Grazy, beautiful! Almost too pretty to cut. Don't you just love cake for breakfast? That was always my favorite time to eat cake, even when I was little. (My mom rationalized that there was little different between regular cake and coffee cake which was completely acceptable!) And with yours, you get fruit as well!!!

Dara, there's so much sugar and butter in that thing, but it's, oh, so good Smile

Grazy, how wonderful that you sailed through your Zometa infusion! The cake is beautiful! Bet it tasted even yummier. Who cares about sugar and butter? And who made up that rule that cake was for dessert in the evening? Bah!

Poodles, Sounds like you had the granddaddy of all cords, glad it is better and you aren't in pain anymore.  Cording or AWS didn't occur to me either but when I told the BS that I had range of motion issues, she immediately sent me to the Physical Therapist who told me I had cording.  Then I googled it and looked it up and was amazed at how much they don't know about it.  I was glad to get rid of mine too.  As to your numbness, have you had your B12 tested.  I have mild neuropathy from Taxol and when it started to get worse about 3 months after chemo stopped, the MO ordered up a bunch of blood tests.  Turned out I had borderline deficiency in B 12 which can cause neuropathy once I started B 12 supplements the neuropathy improved but I still have it, not painful but annoying nonetheless and a reminder of chemo, the gift that keeps on giving.  Good Luck, MJS

Dear Friend and fellow BCO'er TSoebbin and her husband called at 8 last night asking if I wanted to go to the casino? That was an "of course" moment! Off we went. Tracy and her DH did well - I supported them NerdyIt was so nice of them to think of me!

Moondust and I are planning our trip today. Any must-see stops on the Ca-oregon-washington coast?

Anyone else up gor a roadtrip or partial roadtrip?

HH - Are you going to fly into Spokane? We'll get dates for you soon.

Peggy - Can we park our trailer in your property for 2 nights, or is there campground near you? What do you recommend?

Grazy, my kids would call that "fruit-for-breakfast"--you know, it contains eggs, wheat, milk, fruit. Healthy, right?

Sloan and Moondust: I think that taking the coastal route is longer for you than staying inland via Highway five, even if heading to Portland or Seattle on the way. But if you do go coastal: Redwoods National Park, particularly the Smith River and the old growth groves nearby (Jedediah Smith State Park which is part of the National Park, is great).

If you stay inland, Ashland. and perhaps the High Desert Museum near Bend. and Crater Lake.

    Sigh, so much to see....

Poodles, I added in scrambled eggs and a multi-berry smoothie along with my cake for breakfast so felt completely guilt-free ;) As someone else mentioned earlier, it's no different than having coffee cake! It's just unusual because I rarely eat dessert let alone make anything from scratch. Can't wait to see what happens in six months when I have my second dose of Zometa - maybe I'll build a piece of furniture.

Okay...so I just checked in to see how you ladies are doing. Interesting conversation!!!! I love this thread. Hope everyone is well. I do check in from time to time but not much to report here...things are back to normal and I'm just living life and loving it!

Hi everyone!  I still have not had a chance to go back and read the 18 pages of posts but I have read todays posts.  I love you gals.  You make me laugh and feel great. You brighten my day.  I love how everyone helps and supports each other.  The advice is always perfect.  "Maybe I will make furniture after my next infusion" - LOL!!!   I am glad that you are "sort of but not really" dating, Peggy.  Go out and have fun.  I love Nash's line, "I'm just living life and loving it!  I wish that I could get together with other fellow members om this site.  I love the picture.  Traci and Peggy - you are both beautiful.  Poodles:  You have really had every issue possible as a result of bc yet you always have such a positive attitude.  Thanks everyone for all of the stories.  Dara - I am sorry that you have to have chemo (especially after such a long wait for your results) but you have SUCH a great outlook.  Feel well.  Hugs for all.

Just spent six hours shopping with my daughter to get her some new work clothes. So much fun, but boy the feet are tired. Made me feel great, kind of back to my old self, doing normal things😝

Grazy Yay on the infusion and YUM on the cake! My DH is gone for a few days so tempting to make one but I would for sure eat the WHOLE thing on sliver at a time! Fewer calories than a whole piece!:)

Italychic I love shopping with my daughter. Glad you had fun.

Nash love your statement a goal for all of us!

614 I too often laugh at the posts very fun and inspiring group. I have also loved the skeletons tumbling out of the closet with true dating stories!

    Stay well everyone

I went to a memorial for my cousin (well cousins husband) this afternoon. They were married 55 years. He was a great guy. Died of cancer at age 84. Wonderful to see family but I was exhausted. I will see how I do Monday at work. Hello to everyone. Sorry too tired to do much but smile at your posts.

HH, the Welcome Mat is out for you any time! And for any BCO'ers. I don't feel real brave but I am determined to find someone to do things with. And I am looking at it as a new adventure. I'll definitely keep you all posted - you've been so supportive through everything. Almost worth having BC to have met you all.

Molly, glad you were able to attend your cousin's memorial. Not surprising that you are tired. It's stressful. At least you were able to see lots of the family. Take it easy tomorrow and you'll be ready to tackle work Monday. You can smile at us anytime!

Grazy, thank goodness you had an uneventful Zometa experience. My MO’s nurse says that if there are going to be SEs it’s only for the first infusion. Keeping my fingers crossed mine goes as well. Peggy & Traci, you two look wonderful--hope you had a great time at the casino. Molly, it does seem like we’re all having more and more memorial services in our lives.

Sloan, I can tell you that the entire Oregon coast up as far as Long Beach, WA along 101, and the California coast on HWY 1 from Big Sur up to the Bay Area (especially the 17-Mile Drive between Monterey & Carmel--worth the toll), and north to Mendocino, is magnificent. Whether you stay coastal all the way, or cut inland to 101 at Mendocino (and see the redwoods before heading further inland to I-5, skipping the Oregon coast) hang a right at Portland and follow the Columbia River Gorge till you cross over to the WA side near The Dalles, then head NE through the Horse Heaven Hills and the Snake River Valley en route to Spokane.

Italychic, it is nice to start doing normal things again especially with family so they see that you are doing ok. Molly, it takes a long time to get that energy back. I'm still anemic and getting iron infusions and still needing a nap most days. Luckily I'm retired and can nap if needed 😴💤 J

PlanB, I think I have been eating almost my entire cake one sliver at a time :)) I forced my husband and girls to have a bit yesterday, but they're not really dessert people either. I think the next time I feel inspired to bake something, I might try making a pie crust - I've always envied people who can make a beautiful, flaky crust (i.e. my mother) - I did not inherit the baking gene.

Sandy, I hope your Zometa infusion goes well - it should be soon? My MO led me to believe that I would most likely have flu-like symptoms starting 12 hours post-infusion and lasting 24-48 hrs, which is why she suggested I have the infusion on a Friday; and then, after all that anticipation and anxiety leading up to the appointment.... nothing. I woke up yesterday, paused for a second, realized I felt perfectly normal and I guess that's when I decided to have cake for breakfast, haha! A celebration of sorts. Anyway, she also said side effects only occur with the first infusion so that will be good for you going forward when you have such busy life. I'll be anxious to hear how make out - my fingers are crossed that you also have an uneventful experience. I drank gallons of water in the week leading up to the infusion and have continued to do so - I don't know if that's the ticket or not... I keep joking that I feel like a water balloon.

Molly, I'm very sorry about your cousin's husband -- I hope you have an opportunity to get some rest today. You've really been through a lot.

I really envy all you west coast gals planning your road trip to see Peggy - I continue to be amazed how this site brings complete strangers together.

Grazy, I'm SO happy your infusion went well!!! Sandy, hope yours does too. I have missed entirely too much to be able to comment on. Welcome to all the new people!!! I had to take some time away but have often thought of you all. I can't believe Peggy went on a date!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!! I finally got over my infection from the hysterectomy incision, but have been fighting really bad depression and severe insomnia. I'm not a naturally depressed person, so I think the two months of 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night contributed. Started on effexor 2 1/2 weeks ago and fought feeling like a zombie, so I cut the dose down and feel better. Also switched and now taking ambien for sleep. I feel like a pill head, but I'm to the point that I just want to feel better and get some sleep. The last two days with FINALLY getting some sleep, I feel more back to normal. I got lost somehow on my way home from work Friday and it scared the CRAP out of me!! So glad some of you are going to be able to get together!!!! Hugs to all!!!!!!

LG, great to hear from you. I am having insomnia problems too. It's never been a problem with me and it's awful! I go back to work Monday so I really need to get this settled.

Molly, it's so hard to deal with the insomnia while working. I've been doing it for a few weeks and had to call off work Friday because I was too scared to try and make the day while so exhausted. I tried melatonin, essential oils and restoril. Ambien is finally giving me some sleep, but it's on and off all night. Two hours here and there. I hope yours gets better soon!!!

LG, that's rather scary getting lost on the way home. Lack of sleep certainly causes a lot of problems. I'm glad that your depression is lifting as you are now getting a bit more sleep. Amazing how BC screws up your whole life and keeps right on doing it.

Molly, hope you can start getting sleep, too.

Grazy, it is wonderful how we start out here as scared strangers, trying to figure out this maze called BC, hoping someone will understand and leery of sharing how frightened we are and our most intimate problems. And within no time, we have FRIENDS. And we can share everything, not just about BC. Very blessed to be here. I'm really looking forward to hugging my BCO friends in person next month!

    HUGS!
