Prayers Wendy...Don't wait too long to go in.....

Wendy, I'm praying too! Do you have any other symptoms that might indicate why you're running a fever?

Wendy~. I am sending you strength and prayers everyday. I know you will make it to get your chemo, just start it and let it kicks its A*S back down again. They must think it can help or they wouldn't do it. Maybe some small saltines and sipping ginger ale to neutralize your stomach. Please keep the fluids going. You don't want to dehydrate if you're feverish. If you feel badly, please don't wait to go. Make sure that you are taken care of. I will keep you close in prayer. Gentle hugs. ~M~0

Wendy - Interesting. Cancer cells can't deal with elevated body temperature. 39C for a few hours would, frankly, kill cancer. If you can hang in there, this is a good thing. The literature is pretty extensive, but here is just one article. They are typically raising the temperature for 30 to 60 minutes.
Treatment at temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees C is cytotoxic for cells in an environment with a low pO(2) and low pH, conditions that are found specifically within tumor tissue, due to insufficient blood perfusion ... The use of hyperthermia alone has resulted in complete overall response rates of 13%.
I will be visiting Vancouver later this year to pay through the nose for the miraculous treatment you are getting from some nasty bug at this moment. Interestingly, the doctor I will see combines hyperthermia and chemo, I believe. They are complementary.
I am so sorry that you are suffering, but I am fervently praying this fever is doing you some good.
Drink lots of water and make sure someone is keeping a very close eye on you. Please check in periodically. I assure you everyone her is concerned.

So low and behold, after my third round of Xgeva I had a problematic back molar which has been crowned crack right off. When my dentist originally crowned it she left a gap, which I did not know until my hygienist mentioned that there was a small cavity in the crack. My dentist had to pry off the crown and replace it. Now a year later it just literally fell out leaving shards of root behind. I know I will have to have the root pulled. I am positively terrified of the osteonecrotic jaw problems that can occur! Anyone have any experience with that?

I forget where the fasting and chemo conversation was, but I know there are a few people on this thread looking at chemo. Personally, I don't do well with fasting. Blood sugar is already low, I pass out at the sight of a needle on a good day. I would not attempt to fasting through IV chemo, but we have some tough ladies here who could pull this off.
Fasting during chemotherapy may offset some side effects of cancer-fighting drugs

Artist~ are we living the same life here ? I also have a cracked molar, from an old cavity. It just fell out of my tooth. I called my onc and the nurse said as long as it's not bone related in my jaw, that just filling the cavity is fine. If itwas like oral surgery or tooth pulling. Then they would have to stop my XGeva shot. Until completed. So much to know having cancer. Never mind all the things we feel. Ugh! Go away crazy cancer. We hate you! ~M~
Always in my thoughts you ladies are !

Artist, I am with you on the worry of the dental work with XGeva. Hoping they will allow you to get off for a few months to get that tooth taken care of. Hugs!!!

Thank you so much ladies I'm feeling the love😍 .
Gracie I wish you all the luck at the cardiologist looking forward to hearing good news.
So they fast tracked me for chemo I'm at the hospital as we speak. I swore against chemo for two years and now I'm here , such a hypocrite. I guess we do what we much eh?
Z when you come up to Vancouver are you seeing Adam McLeod? He is a big name here in alternative cancer therapy. Once I get this beast down I will follow in your footsteps. We HAVE to meet up for whatever you have time for.😊 I'll be the one in the funny wig

Wendy. You're right we do what we must to keep this beast from getting the best of us. Last go round with chemo I never wore my wig. I rocked scarves around my head. This time because I work for à hair restoration specialist I have to wear the wig even though I prefer scarves. But if I didn't work I'd go crazy- would have too much time to go to the dark place! If you want to pm me at any time feel free. One word before you start Taxol you can always have them dial down the steroids and Claritin if they effect you too much- I had to!
Gracie- good luck at the cardiologist!
I see my mo tomorrow. I'm due for scans but didn't want to plan it until after my DD wedding. No excuses now!!! Ugh!!!

Wendy, I am glad they moved up you date for chemo. I hope you see good results QUICKLY. You are no hypocrite. It is easy to look at things from afar and make judgements or decisions when they don't really affect us. It is quite another matter to look reality in the eye and feel the full impact of what that decision means and how the actions taken can positively affect us as individuals as well as those we love. Sometimes things that once seemed ugly and repulsive are seen in a new light. Chemo is a treatment that has proven positive value. You are doing the right thing. You still have a lot of living to do.
Sending you love and hugsand keeping you in my prayers.

Good to see your post Wendy. Obviously, the fever is better.
I just love your spirit. In the middle of all of this, it is one's ATTITUDE that makes the difference, and you are a great example of that.
Can't wait to see the picture of you in the "funny wig".

Thanks everybody! They did an echo, are scheduling me for a stress test and will wear a monitor for thirty days. The cardiologist was very nice, and said considering everything that has happened he would like to just make sure that there is no problem with my heart. The thing that he was more concerned about thanthe low heart rate was the lightheadedness when I stand up, and the problem that I'm having at night breathing when I try to go to sleep. So won't have an answer immediately but will let you all know what I find out.

Gracie, if it's not one thing it's another with this damn disease.
One of the unfortunate se's of chemo is possible heart damage.
Two of my brothers already have Stage 3 congestive heart failure, so it kinda runs in our family. Dr is taking that knowledge very seriously when it comes to me. Been told that any dizziness, breathing issues, rhythm issues and BP stuff must be looked into immediately.
Prayers and fingers crossed for you.
