Thank you lulubee for all the great tips. The only issue I have is fatigue, I want to sleep all day.
Lita here's hoping those rads do the deed, wow 80% those are great odds

Good luck with rads Lita!
I had my follow up visit with MO today. TMs keep on creeping up since October. I've been having constant headaches recently and a few days ago I started having slurred speech, unilateral swollen tongue with lack of movement and difficulty swallowing. Had a brain, neck and chest CT scan today. MO is also moving up abdominal US and bone scan which should have been end of May. I just hope results will come in faster than usual around here. Just too much bad news on this thread recently.

Lita, 80 percent is incredible. Praying for fast results!
Linda, prayers that things calm down for you. Speech slurring would be so hard to deal with.

You know Gracie, I can handle the weight gain, the cane, the pain but speech slurring is for me so embarrassing. Icing on the cake.

Linda - hang in there. let us know how things go. thinking of you.

Thinking of you Lita and praying for at least the 80%.
You also Linda, that is very scary stuff for you. Praying it is not mets and corrects itself shortly.
Wendy, for me lack of energy is one of he worst SE's. I hate feeling like I am sleeping too long but never feel rested....
Babs, I'm soon sorry that happened. I fell last summer on my wrist in much the same way and it just wouldn't feel better for months. I finally went back in for another Xray and low and behold it was fractured. The dumb ass tech from the first office visit missed it. Really baby that thing along. Wrists injuries can ache so bad and of course put a wrench in anything you want to do
Hurricane winds blowing here and an inch of snow expected tonight. Let's hope the sun finally shines on us all with a glut of good news....

Hello everybody, again I have been absent for far too long. I have moved into our brand new house. It is so nice to be here and out of the tiny apartment!!! I read often and pray constantly for all of us! I am so sad to read all of the progression going on!!! There is no word I can give that hasn't already been said. I reiterate all hopeful and positive loving words to everyone suffering right now.
I have a ton of bone pain, but otherwise doing ok. Still stable on tamoxifen. 19 months now. I have yet to suffer the blow of a scan showing progression, but constantly feel like the other shoe will drop. I'm not looking for it to happen, just can't see why it wouldn't. Not the greatest way to live. MBC sucks!!!
Two weeks after moving into our house,my dhwas badly hurt on duty. He is a Denver police officer. He was on his motorcycle running radar, and clocks a guy going 55 in a 30. Dh put his radar gun away and pulled off the curb and got behind the car, lights on. The driver of the car slammed on his brakes so hard that the rear of the car lifted off the ground. My dh of course hit the rear of the car, bounced with his bike backwards and then flipped forward over the handle bars and landed on his head. He suffers a severe concussion, bulging discs in his neck, broken leg, shoulder has separated from his bicep, torn labrum and torn cartilage in his shoulder, his right hand is unusable, due to another tendon tear ect in his hand. The concussion is causing really bad constant migraines, double vision, numbness in his hands and feet. He will be having a brain MRI this week. Thankfully,he is still himself and is alive!!!! Most people would have died or been paralyzed. He's definitely a tough guy!!! Sorry for the extremely long post! Just wanted to get everyone caught up,as well as explain my silence. I don't like complaining! But I highly resent this happening!!! Wtf? MBC wasn't enough?!?!?!
Love and hugs to everyone suffering along my side. I gather much strength from this thread! If anyone knows something about these concussions,I could use all the tips I can get!! It has been over a month since the so called accident. He has yet to show signs of improvement!! Is that normal?
Loving prayers for all ❤️❤️❤️Chelle.

Chelle, OMG! Just keeping you in prayer! Keep us posted.

Lita hoping tomorrow goes well for you and relief is fast
Chelle. OMG really sums it up!!! So happy dh is still alive!!!!! So scary!!!!! Hope he's better quickly!!!
Wendy. You can ask your dr to lower the dose of the allergy mecs prior to treatment. That will help. I also had to have them do that
Linda hoping the slurring repairs itself and that it's just an anomaly
My mo moved up my scans. They're Friday afternoon. I probably won't get the results until Tuesday but it's better than waiting until the end of the month!!!!

LindaE, I am sorry to hear about your new symptoms. I am praying for you and hoping that your symptoms disappear by themselves and that your MRI and scans show no bad news. I wish I had words that could comfort you and ease your fears, but all I can say is that I am here for you. You said you are embarrassed by the slurred speech, but it is nothing you can control so you shouldn't feel that way. Unfortunately , we all have those feelings at time regardless of whether or not we deserve them. I am sending you a big hug. I wish I could give it to you in person.
Lita, good luck with the rads. I hope the SEs aren't too harsh. 80% pain relief will be huge for you.
Chelle, I don't know much about concussions. I know your faith will help you through this very difficult time. I am happy that you have remained stable, but I do worry about you. Stress can take its toll on us in so many ways. Please don't ignore your own health. Get plenty of rest and eat right. My prayers continue for you and your husband.
Babs, I am glad that your scan date was moved up. I hope that you don't have to wait too long for results. We will be there holding your hand.
Prayers and hugs to all of you, Lynne

Thank you ladies. You guys are simply the best!
Chelle OMG! DH is one tough cookie indeed. Sorry I have no input on concussions but hope things turn for the best real soon. And wonderful news on stable! Wishing you another 19 months and another 19 months and again and again.

Chelle - I am so sorry this happened to your family. I believe your husband can recover fully, but my prayers are with you both on the tough road to recovery.
Thank you for checking in! Praying also for boring scans.

Linda, I'm praying there's a non-mets answer for your new symptoms -- maybe something going on with your meds -- even possibly small TIAs? Has your blood pressure been high in recent weeks? Our meds can do that. My BP was often mysteriously high when I was on Ibrance, but appears back to normal now that I'm on something else. I will be virtually holding your hand as you as you wait for answers.
Chelle, my goodness... I am just sorry we didn't know what you've been going through sooner. As you said, your DH sounds like one very tough guy, but I can't imagine what your kids must be going through, worrying about both of you. And I'm curious -- what was the guy who caused the wreck charged with, besides speeding? As far as brain injuries, I just know you sometimes hear of miraculous recoveries, and the key similarities always seems to be time. Brains just take a long time to heal from trauma. Many prayers for much continue healing. I hope you'll update us more often now.

Thank you for all of your supportive responses!! I do feel the strength being sent my way!!!!
Deanna- thank god for a fair judicial system! I would have charged the guy with attempted murder!!! The detectives on the case decided, speeding, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and careless driving with intent to harm. Usually these cases go to a city attorney, for approval of the charges. This one went straight to the D.A.
The man responsible had a fresh tattoo across his chest that says THUG LIFE. He got out of his car and started going off on police.... the "f-ing pig wanted me to stop,so I stopped. F- you pigs ect... proceeded to spit on my unconscious husband. Several witnesses and emergency personnel saw the whole thing. This man thinks only his thug life matters. But truth be told, blue lives matter too. Back the blue please!!!!

Chelle, My heart aches for you, your family, and your dh's fellow police officers. There are not enough words to express how important law enforcement people are to our safety and our lives. The few bad apples are sometimes sensationalized in the headlines, while the thousands and thousands of men and women who are always there for us are overlooked. Sadly, it seems that way generally in our society, negative news sells.

Good question Deanna. BP hasn't been taken in ages. I have a BP machine here at home, I'll start monitoring.

A Very Blessed Easter to all. Holding each of you in prayer as we walk through the SE, the pain, the progression and the suffering our loved ones go through caring for us. Also, extra prayers for those who are caring for sick and injured family members.
Each one of you are very special!

ChelleG - I think you will get justice, even with those charges. No one can look at that situation and not feel sick. We do value our police. The DA will take care of this.

Chelle, OMG what a horrible thing to happen! I am so sorry that this happens in today's world!

Chelle, I'm so sorry for all that you've been through! My Dad was a cop, my brother for a while and my uncle was a Chief. Tell your husband thank you for his service for me! Big hugs to the both of you

Chill, Nice to see you back checking in. My blood is just boiling over your description of that perp. I would love to see them throw away the key. Concussions do take quite awhile but especially with all the other stuff he had happen. When it rains it pours, that's for sure. I'm sure glad to her you are stalbe though, that's huge.
good luck tomorrow babe, thinking of you.

Chelle~ It is just disgusting to think that people behave like that. That was part of my rant, in the anger room. People like that thug you mentioned get to live to be like 90, and we have to fight for every day that we live as good special women who really would knock that thug into next week in a bat of an eye lash. I have nothing but respect for your strong DH, know that I along with everyone else here value every police officer that steps out his front door each day. Every time I see an officer I thank him or her for their service. They put their lives on the line everyday so that we may go about just existing in a normal society. It just seems like the youth coming up in certain areas are just not behaving like normal young children anymore. Wether it's the social media and giving little brains way to much access to not needed visuals, and violence in every television show or article posted online. I will keep you all close in prayer. Please tell hubby it takes a long time to recover from a severe concussion. The headaches can stay with you for good long time. I pray you're both continuing to heal. Also swelling from a bad bang to the head can last months and months. Like a hematoma but inside your head. Bruising takes along time to heal. Swelling can also cause blurry vision and sometimes slurring. My bet is swelling

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum. After misdiagnosed bc, I was finally diagnosed 11 months on by which time it was already invasive. Chemo, radiation, mastectomy and reconstruction were bearable - as long as I believed I was going to get the all clear. However, I learned, only a few weeks after being told I was disease-free, that I have bone mets in my spine with six vertebrae affected. Scans show I have been stable since last summer so am hoping the Zoladex and AI are doing the trick. I have drawn much strength from reading your posts. Sending love and prayers to you all xxx Shabs.

Hi, anyone of you have skull met? the treatment for a skull met is the same as other bone mets?
We dont know if its a met, my mum had her first head scanner and they saw a small lesion in parietal bone, they dont know if its a met.
My mum has mets in pleura and mediastine.
We hope its not a met

Shabs - Welcome. It must be a shock to find yourself here, but many of us are doing well. Zoladex is da bomb for bone mets. Looking forward to having you around for a very long time.
Dvdsp - Bone mets are scary because they are close to the brain, but my understanding is that they are just another bone met. Treated the same. No greater risk of spreading. I hope it is not a met but bone mets are fairly slow moving and probably not a big deal, in the larger scheme of things.
Also, bone mets often only become visible in scans when they are healing. If it is a met, it may not be progression, just a response to the drug. Look for the term "sclerotic" on the scan report.

Dvdsp- I have a skull met and my MO isn't doing anything different as of yet. I have so many other mets I don't think it was as much of a priority as everything else. I get a monthly shot of Xgeva for bones and am also on Ibrance and Faslodex.

Shabs~ I understand what you mean they kept telling me mine was a cyst. So I know how much of a let down that is. I am keeping you all in prayer. I also get a lot of strength and support from the wonderful people here as well. Keep your head up and keep fighting alongside all of us. ~M~
