Hi Keepingfaith - we are in a similar space re recon. I still have 1 x D cup, which is such a pain. After 2 children it's not that flash either!

    Thanks for the link Hils.

It's cold isn't it? I was just driving home around 8.30. It was pouring and really quite cold. Come on weather!! It's meant to be improving isn't it?

KiwiMum, my PS said that all of TRAM patients that wanted to be back at work quickly were mostly back (desk jobs) after 3 weeks off. The other patient I spoke with said she was back working from home on her computer at the beginning of week 3 and back in her office at the beginning of week 4!

I have taken 3 weeks and 1 day (the Friday of my surgery) off work completely and they know I may then need to work from home for a couple of weeks...

Hi, I had a diep reconstruction in march and it was done at Middlemore hospital by my plastic surgeon who is based at Manukau Super Clnic. He also reduced and lifted the other breast so I could get a better match. It was a 9 hour surgery all up and I was in hospital for 6 days. Recovery was about a month. I am pleased with the results, though they can never replace what I lost, mind you they weren't flash to start with after 4 kids!

Thanks for your post Suzyblue. Who was your surgeon? I've been referred to Zachery Moaveni by my PS. Did he do your surgery? I'm glad you are happy with the result.

My surgeon was Ashwain Chunilal who I have found to be very straight up and easy to talk to. I also believe he genuinely cares about getting the best result possible. I was told at the hospital after surgery by other staff, that he always does wonderful work, so I felt lucky to have been assigned to him through the public system. We do have to have a lot of faith in the people we entrust our bodies to.

Just looking in. It has been busy around here.

DS and his financee arrived home yesterday. They have a lot to do before DS starts work next week. DF is looking for a job but don't think it will take long. She is in charge of house hunting and wedding organisation so actually hope it will be  a few weeks until she starts work.

Saw my onc for checkup yesterday. He did find a small lump on my collarbone which I now have to have investigated but that might take time  as its through the hospital. If I haven't heard by the end of next week will ring my BS and get her to do it.

Must get moving as I said I would pick DD up from the airport, she was singing in Wellington last night.

    Have a great day.

Alyson, here's hoping it's nothing.  Definitely worth checking out though.

SuzyBlue - thanks for the surgeon's name.  I have my next appointment in about 4 weeks as the surgeon is away.

Hey Midnight, how youre doing? Yes it gets annoying sploshing around in the mud all the time. Hope the animals are OK over at your place. These days, boy, when it rains it sure rains. Spoutings overflow and a lot of the drainage systems cant cope. We've had that many times here, this year.

We have had our ups and downs in last two weeks, with bally truck drivers, we have a new one on board today learning thr ropes. he is also an ex farmer and done alot of fencing and farm work, so are employing him to do both, casual truck and farming duties, the fences all need a good over haul. we still probably still need to employ a full timer as  we are not sure on one of the guys we already have, they have found some sort of growth in throat as he has had trouble swallowing for some time, he has to see a wellington specalist. what his prognosis will be, dont know and the other little brat has been causing other issues that had us suspend him from his current run, he is now on Acc,  so who knows,  i put and add on trade me and gotn almost 60 replies, we interviewed six on sat evening, so am keeping options open. there maybe another lot of interviews gonna be happening. Gosh what a month, thought  August was bad enough. never mind thats bussiness for you.  you end up employing people to the runs, they get sick and take time off, you do the work, AND they still get paid for it. BIL in law on one run and hubby doing the other.  so thats my moans and groans.  i am getting bad been a growley old thing, cranky midnight, they drive me nuts though. must go and do some work and feed my dependants, poor little darlings all need a good feed. will have some lunch first and get into it.

Well businesses, and especially small ones, havent got an easy road these days. All the red tape who needs it? Im sorry you keep having this drama with your truck drivers. Call me cynical, but Ive noticed right across the board there seems to be a lack of cohesion and communication between just everyone in general.. My hubby has to face this at his job. Means you have to just put things behind you when you come home or you'd go insane. The organizational skills are such a joke, if you didnt laugh youd cry. I often wonder how such places stay afloat.

lol you got that right.  hubby and i made a rule that when we are together at night, we throw the bussiness to one side and get on with being a married couple, but then BIL will ring him and want to talk about something to do with it all and hubby winds up like a drum AND CAN'T SLEEP. and i have had to tell bil if you are going to ring, keep away from talking shop, because hubby finds it hard to cut off, even the farm stuff,  he gets,  this has to be done, that has to be done, we have not done this job, we have not done that job and that in yr ear when you are tired is hard work.  I told him, if you ring, and talk about work, dont bother. hubby needs to relax and wind down.  i have to be the grumpy sister in law and he gets mad too when i growl.  lol grumpy old BAG i am. i am not nasty, just firm. somebody has to take charge because hubby will not stand up to his brother. my mum said, you will have to take charge and be the strong one, bil is quite domineering and loves control and hubby is quite vunrable. families are hard to stand up to at times, if they are strong in character. i really hope things get better for us soon. excuse my venting. helps me not to go insane.

P/s also we have wondered alot of times lately, it this worth it, shall we just pull the plug, we have paid off all the trucks, we have that dang loan that we had to keep from going under due to certain accountants, so for a year, we need to keep it going. but i think when that is all done and the other house where we are sold, they may decide to call it a day and each of them go out and do other things.

You vent away Midnight.... its not easy. Good on you for standing up to BIL. ...LOL someone has to be strong and theres ways to do it like as  you say being firm and I'm sure youre not a grumpy ol bag.

Hi Midnight, gosh surely there must be heaps of takers! Sometimes you DO have to wonder...jobs losses everywhere so where are all the workers??  What class are you wanting your truck drivers?

We had our 2 hoggets shorn yesterday, and silly clumsy ol me went to hop on the quad and my gumboot sorta got all tangled and I ummm just fellover. Fortunately the ground was soft. Bit of a sore elbow on "good" side, but that soon went. All good. Then I burnt my bad arm doingT last night on a hot potlid. Didnt think too much of it til an hout later it started hurting. Put it under water for a couple of mins, then satcold flannel onit, thenput fucicort antibiot cream on and better today. Red mark less. Really sware by that cream, its saved my butt so many times, but oh dear I do try and be careful.

Went to LE/ PTist  today and she prodded my sore spot up between the shoulders. Had it for 2 weeks or so and cant for the life of me think what Ive done wrong this time. Was going to blame arimidex but LEist reckons its a little tweaked muscle.  Got jobs to do soon in the garden and I dont need this nonsense.

We are looking for class 5 with DG and F endorsments, i had alot of replies and we interviewed some and one didn't like being told what to do, when he was asked to something at the depo, he went HUH and walked off, it was simply rolling up the webbing straps that tie the freight in, while the  other worker was parking the truck up for night. Dont want him now anyway with that attitude, you would think people like a job, maybe the goverment makes life too easy for them now.  its a god start rate, we  have been told by other fims that it is really good  rate. they have to work hard, but not all day, if they have not much freight, some days they can be sitting on there chuffs for about three hours till pick ups have to be done. i wont say what the rate is on here, but its pretty good and we are small family bussiness and would not survive and nobody will have jobs, they get plenty of perks. so i dont know. ????

Feeling very cross and sad today. One friend is now sleeping most of the day - she is in the hospice while another is struggling with her fourth lot of chemo, not dose, but fourth round and is pleased that she hasn't lost her hair this time. Then today another was rushed into hospital because the abscesses on her shoulder began to hemorrhage - this is from mets to her shoulder. I hate this disease so much. And I have a scan tomorrow.

Sorry to be a grump but some days it gets at me.

Had a great day with a friend. We drove through to Gordonton, near Hamilton to look at a quilt shop then went on to Te Aroha to try to find where her grandparents were buried. Successful day for all. I got some fabric and she found what she was looking for. It wasalmost 6pm when I got home but it was a good say. I know that next week I will have to help my friend cut out the bag she got.

    Hope your day was good

Alyson, we're allowed to be grumps, I call it being real. LOL thats what I said to LE ist today.  Yes its good to look at the good side when we can but we need to free to just tell it like it is too. Plainly we have our ups and downs.  Sorry about your friends. Youre right this disease is so darned awful. That poor dear lady with the mets to shoulder. That just upsets my insides when I hear things like that.  Sometimes we can bear up but other times its just great we can support each other in our hard times.

I so hope your scan tomorrow will not show anything horrible tomorrow, and all the best. We will be thinking of you. It was great you had a fulfilling day with all your travels today.

Midnight, hope you will get some decent class 5 drivers. Yeah they are quite a bit harder to obtain than Class2. I know when hubby was looking we saw quite a few ads for class 5. Attitude is a real biggie. I imagine it would be a nightmare dealing with obstinate workers who dont like taking orders. Fact is, we all have to learn to take orders at some time in our life, and the sooner we are gracious about it the better off it is all around. Of course Im not talking about kow towing to control freaks and the like but theres too many people just dont like being reasonably instructed..

How the girls on here. Well last night i spent the night in A&E. i awoke last evening with  this very strange headache, i mean it was bad. it went from the left side from the temple and into my ear and jaw. it radiaited  all over the left side my head and out of ten, it would of between 9.5 and 10. i took four panadol and that did nothing, so hubby took me to A&E so i could see somebody or get soemthing to kill the headache. well i got codine and nurofen and i did not see Doc til 6.40 am this morning, we were there at 1.15am and the seats were not  that  comfortable either. they did a blood test, that was ok, my pain was doen to about a five by the time they saw me, still sore to touch in that area. but ok, i am home, well i got home at 10am. they were suspecting a blood clot, but that turned out negitive. they were wondering if it could of been a s/e from tamoxifen, anyway if that happens again they will do a brain scan. i  will go to GP next time, the wait is too long at A/E that is providing it happens in bussiness and not the dang middle of the night. i am shattered nackered, i am worried about hubby driving  the truck as he was there with  me til loading truck at 5.  he said, he would not sleep at home while i am in there doing that. so he waited and had abit of a snooze. i didnt, i was too scared i  would snore, but i could not relaz enough with my head like that eben with the pills. so it was a night and a half, will have a snooze shortly.    hope everybody ok. take care

Midnight - snap! I've been having really bad headaches too - almost too much to deal with at times. I've seen my GP who thought they were related to the back issues I've been having, but I was also wondering about s/e from Tamoxifen. I've googled that in the past and read something along the lines of it being an uncommon s/e. Hope it's all settled down now for you and you can sleep well tonight. I had to laugh about your end comments as I have waking hubby up with my snoring lately! Lying in my back is most comfortable for me but not helpful in reducing snoring!!! Cath
