Thanks JJ, keep the typos coming. I was hoping for a crowd edit. Gotta love Internet publishing compared to hard copy!

Had another Duh moment. With Katy's discussion on cosmetics and personal care products loaded with carcinogens, I have a contact that works with a company that doesn't use offenders. She is one of our own here on BCO. She won't post any info about it b/c of worrying that it goes against BCO rules.
But I think I can give you her contact info. Jenwith4kid….
Traveltext I think this would be a lovely addition to pinktobersucks.com
Plus I didn't see where Katy's posts were transferred. May have missed them.

Yes, sas, we need an article from Katy on the whole cosmetics thing that she has written about in the past. And I'm happy to post material from Jenwith4kids.
Anyone's welcome to contact me through the BCO or via the email on the pinktobersucks.com contact page. There's lots of scope, and unlimited space. The site will be crankin' by October 2016!
Here's the official tshirt design.

TravelT --great shirt. The message is loud and clear. Katy's article link is in the topic box above. You can PM her, but I believe she gave permission to copy.

Whoops! sorry sas! Fixed - - for future newbies!
I'll try to come up with something you can put on pinktober with regard to products but I bet Katie has covered it.
Travel - would you be willing to post a link to the company? The Anderson family is so passionate about the topic and we are still a relatively small company, we'd love the exposure. Our team of consultants might be small, but we have big mouths! LOL. There are several ways you could mention it. My personal link is www.non-toxic-now.com, the company site is www.avaandersonnontoxic.com and the specific blog post on the topic is www.avaandersonstories.com/we-cant-waste-another-o....

JB. Your article is now online HERE.
JW4K. We plan to have a page with links to recommended products. Plus, perhaps, products to avoid. For now, if you'd like to write me an article with information on the company which includes an embedded link, I will put it online.

sorry I don't know how to do links. This woman is in with Estée Lauder on this campaign. BCA. Just saw this.

Here is a link to Sppokie's story
Thanks for this, Spookiesmom!
I like the concept of making this an intelligent fight 365 days a year and not just the thoughtless October pink barrage.
My concerns are her ties with Lauder ( she's a supermodel and Lauder gave her her very first big break)
Still talking about awareness. I think we need to move on from this.
She is marketing two shades of Estée Lauder lipstick (who knows how safe- bet you anything they have "fragrance") and I'm sick of people selling things to raise money. Just raise money!
I read another article where she was quoting high 90% (as in above 95%) survival rates for early detection. I'm also sick if this misleading statistic that must include DCIS and only counts 5 years of survival. Dangerously misleading and definitely takes the edge off the sense of urgency.
If anyone is in the mood for a New Years Goal, a letter to her thanking her for her efforts but gently correcting some facts, she is a highly visible celebrity, who though has not suffered BC herself, lost her grandmother to it. I think her attitude is well meaning but antiquated. Like many.
As TheDivineMrsM has said, gentle reminders are probably best in cases like these.
Her 365 day idea is great.
The other stuff, not so great.
And for the millionth time. Awareness is no longer the problem. With 1 in 8 getting BC in their lives (notcounting the even more underrepresented issue for male BC) and rising, it's hard to believe anyone in this country is not aware. But the incorrect survival rates and marketing do a disservice to us all.

I'm still trying to figure out the whole "1 in 8" statistic. Off the top of my head, I know of 13(!) other women, besides me, who have been diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in time.

Spookiesmom and JB. I think the article is worth posting on our articles page, since the 365-day argument deserves a run. We may not all agree with everything everyone posts on the site, but we want to be sure that we're not excluding good points being raised.
I like JB's idea get in touch with Liz and correct some facts in her argument. And send her a link to our site as well.
Happy to hear from others on this one.

It's up HERE.
Interestingly, BCA is asking for pics or stories HERE from people with breast cancer. They say:
"Join The BCA Campaign's global community—upload a photo, video or message that showcases how you take action in the fight against breast cancer.
Every action counts, and can make a difference."Entries close 31 December, so there's still time to submit material that expresses some of the feelings expressed in this BCO thread.

Well, this ought to get interesting. Seems Estee lauder has grabbed Breast Cancer Actions acronymn. BCA. If I have time I'll call them and see if they are doing anything about it. If someone else wants to call, fine with me

Sas- I noticed that earlier when I was reading the Liz H stuff. It annoyed me. I'm betting it's annoying them too. But remember, these are the people who stole the original breast cancer ribbon. Not nice

JB yup, thought of that too LOL. Like minds I think BCA will be all over it. As an organization they are all into legal stuff i.e. getting briefs written to support Supreme Court cases. They were a big factor in the Myriad paten case.

Just heard Holley Kitchen has passed. She had done an amazing video on MBC. Might be on YouTube. I wonder if there's a way to incorporate it into your site? Or use it somehow
