Study Looks at How Many Women Die From Breast Cancer After a DCIS Diagnosis

A study looked at how many women ultimately die from breast cancer after DCIS, as well as any factors that influenced breast cancer mortality. About 20 years after a DCIS diagnosis, about 3% of women would die from breast cancer. Treatment Decision Making and Genetic Testing for Breast Cancer

Q: Should all of us who have had breast cancer have genetic testing to see if we need to have prophylactic mastectomy.
A: No, we could end up being more confused. If low risk for 'genetic' breast cancer we may be better off living in ignorance of our genetic status.

On the wasp research: "The researchers tested their theory by creating model membranes". This hasn't been tested in humans. I think it's speculative and offers no significant hope for people with cancer already. Maybe for our grandchildren!
