Mags- you look really great! I am glad you got out, gives one a sense of feeling normal, at least for a few hours. Those outings do a person good. You really look like you were having a good time. I like that nice smile!

Lily- more inches and % fat vs. muscle so far. My body fat is down by 25% but got replaced with muscle. I have lost a few pounds, but now that the muscle is built up, I am working hard to loose the excess weight. I saw I lost a pound this week.

That part is going to be slow. I remember the oncologists telling me once you go on any of the AI drugs, you have to exercise like 5-6 times a week to loose any weight. So I am ramping up my cardio to that now as we reduce the weight lifting. So more to follow, and yes, she has just been so good for me. We will finish this program on 12/19 with the trainer, and then I will continue on with my own plan, but think I will feel ready to do that by December. Working with a personal trainer makes you very accountable.

I am glad you are doing things to reduce stress. I find things that used to not bother me really do now and any situation that feels too hard, I just limit myself to. For example, my client site is stressful but I only work there 3 times a week and really don't socialize with anyone there outside of work. Only an occasional business dinner. Some people need to be taken in small doses too. I hope the things you are changing give you some feelings of peace.

Hoping everyone is having a peaceful and warm day!

Was pretty cold here today. Did a little shopping for incidentals and got a jump on getting the stuff I need for Thanksgiving only to find out when I got home that I am out of nutmeg for the pumpkin pie. For the rest of the day I just sat and watched my favorite college team win and read a little bit.

Been working on cleaning and laundry, and putting away the last of the patio things for the winter. Mommy, I started digging around for a table cloth and some particular place mats I want to use for Thanksgiving and did find them today!

Heading out to take a short walk and then head to the gym for my cardio bike session and soak in the hot tub.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

mags, looks lovely! So glad you got out. I am never coloring my hair when it grows back and seeing another silver foxy lady is awesome inspiration. I know it is a wig but your pic is real hair? Looks good, whichever.

Jazzy, good info on exercise and your experience in losing weight. I am unable to lose weight right now despite efforts, and despite the SEs! The amount of Big D and calorie deprivation alone, and that I cut out booze, I should be rail thin. The Taxotere is very bloating though and I will be patient. ugh, one more chemo! I also liked the part about working in stress, with difficult people. You are doin it right.

Teka, sorry you are on the DL. Be careful with your arm.

    Blondie, dennys is awesome!

Hermies, be good to yourselves today and hope all are safe and warm out there. I know deep freeze is going on....get your snuggies out

Bippy- you are still going through treatment so you don't need to worry about weight loss right now. I am a year and a half plus out from that and it took me until recently to be able to think about doing what I am doing right now. I did go back to exercising within a few months of finishing rads, but never had the energy to do that much. Mostly swimming and yoga, with some walking thrown in.

The doctors like to encourage us to exercise and keep our weight in check to keep us healthy, but everyone has to decide what that looks like for them. Many women don't feel well enough after treatment to do that much. So let your body get through what it needs to right now and the exercise and all the rest will be there for you down the line. First things first my dear!

When I had both the ruptured appendix and BC surgery in 2012, I lost 40 pounds very quickly. Mostly from having chronic D for a month before and after the abdominal surgery. I gained some of that weight back and the docs told me to just focus on eating high protein, and now I am trying to loose that 20 pounds I put back on and go down further. It's all a process and likely to be a long one at that. Taking the AIs make it very hard to loose weight.

Blondie- Denny's for Xmas breakfast sounds good to me!

Teka- let us know how you are doing today too post microwave disaster?

Wishing everyone a good day. Is the polar vortex here yet?

Now for Teka, why would u  clean u'r microwave, don't do that again, and I hope u'r burn is all right.

It's kind of cold here right now so I'm all covered up. I'm feeling a bit better, but still tired. But I have a few more days on the anti-B's so hopefully they work. BTW my keys are sticking so my tyoing is crap--that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I hoe everyone has a great Sunday rest if u need it and play if u can.

Hermits- decided today what linens to use for my Thanksgiving table. I have not had any sort of gathering or dinner here since before I got sick in 2012. I will be sure to show you a picture of my table once I put it together for the holiday. Having family here will help me to get my entertaining groove back. Well then again, maybe not either.....LOL!

Anyone here watch the Newsroom on HBO with Jeff Daniels? I thought the series ended but it has another season (final?) starting tonight. It's an interesting show and Jeff Daniels is outstanding.

Teka- glad you are doing okay today. Whew!

Mommy- sorry about the sore arm, I hope the pain passes quickly. I get that with tetanus shots.

Cami- sorry about the D. Hope you are feeling better today!

Well I got only the kitchen floor swept and scrubbed because hubby said I shouldn't do so much with my arm being so sore. Now the back is hurting along with the arm! Can't win for beans!

Pain from flu shots stink! I had one last year from the cancer center and my arm never had any pain. Got mine at the pharmacy this year because I won't be going to the cancer center until just before Christmas!

Mommy- it sounds like you did as much as you could with a sore arm. I hope it feels better tomorrow.

Blondie- oh your granddaughter is very young, not even to college yet. I did not realize that. I hope she makes the best decision she can under the circumstances. I am know you are a concerned grandmother. I wish you some nice time by the shore and know you have been looking forward to it for awhile now......

    Teka- finding Big Foot?

I took a lovely end of the day walk down along one of the ditches near the river. Saw some lovely trees, a great sunset and met a nice lady riding her horse and walking another. Morgans, and they were just beautiful. She stopped and talked awhile and I talked to the horses. Wished I had an apple or carrot with me to give them. One started nibbling on my camera bag (LOL)....

Here are some highlights from this afternoon. The walk did me good!

Jazzy your right. Did what I could with my arm hurting. Got the rest of the week to catch up on stuff I was going to do yesterday.

Boy do I feel stupid this morning. While looking in my spice cabinet this morning for something, I found the nutmeg that I thought I was going to have to get for the pumpkin pie on Turkey Day. It was on the top shelf, hidden behind the Baking Powder!Snooze

Ahhhhh...hermits, the poison from infusion five is leaving my body and I feel it! Coffee tastes good, hope to have some zip today.

Jazzy, wanna see your feast laid out! It must be nice to feel able to host....I am sure it will be a lovely gathering.

    Blondie have fun at shore!

    Teka, Mommy, everyone, happy Monday.

Footprints- bronchitis is miserable. As someone with life long asthma, I have always had problems with it. Feel better, get lots of rest (hard to do when coughing constantly....)

Mommy- I am constantly loosing everything, including finding the spices in my pantry. Good that you found it!

Bippy- coffee is one of my few decadent pleasures. Yesterday I went to Starbucks and got some of their Thanksgiving blend, and enjoying some this morning. I love their holiday peppermint mocha, but cannot do anymore due to the high sugar content. I enjoy nice coffee drinks there without sugar though....

Blondie- that is terrible you have to hide things in your home from your family. Those drugs are very dangerous in the wrong hands. Pregnant grand daughter needs to not go there. I think you need to go to the shore and take your stash with you......

Teka-did they find The Bigfoot yet?

Getting ready for another week and long day ahead, starting with a 7 a.m. personal training session (last time we will do one of these, as next week we move to twice a week).

Hope everyone has a good start to the week and hoping those in treatment have as good a week as possible.

Bippy glad to hear that you are enjoying your coffee. While on chemo last year I temporarily lost my taste for hot coffee but could tolerate iced coffees.

Blondie I'm going to jump on here. I've lurked on here for a long, long time. I and I know everyone else on here wish we could fix the problem of your GD stealing your meds. But as a former hospice nurse the only way I know of stopping this in your home is keeping them in a lockbox that only you have the key to. That and you carry the key with you always on your wrist, on neck chain or one of those badge thingies - forgive me I can't remember the correct term. Believe you me I've had to do it with plenty of patients. The box needs to stay with you and if you must keep only a couple of pills by the sink. I doubt GD would have the gumption to steal the entire box but you never know. Bet she is counting on you not being as vigilant as you are and would not take the box. I think when we did this in the past it was no secret it was being locked up. In fact a show of what you are doing would probably put the fear of God into her at least as far as your meds. Yes and Jazzy is right take everything with you. Big tackle box would work fine so long at it has a hasp for a lock. Now about your son's meds I don't know. Is he responsible for taking his own or do you give it out for him? In any case it won't help keeping his safe when you're away. But leaving out only enough to tide him over when you're gone. And you definitely need your time away and I hope you get to the shore. Forgive me for being long winded and if this is something you're already doing we need to brainstorm something else. Love your bunches.

Might as well make me an official hermie. I'm one most of the time anyway.

Welcome, LMG! You know a buch of us already. What is it about hermits and insomnia, anyway?

Blondie, I had a nephew that stole my pain meds, you better believe I stopped keeping them where he could find them. I don't keep any meds in a medicine cabinet. I have them stashed, and put together a week's worth at a time. I have several of those week-sized containers, and I also have a stackable thing that I fill up for the day. Walgreen's has a smart phone app that I set a reminder for my meds and vitamins, so I don't have to remember when to take them, and since they are organized by day, I can tell IF I've taken them. I'm not on as much now as I have been other times, but it's still helpful.

my nephew is also a pill addict. It will be his death any day. Never ever gets off it for long, always goes right back...so sad. I will very likely outlive him.

Just got back from PS. I am numb. Have to get thoughts together, too scattered to post about it. Overwhelming but decisions made. It has been a rough day.

    Night night hermies

Hi Luvmygoats- I know I am on another thread with you, cannot remember which one, but remember you and love your handle. Welcome to our thread! Nice bunch of ladies here.
