I know what you mean. He ended up a tall lanky long-legged guy in a family of short, compact people. He opens one of my family albums and sees himself all over it. He talks like them, though. Raised with two psychologist parents he always seems to talk around things, where I am very direct.

No, that's just how he talks. Around the edges. I've tried to figure it out, but all I can think is, this is how psychologists talk.

Good morning hermits- glad to have a day off! Slept in a bit which felt great. I have been having to get up at 5 a.m. for a couple weeks now with the go live and lets just say, I am NOT a morning person! I have had some problems with my project team the past couple days that has just left me angry and ready to finish this contract. Fortunately, I will be done soon!

Going to get some things done around home this morning and then going off this afternoon to play. Temps are warming up and it should be up to 75 degrees today after the recent cold snap.

My sister lives in southern Cali and said it was over 100 degrees there  yesterday. Go figure!

Blondie- I hope you are doing okay with the recent round of chemo. Thinking of you.

Cami- hope you are doing well too.

Mag- I hope you have a great visit with your son!

Teka- what is blooming in the garden today?

More later hermits. Wishing everyone here a good day! Smile

Back at ya Jazz. Wish I could come work the go live with you.....LOL......

Speaking of work. A group of nurses from A hospital in another state came the unit I work to get some grass root ideas about a certain aspect of care we provide. It was so refreshing to speak with these nurses. We shared ideas, experiences and questioned many aspects of care we share or do not. Found myself asking if I could come work with them...they were so excited too. Later a couple of peers asked if they were way behind...considering the state they were from. I said NO! Seems they may be ahead in some areas and having the same growing pains and shared concerns and professional experiences we are having.

I actually looked on their website last night for a casual position. HAHAHA. My cousin is a professor at the University the hospital is associated with. I could stay at her house and drive in with her to work. Because I have so much time.....Anywho...

xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo to all of the fine ladies here and Mag...enjoy that visit girl......

Teka...I have never been a Big girl but this morning I would take Double D cups of Java...

    ;)

Piper- isn't it great to work with other orgs and share ideas? My current client site is notorious for bringing in many consultants and not listening to anyone. Lately, they seem to be taking more of my advice though. Perhaps because they know I am leaving soon!

And I am not sure you would want to do this go live with me, my billing team is misbehavin' again!

Teka- beautiful irises. One of my fav flowers ever.

Hi, popping in. I was posting with another member. I thought sharing the below information may be helpful to you Winking.

The link www.needymeds.org is to a web site started by a Social Worker and a doc. It is a tricky site to use. The first page leads to a several hundred resource pages. But I think this first page, does not project the wealth that lies beneath. Be patient when following the links within the site. There are sections that are disease and drug specific. The specific page then links to lists of organizations that provide monetary or other types of assistance.

Register first and do the request for assistances form. Reason: the request for assistance form is filed. If you apply to 1 or 20 organizations/companies, the forms don't need to be repeatedly filled out.  The system is designed to pull from the original form. There may be a few particulars that need to be added to a companies/organizations form.

All the pharmaceutical companies have patient assistance programs. All the drug manufactures are listed there

The other way to reach drug manufactures is 1. call the manufactuer patient assistance number(goolge keywords: drug name and manufacturer, then to webpage>>>patient assistance. Very time consuming.

There is so much more on www.needymeds.org. It took a bit of time to wander through the whole site. I've shared a telephone walk through with many friends and relatives. I even called healthcare facilities to tell them about this link.

For completeness, there are many ways to get financial assistance for whatever you need. There are organizations that will do things for you i.e volunteers that buy groceries, drive, install handrails, build wheelchair ramps.

How to find the info besides from the link above?  FIND the SOCIAL WORKER(SW).  It's there job to know these things :)  Talk to all of the following 1. cancer center SW,  2.hospital SW, 3. Insurance companies SW, 4. County SW. 5. church outreach leader.

I requested from my insurance carrier a consult with a SW. That one appointment with the insurance carrier Social Worker, led to grants totaling $10,550. The meeting with the cancer centers SW, led to coverage of neulasta  for $4000.00.

    Teka my love Happy

Oh Jazzy that other post asked if they scared u off---I said nothing scares jazzy, by the way I don't drink at all, but they're so nice and they know it--I admitted right away but I did taste some homemade wine Sunday at my GF's house and it didn't give me a headache and put loads of ice (strong) didn't finish it but it was good. My GF finished it. U'r not the only one that has come there--I think everyone thinks I am a closet party girl who drinks like mad hahaha

Cami- you ARE a party girl! But on a more serious note, I hope you feel better soon. ThumbsUp

Sas- thank you for such good information for us all. You are an angel.

Had a nice conversation with one of my cousins back east. We have a family reunion/anniv. party in RI in July, and my cousin invited me to come stay at their house near the beach on one of the big salt water ponds. Yay! I am cancelling my hotel reservation up in RI, and graciously accepted! Party will be over 100 people with all the siblings, cousins, offspring, etc.

Cami, hoping you begin feeling well real soon.

Jazzy, it looks like your rock garden made it through the snow ... I know you said some of the plants were new.  My container plants made it through a cold snap but we had no snow.  My Carpet Rose, however, is struggling to overcome my pruning.

Oh Jazzy, did you say that some members of your team were creating billing problems.  What stress?  Hopefully that is straightened out by now.

Teka, how was your day out with DH?  My DH and I tried a new Mexican restaurant yesterday.  We like it, and it's close to home.  Of course, I don't think I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant I did not like.

Sandpiper, I used to love trainings that combined teachers from other cities and states.  I always came home excited about something new to try or share.  It was fun thinking of those trainings after reading your post.

Jazzy, so cool about the re-union. Yay, just think out of all the family they chose you. :)

Sally- my project team is part of a larger enterprise program team for a new hospital. I manage the billing team that handles everything related to getting paid (billing, insurance claims, statements, self pay, etc.) Just had some bad behaviors going on this week, not the first time either. Stepping away for a day helped. I will return tomorrow at 7 a.m.

Whew, busy day and never got out to play as expected. I do hope to get to the gym tonight for either yoga or swimming. For you Grey's Anatomy fans, Sandra Oh is leaving the series and tonight is the season finale. I think she may be the last of the original cast (I used to watch it more when it had the original cast). Sort of like how ER evolved, liked that show when George Clooney was on it (Teka's boyfriend). Thought I would mention it for you Grey's Anatomy fans!

I adore her, she has been giving her parents a hard time so she moved in with my dd#2 and is doing fantastic,, my son thought it was just a matter of time before she screwed up, hasn't happened n I think he is mad, some of u remember me talking about her stealing cars, getting high n drinking, she is now 18. Her parents including my son are idiots, her mother didn't want her anymore after 16years so my son took her n she acted oout, now she is with Jamie. Whatever I still adore her. Enough, wish I could sleep. Everybody have a good day tomorrow, Friday is my sick day, later on u in the afternoon. Luv u guys

Good morning. Found out last night our command center going to on call this weekend which for me means NO being in tomorrow for me!

Blondie- I would love to see you guys sometime. This trip is already filled up with family visits, but I do have friends and family in NY, NJ and PA too, so you never know when I may show up back east again!

I hope the prom for your GD goes well. I have several friends whose kids are graduating from highschool this spring and watching the prom pictures of their kids. Great time of the year!

I hope your chemo day is not too bad (hugs to you today).

Have a good friday my peeps!

Teka, the Mexican restaurants I go to may have some spicy food, but I stick to mild offerings.  Once in awhile I will dip chips in the spicier salsa ... on purpose.  My current favorite entree is a chicken enchilada ... I have no idea what is in enchilada sauce besides a tomato base but it gives the tortilla wrapped shredded chicken a wonderful flavor.  Each restaurant seems to make their enchilada sauce a little differently.  I like the subtle differences.

Teka- come out west and have some "new mexican" food sometime! Some of the best eats around. The question here is "red or green?" meaning red or green chili. Love em both, sometimes on different things, sometimes together. Both are called "christmas". Chili can be hot, med or mild. Depends on the year and the crop!

Jazzy, what part of New Mexico? I went to high school in Las Cruces. Remember the Hatch chiles. Yum.

Just got back from 1st oncologist visit. We're going ahead with bmx Monday morning with port placement for chemo. Relieved. Ready to have this part behind me. Did not want to do neoadjuvant chemo although he gave me the option.

Mag- we will be thinking of you on Monday as you prepare for your surgery. It sounds like you have your treatment plan set up post surgery.

I live in north central NM. Hatch chilis are by far the most popular here, but they grow them all up and down the Rio Grande Valley. Nothing better than the smell of roasting chilis in the fall.

Cami- getting nails done! Whoot whoot!

Hope everyone has a good saturday.

    Hi Ladies,

Sorry been gone for a while.  Trying to get everything ready for this week.  Having surgery on Monday and I've been going crazy cleaning since I know my husband won't do much of it while I am laid up for a couple days.  I don't know why, but been going thru this nesting phase, very strange, I didn't go thru this the first time.  I guess I am assuming that right after surgery I will start some sort of treatment plan, not sure which will be first, radiation or chemo.  I so don't want to go thru chemo again, it was really hard the first time.   Anyway, hoping you are all having a great weekend :)
