Midnight are you still snoozing? how are you now? Im trying to work out your wait in A&E...is that 5 1/2 hrs round about? Im so sorry you have to wait that long. When I had a seroma after Mast. hubby and I had to wait 8 hours in A&E and I SWORE I WOULD NEVER DO THAT AGAIN... Oh and to boot we both got the flu a couple of days later. Hereon in its known as the "bug factory" to us. I was so ropable I cried all the way home. That was bad enough but waiting 5 1/2 with a rotten headache well thats disgusting. Ive been a person who has had headaches too. Some of them can be extremely mean and nasty. I remember my siss who was staying with me called the GP out right on midnight one night. Headache was so bad I couldnt stand light or anything. Blankets over head. GAve me a jab in the butt of morphine and it barely touched it. At the time cost 100$ call out and that was out to the country as well. I'd hate to say what it woudl be now. Thats the worst one I ever had, but I had another similar one but that was at a more respectable time in working hours. SIL took me to doc that time. Same deal, morphine ..barely touched it. Thankfully I dont get them like that now.You need something stronger than flipping panadol.
Indeed headaches are a SideFX of Tamox. I had them but they were totally different type of headache to anything I'd experienced. They were about 4/10 max, and that was only initially. They passed and I was fine after that. I still get the occasional headache especially if I wake up too hot.
Hey Im wondering if its a stress thing...youve had so much to deal with lately with the business and all. DOnt worry about the snoring either, LOL both hubby and I snore too. Yep, on the back is asking for trouble. Please check in when youre awake and let us know hpw you are.

Hi musical and Alyson and catnz, yea i am feeling alot better now. yea panadol dont work, i took four in one go and did not do a thing. i brought some nurofen and took that before i went to bed, i never got back on here last night, i was too nackered. but i slept well. yea that was a headache from hell. yes the stress lately probably not helped the situation. i did ring bc nursel and left a message for her about it all, she cant do much, just making her aware. as they did think it was a clot. and we have DVT right thru our family, mum nearly died of it a couple,of times. they said, if i get a headache like that again, they will do a brain scan. hope not though, that was nasty as.

Yay Midnight great to see you better. Yeah horrible alright. Ive never been a nurofen girl. Is it correct that its hard on your stomach? I used to have digesic, for any aches and pains which were usually to do with monthly, inlcuding HA's. Have now been discontinued. The equivalent of that has also been discontinued and now I dont know what they have in its place. I found digesic really good for headaches, but bung you up if you dont watch it. Another thing I found was if I caught it in time I could back it off. Too late and awwww. Earlier on I used to have an inhaler for HA's...I think it was called ergotomine or something. Hope you dont get any DVT's. Those are seriously the pits.0

No my mum had a clot that went into her heart when she was 22 and jammed and she was out shopping in auckand, in the city. and she colapsed in the street, they got her into a shop and she had this blue dress on and was just drenced in sweat, she went into place where you are just about to pass on, she could see herself hovering above her body and then came rushing thru the tunnel and thats when she described, she was wet thru, her friend who was with her, never went shopping again with my mum or took a long time, she was scared and that stressed out, it freaked her out. but mum has leg clots most of her life, i was concerned when they stuck me on tams that it could be dangerous for me as to what mum went thru, but Cheryl reckoned, i would be ok and i told Claire the radiation Doc and she said, it should be ok, they documented it. so hope that was not a clot, or one that broke up, i may talk to Gp about going on a light blood thinner, i am also on stats for cholestreol, so hope that has not caused any probs, they have s/e's too. all i know i was in agony and holding my head. it litterly woke me up.. Thanks for all yr concern and suppport. hugs

No Probs Midnight, its always nice to have support. Tamox was a concern for me too, with clots, because I have them in my family as well. Gosh, 22 is so young.... When I had surgery, and was on Tamox, I found out it is recommended for some people with a family history of clots to stop 2 weeks before surgery, then start it again a bit after surgery. Cant rmemeber the exact times, but its worth considering should you need surgery for anything.
Hope you have a good sleep tonight.

yes Alyson, have not seen anybody on here, so i go, over and talk to the girls in Ausy. i think some of them think it makes them think of there illness too much, which is understanding and they are taking a break, i enjoy the company of it and so i go on Australian one. and keep checking in here. hugs

Jenn0 -

Hi again! Try as I might I keep peeping in to see how you all are!
So much for forgetting all about BC...
I hope you are all well and enjoying the warmth that is slowly coming back...just need to get rid of the wind now.
Hope you have your employment issues sorted midnight. Glad your recon has gone well Jenn (I check the aussie forum too from time to time).
Even tho I hardly ever post I do think of you all & check up on you from time to time...
I am trying to come here less often tho, because I'm having trouble letting go & trusting my body (just went to GP with a little lump on MX side & she gave me an US form- but I think I will leave it till I see the onc in a month or so). Part of me wants to never check for things, another wants to get in early to get rid of anything to do with BC...so still struggling with it all. Drives me nuts!
So I will try & put everything on the back burner again. I'll pop in some time- just not too soon!

I know what you mean. I visit this forum everyday all day and am very aware that I need to step away at some point.
With this feeling of relief I now have after the BMX I can feel the time coming closer when I will be able to step back a bit.

heY Kt nice to see you. i totally understand where you are coming from. just nice to see you, i think its the fellowship of all the others that draw me probably more than the cancer, but mine is probably not as intense as alot of you ladies had it. its was a high grade one but i did not have chemo or have to have mx at this stage. No KT our employment issues are not sorted. thats driving me nuts. never mind. lovely to see you.

Just thought this "90 year old" would pop by and say hey ladies, how are you all doing. I'm OK except for Arimidex making me a near cripple half the time. Hopefully the rugged sideFX abate some.
0 -
Well that was a poor effort. I'll try again.
Hey Midnight, how are you? Never underestimate BC. As far as Im concerned it doesn't matter how big or small or whatever, you can never tell what this beast might do. Its good to stay in touch anyway.
Hi Alyson lovely pik of you in avatar. I hope you are having a great day too.
Hi Jenn28 well its lovely to see the Oz girls come on in and say Hi. Great that you are releived after BMX. Ive had both off too but at seperate times. Not sure what you call that LOL. I most certainly feel thats one less thing I have to worry about, or worry less anyway.
Hey Kt, yes great to see you come on in. Whatever you want to do, it's always good to see you anyway. We all understand theres times when we wanna take time out. We also know that we can pop in any time too. It's great, and for me at this time, I want to support Midnight and her great thread. It may rest sometimes, but it can always be resurrected too.
Hope you ladies have a great day!

Hi there Musical, yes the s/effects.can make you feel like 190 aye. going to Doc today re these headaches that don't want to go away, they want to get to the bottom of it and see whats doing it and that nurofen is not good long term, but it does work in keeping them at bay. so hope they able to figure it out, how i am sure. the bloods did not show a thing at hospital, we will C. hope you are ok, and not in too much discomfort. thinking of you, will keep you posted.

Oh no, not these darned headaches again midnight. Thats dreadful. I so hope you can get to the bottom of this, and sooner rather than later. They are THE PITS. If you've got sore feet or something you limp, but when youve got a headache you can't think straight no matter what you do. As I say, the Pits.
Is Nurofen hard on your tummy? It's something I've never taken. Maybe you can look at using something elseand alternate it so its not so hard on your system. Of course talk to doc. It's something Ive done with certain meds and it tends to pay off with me.
Yes please keep us posted.
Hugs

well my sister said, they are so not good for you. but if they work, well you need something, i am on the 3rd pakt since the 27 sept. i am on losec, so probably not good for my esophegitis, which i burn in the top part of it if i dont have the losec, so in that aspect the nurofen is not good for that. I will keep, you posted though. i will be having a shower soon. so will love and leave you for now, i have to find an address for hubby first.

Good luck at the dr Midnight. I hope they can start down the path of trying to figure out what is happening.
Jenn0 -
Me too. I know they did bloods when i first went with it, but my sister does think that will tell much with a headache. am hoping its somthing minor, which it probably is, but for peace of mind, need to check it out and the giddy feelings, slightly nauseated, say light headed. so i will talk to hime about and get some better pain medication as well, rather than the nurofen. thanks girls..

Hi ladies. Just checking in as I've been absent for awhile.
I used to be on BCO all day everyday like you Jenn. BC no longer occupies my every thought ... unless I have a pain and I immediately think the BC has returned!
I've been following your recovery on FB, and things like look they are improving/healing well. It's been 2 weeks now hasn't it? Are you up and walking around doing things?
I'm off to see another PS on Monday to discuss DIEP or Free Flap TRAM. I'm not sure what to expect but it's worthwhile exploring.
I hope you get those headaches sorted Midnight.
KT, I hope that lump turns out to be nothing. My personality means that I'd be at the doctor the next day having my US. I've always been impatient!
I've been having a bit of trouble with arm swelling on my MX side so am back at the Physio having lymphatic massage. It works well but is expensive!
Musical - I hear you on sidefx. The Tamox makes me stiff and creaky too!0 -
Morning all. Must get up and get organised as we are off to Australia tomorrow.
Kiwimum you can get LE massage through the hospital board. I saw the LE nurse on Wednesday and had a wonderful massage as well as ordering a new sleeve and gauntlet (free).
hope you all have a good day.

i went to the doctor and he said, he thinks i have something called cluster miagrains, how ever he does not know and given that i have BC DX, he is sending me to a neuroligist to check to see if there are no mets there, he does not think so, but as you said, musical, and he echoed, never under estimate BC, even with treatment, you only need one rogue cell to go and start a party somewhere else and invite his gate crashers and you have a rakus. he does not want to leave a stone un-turned. he went off and had a conflab with his other collegue to get confirmation as to where he should go with it as the other one is good with head probs and how they should treat the headaches in the meantime. MY BP was high, 162/102, which for me is high, i am only typically 130/70 whatever. its always been stable. so i am probably stressed or the headaches are doing it and i have to go in next two weeks to get the nurse to do it and record to see if its one off or not. they faxed the letter off to the nuerologist, so should hear from them soon. he said they should get on to it quickly with being bc patient. so thats the latest. will keep you posted.

Aly. i do hope you have a wonderful time with Chrissy and a wonderful holiday, sorry i was caught up in my own things, i forgot to wish you a really good holiday. hope you have a fun time and keep safe. ENJOY ENJOY.
And kiwi mum. i think its a common Alment with BC patients, we get a pain and we think its somewhere else. i even told my Doc that. its quite common amoung alot of women to get very concerned about those prospects. he said, it would be un-natural not to have concerns like that. its only expected really, yea i am always checking snf reading the posts and alot of it is educating my self. but he says, its can so happen, that is reality. it was nice to see you back in for a chat.

Yay Alyson - Enjoy your holiday. Who do I get in contact with to ask about LE nurse? I didn't know this. Thanks for the tip.
Midnight - I'm glad your doctor is checking things out. It's very easy for them to dismiss our concerns. Your doctor sounds good!
It's a beautiful day here today. I was hoping it was the start of summer, but apparently there's a huge storm due tomorrow. Bugger!!

yea blow it, as its going to make things crap, ground etc, it was starting to really dry out, from the mud and crap, on the other hand hubby needs a rest, and bil has a plan to sort sheep out, he can't if it rains like that, so hoping for hubbys sake it does rain alot and concentrate with the sheep next weekend and its along one too, but i am sick to death of wet weather, drives me nuts. anyway gonna have lunch, b4 this trade me things comes up in a few mins, Grrrr, i am sick of trade me and having to organise it all for BIL. he is addicted to it, i am sure.he buys all this cheap stuff and then it sits on his property for the next how many years and rots. he has hoarding issues.

Kiwimum ring the LE CLinic at Greenlane 3074949 ex 28582. You need a letter from your doctor or you can go through the Cancer Society.
I am trying to get packed, still worrying about what to take.

Thanks Alyson. Oz is funny at the moment. Hot some days, cold and wet the next! I'm not sure where you are going but will probably need to pack for all seasons. Have a great trip!
Midnight - "hoarding issues" made me laugh!!
