I know you were looking for a schedule for the Olympics Midnight here is one - just select the date at the top of the list and then it shows who is participating and when. Hope this helps!

I did not mean any offence re my previous Australian remark I was just surprised by the article.

No offence would have been taken I'm sure Hils :-) The Australian media ARE very p'd off that NZ Is doing better than Aus and the Sydney Morning Herald DID have an article this morning that ended with them saying it should be Team Oceania...

Hills, i would not worry about that, i am sure nobody would take offense, its all hyped up by media. we are all proud of each other. . i think they should leave the countries to their own, so Ausy can be proud of what they acheive and us the same. thanks for that schedule too hills. much appreciated. take care.. i think we come to together as a world united to gain for our country as everybody does for theirs.  i bet those atheles hve jo;;y good mates all over the world they meet thru these accasions.

    Evening...

Hope you all had a good weekend. We did well sporting-wise :)

The seventies party was fun, great to see everyone made an effort-  costumes ranged from Abba to punk etc.

The sun peeked out today, even managed a walk on the beach with a friend! It would be nice to see the ground dry out a bit, I'm really sick of mud everywhere.

I bet the poor animals are too. I always feel sorry for the new lambs.

Take care & have a good night

Hey Ladies. Hi. Been busy with one thing or another, like still sorting out stuff stuff and more stuff from getting Mums house cleaned up. I have enjoyed some of the Olympics just here and there but I was brassed off to have missed that dressage. Never mind, but I dont have sky, Im at the mercy of freeview Im afraid. Not sure whether the dressage was showed on that instead of freeview. I looked on TV1 excellent exhaustive(???) schedule and I see theres still some individual dressage to come.

I really enjoy the gymnastics floor  routines and Ive hardly seen anything at all on that. 1.a.m in the morning grrrrr.

Anyone smell sulphur? Midnight? WOW, last night I opened the back door and poooooh. It was stronger than when Ruapehu blew about a couple of decades ago.  That said, we're not that far as the crow flies.

Hope you are all keeping well.

Hi Girls. A wee bit of excitement for the central plateau during the week! Glad it wasn't too bad.

Hope you are all well. Are you getting there with your mums stuff Musical, or still some way to go? Its amazing what you collect over the years, so I imagine its a huge job.

I hope you're still comfortable & not in pain Alyson. How's the recovery going Rainenz? & midnight, no more dizziness I hope.

I have my dreaded Reclast infusion tomorrow, so I need to start taking the anti-nausea meds now. Wish me luck! Its got to be better than last time anyway :)

Have a good weekend (not far away now).

Hello Girls.  hope everybody doing ok and well as could be expected. hope your procedure goes well KT tomorrow.  What is that you having Reclast infusion, sounds pretty horrid.

Tomorrow is my one year aniversary of my DX and i am still here, so hope next year will go without a hitch. It is my Birthday at the end of month and we will go and celebrate then the two accasions. Last year  i wanted to go to Wellington Zoo ,but BC interupted that as i  was having surgery on ywo days and then i was not in the mood for it. and i am not this year either now blow it.  Alot  has happenend in last year which would not be wise to talk about on here, but been extremely stressful. mainly in line with the  bussiness and dodgy accountants. i will leave it there. have a good day folks.

LOL kt excitement indeed.... phew if it aint earthquakes then its volcanic activity. I did hear on the news there were a number of folk complaining about the sulfur smell. It sure was strong. Weird. Didnt smell it in the a.m. though.

We've just about got to the backend of all the sorting  kt  but in some cases its just been shifting it else where to go through. Arrrrgh. LOL youre NOT wrong about how much you collect. I HATE stuff climbing in on me. Im totally allergic to clutter. Yell It drives me around the twist.  Oh well, at least we can do it at our leisure.

My Mums Sister (91yrs) passed away on Monday night and its been really difficult because she really wants to go, but its waaay too far. It would flatten her and its been difficult enough as it is, getting her settled.  I think she's accepting it now.

I'm not sure what Reclast is. Obviously you saying infusion means its a brew of Chemo??? . Oh I hope you are OK with it. Whats the anti nausea? I had Ondansetron (SP???)  and real awful for causing constipation.

Well Ive FINALLY wrangled a funded Bone D Scan out of the system. Its taken me 7 odd months, so we'll see what being on the A team has done to my bones.

Hey Midnight!!! Congrats on the anniversary. Zoo's are neat to go to.....well yes when youre in the mood. I hope things go well with your business. The LAST thing you need is a dodgy flippin accountant!

I hope you have a good birthday/anniversary midnight. Good reason to celebrate- make sure you have fun :)

Musical I'm glad you're getting thru it all. Sorry about your aunt, must be hard on your mum.

The reclast infusion isn't that bad really, just last time I had 2 days of nausea & vomiting (as well as bone & abdo pain & a headache- it felt like being on chemo) but I'm prepared this time :)  It is for my bones & to help prevent BC recurrence.

Hope your bone density scan comes out ok Musical -or you may need bisphosphonates too (reclast or zoledronic acid is one- but you can get oral ones).

(the anti-nausea tab is prochlorperazine maleate)

Thanks musical, well put it this way. the barrister lawyer said, to my BIL, you need to get a new accountant and that the basic things not been done. like filing gst returns, just one of the  problems.  he charged hubby and BIL 800 dollars for a 15 minute visit,  we get all the info for him instead of him doing it we were doing the work  and him getting paid   BIL had to take over the GST Crap.  when all the hassel is over we going a hunting for a new accountant that will actually work for us. the bussiness is doing ok, lots of work happening, employ 5 people, and a mechanic and the accountant has never done anything to help. so we going to take lawyers advice and find a new one to actually do the job and trust him with it and not leave the info in a box for a year in the corner of his office and forget it and almost send us down the tube.  Anyway thats what been the problem a whole year of it. we coming out the other side now and the lawyer is pretty good, come to a settlement.   you have the gist of it with out names mentioned.  been very trying. glad you are seeing the  sorting out of mums stuff coming to an end, sorry to her about her sister. it would knock her about abit going. Poor thing. she not been too good herself. hope it all works out.

Sorry I'll have a little rant here.... Once there was something said like this .....the most dispised people out of everyone in the workforce are Lawyers, Cars sharks and  Land agents.  Mmmmmm seems we have another to add to that list. Accountants. Why am I not surprised?

So sorry youre dealing with this nonsense Midnight. Other than Grab Snatch and Take  GST is equivalent to just endless red tape.

Hi Ladies this morning. How are you all? Hils missing you, how are you?  Yes Midnight we can see the white light at the end of the tunnell. I'll prob go and get Ma this avo and shes settling in a bit more and a bit more. She loveds to get those wheels turning under her. LOL a real gypsy. It was REALLY hard, as she soo much wanted to go to sisses funeral but she was good about not being able to go.

Thanks kt for that bit of info. Gosh there is soooo much to learn about all this. I know we can be on very different chemos depending on all sorts of things.

Hope you all have a great weekend...and remember girls to look after those arms... (me too LOL) Smile

I'm back, sorry this week was crazy one of my work colleagues was off with the flu and I had to pick up their shifts. Meant a very busy 45 hours at work - glad that is over, as much as I love my job I also like my time away from the place :)

OK lets see if I can catch up with all your news for the week. Kt hope the infusion went smoothly and you did not suffer with any nausea or vomiting, that is no fun. I get this real bad each time I have an op. Sounds like your party last weekend was a blast.

Sounds like no fun Midnight the probelms you are having with Accountants, hope it all comes good in the end.

Glad to hear that your mum is settling in Musical, sorry to hear about her sister. It is never fair at times especially when so much change is occuring to one person. Hope you have a great trip out this afternoon and the sun stays shining.

Hope Alyson and Raine you are both well.

Hope the shakes and volcanoes settle down and that we all have a great weekend. Stay safe and big hugs to you all. Spring is just a few weeks away YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOl will try again, i pressed the  wrong buton and submitted it with out its been finishing. Musical,  glad things are working out for you.

Hope everybody is ok and KT hope you are ok after your procedure.  when you get right, please expalin what it is you had done, i donot know much about those things, only if you wish to though. apart from  not knowing about it, i like to be able to understand what my freinds are going thru.

Hills its nice to see you back on.  Hope you are ok and keeping well.  missed not seeing you guys on lately, but i know you are all busy.

Its been a BIG week for us as we have  been waiting to see how things were going to span out. We had everything and all the info given in for thursdaY hearing, and then  Lawyers rings  BIL saying that we  have our company til 2 yesterday arvo unless things sorted out, WHAT THE??? and all it was confirmation about a 2nd  mortage over the farm, the bank would not talk to Lawyer till  BIL had given the permission, well he sorted that out and the next norning, he gets another phone call, saying the money wont go thru til they had confirmation that insurances were up to date, well they were, as i had that sorted, Thank God. and then then that was that. we still have not heard whether we have a company, no communication from anybody, TYpical, we are all on edge  waiting for an outcome, BIL rang, but everbody had gone, so it will be monday, boys have to sign something to do with it all. it is very un nerving and i don't need  the stress, as do any of us, both boys suffer high bps and when  they lost their parents a few years ago. bil  was looking after them, he landed in Hospital with bad BP problems and collasped in the paddock, there  two days before  his work cottoned on he had not turn up, hubby lived in nelson then, so was not around, bil was alone more a less. he was pretty punctual to work, the first day i would of been worried as it was outta chararter for him not to turn up, nest day they went looking for him and found him in paddock semi comotosed, BAD. he recovered though, his Blood pressure was thru the roof,  and ALL down to stress.. so hope he is not going to have that BP problem again., with this other stuff been going on,  a year of it.  stress is a killer. so we will find out i guess,  NO NEWS< GOOD NEWS.. so that is it really. i think lawyer would contacted us if company was folding up. we are paying off the money that accountant did not do by failing to do the necessary accountancy stuff,, lol, hubby told him once, if he did his school c accounting like  he was getting ours  done by a qualified accountant, hubby would get an F for FAIL> We are reaping his neglinance.

Midnight what a drama for you. WOW thats the last thing you need. I believe stress is a killer too. I really hope things come good for you and your company doesnt fold! Thats awful. Big hugs.

Yes kt I hope your infusion went well.  I hate nausea (who doesnt???). Im sorry you were sick with this. Id have to say amazingly right through the whole treatment like when I did 4 FEC chemos I was never sick once. I did have a bit of nausea but not bad. I thought it was a general thing that people didnt get sick with chemo these days with all the "wonderful" drugs but obviously thats wrong! I say "wonderful" because for me I had to pay a heavy price, for taking ondansetron.

Hils sorry to hear you get crook with ops! Would that be the anesthetic?  Some people really get adverse reactions to it. Fortunately for me I havent had that problem ...or would it be post op meds for pain?. Again, some of us dont tolerate the opiates well and ouk on that even though they give you anti-emetics.

Spring YES!! I love it when the narcissis (sp?) and jonquils and is it paper whites, come out. I love that smell of spring. We have some yellow single headed ones and they smell gorgeous. Im by no means a green fingers but for some reason, when I got a few of these bulbs, BOY did they multiply!!!! I mustve been doing something right but I dont know what LOL. In the end they just got too much and we buried heaped barrow loads of them. Ha, I remember hubby planted a whole heap of them around the fence line in the paddock and our black sheep ate EVERY last one of the shoots that came up. Not ONE survived.  I thought they were poisonous, well they werent to her.

Got my Mum yesterday and she just loved coming out home. Though very tired she was happy. All week been grappling with whether it was good or not to take Mum on long journey to funeral as she really did want to go, plus the trouble Im getting with aching joints and stuff from Arimidex. In the end she said she just knew it would be too much for her, but I'm still brassed off on my side that I couldnt do that for her too.

I think it was yesterday we smelled a slight hint of that sulphur smell, no where near like it was the other day.  Hopefully Tongariro isnt up to its tricks again.

Hope your weekends are going well ladies. Yesyerday started out nice but today its very overcast and raining down here.

Musical:  your mum woulda loves coming home for awhile with you. every time they get out, its a special time for them. I worked in rest homes in Whangarei from the time i was fifteen to 45 years old. the last resthome, we had our reception afternoon tea  at the hoem with the residents, i had worked there for 12 years and they were ALL MY FRIENDS. they made it into a Valentines theme as it was 10th of Febuary and i had a church ceremony and photos taken at a park and then some at home and then over the road to the home, mum and i lived across road, 5 min walk, very handy, also very handy tio get me in when sickies came up, came abit over the top at times. But i loved the residents and we all got on well.  I had a repor with the eldrly from the age of three. mum  ran after me once as i walking out of a bug department store in Auckland then, holding an old ladies hand and i grew up and worked with them all my working life, married my hubby in 2007 and then down here.  My grand parents lived with us for 10 years pf that time, grandma did mostly, granpa died at 96 and grandma at 98.  and i used to go home and tell her about the oldies at the home, somw of them much younger than her, but she always would say POOR OLD THINGS she was 95 lol.  at that time. I remember when we sat at the table for a sunday lunch after  church one day and we had a tin of salmon and it was over my side and Grandma said, Do i need a rod to get to that fish. lol  and my mum had white socks on day and she kicked her toe and there was a little dot on the end of the big toe of blood and  Grandma, said, here comes the red dot special, lol  she was so witty. and sharp, we played hours of scrabble, her and i.  GOOD DAYS TO REMEMBER. infact today would be her birthday and she would be 110, lol she died in 2000, feb the 20th, her and grandpa were married for 75 years before he went.  very special people.

Have a very happy day girls.

Hi all, I know I posted this on the Aussie site but I am too lazy to retype it all.

Home again after two thought provoking days at a conference. Then had two days in Wellington which is a beautiful city when it's fine. It has steep hills around the harbour. Wandered down part of the way and was delighted to see several native birds, kaka a parrot, kereru the woodpigeon and tuis which are now spreading up into the suburbs from a sanctuary area. Today went out to Pataka the museum and art gallery at Porirua which is quite amazing. So different from the Porirua I knew as a first year teacher some 40 years ago. Had to get a new suitcase to come home, love shopping in Wellington itself!! I know some of you Aussie will know the place. (I went to university there and we lived there for many years.)

Very tired and sore but that's fine as I know it's because I have done far too much. Have given in and am seeing the RA specialist this week but don't want to take any new medication after the last lot.

It was very dark when I got in but the daffodils looked beautiful must take a picture tomorrow.

Hope you have all had a good weekend, I am off to soak in the bath.

    Big hugs

Hi Alyson, glad you enjoyed your trip to Wellington. When my sister lived down there, sometimes we would go for a drive around all the bays on (as you say) a nice day and it was really amazing. What used to catch my breath was how every little space was utilized. Some of the places they put garages made me shudder! Surprised . It is quite scary how high some of those hills are too.

Arent the daffs lovely at this time of the year.  Im trying to think of one of my most favourite little shrubs that has a tiny little brown and yellow flower. (Blaming chemo brain or Arimidex) I cant for the life of me remember its name. It has the most amazing smell Ive EVER smelled ANYWHERE!!  Im told they only last 4 years tops. Ive had 3 plants and one of them I think lasted about that long but the others were 2 years. Theres also other species but the "original" (vulgaris or something) one is the one I mean here.

We have a bath too and I miss using it!!! Since LE Ive been told not to have baths. Cry  Theres nothing nicer than having a good soak. Im envious of you Alyson. Maybe I could have one but have my arm poking up out of the water or something? Great. Now Im picturing some #8 wire approaches to jacking up pullys and stuff. SOmething to hold my arm up outta the water. Lol.

Wow Midnight you sound like you really love the oldies. Thats special. Well I just reread your post and it really touched me! Bless you! Yes my Mum looks forward to her outings and I must say it is really sad to see some of the oldies dont have anyone to come and take them out. Where my Mum is though part of the programme is they have little trips out in a van and I think that is really neat. Loved your little story of the red dot and salmon LOL.

Hi. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Must have been a relief after your busy week at work Hils.

Neat that you get your mum out & about Musical, she must really look forward to that each week.

Hope your business worries will be sorted soon midnight. I'm glad you had a nice time at the conference & Wellington Alyson. I hope the RA isn't giving you too much bother & that you get your meds sorted soon.

My DH is starting a job in Wellington soon, so hopefully I'll make it down there for a weekend soon too...

Well, my weekend turned out better than I had expected. The anti-nausea & pain meds did the trick & I only had a slight headache, sore eyes & bone & joint pain from the infusion (as well as being tired) and only had 1/2 day in bed instead of 2! Hooray!

Thanks for all your well wishes & concern. Smile

Good morning Ladies.  Hope everything is ok with you all.

Alyson: hope you had a good trip in the big smoke, well i think Auckland is probably  bigger. anyway enjoyed yrself and a nice bath, a really good way to end the day.

KT and everybody yes it will be good, but we still have a bussiness, BIL rang Lawyer and asked him this morning, i dont know ins and outs, but we still have a company at this stage, hubby did want to talk about it on phone when big nosey ears were around, when he gets home i will hear more.  lol i think BILmoaned at Lawyer for not letting us know on friday and leaving us to wait and wonder what was going on and it was communication that did not help our cause in the first place from that lot. He said, it is our Bussiness, My sister said, we should make accountant accountable, but personally finding a new one will be just as good and less stress. if he had been poceting the funds, well yes, different story, his is just straight out neglect and failing to meet the standards of what required of him.   we will wait and see,

Musical: the stories about the salmon are just two of the special parts of grandma, she stand up in church at 90 and sing by herself, one was the hymn, God will take  care of you, she and my mum sang that as a duet once.  gran was abit croaky, but she sang her little heart out. GREAT MEMORIES

    Hi all

My theory about baths and LE is the bath wins. Do try to keep my arm out most of the time but find it relaxing which outways any problem and I do have quite bad truncal LE as well as in my arm.

I am off hunting patchwork patterns.

Great to hear that you still have a business Midnight, blimey that must have been awful having to go through all of that stress.

Brilliant to hear that the drugs cocktail pre infusion made it much more bearable Kt, I think there is nothing worse than feeling sick.

Your day out with your Mum sounds great Musical, seems that it is all coming together for her and she is beginning to feel more settled in her new home.

Your trip to Wellington sounds great, we are heading down there next month and I am really looking forward to having a few days away. Especially as there will be a bath where we will be staying. Luckily I have no restrictions and I intend to spend a good amount of time just having a soak and a glass of wine.

Well the sun is shining here, so I intend to make good use of it and get out in the garden and have a walk along one of our local beaches.

Has anyone heard from Raine, I hope she is doing OK.

Big hugs to you all have a great weekend, Spring is just around the corner and I cannot wait.

hello girls, everything all settled with the bussiness, lawyers  have the money to give IRD and we should be home and hosed apart from pay the loan back now. Accountant did not file or pay gst or file significant paye that you pay each month for the employees.  He had all the  bank statements and never did it, but we have it all sussed. The other thing that tomorrow we have a marksman coming to drop a bull that had got into neighbours padddock, Hubby  went to get it out  wednesday and the swine turned on him and hubby went flying 2 meters into mud creek, he is sore from head to toe. esp shouder, the home kill guy went yesterday, but they too scared to go in paddock, so they have hiored a marksman to do  long distance shot of it. he is an ugly brown one and big. we have three bulls in the paddock, they want to do three of them, but bil does mot want the three of them done, no where to put the meat, i suggested he sell the bulls and geth them to arrange their own killing, but you have to own the animal for some time to that,  but the marksman wont do only one at the time,  they can sort it, but that sod needs to be gone., we told neighbour to put his sheep in our paddock as it has plenty of grass seems this swine is eating theirs. the butchers reckon bull meat is not that nice, quite strong, but i mean meat is meat and to a low income family, would be like christmas all over AGAIN, COOKED SLOW is no difference, like ram really, cooked long and slow, its just lovely. so we have had a week of it,  best of all we still are able to provide employment.  i get quite scared of what this stress is doing with my hormones, they active enough, hope it does not start of any more problems with BC. or any other horrible things,.   just glad i still got hubby, could of been end of him this week with dam bull.

Friday already! At least the sun is out now, just need lots more to dry out the sodden land.

Glad the business is ok midnight. The run-in with the bull sounds scary I'm glad your DH is ok too.

Hope everyone else is ok...it has been quiet here by the looks of it. Hope you have enjoyed the sun today too Hils- definitely a good day for a beach walk.

DH & I went for one followed by a platter & a glass of wine at a local vineyard- very civilised. You have to make sure you do special things like that from time to time or life becomes drudgery!

    Enjoy the weekend ;D

Everyone must be like me busy with various projects. Have started making a quilt for DD2 and still trying to get knitting finished for the hospital. Have had the grandchildren  and seem to have several things to go to. On Friday took DD2 and her BFF (one of our extra DDs) to the Breast Cancer Research Trust Trelise Cooper Fashion show. Great evening, lovely clothes just wish I could afford them. Then we went and had Tapas and dessert and talked and talked. It was such fun.

    Hope all is well.

Hi Alyson, its very quiet on here. yes had a busy week and rather fustrating in alot of ways.  Flaming animals, stock, like cows and things, cause alot of issues and so much rain too, place like a mud hole.  had to put all the bunnies indoors, lawn was flooded, anyway i had eye test and they dialated them and things abit blurry, she mentioned to me that tamoxifen can damage the retina, thats why she was looking into my eyes for health reasons too. they can tell aot from what they see in the back of eye, but all seems fine.  Good night, i am bushed.   have a good sleep

Hi Ladies, just checking in. Hope all is well with you all. Yes it has been very wet. Seems like it has most places. Will be nice when it dries out eh? Our place is like a mud hole too. Im hoping I can get in and do my vege garden as that time comes around again soon, as things are different this year with going on Arimidex. Im hoping the activity will back off the aches and pains.

    Have a good day.

Hi Ladies. It has been quiet here :)

Nice to see the sun today, hopefully we will dry out real soon. I really need to get out in the garden. The washing might even get dry on the line.

Sometimes I get so sick of thinking about BC, but its hard not to with a missing boob & SE's from drugs...I think I should stay away from this board to help get over it, but find myself reading each day! Do any of you ever feel like this?

    Oh well...

Hope you all enjoy the nice weather over the next few days Laughing
