Dwill- where are you? Are you okay?

Beautiful day here and started trimming the rosemary bushes that got huge with the rains this summer, but the yellow jackets are hanging around them today, and so I decided to move away. I suspect a nest may in the ground underneath one of them.

Love the cartoon with the turkey! Its so true, the stores around here are already putting out Christmas stuff!

Teka- yes, I am careful too. My rosemary bushes have another round of purple blooms and think that is what they are after, but cannot be sure. I got a start today but will go out earlier in the morning to do more work tomorrow as they come out with the heat of the day.

Photo from the front rock garden. Things still in bloom but we will get a freeze soon so I am enjoying the last of my gardens as we head into late fall.

Teka- will you adopt me? I want money and stocking stuffers too!

I do a lot of my Xmas shopping along the way during the year and then pull things out to mail them or package them end of the year. Helps me to give things to people I know they will like. I hate shopping in Nov and Dec so this is my way of avoiding it.

Which reminds me to tell our friends in treatment here, keep your holidays as simple as possible. Let others cook and or do the work to entertain. Holidays are exhausting when you are feeling well, never mind with all the rest, and you want to keep taking good care of you.

Teka-  I would cook for you any time! Although I don't do a lot of cooking since I live alone, I do enjoy making meals that others enjoy.

I always buy myself a Xmas present every year, and something came up yesterday that told me this was it for 2014. Do you know the singer Michael McDonald? He was originally with the Doobie Brothers back in late 70s to early 80s, then he went out on his own and has had a very successful solo career. I used to see him back east and he has been here numerous times the past few years (gone every time).

He is doing a special holiday concert with a special meet and greet session. I bought a ticket and am going and will get to meet him! He is also donating the enter proceeds for his holiday concerts he is doing to a charity called whyHunger.org. I am big into donating to food banks and the like here in town. So many in need. So the whole thing felt like it was good to do. I meet one of my musical heros and also do something for the greater good.

    Now to plan the outfit.....

Onco- yes, he has good hair. Nice blue eyes too. His wife (also a musician) had bc and read about it in an article she wrote for some mag. They interviewed the two of them together.

Teka- my back up laptop is an HP and you will like it!

Did a nice walk down by the river, beautiful foliage right now. Will post some pics later, now off to to the wine and cheese birthday party!

Going to this place during the family thanksgiving visit called the Bosque del Apache. Sandhill cranes come to winter here, and I heard some today during my walk by the river, but have not seen any yet.

Awesome jazzy, i adore him, love the doobie brothers n ne was touring with boz scaggs, didn't  go there, jeans always  4 concerts  4 me

Teka what that mean 4 you?

    jazzygirl Member Posts: 11,974

Teka- yes, my sister is a huge bird lover and always wanted to go to this place. She has never been here during the fall/winter when the wintering birds are here so when I suggested it, she was really excited and the others are too. The cranes have this very unusual sound they make- very primal. We love the sandhill cranes here.

Blondie- oh I saw the special on PBS that he had with Bozz Scaggs and Donald Fagen (of the Steely Dan fame). I would have LOVED to see those three together. They all still sound so good. The music of my time. Yes, jeans to most concerts but not for this one. Photo opps galore! I hope you are feeling better at the end of this weekend too.

Cami, Lil, Mags, Maiden, Bippy, Monis, Onco, and everyone else here, may you have a good week.

Whew- long day and not done yet. Got something I need to write up tonight to give to the new PM for the start up project. I spent two hours with her today and she picked my brain the entire time. My brain feels tired! Lots of meetings tomorrow.

Good morning at personal training. I did something with my upper body and core I could not do at all a month ago. Now I can do it and do it well. I also discovered how strong my legs are today compared to when I began two months ago. Now we are working to bring up the cardio/core work to get burning the fat and excess weight off. That danged fat.

Joann- welcome back. I love that Bozz Scaggs song too!

Teka-  how beautiful. It will be sad to see fall leave.

Onco- our sandhill cranes migrate down from Idaho, so they tell us. I am not sure but they may band them and follow their migration. They seem to know our hummingbirds (now gone) go to Costa Rica for the winter too. I would like to go with them too, to CR that is!

I hope everyone survived monday. How are our friends going through chemo doing?

Blondie- do you remember this from the mid 1980s? Always one of my favorites with Teddy and Whitney. Really nice arrangement and beautiful vocals. Nice fan video remembering these two.

Somehow this thread lost its link on my favorites (one problem with an iPad is, if your finger twitches, there's no predicting the results) and I was having such a bad weekend that I didn't realize it until now. It's been big D with all the cramping fun. Taken more lomotil than I have since round 3. It just won't stop.

I've read everything but my chemo brain isn't actually processing anything. So it may be another week before I can comment intelligently. I can't believe I actually wanted to have this last round. What was I thinking? Oh, right.

Thinking of you Mags ... Hope the big D and cramps stop PDQ.

My iPad and IPhone stopped sharing iMessages yesterday.  Being annoyed by the snafu, I spent many hours trying to fix the situation.  I am not sure I fixed it and am disgusted at myself for letting it take up the day.  I should have been working on bulb planting.

Thinking of you all ... Wishing everyone a happy, unexpected something today.

Not in a good mood here today after having seen my oncologist. According to her, I'll never finish treatment! Feel like I'm doing nothing but living from one appointment to the next!

MOmmy, sorry to hear onc's comment.  You are in my thoughts.

Teka, I too always look forward to spring flowers.  Last year's bulbs rotted ... I plan to plant carefully and water only sparingly when we don't get snow or rain for a long time.

Thanks guys. Don't know what to do right now about this. I feel like crying at this point.

Nope. Just a few spots on the lungs that are so tiny they can't test them to see if they are cancer or not. The recent CT Scan they did showed no sign of the cancer having spread to any other place, just about a half dozen spots on the lungs

mommy it may be your Herceptin status that makes her say that? Can you contact her and ask for clarification?
