I don't have any tumors they could easily resect either....but what about an active cancer-filled lymph node? Wonder if they could work with that?
I'm excited about immunotherapy as well.
Hopefully we can all hang around until we can get into a trial that will do something. Stanford is working on immunotherapies for cancers besides skin and lung (which they've had success with).

I'm reeling tonight. My son talked to me about his wife getting her masters, which would be wonderful for their family because then she could be a nurse practitioner. I would be very happy for them! But then he says they are thinking of moving. Jeez. They would want me to move with them. Which is wonderful. But this is home! I've lived in this house since before my son was born. I'm fourth generation on both my mom and dads side in this little town. I don't know if I can do this. Not being melodramatic, but honest. But if I don't go, (and it's not set in stone), I truly would be all alone. I'm thinking geez...I'm fighting this cancer for this??? Reeling.

I hear you, Lita - thank god for Game of Thrones for getting me through the last few weeks.
The way the NIH works is that you approach the immunotherapy group and they screen you for all their immunotherapy trials. I am excited about the Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes trial in particually, but they have many going on. You want to get into their system in advance as it takes weeks for them to do the medical evaluation of you and then the review, etc.

So the rule here is: If i check often, there are few posts, when I am away, i have to read 3 pages to catch up. It's like changing lanes on the road. Doesn't fail.
I sent an email to NIH we shall see if they will answer. And I called Wiesenthal. Now, for every chemo they try they charge $2500.00 it could go up to 8800.00, they will need to share tissue with the biopsy that will be hopefully done to check on PDL1 for the immunotherapy in the future.
I asked her to give me concrete numbers of success, she said she cannot, because doctors don't cooperate with them, and therefore they don't get much feedback. Hmmm that was a little shocking, because they have been around a while. So that's gonna be quite a call. Some of the problem is that even if it works on a certain cell in the petri dish it may not necessarily work on the person.
Thanks Z for the feedback. It could have been a show out of Twilight Zone.
Hope everyone is coming along.

Haha babs, I ended up dumping all my yard sale $1 bills into slots while I people watched. Lost around $50! But the hotel was fabulous as was the concert. Nice little getaway. I'm glad they didn't find anything alarming with the back pain but still aggravating that they don't have an answer for you. I hope the gemzar kicks in soon too. elevated TM's makes me crazy with nerves....
micmil, Jeeeeezzzzzz honestly, do these people think about what they do to people like us? I'm glad they at least figured it out and came through. Z always has such a good grip on the latest stuff though so her comment about Ibrance being on the way out is a very good point.
Anita you really should enter some of your photos! You have such a great eye and catch some great shots. Newfoundland sounds fabulous. We'll look forward to more!
Kaption and Linda, How are you ladies doing?
Lita, I hope you find a good acupuncturist. I have never tried one but will someday soon.
Curious and Z, I wish I could keep up on all the research and drugs and centers on the cutting edge. Between work and life I just can't seem to delve into it enough. But always feel so far behind. I so appreciate your diligence and intelligence benefiting us all.
mom, you are a force to admire...

Thank you Artistatheart. You know how artists are, they never feel their work is good enough. I'm happy you enjoy them. Living and photographing nature has kept my sanity since I first started with BC in 2008. I loved you blue flowers you posted. That was really beautiful. Today is a sad day for me as well as all of us. I just read Louis' thread on liver mets and he lost KD. This hit me pretty hard!! I had high hopes she would recover. Here is a photo I took Sunday, maybe it will help brighten up the darkness we all have lurking in the back of our mind. Hope all of you ladies are doing ok despite the daily struggles we all face. Thank you all for being here for me, I couldn't cope if I didn't have all of your encouragement and knowledge!
Hugs to all,
Anita

I feel so sick right now learning of sweet KD's passing. There really are no words to offer dear Louis. I hate this disease and a prince like Louis does NOT deserve this at all she was his princess and none of this is fair at all. As I sit here in tears wishing all his pain away. I know she is in heaven reading all of our posts knowing we lost a sister today, and she has wings and now can fly wherever her fully functional body can fly free with no pain. God bless you Louis and KD ๐ญ๐ฉ my heart isn't whole anymore. All of this is just too much to bare. Sweet gentle hugs my friend. We will miss your strength and beauty, Louis you are loved and we hold you in prayer and thought to gain the strength needed to go on! She is a blessing and always will be, ~M~

Artist,
I'm slowly regaining some stamina. Last night I had a strong dizzy spell and my left hip is hurting. But, I'm better this morning. Think I did too much sitting yesterday.
You photographers are inspiring me to get back st it. I did quite a bit a few years ago, even produced cards and prints and sold some. You are sending me a message! It would be good for me.

MomATT - Thanks for sharing the latest info on Weisenthal. There is no slam dunk.
Heading over to the liver channel to stare down the bad news. Will grab a box of Kleenex first. I hate this.

taking it easy today, a rainy day again in the Neast. DH and I are going to a nice lunch. For my 47th birthday. My second with this horrible cancer. I wish I could wake up and we would all be cured!!! Hugs everyone. ~M~
Prayers with the families and victims of Manchester, kinda gives you pause, even though we have cancer , we can try to fight but those innocent people couldn't with such evil loser violence. God bless those families. ~M~

Just to brighten everyone's day. I think we are all so sadden about KD. I sure wish I was young again like this very new little Giraffe I took in Namibia, Africa. Hope it brightens everyone's day despite all of our worries, tests, scans, etc. Anita "aks" PHOTOGIRL.

Summer has finally arrived in Vancouver yippee, funny how the heart is lighter when we have some sun and the flowers are all in full bloom. I hope everyone is enjoying this special time of year. Just walked the dog through a park and I noticed a man doing some tree bathing (Japanese term) such a wonderful thing.
Scan next week๐ I refuse to get all bent out of shape about it this time though I can do all I can the rest I won't worry about.
Linda how is it going for you on Taxol
