Yes I have become a fan of RPA which is a TV programme showing on TV One.
We haven't had too much rain in the city but seems really bad out to the west. Least its not like Prague where my nephew lives where the flooding has closed much of the city.

RPA stands for Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It's in Sydney and is where I did all my treatments as it is within minutes of my work.
It's a very large public hospital amd I felt very much like I was on a conveyor belt for treatment. I have now moved to an oncologist at a smaller private hospital for follow-up.
I must see if I can find that episode online. Since I work in cancer research and have had cancer I don't normally watch that program because it is no "escape" for me...

Thx Jennt . Didnt have a clue what it meant. These days I've developed a strong "allergy" to TV. I hardly watch the box because of so much rubbish and propaganda ... sometimes I feel like sticking my boot thru the screeen. (fat lot of good thatll do I know) You do get the odd program or snippetts therein that are very informative though.

Morning all
For a hospital series RPA is very good and I have become quite a follower which is unusual for me. Like you Musical I get very annoyed with TV programmes. I do know what's on because my sister tends to watch a lot of TV - this drives me insane some days. My sister who is 76 lives with us, long story but basically she has no money whatsoever and a family that needs a very hefty kick where it hurts. One son has literally conned her out of all her savings. That family situation would make great reality TV. I just can't believe what happens sometimes. Luckily my DH has been a saint over this as it is not easy. Sorry my rant for the morning. You expect that you may have to look after an elderly parent but not a sibling.
Sun is shining here which is good.
Big hugs

Thats awful when you hear of things like kids taking advantage of parents. It sounds like your kicking deduction shouldve happened ages ago Alyson. Often parents make a rod for their own backs and thats the outcome. Yea if I had to put up with "hellivision" going a lot I think I'd go insane too. I tell u I have truly been VERY tempted to stick my boot through it, but common sense enters just in time and says dont make a needless mess to clean up. LOL. ohhh but the joy of planting your boot thru it would be very satisfying .

Morning
Thanks Alyson & Jenn, I should have been clearer- sorry to stump you Musical!
I think the girl with BC will be on next week too, as they follow her a bit more as she is going to have chemo...
We could do with some of that sun up here, Alyson. Its very grey and uninspiring- I'm going for a walk & coffee with a friend soon, hope it doesn't rain!
Have a good one

I watched RPA last week, am sad that it worse than anticipated. poor girl. BC is getting to younger ones and more suttle. They are getting cancers that adults are getting and shouldn't even concern themselves with, not fair, and they are develoing earlier, like periods starting at nine etc, i was 13. the world is developing so fast and boys getting testicular cancer, i know of a young chap 16 he got that, postate cancer is also hitting younger men, used to be a fifty , sixty year old cancer. i have heard of a 25 year old getting it, right in their prime of life, very unfair.
Yes Musical, i am type 2. hoping these classes will work out well. well girls i better go and do some more arranging for BIL weekend away, yay. peace reins. for at least two days. i know i sound like i am glad he is going away, because i am. he thinks he is God. and is driving me nuts. so when he is away, we relax and can be ourselves. I really start to respect him and then he will say or do something that really annoys me and then i am back to square one. and i have to get back to that stage of been forgiving and unconditional and its really hard for me to do that with him as he gets on my nerves so bad at times and yet he can be so good. But today he in that sargent major mood and that rubs me up the wrong way.

Does type 11 mean you have to inject?

No Its just the pills, Metformin. sorry i forgot to say. type 1 you inject, thank God, i don't like needles.

Hi ladies
No activity here for a while. I hope everyone is well.
I'm well. My recon recovery has gone so well that Stage 2 is scheduled for 1 July. This is to shape for symmetry and create a nipple. I applied for prior approval from Southern Cross and found out this afternoon that they won't pay. They will pay some for the nipple, just not the symmetry. I'm so cross at them! Apparently wanting symmetry is considered "cosmetic". FFS! I'm not asking to be Pamela Anderson, just roughly the same size on either side. I intend to take it further and see how I get on.
Secondly I've been feeling a bit lightheaded and dizzy at times and in the last week I've been out walking with DH and fallen over twice. I think I just wasn't looking where I was going, but DH is concerned. I had an appt with my breast surgeon today and raised it. He has sent me for a CT scan this Thurs. I see him again next Tues to get the results. I'm feeling a bit stressed about it ... but hoping it's nothing!0 -
Hi Kiwimum, well good on you and hold out as much as you can for that symmetry. Like we had any choice in getting BC!
I hope nothing is wrong with your issues of dizzyness and Im sorry to hear that youve fallen twice. Hubby is right to be concerned. Will be hoping and thinking of you for Thursday. Please keep us posted on how you do with this.
Hugs.

Thanks Musical. How are things with you?
Are you bracing yourselves for the "mega" storm that's on its way? I'm travelling to Wellington on Friday for work and hope to be able to fly out again!

Kiwimum, thx for asking. - I was pretty brassed off last night. For months Arimidex has been playing almost nice in that things have been doable for the most part. You could get on with your life. Lately Ive been getting S/Eff brewing again. Hot flushes, aching joints and increasing peripheral neuropathy pain etc. Well last night for no apparent reason my right foot got really sore. This morning its OK. It all serves as a reminder dealing with cancer meds is always the lesser of two evils. Better to have the Arimidex than the other horrible option. Well, rant finished.
..yea we're bracing for it lol... right now it's as warm and calm as. Very mild in fact. Wow sounds like you will flying in the thick of it. It's supposed to hit the lower NI Thursday evening and supposed to stick around for a couple of days. Well if you like a bit of photography you might be able to get some lovely shots out of plane window?
Where we are situated it is quite rare to get snow. I think it was 2 years ago we got 3 (unprecedented) days in a row. It was really lovely. I was so blown away by its beauty I did heaps of videoing. I think the novelty would wear off if you had it for days and days.

Hi ladies, just popped in to say "hi". Hope all is going well. Re the weather, we live in North Canterbury and it is sooo cold! Some forecasts say definately snow tomorrow, other say probably not. We have stocked up with food (what a nightmare at the supermarket! They ran out of bread and milk) so all set if snowstorm arrives. We are off to Haiwaii in 3 weeks, so will be nice to be in 30 degrees again!

lol musical, i remember that snow, we were at Rangitikie then, it was a picture, i felt sorry for the animals in the paddocks, esp if they dont have shelter, its raining at the moment it think.
How is is it Rowan. U lucky lady you, you enjoy that hawian holiday. i have been there, delightful, i stayed at the outrigger surf hotel, nearly got run over first day, i forgot about it been different side of road driving, cause i looked in wrong directions. i soon learnt after that, they were not going very fast. enjoy your Holiday. everybody have a warm next two days, glad you set up Rowan. Hope you will be ok in wellington Kiwi mum. take care.
Good night ladies

Hi Rowan, nice to hear from you again. Yes I saw on the news tonight there was a run on the supermarkets. Gosh lol you'll be going from the freezer to the fire, but you sound like you love those warm temps so that will be nice for you. All the best for that trip.
Midnight, yes I dont like it either when animals havent got shelter or sufficient shelter. I know to some of us snow can be a real nuisance, but I kinda think its just so beustiful too....not so much the slush it leaves afterwards though.
Got a bit of a sore thraot tonight. Im hoping its just coz Im tired and need a good sleep and not from my mum who was sneezing and carrying on today so I hope Im not coming down with anything.

Well it looks like our showers here have got "lumps" in it so who knows whats going on out there. lol snuggled up by the fire, fan doing 90 to the dz. Few dips in the power. UPS giving out the odd protest signal through power sags and all. Nothing we're not used to here.
Oh kt, thats not so good hubby stuck down there. Its supposed to worse tomorrow.
Sleep tight all.

Cancelled my Wellington trip. I'm going next Friday instead. I didn't fancy getting stuck in Wellington like your husband KT. Especially not on a Friday night. I'm glad you've got power again KT.
Musical, the SEs are a drag aren't they? I hope your foot is better today.
Hi Rowan, the snow looks pretty set in down South. I hope you are tucked up nice and warm tonight. Hawaii sounds amazing!
Midnight, congrats on the clear mammo results!
CT was this afternoon. I'm not seeing the doc until Tuesday. I hate waiting and worrying!
The weather is pretty bleak here. The hail is pounding on the windows as I type.
Keep warm and safe everyone.0 -
Cold and wet here with wonderful thunder and lightening.
By Sunday I will have the housse to myself. My brother and his wife who have been staying are going home, well that is if the planes are flying and my sister who lives with us is off up to the Bay of Islands to see her grandaughter and great grandson.
I must think about bed the cold and wet is not helping my joints.

Hope you are all a bit warmer today?
