Hi ladies- just getting a chance to check in since I began my latest internal rad treatment process. Reading your posts and want to respond a bit more to a few of you with time.
Whaevah- I am sorry about your mom. My mother passed almost a year ago and also went peacefully too, which I am so grateful for as well. I will say that going through a year like I have had with the health issues, including the bc, on top of grief from my mothers passing has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Do take extra special care of yourself emotionally, so many layers of feelings with all this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I had my procedure today to insert the catheters for the radiation treatment. All went fine, although I have more pain and bruising this time. Got some good meds going for that today, and taking it easy the rest of today. Rad treatments begin next monday for five days, 2X a day.
Going to read more of your posts ride now. The painkillers and valium have me tired and not able to focus for very long. But I wanted to say hi to my fellow Hermits.
Blessings to you all.

Jazzy--I still think you are brave! Best of luck with treatment and recovery.
Camille--I hope you're feeling better. You have put up with so much for so long.
Markat--DH and I looked for more info on the news to see how it all ended, but nothing there. Sad that people sometimes interact so violently with each other. It's all too shocking for me. All the more reason to stay hermiting. Glad your little ones are better!
bgirl--you said a lot. Tired of being tired. When those inserts list endless se's, little do we realize that we'll get hit by a pile of 'em.
Fl--hope the job is doable and you're having a good week! We're having ice storms and "thundersleet"--never heard of it before. Really spooks the kids.
whaevah--hugs continue your way. Give yourself time.
Teka--
Shambles--you ok? Hoping better and better.
Hermits, all--happy Friday. Stay safe and warm.

Wow Jazzy this is quite a procedure u have to go thru---good Luck sounds icky but if it works then it's worth it.
Skittle we're getting some crazy weather too--snow during the nite and I can hear the wind so there say now it won't be so bad--it's always changing here so we'll see in the morning. I purposely made an early Dr, app' to get it over with, so I hope streets are good, then I come home and put a nice clean fuzzy warm long nitegown on for the rest of the day--that's what I'm looking forward too. So I can hermit warm and cozy with my Katie-Kat.
And Jazy take it very easy;
And all the hermits It's going to be Friday very soon, so u can rest a couple of days. Hopefully get a little hermit time in.

I'm glad it's Friday - not that work is hard but just that I'd rather be home with my video games. Heh I am taking off a little early today though as I need to go take another blood test. My MO wants me to have another CT scan but my creatinine keeps coming back slightly high so they keep calling me to drink more water and take another blood test. It's a bit frustrating at this point (though I don't really want the CT scan) as my creatinine is about the same as it's been since before my surgery last year when it was first tested. I'm just slightly above the normal but my numbers all through chemo were hovering right at the top or slightly above normal so it's not like I've had a sudden or drastic change in my numbers.
I wish my toes would just feel better. I'm guessing it's a slight neuropathy though it's not really numbness but rather just my toes hurting some and just not feeling 'right' to me. I've told my MO and the nurses but they said that's just a SE from the chemo and it will go away eventually. I've also gotten some redness and peeling (and possibly blisters) on the one foot which my MO looked at but she said it didn't look like anything serious and to just put something on it if it itches a lot.

Hi ladies- just checking in again this morning post procedure. I had better sleep this time after this procedure. It is really quite the experience, but because I already did it in early Jan on the left side, less unknowns to me this time. I am doing this in another city from where I live and comfy in my hotel room where I can rest and work remote as I wish to. The biggest thing for me is to take it easy but also watch for any signs of infection. My temp was slightly raised this morning (99 F), but is back down to normal again. Rad treatments start monday and also have a med onc apt that day too!
Jinkala-my sister has that same toe thing from her chemo. But it is good to be sure it is not anything more like a diabetic neuropathy. I think chemo toes do go away, but neuropathy stays. My mom had a neuropathy, the first sign of her diabetes, and had it after that for years. I guess I would want to do know from the docs, how long do you wait before you know the root cause of that?
Teka- although I am not one who likes to go out to eat that much, I am on a stint of trying new places in the city where I live and enjoying that. Good food, soaking, and a check in with the hermits sounds like the way to go!
Cami- how are you feeling at the end of this week? Did your test for the D get rescheduled yet?
Skittle- I flew into AZ for my treatment wed afternoon and they had snow, rain and hail here. Something that never happens and the roads were not good. As I drove to the hotel that evening, there was a car in the left lane that got clipped and started spinning. I looked to my left as I sat in stopped traffic and saw the car spinning and was terrified it was coming at me. My guardian angel was with me that night and I was able to move on down the road, but was shook up the rest of the evening. Not a good way to start my medical process, but grateful nothing worse happened. Never heard of thunder sleet before either!
FL Warrior- you and I share the same job craziness. I was glad to get out of the client site on wed and doing some remote work during my time away. It is so hard to deal with a chaotic workplace and go through this stuff at the same time. But I need to work to pay for all I am doing and I try to manage my boundaries with them as best I can.
Okay ladies, TGIF and hoping everyone has something comforting planned for the weekend!

Jazzy - the toe thing started more episodic and coincided with the chemo treatments so I'm pretty sure it's because of that. I never had the classic 'tingling' or 'numbness' but I did have some bad swelling in my feet after the last few chemos and the toe thing seemed related to that.
I've got my diabetes under pretty good control right now and it was only caught through some routine blood tests and not because of any symptoms. I did not test much during my chemo months because my eating was really screwed up (taste and nausea issues) and because the steroids drive blood sugar way up so it was really frustrating.
If my regular doctor wasn't on extended leave, I would probably ask for an appointment but I really don't want to go to someone new unless it feels really urgent. I've mostly been just dealing with my MO and the chemo nurses lately.

Jinkala It does sound like chemo stuff on u'r toes and feet so that is probably it--tho it's aggreating it's another Se that no one wants. Just make sure u always tel the nurses and Dr.s know how u'r feeling and they've seen so much, they usually are on top of things.
Jazzy I'm glad u can relax after treatments and Dr. stuff--it sounds like u need to and reall watch for infections.
My D is on hold for a while my Onc. wants some tests done so it'll have to wait a bit--The Dr. was adorable today and so nice she spent alot of time with me. So I think some of it will be started next week sometime So his Nobel prize will have to wait.
It's cold and windy but the streets are good and as soon as I cam home I got in my snugly long nightgow and cussle all up--I'm in for the day. YYYAAAAYYY or did I tell u that already?? I don't remember.

Ok... I'm dropping off the planet for a while. One of my former students just commited suicide. 15. What kind of world... Just can't wrap my mind around it.

OMG Skittle--What a tradgedy to happen--what could have possibly triggered such a violent act. I am so sorry--for his family and all who knew him. Skittle take u'r time and heal as best as u can. (((HUGS))

Skittle- that is just so sad to hear about your former student. Life is just so unfair and totally unpredictable. Take care of yourself.

Oh, Skittle how tragic. I'm so sorry to hear about your former student. Sometimes it is really hard to be 15. You are not a kid any more, but your not an adult yet either and all of the adolescent changes going on. So sad to loose a teen. My deepest sympathy goes out to you.

Jazzy, hope you are able to rest peacefully and sleep well. Sorry you are in more pain this time. Maybe tomorrow it will be much better. Best wishes to you next week as you have the rad tx.
Jinkala, hopefully your toe tingeling stays just that and does not develop into anything else. I was one of the unlucky ones...I got chemo induced neuropathy known as glove/sock symdrom. I have it in my hands and feet. It comes and goes. I am over a year and half out from last chemo and I just recovered from a terrible episode. I am not diabetic mine is strictly chemo induced...damn cancer!
Hi and hugs to all.
Skittle you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Skittle, I'm sorry ... hard to wrap one's mind around the unexplainable.

Teka thanks for the reminder about the Academy Awards being on Sunday. I have managed to miss all the other award shows so far this year...just forgot to tune in when they were on. (I won't even blame it on chemo-brain ).
The Daytona 500 is a BIG deal here since it is just a short drive across the state (less than 2 hours away). Since Danica has the pole position, I am thinking that she probably won't take the checkered flag, but all eyes will be on her to see what she can do. My soft spot is for Dale Jr.

Good morning fellow hermits:
Nine good hours of sleep, no pain, just a little slo mo today. It is a sunny and warmer day here where I am getting my internal rad treatment, part 2. I have my hotel room door propped open to enjoy the fresh air and been reading on the patio this am. I am hanging out here for awhile then going to do a bit of lite shopping and to get my nails done. A little pampering time today.
Teka- I like the red carpet stuff too. Love to see all designer gowns.
Bgirl- how is your cold?
Markat- everyone recovered from the sickness too at your home?
Skittle- thoughts and prayers with you today. I know this much be a tough weekend for you.
Cami, FL Warrior, Shambles, Jinkala, and all the other hermits, hope you are having a nice saturday so far. I am taking it one day at a time these days myself.

Oh Fashion is what I like--the red carpet stuff- since zi never go to the movies I don't have an opinion on anything just the clothes. so that's fun.
It's chilly here, but sunny so it all good.
Hi everyone--hope u'r day is good.
0 -
Cami- I love the vintage gowns some wear from back in the day the best.
0 -
Jazzy I act like a critic LOL--I love them too, but if they are not fitted properly they don't look right--And u'd think that everyone would have them fitted prfectly but they're not. I also like to see their hair styles some are almost vintage and others are messy, which again I can't fiure out--But there are some that come so beautiful--their make-up , jewelry, everything and I think this is not fair that someone could look so good and then there's me. LOL

LOL my hermit friends! We can have our own best dressed / worst dressed of the Academy Awards! I'm just like you all I like to watch it for the dresses.
Teka, did you see the wreck on the last lap? I was not home, but I saw replay on the news. How awful 28 people in the stands injured. The guy driving the car that went into the fence was really lucky, not being hurt! Amazing. His car disintegrated! Where did Danica finish up? I saw that Tony Stewart snuck through the wreck and took the checkered flag.
Jazzy, hooray! for good sleep and no pain!!!
Skittle, thinking of you.

Good idea FL, of course I'll have to take notes cuz I'll forget pretty quickly, but that'll be fun to do.

Good evening fellow hermits:
I had my first "girly girl" day, as I will call it, in I don't know how long. Since before all this began and with some other health problems last fall that happened at the same time. Went shopping here today for some new spring things and got my nails done too. A divine young man by the name of Kevin massaged my feet and put some pretty mauve polish on my toes. Got my hands done too, little clear polish there. It felt good to do some things to take care of my appearance, which I have not felt much like doing in awhile. I do the mimum required to get by most days.
I think we will all have a fun time talking about the red carpet choices tomorrow night.
I saw that terrible crash today at Daytona on the tv in the nail salon today. I think a lot of people got hurt?
Hoping everyone is having a relaxing evening. Wishing those in a difficult place this weekend better days.
