Terre, I'd love to visit New Zealand! It looks like such a spectacularly beautiful country! Are you from there, or did you move there from somewhere else?0 -
RangerMom, thanks for sharing such a wonderful photo of you and your grandson! There is so much love just oozing out of that photo, enough for the whole world to share!!! Such a blessing despite so much other stuff going on that isn't so good.0 -
Come on over Mary! I moved here from the US five years ago (married a Kiwi guy). And it's been a great place to live. Really beautiful country. I live in a small village north of Wellington and work in Wellington. We're about a mile from the beach. If you come over the NZ, you're welcome to stay with us if you don't mind cats! It's beyond pretty here; one of our friends from Australia came to visit for some mountain biking. After 3 days, he said (tongue in cheek) "how much pretty can you stand?" Right now it's spring and there's baby lambs and calves about, as well as baby birds. The flowers are blooming and it's getting warm. The best weather is in Feb/March.0 -
Beautiful picture, Rangermom. I hope you are getting more visits from the little guy and feeling stronger each day!0 -
Rangermom - Thanks for sharing the picture of you and your grandson. He's beautiful! As the others have said, you look pretty good too! I'm glad to hear you are recuperating and will keep you in my prayers that things continue to improve. Enjoy that baby boy!
Terre - I'm glad to hear about your upcoming scan - it'll be nice to have the results before the holidays.
Love and hugs to all,

RangerMom, that photo did me a lot of good just to see all that love and energy. Hope that baby continues to fill your life with joy!0 -
Rangermom,
I am so thrilled to hear from you. The picture of you and your grandbaby is precious! That is my dream to reach that stage (a challenge since my oldest is only 19 with his very first girlfriend so ... I don't know but that is what I want). So glad you got some relief from the surgery and that you will be walking again. I find this quote from A A Milne very inspiring - helps me with my "grit". Hope you do too."Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."

Janet, what a great quote! I'm a Winnie the Pooh fan, but I've never seen that quote before. Very inspiring.0 -
safety first,
We are sorry to welcome you, but we are a great and supportive group. Sadly, lowrider54 passed away about a year ago. That's the downside to our group, but the support and friendships are worth it. Before responding to a post, check the date of it. If it's an old post, the poster may have passed or if it's the final post in a thread, the topic may be dormant or the poster is no longer checking bco.0 -
Of course I have more questions. Does anyone have a clue what comes after AC, I will have my 6th treatment in 2 weeks, Onc has not told me whats next and I was just wanting a heads up. Also Does anyone feel like there tongue is raw? Usually it waits a week or so after treatments but this one it started right after treatment. Just curious,! Thanks for all of you help and support.0 -
Redroan, after my AC I had Taxol, Arimidex, continuing monthly zometa. And it sounds like you're having some oral yeast problems. I had that feeling plus felt like cuts in the corners of my mouth. Used salt and soda mouth rinses, nystatin swish and swallow, and nystatin cream on my mouth corners. We are each fearfully and wonderfully made, praying that you and your MO have just the right treatments .

ADJ, Thank you for you information. I had not even thought of yeast. ! I was on arimedex initially when diagnosed and it quit working so don't know if he will go there or not, Only time will tell. See ONC in a week and a half. Thanks Redroan0 -
ranger...LOVE that pic!!! He looks like he's looking right into your soul and sending healing vibes!! great work on your rehab....bet you'll be home faster than most patients with all your hard work and determination! prayers for continued healing, pain relief, and snuggle time!!0 -
Redroan ask your onc about B12 supplement for your sore corners of the mouth. That is what my onc suggested and it worked for me.0 -

have any of you ladies had mets to a lymph node? if so, did you notice any discomfort in the area. I get occasional mild aching for a second or two in the general region (but it's also near where my bra hits and near my mastectomy region). i have had a stable metastatic lymph node that has remained relatively unchanged over the past 10 months, with my most recent PET scan two months ago. i think I always had some mild discomfort there but hadn't given it much thought until recently. was trying to do google research (not good, I know!) to see if mild pain in the area meant anything like it was growing or spreading, etc. anyone experience this? thank you!0 -
Rangermom,
I have searched for you and just found you tonight! I love the pic of you and your beautiful grandson!! You look pretty yourself!!! So sorry that you've had to have surgery but you sound very happy and positive about your progress and of course the new baby!!
Hi to all on this site! Have a great night!!

Rosevalley,
That is the kind of pain I had been having for months! It was absolutely awful! One doctor diagnosed it as bursitis, but when I went to a different doc later on, he sent me in for an MRI which showed that I had metastases in my left hip. Thus starts the process again......anyway, I am scheduled for 10 rounds of radiation on the hip. I have done 3 so far, and I am amazed at the reduction in pain! I have been sleeping on my back, with two huge pillows under my knees, for about six months. Last night, I was actually able to roll over and sleep on my side for awhile!
I sincerely hope you find some relief soon!0 -
Thanks, Nicky!
CJRT - I have similar aches in my underarm/next to the scar, etc. They've been there since the surgery, but seem to get worse from time to time. And I wonder about the same thing. I'm seeing my MO on Wednesday and am going to ask him. I'll let you know what he says.0 -
there I did it. I changed my siggy. would have prefered to just say bone shit or crap. hate saying stage 4.
0 -
