    YWheels22,

No, I am doing weekly taxol. I still have 10 to go. With all my arthritis, fibro & bursitis, I thought weekly would be better for side effects. Even doing weekly I am having issues so DD probably would have been horrible for me. I guess your cold is probably from your friends then. I read taxol can cause fibromyalgia and other issues long term too. I already have fibro but bet it doesn't help my cause any. Hope you're doing well.

    Take care,

    Sandy

Does anyone get aching lower back pain from the taxol? I am doing dose dense taxol. I had about three days of intense joint and bone pain (days 3-5). I am now on day 9 and the past two days my lower back has been aching. I don't know if it is from the taxol or from the fact that I am such intense gas!! I know it is tmi but I have the worst digestive issues with chemo as well! I just want to make sure my pain is normal. I also have been walking everyday since Saturday about 40 minutes a day so that could be making the pain worse. I just need my exercise!!

    Lmcclure4477,

Yes and yes. I am weekly taxol and have had lower back pain a lot this week. I have osteoarthritis in my lower back and sure the taxol is why it is flaring so much. I also feel like I could inflate a hot air balloon with all the gas I have had the last week. Stomache cramps and constipation too along with nausea and just a raw feeling in my guts. Not fun !!! Must be the taxol. Glad I now know I am not losing my mind though. Take care.

Sandy: Thanks I am hoping with just 4 (though it is DD) I can get through without too much long term issues. I had some pain days 3-5 but it lingered through to 9. My MO was certain it was the cold thing as everyone around here has had it. Started taking Tylenol severe cold multi symptom and that seemed to help. Hoping this round is a bit better. Nervous every time!

Imcclure: I had pain days 3-5 but not much after that, other than the cold/flu-like aches from the stupid cold I had. It will be interesting to see if I have aches past day 5 because if I do then it will be from the Taxol and not the cold/congestion/flu crap I had, which is nearly gone now. Or almost.

    Good luck!

Oh and does anyone else have a dry cough from the taxol? I don't know if it is from that or just allergies?

    YWheels22,

I do hope it was just the cold. Wishing you lot of luck with the rest of your tx's. Thanks for chatting.

    Wishing you the best,

    Sandy

    LmcClure,

Not sure what to say about that. I have had a dry hacking cough recently and then it loosens up after a few days. Not sure if taxol related or not. Sorry, not much help.

    Take care,

    Sandy

Martha323 -- I had treatments on Thursdays. Every weekend I felt really bad and better by Tuesday pretty much like you described.

lmcclure447 - I have had a cough throughout most of my Taxol experience.  MO hasn't been concerned.

Fatigue: I have had some really low RBC counts, and I was out of breath just walking across the room.  My RBC counts were up a bit last week,  and it has gotten better.  Still, I am anemic and I am just going to have to wait it out.

    Last Taxol tomorrow!

Zorina: Awesome you are done after tomorrow!!!

I had Taxol #2 of 4 today. My WBC was the lowest it has been (3.98). All my other counts will normal. My MO may give me the Neupragen shot next week when I go in for my follow-up blood work. He did not want to do the Nuelasta because I had such a hard time with it (enough pain that I had to take vicadin) and because my counts have been very good, he felt, if needed, he'd go with the Neupragen. If I am below 2 next Tuesday I will get it for 4 days. If I am above 2 we will go forward with tx the following Wednesday. If my count is low on that day, I will still have tx but will have to get the Neupragen shot the days after.

Can you all tell me what SE's I can expect from this shot. I hated the Nuelasta shot but my NP and nurse both said the Neuprgen shot is much easier.

ywheels - ironically, I had to switch from Neupogen to Neulasta because I had such severe pain from the Neupogen. Neulasta was just fine for me!! Go figure, and I sure liked giving myself only one shot as opposed to 5 or sometimes 7 of the Neupogen. #2 done - good job. Rest when you need it and only do what you can.

Adagio: you are lucky Neulasta didn't bother you. It killed me. I sure hope the Neupogen is not bad or I am doomed!!!! I am just hoping my WBC stay near or at normal so I don't need any of it! Take care!

    5thsib,

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow. I still have 9 to go. Had #3 today and hoping for less aches, pain & intestinal issues with this one. But still a fighter, I am.

    Ywheels22,

I was on neupogen with AC. Took 5 shots starting 3rd day after infusion. Shots hurt like hell for me but did not have too many aches n pains or other sides effects from it. MO says I shouldn't need it with 12 week dosing. If I would have done the DD, I would have had to have them. Wishing you much luck.

    Take care,

    Sandy

SAndy: Thanks. I am hoping I don't need it. My MO said I shouldn't need it as TAxol DD isnt's has hard on the WBC as AC DD, but he said it's possible. Keeping fingers crossed my body can stay above 2!!!!

    Ywheels22,

I will keep you in my thoughts and hope that you don't need it either. My tx se's seem to be starting earlier with each treatment. Started having pain already today with this one I got yesterday. Hard to believe everyone is so different in how their bodies handle these. thank god I have vicodin. Not sure how I would cope without it.

Hope you have a good night.

Sandy: so far just the crap taste in my mouth. Otherwise okay, but I expect tomorrow will be the aches. I have vicodin also but didn't need it last time, just Tyelnol. Hoping for the same this time around. How many more do you have to go? You have a good night too, sleep well!

    Ywheels,

I have 9 more to go! I really am glad that I did the weekly even though it will take longer. Don't think I could of taken the pain with DD. The hard part is using the vicodin for pain but having the sleepiness from it and trying to work to boot. I do payroll so don't have a job I can just let anyone do. I guess people still want to be paid. LOL

    Take care,

    Sandy

    Hi Ladies and Colt 45,

Colt Glad your wife is nearly done.  I know she is ready.

I had a great first day. I am subbing. ANd I was in the baby room and I already have a cute boy following me around. He's nearly two. LOL It felt great to walk in the door and feel like I never left. I just can't move as fast as I did. But I am only two weeks out from surgery. The hot flashes drive me nutts. Can not do hormones so I will try some pills that should help-some anti anxiety med. I forget the name.

I hope you all rest well.

Sandy: I wasn't given a choice on weekly or DD. He said DD was the protocol for my pathology and tumor, etc. While I can't compare to weekly, it's not too bad. Much better than AC. But I am not having the Nuelasta shot, which I think has made things better. I had a very hard time with the shot.

    Ywheels,

I was supposed to do DD but after doing some research on more of the side effects and knowing my body, I asked about weekly and my MO agreed without hesitation. Hope you are doing well today. I am doing okay so far. Some stomach cramping and a little pain starting but not too bad. Hope you have a good weekend.

    Take care,

    Sandy

Sandy: I asked my MO about weekly Taxol and he said nope. It's confusing on why some of us have different txs but it must be our pathology, cancer size, health history, etc....I am okay. Very tired and I feel like a lead balloon. The pain is not too bad and I have no stomach problems. Do have the dull, dry taste in my mouth. Typically, tomorrow has been a bit better so I am hoping this is the worse of it, until next time!!!! Two more to go!!!

    Have a great weekend!
