Great News!!! Today is my 1 year Cancerversary, better known as D (diagnosis) Day. And I am 2 months and 12 days NED. I also had a uterine biopsy this am and my obgyn says everything looks great and I'm probably not going to need a hysterectomy. So I'm doing my Happy Dance, and Thanking and praising God for His Blessings!!!

Thank you SO much all for the wonderful support. Definitely celebrating tonight, and next week I've organized to go to Dublin to see my family, so I'm so pleased I can go with some good news!
Macyhen,
Congratulations on NED. May he stay with you a long, long time ☺️

Cynthia,
Thank you! I've planned to go Monday to Friday next week by myself, that way I get to spend time with my mum, grandmother, brother and sister. Last May was the first time I got to go since dx in July 1012 - onc didn't want me traveling. It made me realize that Skype and telephone is great, but they need to see me in the flesh! Then I go again the end of October with my DH and kids, so that'll be the real holiday without too much talk about me. Very important for my kids - they get enough of that on a daily basis without having an intense session during their holidays. Now that I can go with good news, I'm really looking forward to the break!

Macyhen111,
Yipeee! Another NED ...am doing the happy Dance with you
Praise be indeed!0 -
Hi,
I have an appt with my onc tomorrow. Lately I have changed from being on Clodronate (Clasteon) to Pamidronate, but I have had issues with that as well and I had a CT last week that showed enhancement in my right jaw bone, so I don't think I want to continue on it.
What other options are there? Is anyone on Actonel? I know someone who had bone mets and is Her2+ and Er+ who is on it, but my onc said there are no studies on it or something like that. Also, if you can't take bisphosphonates, is there another effective option? I have also just found out that I have a met in my adrenal gland, so I have to be careful about anything harsh on my system. Sorry if these things have already been answered, but thanks for any help

Just found out my PET scan scheduled for tomorrow got moved to Monday as the insurance medical review hasn't approved it yet. I have CIGNA and they turned me down the last time we asked. Hopefully this time they will approve since I had progression on the MRI's in Feb. I'm bummed...

RangerMom, I 'll be hoping that the review board recommends the PET scan for you. Sorry you have to wait, that is always the hard part. Keep us posted.

Rangermom,
I really hope you get the go ahead for Monday, and that the scan results are good! I'm crossing my fingers for you now

I have just been diagnosed with bone mets and have an appointment tomorrow with the Chemo doctor. The mets are in both iliac crests, both scapula, right humerus, sternum, and rib. It just doesn't seem real but I know I can do what I need to do. We have had custody of a girl from Nicaragua for five years. She was deserted by her mother when she was 13. I promised her I would not leave her and I meant it. So I will be around for a long, long time. Blessings to everyone.

Yay, Macyhen!! NED is a helluva guy (so long as he sticks around).
MrsRocky, I hope your treatment gets you to NED (no evidence of disease). My daughter is 13 now and I'm not planning on leaving either.

Welcome Mrs Rocky! Hope your treatment is easy on your system and gets you to meet the fellow that can be a little fickle at times ( NED). Maybe with a little luck if your meet him he may stick around for quite a while.

Yay for the good news this week! I got some myself... Still questionable lymph node that has remained stable to a little smaller since January and nothing else!!
Question for you hardware ladies or heart issue ones when it comes to dental cleanings- I realize this seems like a crazy thing to stress about given all I've been through but I have been delaying a dental cleaning because if my fear of the prophylactic antibiotics. My ortho gave me a script for Keflex (2mg half hour prior and 1mg 1 hour after). My dentist says new dosing is only 2mg an hour before and nothing after. Either way, I am very paranoid about possible reactions to this high dose. Anyone do okay with it? Any doctors recommend lower dose/different protocol? Thank you! I'm driving myself so nuts with this. Don't know if I'm just deflecting from the bigger worries.0 -
CJRT, I've use Keflex before but not for dentistry. I'm allergic to a lot of anti biotics and have needed a kickass dose of Keflex and had no problem with it.
Hope you fair just as well with yours.

Hey Ladies, my Sisters!! How is everyone? Welcome Mrs. Rocky not happy for the reason your here, but glad you found us. My main man NED is still sticking around. I am so excited I will be doing my first Walk this Saturday, here where I live. Also my mo chose me to get a make-over and outfit to model on the 4th of October for In The Pink here in Hot Springs Arkansas. She will walk with me. I feel so honored to have been chosen, but I am scared lol. Y'all pray for me that I don't trip and fall because I am extremely clumsy. Hugs to you all, Cynthia

Congratulations Cynthia!! I love hearing NED, yay for NED! I think it is wonderful your doctor recommended you for the makeover and will be walking with you. I certainly don't look the same as I did a year ago but I agree I am enjoying my day here! Looking forward to your pictures.

CJRT and Chrissy - is it standard to get antibiotics before a dental cleaning?
I've been putting off getting one because of my low blood counts and was going to talk to my onc about it. But no one has ever suggested antibiotics as an option.
Would be interested to hear from anyone else if they take them before a cleaning too please.0 -
Latte- I need the antibiotics because of having the artificial joint... Not directly because of bone mets. I think they are needed for certain types of implanted devices and for heart conditions.

Great news for you! Celebrate!
