i wondered if we were going to get drowned  bunny's this morning, luckily their  sleeping quaters are higher and could get outta the wet. yes i did hear it pelting down, i feel sorry for animals out in these storms, birds, stock, most of ours can get under shelter.  we had a late night. so feeling rather fatigued today. BIL is in a Bitchy mood, his computer is not working properly, so he cant  check Trade me, Didams, mind you so you have to listen to him whine and groan about his sad life, its better if he does get on trade me, if that what keeps him happy. Parsley with tripe and in the sauce is always lovely too Musical. i thought i wonder what cheese sauce would be like with it. but i think the plain white sauce would be nice actually. oh and small boiled  spuds with butter and parsley would go nice with it too. you make me hungry musical, i love food lol

Won't be too long out of bed I think.

Have walked for hours today. If you know Adelaide we visited the Library, the museum and the Art Gallery then walked up to the cathedral and back past the cricket ground. After wandering in Rundel Mall went out to Glenelg where we had a drink, wandered around then walked back a couple of stops to get the tram. Feet are protesting.

Hi Girls! It has been a while....

Looks real quiet here- hope you are all doing well. Midnight, I think you have an MRI coming up, hope it goes well & that everything is ok.

I hope your LE has gone Kiwimum, that's no fun to have. Sounds like you had a good Aussie trip Alyson :)

Just thought I'd update you on the 'lump', turned out to be normal tissue! (funny how it felt hard & different to the rest!)

I'm trying to let the worry of recurrence go, but after the tumour marker scare last year I keep waiting for something to 'show' :)

I keep reading how peoples markers went up & a while later they had mets! Well mine went up to 387, & so far nothing! I guess that's good! But I don't know if my onc appts reassure me because there are no blood tests- just a discussion, a quick feel of my scar, boob & armpits then I'm out of there thinking was that worth the drive? Any symptoms are put down to the drugs I'm on....

I guess thats the norm- do your appts go like that, or do you get a more thorough going over?

Anyway, at least the nice weather is here at long last! Enjoy that sunshine Laughing

KT, I'm glad your lump turned out to be nothing. I don't have tumour marker tests. I think I will ask my onc at my next appointment.

I have finally decided on a surgeon and booked a recon date for 1 Feb. To make sure my OK breast is Ok I had a MRI last week. I'm getting the results Tues but it's making me nervous!

I'm glad this thread is quiet. It must mean everyone is living their lives! Great!

Hi Kiwi mum, yes has been a quiet thread for awhile.  glad to hear from you. i take a look in at times, but everything starting to speed up in light of the Christmas season coming upon us.  I am having an MRI on tuesday, to do with my dizzy and bad heads, they just ruling out brain mets and confirm i do have one with no complications, my memory is bad now. but have to keep on living the life i have been given. have not had a MRI b4, but told its extremely noisy and can be claustophbic if your that way inclined.  Hope your results come back ok, will be thinking of you.

sorry Kt,   ihope things are with you glad your lump was ok.  we do worry, i think its natural and understandable to though. but even tho i try not to. as it was said, worrying robs of you of your day. concern yes, but worrying b4 you know there is anything  to worry about is probably not good for us. i am a worry wort, i must admit. but hope you ok. and kiwi mum, hope you  get perfect results.

everybody else hope you all doing well. musical hope you doing well, catch up sometime soon.     LOVE TO YOU ALL. XOXO

Hey Midinight., that MRI is drawing closer. All the best for Tuesday, and I hope it's nothing. I also hope these headaches are just due to the stress of your business and that they will go away. As for the MRI, I know I didn't find it bothersome, as far as being hedged in goes...so hopefully you should be fine too. As with most of these tests and scans and what not, they always want you to stay absolutely still. You have't done chemo, so your veins should be OK as well. With me, it's a never ending nightmare, as to WHO is going to place the needle. I have had a constant battle with this issue, as have others. Some of us get away with it some dont. I also got a nasty rash from the tracer dye they use with the MRI which took a course of steroids to fix it. It was yet one more thing my "good" arm had to endure before I finally said enough. No more BPs or needles in either arm. Now it's my foot and I hate it, but oh well.

Hi musical, thank you, yea tuesday. abit nervous i guess. i must read the form again and fill the info in. went and did this blood test friday that MRI requested, 2 working days, friday and monday.  i did not realise i would be getting dye through me, must go and read up. i hope they find a vein as she was having problems on friday trying to bring one up with blood test. Draculars have been taking alot  blood from me of late.oh well guess i wil find out on tuesday.

Hi Midnight, yes of course you will be a bit nervous and it really is stressful having all this hanging over you all the time wondering when or what the next drama will be. From my understanding they do use this dye in conjunction with MRI but someone please correct me if there are other options.  There can be different types of dye though. I'm pretty sure they wil have it on my info sheet what type they used on me. I know when they did a CT scan on me, sometime around the beginning of the year or end of last year... they couldn't get the needle in either of my feet, so I just drank the orange liquid and they reckoned that would be enough. Sometimes really makes you wonder how many times they just put things in the too hard basket and go ah well....

Oh, would be interested if you could comment on the dye situation with you..

lol have been checking the veins on my hand, looks like a couple of good  juicy \ones on the left one that they could probably use. lol. i will let you know what happens. i should get off my butt and go and get stuff ready for interviews, i so dont feel  like it, am enthusiastic, i dont think.  i will pin those boys against the wall, bil and hubby and say, employ them. i am  so over this. they are too. if you dont get right one, only causes issues later. which is why we have not employed anyone.  having the wrong one is more hell than not having anyone. i will be in touch. oxox

    Hi all

Just popped in to say hi. Midnight can't remember if I had dye for my MRI but certainly have for CAT scans. Cats have just come complaining so had better feed them.

Did interviews last night, went well, looks like we may have somebody, just waiting for the boss  to ring up and say yes tell him to start, he is going for a ride for two days to see how he likes it and whether we like him, to see if the puzzel fits so to speak and on from there. the other one we interviewed was a know it all, he has been in mangerial postions, and wants a break from that, but he has too much knowledge and that would annoy hubby and rub BIL up the wrong way. he came across thinking he was the gift of truck driving. but he was quite nice tho even so. the other guy was young and very experienced. as well see what happens.

    midnight1327 Member Posts: 1,331

well he is rung and will be turning up at depo morning at 6am. i told him to really impress the boys is ask what is to be done and help them get the trucks  out. one guy we had just stood back and would not help. so he is quite happy with that little advice. Please God make this work out and that we have the right driver. When i got home, we had tea, and  i was just settling down and came over so dizzy, i was nuaseatated and when i turned over, my head would just swim. it was horrible. its sort of what i have been getting for ages but this made me feel so sick, all i could thunk of, was, what the heks wrong with my head, i am better today, still light headed at times, but man last night, i told hubby to bring me a bowl as i did not think i would get to loo, my balance  was off, i had to hold on to everything and hubby waited in hall til i was finished, and helped me back to bed. it really is annoying as i want to get on with life.  I was pretty happy with the interviews, i was not stressed. so dont what was all about,   oh well i will rest today, clean up and have a rest.

    Hey checking in here.

Midnight, you would be surprised sometimes just how much we don't realize how much stress we're under, and it can be a whole lot of things adding up. Getting the right driver would undoubtedly have contributed to this as well as the scan tomorrow. I just hope and pray that it will all go well. Big warm and gentle hugs for this as the unknown can be VERY stressful. Ha, how funny last night you saying to hubby to get a bowl. Only differeence is I asked my hubby to get me a bucket. Man did I feel grotty. Just as well I didn't use the bucket and made it to the loo instead. WHAT A PERFORMANCE! I know undoubtedly what caused mine. My lunch I ate was good food, but too rich. You live and you learn. I just can't take too much rich food. Ughhh.

lol, we were both were in the wars.  i hate vommiting, it makes me sick. i hope you ok today too. yes i could of  been under stress and did not realise the amount i was under, i just did not feel it the same as i have at other interviews. it was more relaxing this time around and we only had the two, where we have had five other nights to do. anyway i really hope you ok, food can upset our little applecarts abit. esp rich stuff. thinking of you heaps warm hugs.

Thanks for your concern. Kiss Yep, Im good today, because I just KNEW IT, that the sooner I offloaded that lot last night, the better off I would be...which proved correct, instead of holding onto it and drawing everything out, which is what I did recently with a similar situation, although that time I managed to settle it without pewking. So tum was a bit sore afterwards but it settled down  and I was all snug to hubby, cuz it happened just before bedtime. Got a good sleep too, unlike night before (3.5hrs). Kept getting hot and cold, and when I was cold I was FREEEEZING. Seems to happen when tired and not enough sleep.

LOL T tonight is going to be very gentle and basic. Think I will do some stir fry mince, cabbage  (a little crunchy) and brocolli, egg noodles, and some tomato puree which I freeze from my homegrown ones. I'll risk just a smidgen of garlic. Mmmm that should top it off nicely. Smile

yummy musical, that sounds scrumptous. we have a roast and i am doing baby spuds with butter and garlic  seasoning on mine. i dont dare give hubby garlic as he will be having a night up at the loo and i will also pay for it, gets very windy in this house when he has garlic, he loves it, BUT???? OH no. so i enjoy it instead. i am getting hungry, we eat late.  i like to eat with him, other wise there is no quality time together.

hi girls,, had the mri and it was noisy. but all went ok, they put the dye in half way thru, the procedure took about half an hour. they did ask me if i took blood thinners right  at the end of mri, dont know if it procedure or they had a reason to ask that, as i we know that blood clots can be caused through tamoxifen. so i guess will find out results  in due time, do not know how long it takes to get results, guess it depends on what they found or if they did. but i am nackered, so going to have an early night. thanks for your concern girls.

    hi ladies

Two weeks out from pmx and snb, my friend just forgot and gave me a massive bear hug. An hour later I'm still on the verge of tears! It hurt so much. Anyway, first meeting with MO this Tuesday, looking forward to getting a plan.

    I hope everyone is well

    Xx kk

Hi kiwikid, WELCOME! we're sorry you've had to join us but glad to see new NZers come on in.  I hope your recovery goes well, and that you have the resources and help available to you. If theres anything you need to ask, just say. If someone doesn't know, then someone else might. Our BC's can be so different.

This is a great website and over my time I've come here to get great advice which adds to the pile you already get from your med team. The best thing at your stage, as much as possible and as much as you can take in, (it can be overwhelming)  is to get knowledgeable about the things that are likely to affect you. I see you had Lymph nodes out. I would fully recommend anyone to look at the excellent Lymphoedema Forum here and take a browse, because this thing is best known about BEFORE the fact. If you know about it early, you give yourself much better chances of dealing with it efficiently. A lot of BC patients were'nt told, or werent told enough.

    Hi Kiwikid,

Glad to hear you are back out and in the process of healing.

Make sure you are taking any painkillers you need to right now. You don't need to be in pain and how upsetting that a hug did it. It's one of those occasions when you realise that things are indeed different. Guessing it has passed now but be careful for a little while. Can get sort of shooting pains for a while. It's nerves sending signals but it feels like electric shocks(just little ones). Reminds me of growing up on the farm.

Good luck tomorrow and yes you will feel better when you have a new plan to follow.
