Hi Ladies, abit warmer today musical. Hubby had to go to Hospital last night, he had an argument with a boar (PIG) and a pallet, trying to get the swine out of sow's paddock, he ran into the pallet that hubby was using as a sheild and its slices his hand open, quite a  deep cut and 8 stitches, all under the line of the last three fingers on right hand. he got a tetnus shot and  three  other needles which he hates to numb area for the stitches. he was actually out in good time, 3 hours. pretty good for Palmy. got anti-biotics and  stronger pain relief  perscriptions and was home at ten. no tendon involvment, i was half expecting him to be kept in as it was pretty nasty.  he was happy to be home. he was pretty restless, so we both tired today. Dam pig. he was out again this morning in the paddock, different one rooting it up, he is the next one to the sale, or my freezer, lol. i want them to do one, hubby, said we will do a YOUNGER ONE. he will be too strong in flavour, being a boar. we will do a baccor. but hubby is pretty sore today.

how is everybody.  Kiwi Kid, hope you ok and not sufferring too much with LE and Musical, trust you are ok. think about you often, all of you. xxxx take care,  i am hungry, going to eat something. toasted sammy, cheese, ham and oinion. sounds  nice. xxxxx

Hubby is supposed to be flying in to Wellington tomorrow am- if the airports open. He could be in for an interesting week if he does.

    Hope you are ok Kruise!

Hope your hubby is feeling better midnight.

And all if you with LE, I hope it settles down soon :)

Today was so lovely here we went for a nice long walk along the coast. Then had an icecream on the way home to keep the kids sweet :D

Yea, musical, it was quite a rolling sensation, i felt abit of vertigo. it was like rolling on a wave. freaky abit i think. i was laying on the bed.  and the bed started to move and roll. ewwww. weired feeling and all the  lights shook. nothing fell down though.

This sure was a strange one. Usually I hear them loud and clear like a freight train coming thru the wall. Not so this one...and it lasted for ages and ages. Hubby said look at the hedge and it wasnt  moving normally but snakelike. Weird. I agree, it made you feel quite whoozy. It wasnt really a roller coaster as those feel like theyre going in the same direction but this was more like huge waves going in all directions UGGH. not really any of the usual sharp jolts either. Hubby just set down a cuppa tea which spilt all over my coffee table covering. Thats all that happened here.

I hope anyone in Wellington area is OK and hasnt suffered any damage.

Pleased you are OK Musical. Just spoken to a friend who has some books down and a bit of mess in the kitchen.

Sounds as if there is damage in Seddon.

    Big hugs

Hi Girls, new to this site. I'm in Auckland and was diagnosed 2 weeks ago for the third time. Had a Mastectomy with expander recon. My other side is a tram recon done in 2007 it was my only option as had already had a partial and radiation on the same breast in 1999 at 31 years of age.

I'm still waiting for my pathology to see where we go to from here. Really not looking forward to doing it all again. :-(

ShazzaKelly sending really big hugs. You will find support here and on the Aussie site as our treatments are the same. Chrissy there is a real expert and can give lots of advice.

What part of Auckland are you in? I am in Mt Eden.

I'm sorry to see you here ShazzaKelly. Please come back often for support.

kkid - I hope you can get that LE sorted. I had terrible cording problems but its been ok for a while. I saw a great LE therapist, but had to pay.

Patc - my surgeon was Zachary Moaveni. He did my recon (1 Feb) and nipple reconstruction (1 July). I'm not sure how they do it. He described it to me as doing a complex origami / folding. I'm healing really well and am pleased with the results. I'm back to get areola tattooing in approx 3 months.

We've just returned from 4 days in Wellington. We were in a cafe when the big one hit. It was really scary. We all ended up under the table. The cafe owner was screaming! Our children were freaked and didn't sleep much at all last night. There was lots of shaking overnight and a biggish one at just after 3am. We were glad to fly home this morning! I hope everyone is safe.

Hi KiwiMum, yes we are pretty close to each other. Have probably passed each other at a cafe before. :-)

I have been going to St Marks Breast Centre since my 1st diagnosis 14 years ago. My Surgeon is Stan Govender who also did my mastectomy and Tram flap recon in 2007. He did a fantastic job that time.

My 15yo daughter is down in Wellington visiting friends she was there for the earthquake too and was quite excited about it!!!!

ShazzaKelly - my doc was Isaac Cranshaw at Mercy Breast. I've heard good things about Stan! I'm sure you are in good hands. When you get your pathology you can at least get a plan of attack.

Getting your head around doing it all again must be tough. In Nov it will have been 2 years since I finished my treatment. It feels like a bad dream sometimes!

I hope your husband isn't getting shaken around KT.

How big did the Sunday earthquake feel in Palmerston North Musical?

Hey all, no I havent felt anything at all since that big one which is quite surprising with size of some of these aftershocks. Theres also been other activity, like Huntly, and was more or less the same time as that big one. As far as how much on the richter scale I'd hate to even guess with this one coz it was so odd. One things for sure, its one of the biggest we've had here for a good while. ...just cant get over how swimmy it felt like waves of all sizes in all directions.  Guess Im more used to the jolty types or straight rollercoasters.... I'd pass on any earthquake thanks but I particularly don't like ones I cant hear before they start shaking, they give me the willies  Undecided  .

Have a safe evening all, no matter where you are.

Hi all, I went and saw my surgeon yesterday and got my pathology results which were a bit of a mixed bag. In summary:

Multifocal grade 3 infiltrating ductal carcinoma. The largest lesion 13mm (nice and small) lymphovascular infiltration present. Nice clear margins.

Metastatic carcinoma in at least 7/9 lymph nodes there are 2 grade 3 duct carcinomas 9mm and 7 mm

1infraclavical lump (up near my collar bone) 8x6mm grade 3 IDC

I have an appointment for a PET scan on the 6th and then will see an oncologist and take it from there. Guess I was hoping for slightly better news

Hi Shazza, a warm welcome to the boards. Smile

Im sorry that your results were not as expected, but we're glad youve come here. You can ask anything you like, vent, or indeed help us with things we dont know. BC IS such a mixed bag for sure and BC ORG is such a wonderful resource where there is so much covered if we want to go into specifics.

Well ladies I lost my cool night before last cuz I couldnt find an important document Grrrrrrrr. (still havent found it) Ever feel like the paper war climbs in on you.... Yell..... just looking at all my BC notes and it fills 2 of those flippin folder thingees that you shut the lid on. Its high time for another "get tough" episode, and I had one of those not long after dx. I'm by no means a hoarder but boy this stuff creeps up on you!  Bonfire coming up!!!! Yippeeeee    Cool  .

    kiwimum Member Posts: 460

Bugger! I'm sorry your results weren't a bit better ShazzaKelly.

PET scan isn't too far away. I'm an impatient person and the waiting I found hard.

Once you see your onc you can get a plan of attack. Do you already have one or are you getting referred to someone new? I'd imagine they will throw everything at you!

My onc was Reuben Broom. He was great! Because I had 12 positive nodes I got the works. Not fun, but hopefully successful. Please PM me if I can offer you support in any way. Please check in here often for support too.

Musical - I hope you find that document.

Coming up 4am ladies as I finish brekky and I drink my last cuppa coffee then wait 7 hrs for blood test including cholestrol. Then I have a foot draw and a wonderful lady comes over to GP SUrgery to do it instead of me having to go to hospital to have it done. As long as I do what she says it goes well. She likes me to lie on my back and knees up. I tell you she would put Surgeons and doctors to shame!

LOL Kiwimum (and far better to smile than do the alternative)  havent found it yet cuz the looking is going entail a BIG clean up job and sort that flipping paper war out. Wont have time this weekend. Too much to do, but when it happens it ALWAYS feels great afterwards! WHen I did it last time I had 2 HUGE (about a cubic meter each!!!) plastic bags full of screwed up stuff to burn and burn I did. I get VERY impatient when this stuff climbs in on me therefore its like a huge weight off your shoulders to be rid of it. Fortunately its not urgent that I find it.

I have been referred to Reuben too. I only had 7 positive nodes but as I also had a tumour they removed from my collar bone area and my tumours are grade 3, so I'm also a Stage 3c. Stan suggested I'd be getting everything thrown at me as well. Such fun :-) I have an appointment with Rueben on Thursday the 1st he didn't want to wait till after the scan.

    Hi all.

I'm soo tired- had a busy day at my new job. I'm slowly getting the hang of it...

Shazza & KiwiMum, I have Reuben too as my onc (saw him once privately, & now thru public system) He does seem very thorough, which is what you want.

It will be good to come up with a treatment plan and begin to knock that b****y BC back! Thinking of you.

Oh well Musical- sounds like time for another spring clean :)

I'm off to the LE therapist tomorrow for a measure of my arm so I can get a new sleeve/gauntlet. My arm was sore last week from my job, so I want to be ready to deal to any flare-ups...

Take care everyone, have a good weekend

musical, you are up far too early, go back to bed, lol, you have an early brecky too. eww thats far too early. do you do that all the time becuse of hubby, or is that a special? i am too zonkwd  to eat that early, we eat about nine, inless i  am doing something. lol. you are amazing girl. I felt like you after that earthquake, my inner ear was  upset and i felt really nauseated the next day and did not go the gym, i cancelled out as i was feeling so yuk and i blame that earth quake as it felt like i had been on a boat on rough seas for hours.

Shazkelly, sorry about results, and welcome to the boards, nice to have you, not nice why your here, but nice to have you. hope you get heaps of tlc and looked after well during yr treatment. big hugs

LOL midnight go back to bed? youre a bit late girl. The days busted come and gone and been. Smile As for my early rise, no choice. Phlebotomist came at 11am and I had a zone of 2 hours to work within. Nothing to eat within 7 hrs before blood test but must have had something to eat no more than 9hrs before blood test. So pick your poison:  go to bed early and get up at 3.30am (fat chance of getting back to sleep after that) ... OR go to bed late (2.15 am) and have brekky just before you go. Sleep in and forget about the shopping you always do early for reasons if you didnt do it, would become a pain up the butt.

BTW I have to say this lady is AMAZING!!!! She has consistently done a good job and this time was no exception. She got it 1st time and just a bit of a prick. I told her she's brilliant and she was so stoked. Credit where its due. I wont let our local lab come within a bulls roar of me. Anyway theyre not allowed to do foot draws there and it would mean I'd have to go over to the hospital if it wasnt for this lady, so you do what you gotta do.

Kt I just got measured and waiting for my garments. Cant wait til they come as Ive had to wrap as I keep getting these silly flares. My sleeve is just had it and is now making things worse. Hoep your measuring goes well.

LOL  I used to be an early bird too, the early to bed and early to rise motto. i know its easier to get things done. ii don't know whats happened, well my life style has changed, hubby is in late and we go to sleep late. But i  better get on and do things. clean my house up.  I went to the Exersise class at the gym yesterday and they take yr BP all the time, and it was down to normal, and anyway i was talking about the truck bussiness and when he took it as they sign you out, with BP, Blood sugar etc and it was up  to 156/94, when i was finished, it was 127/78. when i went in to start (normal), so that tells alot, talking about the things we  being going thru with the business. and that is because he asked  what we did for jobs, i had a new guy, he was so nice too, he said, well we know whats doing yr BP in . its the stress you going thru and been thru. just thought i would tell you that, how stress does affect you.

Its intermittent here. Real snappy sometimes and slow as at others.

Re stress. ABsolutely! I strongly believe it has a part to play and many health issues including but not limited to BC.
