is the likely culprit.  I went to see my oncologist yesterday and his nurse who I love, Esther.  She did not seem happy with my symptoms at all.  After the doctor review my chart, he ordered an MRI of my brain.  So, having that done today.  I am not at all worried they will find anything wrong.  I just am getting weary of so many different appointments and medical issues!  I know in time this will pass.  Soon would be great.

My sister Susan is coming tomorrow from Colorado.  I am so excited.  She is an RN who works in a large hospital on the oncology floor.  She knows a lot about cancer to say the least.  She has followed my care from day one.  I just want her to come and relax for the five days she is here.  She works wicked long hours lately due to a recent promotion.  Time for her to relax!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.  I am cooking corned beef and cabbage tomorrow.  Anyone else?

Elizabeth- I had a lumpectomy yesterday and I know at least one of the nodes (she took 4) was positive. I see that you had a positive node and was wondering if you had to have chemo. I am so bummed out today.

Dianarose I am so sorry that you had a positive node, but don't read anything into it. Just because 1 person had chemo with a positive node it doesn't necessarily mean that you will have to get it. There are other factors taken into consideration. I will say a prayer for you. Please keep a positive attitude. I am sending prayers, good vibes and hugs your way. Joan, thank God I am feeling well, and it is a blessing. Thank you for asking. Janis, I hope you feel better, and have fun with your sister.
