Wish I could report I was, Jazzy. I'm in bed at 7 pm with a whole Percocet and ice. Went out to dinner, too much for me.

Mags- sorry you have been down today with ice and pain killers. Was that the dinner with your son who was in the area? Sorry it was too much to do.

Wishing you a better day tomorrow.

No just dinner with DH & cousin. Son arrives Wednesday, leaves Friday.

Mags- well, I hope you are feeling better this week and able to have a visit. Perhaps he can just stop by vs. you having to go meet him anywhere. Sounds like going out for dinner just does not work right now.

He'll be staying here on Thursday night, so we'll have some time. Thanks Jazzy. You're a peach.

Mags- glad I can help. I know you are looking forward to the visit. We need those moments of normalcy in the midst of all this crap.

Good morning hermits- up and getting ready to go to the MO's office again, this time for my Prolia shot. Then I am on to my day.

Mommy- glad you are stocked up. My east coast friends have been telling me about the upcoming storm. I remember the blizzards only too well from when I lived back east. Be safe and hope none of this gets in the way of your planned surgery this week. Do you have to go far for that?

Wishing everyone else a good start to the week.

Nope. The surgical center is just a short trip by car.

People are comparing this blizzard to the one they had here in '78. I wasn't here for that one, I was still in Wisconsin at the time, didn't move out this way until 1980. Hubby and my stepdad remember it though.

Mommy- I was there for that, a senior in high school at the time. It shut everything down for a week. Too much snow, not enough plows, etc.

Fingers crossed it won't hamper your surgery date this week in any way. Glad the center is close by.

    Me too!

Seems like every year in the last few years we are getting hit with at least one whopper of a storm. Last time I think we saw a blizzard was a couple of years ago when one area of Connecticut had 40 inches. I saw 32 inches of snow at my house in that blizzard.

    jazzygirl Member Posts: 11,974

Mommy- we used to have so much snow when I was growing up, then the winters seem to be more mild for awhile, then they got bad right before I moved out west, and the past few years, even worse. Climate change and all that jazz.

Back from the MO's office and a few errands. They told me to be prepared to be achy the next few days possibly from the Prolia shot. I don't have a lot going on this week so I have the bandwidth to lay low if needed. She said the folks that have the infused version usually have more SE's to the drug. Fingers crossed I will be okay, and will keep you posted.

Onco- I would for sure be out in it if I were there! I have had the occasion to do that once out my door here in the almost 19 years I have lived here. When I lived back east, I used to pull out the X-country skiies every time. Why not have fun in the snow?

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm, watch out my NE friends for the snows!

i fell off the board here, been posting to my chemo group and rads board, but not so much. Did a neighbor rant again too. Nothing much going on, started second week of rads today. Tired but ok otherwise. I am trying to get out more and have an actual job interview Wednesday! It is is a totally different field of law nearer to my home, and up a level with some management role. We shall see....anyway, it is nice that someone is actually interested!

I have to catch up reading posts, but hope all are okay.

Hi Bippy- good to hear from you and glad you are getting through the rads. How cool you have a job interview too. It would be nice to have something new to move on to after treatment. Good luck with an offer!

They changed the totals on how much I'm gonna see out of this storm. Now I'm supposed to get 14-22 inches instead of nearly 28 inches. They do this every time we get a snow storm. They make it sound like its going to be bad, but it turns out to be a bust!

Mommy- it sounds like NY and CT got some snow got a foot or less, but that Boston is really getting hammered and will get the brunt of it. I think they were wise to prepare like they did just in case. I think of that Hurricane Sandy and the damage and we are in a time of changing storm intensity, so being prepared is good. If you don't need it, that is good too.

How are you feeling about your surgery this week. Are you sleeping better and ready?

I woke up at 3 a.m. with some body aches and got up to take some ibuprofen, and went back to sleep until almost 8 a.m. (I rarely can sleep that long so it feel so good). I think I am doing a-okay with the Prolia shot so far and will be out and about later today, and going to go to the gym today too.

My sister is so weepy (I don't cry much) and she's saying well we're the older generation and now it's our turn--If she says that one more time, I'm going to slap her in the face with a glove and have a dual so we can both shoot each other. Cami- I am glad to hear from you and no doubt you are feeling blah. It's just a hard, hard week for you and your family. I am not much of a crier either but when my brother died many years ago, I couldn't stop crying for a long time. Hurt down to the depths of my soul. I hope you are taking good care of yourself and that the services go well on Thursday. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Prolia stuff is no biggie. I was out and about today. Thank you for asking!

Lili- you were asking recently about ideas for the cancer gathering you were thinking of doing and if we had any ideas. I remembered that NM has this yearly cancer retreat, which I have not done, but thought was a great concept. Here is the link:

    http://www.cancerservicesnm.org/programs/retreat.p...

You mentioned initially that you wanted to create something where people could go for things like yoga, creative outlets, etc. and this retreat seems to have a section for that.

I have done some international yoga retreats, which are wonderful for restorative purposes and they often have had resources available for people that included massage therapy, counseling support, creating colored maps of what you wanted your life to look like, outings to things of interest in the area, etc. I would think some of these could be beneficial in your gathering you are thinking about.

    I hope this helps!

Got about a foot, if not a little more than that. Eastern side of Connecticut got hammered. My mom in Rhode Island got more than I did. She still coming down though. The trouble I had with sleeping has stopped thankfully. Ready to get this phase the reconstructive process over!

Mommy- glad you are feeling ready for the surgery and that your mom will be arriving as planned. We will be in your pocket tomorrow as you go have your surgery.
