Welcome Baywitch! I always tell newbies that they will learn more here then any doctor can ever tell you. Great ladies here full of advice, tips and information.

50sgirl - Here's what I'm reading ... " KISQALI® (pronounced kiss-cali) (ribociclib) is a prescription medicine used in combination with a certain type of medicine as the first hormonal-based therapy to treat women who have gone through menopause with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic)." I believe it was approved here in March, so we'll see how it goes. Very tolerable so far.

Thank you, Kathy. I have read a lot about Kisqali, but I never knew how to actually say the name. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I have heard very positive results for Kisqali in clinical trials. It is encouraging to see so many new drugs being developed and approved during the past several years. Have your blood counts remained stable?

Welcome Kathy. Sorry you find yourself here but, as you have already discovered, these ladies have a wealth of information and support to offer.

Swess, it sounds like you have made a good decision for you and I doubt very much if your doctor will disagree. As I mentioned in my earlier response to you, the whole issue of work is very complex. For some, it's best to stop work right away but for others, like myself, it's a bit harder to step away. Ultimately, we all have to create a plan that will give us the space we need to look after ourselves.

In my case, we're recruiting a manager to report to me in an attempt to give me more of that space while I continue to work. It's my hope that once that person is hired I can drop back to 3 or 4 days per week. While generally I am doing well, fatigue is also an issue for me. Definitely need to figure out how to lighten the load before I drop!

Aurora, I am so sorry to hear your news. Were you injured during the fall? I hope they are able to treat the brain mets quickly and that you and your MO find a new treatment plan that knocks down all your mets. I hope you are home soon. I am lifting you up in prayer.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Eh ... red count could be a little better, but I'm not sure it was ever really good even before this diagnosis. Only had two blood tests since starting treatment and it has come up slightly since the first one, so I'm hoping. Otherwise seems ok. My biggest issue so far is keeping hydrated. I have never really been a water drinker. In fact, I rarely feel thirsty, so I have to force myself to drink. Wish I could find something a little more appetizing.

    hi ladies

I am feeling pain to the right side of my ribs and to the back as well. Not sure if it’s from my attempt to work out 3 days ago. I feel like I pulled a muscle. It hurts a lot when I move, sit or attempt to lie down. But once i get on a good position the pain goes away.

Not sure if this sounds like bone or liver pain to you. I do have small lesions in these sites.

    Thank you!

    Thereis

Thank you for your caring thoughts! I didn’t break anything but it’s definitely cancer mets in the Brain our of the hospital to celebrate what could be the last Christmas Eve with the family. Will have high dose radiation to brain next week.

Whew, lots going on with my bone met friends. I've been putting in extra prayers this holiday season for all of us on these boards.

Kathy, sorry you're here but glad you found us here in the land between DeNile and the Real Deal. Sounds like you've hit on a good formula with minimal SE's.t

Aurora, glad you're home in time to spend the holidays with family. Take care and save your strength for this next phase. There are many hands yet to play in this weird game.

Thereis, muscle pain in your right side could be anything or nothing. Depending on what meds you're on, it could be SE's, or you pulled a muscle from your workout as you said. Give it a few days and if you don't get relief, email your doctor. In the meantime, try heat or ice for comfort. Good luck and let us know how you're doing and what treatment you're on.

Aurora. Sending good thoughts and gentle hugs.

Leapfrog wishing you a wonderful Christmas with your son. I had an early celebration at my house yesterday with all my sons wives and grands and my siblings and their families . It was fun. I had food catered and really enjoyed it . Why did it take mets to get me to order out instead of spending days in the kitchen preparing.

Wishing you all relief from your pain and peaceful days with your family.

Happy Holidays to everyone out there!

Has ANYONE heard from PattyPeppermint here lately? I'm really worried about her. She last posted in mid-September...that was THREE months ago. I know she was having some difficulties.

Wishing you peace and joy this season,

    Lita

Today has certainly been a mixed bag of emotions. We had my grandsons Bris where he was named. The first name in English is Anton after my husband. In Hebrew he is named after my SIL father The middle name is Albert after my SIL grandpa. So sweet

Tonight I got a call that my Dad is really not doing well. He is 96 and I think his passing is imminent

    Life’s ebbs and flows
