I wanted to share one of my favorite sea birds that I took at Cape Mary's Ecological Reserve. These are a sea bird called a Gannet. They come to nest and then after chicks are old enough they go back to sea for another year. These two Gannets are performing their courtship. Nature is so amazing, I thought it would make everyone smile today. Newfoundland, CA. June 13, 2017. Hugs to all! Anita

Thank you Babs. My favorite thing to do is photograph birds and wildlife. I'm not a professional by any means but every once in a while I get a good one. When I'm focused on taking photos I forget all my troubles. It's great therapy for me. Glad you liked it. Thought it would brighten everyone's day!

Thank you Lynnwood1960 and Kaption. I stopped for a few months just because I was feeling sorry for my self but decided this is what I love and the intense focus when photographing just puts me in a different world. Hard to explain but I find myself peaceful not thinking of anything else. Thanks again

    Thank you Lynne and Micmel,

I try to focus and it's like therapy for me. Brings out the happiness of the world around us, puts a smile on our faces despite our reality. Focusing on these beautiful creatures make all my mental anguish disappear.

Lynne, I do have people ask me if I sell these photos but as an amateur I always feel funny. Sometimes I get a lucky shot!

Okay ladies in the Bones Mets Thread. I am just about to start full SKULL radiation. Have any of you every heard of that? My cancer has just jumped from my skull mets and into 2 of the 3 linings near my brain. My Radiation Onc says this is highly specialized....just wondering if anyone had heard about this before....

Ya babs! glad the first infusion went well. If you have already had a port you can't get it back? Hope the SE's are nonexistent.

Anita, that photo is stunning! Looks like a National Geo shot.

micmil, So glad the sun is shining!

Patty, Have a great mini-vaca. Getting away is glorious no matter where.

I thought I had remembered my breast surgeon tell me that you can only have a port inserted one time on any given side, therefore I chose to not have mine removed . Anytime I need blood work drawn, they access my port, because my veins are so bad from the chemo. I don't really enjoy having it, i actually hate it, but Then again I hate a lot of things these days. But it feels like my third eye. It does make it easier and i don't think my veins could take it otherwise. None of this easy! But we gotta try!! ~M~

Anita, what a beautiful picture. Thank you for sharing.

Patty, enjoy your time away. A mini vacation with your boys will be a very special time.

Davenport, sending prayers your way. Will be interested in hearing your experiences with the skull radiation as I also have skull mets. My onco assured me that skull mets do not leave the bone....I think your situation changes my thinking on that. How did they discover the progression?

Thanks Lita. Most of your suggestions I already do except for the Benedryl. Too late now! I usually don't have too much trouble, but I will take your suggestions to heart tomorrow. Hopefully I will feel good enough to push through. I will be riding my scooter as my DH is sure I will be too tired to walk. He is probably right.

But a funny thing happened during my infusion. The nurse informed me I was due for my annual mammogram...what? She was obviously new. I informed her I was due for a PET scan early August to monitor the tumors. Thought you could use a laugh (cancer humor).

into~Good grief!!! Read patients file much?? I am sorry you had to hear that. Although you handled it beautifully, I would want to kick her in the shin. I know it wasn't on purpose or anything but they still need to read first and talk later. Sometimes I am so sick of people. Hugs! Lol who would have ever thought there could be ligit cancer humor!! But you have apparantly found some of it!! Thanks for sharing! ~M~

Artista. I don't know if I can or can't get another port. I prefer not to have one due to my vanity. I hated how it looked but loved having it when I initially did. I'll hold out as long as I can

Patty have a great mini vacation!!'nn

    Davenport,

I'm interested in what is happening to you. I also have skull mets and a brain lesion near my right eye was found in February. The skull mets are not related to the lesion. The lesion is also in a lining. I had radiation to that lesion in March. They are watching it closely. The lining mets are very difficult to find info on. There is a brain mets board here. I also recommend the web site brainmetsbc.org for a good overview.

    Lilimae so happy for you

Chelle you've been through so much -glad it was "just" a virus. Good luck on DH surgeries, how is his mood?

Gracie so glad for your results

Lynne just read about your results, FANTASTIC!!!!! Flying nun FANTASTIC. Gosh I loved that show. So happy for ya, you had a tough year, good to know you have some good stuff now. REJOICE!!!

    Granny good for you!

Lita we are vicariously living through you. What a beautiful trip. Thanks for sharing.

Babs how precious are these princesses? So cute, yes it's very hard to have a difficult relationship with in laws. Back when, before the smart phones, I know someone she would take pictures of e/t she did then put it in an album, and give it to her grandchildren when she got to see them, because DIL did not let her spend time with them. Babs, so glad you are getting the treatment going. D refuses to put in a port again, they did ask her, but she says it's a constant reminder, so she is poked everywhere.

Dianne how are you feeling now?

Intolight just horrible, like asking my DD in her early 30's and even in her late 20's where it should say clearly in the charts she has had an oophorectomy/Hysto - IF she is pregnant, oh Lordy Lord, I just can't!!! They should know better.

Davenport, Kaption gave you good advice, the brain thread is very helpful. D had rads to the skull, and to the Dura because it was thinning out, is that where your lesions are? It's a very sensitive area, you have to get good RO, but they do a great job. It's extremely precise.

My problem is that I like to get updated before I post, and that takes time. So I mess myself up. So sorry I did not communicate, I am kinda how shall we say, exhausted. You know, the adrenaline was going we were going in to see docs every day, I even went with my DH to see her Onco and get the nitty gritty because she was just too exhausted to go. But this week I kinda let go, so I am hoping this night with some good sleeping pills and the weekend coming, I WILL get back to myself. For sure.

Dani is doing well. She is now going once a week. Patty, waving right back at ya, she is planning also a 2 night trip with the girls, it's gonna be awesome, they gonna go water rafting, yep!!, hope it's ok for her with bone mets, and broken ribs, but this time she wants to do it. And I shall pray!

Thank you all, I know how much we care for each other, and I am sorry if I kept you in suspense. Babs told me, you better let everyone know you are ok. And thanks Z and Curious for literally holding my hand through this horrendous anxious stage. Let's see if something good comes out of this trial, and others could benefit also. We don't have any biopsy results yet.

For the newcomers, you got excellent advice, there is much work and hope out there. To all wonderful ladies, I ready your posts, and keep you mind all of the time, you guys rock!

MomATT, good to hear from you!

IntoLight...I had a similar experience...I kept getting POSTCARDS and EMAILS reminding me to go in for another annual mammo. What the heck? Turns out all those mammos NEVER spotted my St 4 cancer in the first place. I emailed my PCP, and she said they are automatically generated. At my last appt with MO, she saw it in the computer and apologized. She said she would contact patient services on my behalf and have it removed.

Talk about adding insult to injury...
